Hi. When I go into my contacts and type a letter in the saerch bar to get to a list of last names that begin with that letter I get a list of random names that don't begin or end with the letter. My Settings appear fine. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Bill

The search bar is not designed to take you to names beginning with the letter you put in. If you want to do that, use the letters down the side. In the search bar, the device will return results for all contacts that have that have that letter in them. If you type a couple of letters of the name, you'll find what you want faster. Once you get used to how it works, it's quite efficient.

If I click "Cancel" then nothing gets installed. If I click "Download and Install", then after a lengthy download process, I get another popup that says "The software for this printer is currently unavailable. Please contact the printer's manufacturer for the latest software"

I noticed that all my contact were lost. i did a backup and still nothing. Now when i go into iMessage, and type a letter for a name, ALL the contacts reappear there for me to choose, but still does not appear in my contacts

I've recently gotten an iPhone 5s and apprently messed up and lost all my contacts. I tried doing a back-up to regain everything...but failure.
Now. when i go into my iMessage, i type a letter expecting the persons whos contacts i've added back to appear...NO.. all the contacts (including those that i've lost) appear there to select.
However, when i go into my contacts now, i can't see the ones that were intially lost. help please.

To show up in Windows Explorer, you can try placing the iPod into
disk mode.
Moreover, i recommend you to
restore ipod to factory settings.
If this issue still persists, locate to device manager, uninstall and reinstall USB Mass Storage Device driver.

When i type into the search bar on safari, it comes up with a yahoo or bing search instead of google like it normally would do

I've had my macbook pro for about 2 years and any time i would type into the search bar of safari it would always come up with a google search. recently it is coming up with a yahoo or bing search and not google. my settings for safari have it set to google as the default search engine so I'm not sure why this is happening. Can anyone help me fix this?

When you go to search something in your search bar , and you click in the search bar at the top , a drop down menu should appear when it gives you suggestions on smart search right ? , well within those list of suggestions in the search bar their should be a little magnifying glass icon in the corner , click on that and another drop down box will appear, then you can choose your search engine preference e.g. bing , google , yahoo etc. click on your preference and it will use that search engine when you search in your search bar. Hope this helped.

At the present time, the only way to clear that is to restore the phone as new. Perhaps a future iOS update will give us the option to clear that cache.

i have done the same activity ( buy a new iphone 4 -> upgrade to ios5 - > configure email) with success-
than when i start to move the contacts from old mobile to iphone (using the microsim) i receive the same crash
in disgnosis e use i saw 2 dump with this title 'latestCrash-Preferences.plist and LatestCrash.plist. in each file the date is the same and i read:

Have you tried deleting the songs from Settings?
Settings -> General -> Usage -> Manage Storage (not the iCloud link!) -> Music and then click Edit to enable you to be able to delete.

Firefox give me a blank white screen when i open it and when i type in an address in the search bar it just say new tab on the top left hand corner and its cont. to be a blank white page. IDK?

k when i double click on the fire fox short cut on my desk top or the tab under the start button, my firefox gives me a blank white screen with the phase " new tab" on the top left hand corner as if u clicked for another window. Since restarting did not help, reset your iPhone, see: Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If that still does not solve it, check, if the contact you are trying to add is problematic. Try to save a different contact. Does that work?
If not, reinstall the Contacts app. This is only possible by restoring your iPhone, unfortunately.

Problem with ipod nano when i sync my contacts and calendr

I have two problem with my ipod nano when i sync my contacts and calendars.
For the calendars I use the thunderbird Mozilla calendar (that I export in .vcs) but the problem is that the appointment appear in my ipod with a different time: 18:00 on Mozilla become 16:00 in Ipod... Note that both (ipod and Mozilla Calendar) are configured with time zone in Paris.
For the Contact I have all in Thunderbird contact. The problem is that his software can't export the contact in vcard format (only in csv). Do you know a free software to convert my contact from Thunderbird to vcard format ?

On the phone, go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars select the account you want and scroll down to the settings for Contacts. You can change display and sort order there.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue with the Video not working correctly or green. Try clicking on the green screen, in the tab named Local Storage and put 10 KB and the green screen should disappear.
Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updating as the graphic driver could need updating.
Have you tried another browser? This link will help you update your browser if needed.

Go to the iPhone
GO to Settings > Messages
Is the iPhone Number ticked to be enabled (It will be greyed out and not editable but should be On)
If it is Off (Unticked remove the Apple ID)
Place the iPhone in Airplane mode for a few minutes.
Go back to Settings Messages and make sure the Message app Is Enabled overall.
Check the iPhone Number is verifying.
When Completed test by sending an iMessage to your Apple ID (Mac)
If that works add back the Apple ID to the iPhone's Settings.
Restart the Mac App and Accept the op ups that appear as to what the iPhone is using.

Why freezes the Adress-Bar and the Search-Bar when I open a PDF in Firefox 4?

The Problem is, when I open a PDF in Firefox 4 (with the Adobe Reader 10 Plug-In) you cannot type anything in the adress-bar or in the Search-Bar! Also when i press the "back"-Button or open another Tab, the Adress-Bar and Search-Bar is frozen! When i press my Home Button and leave the PDF-Site it works fine again! Is this a problem of the Plug-In or a Firefox-Problem?

It seems to be a problem with Adobe Reader X Plug-in. Visit adobe.com to download and install Adobe Reader X (even if you already have it). I did this and it said "installing updated patch". Went back to Firefox to check and problem solved! :)
ps. did not need to disable any previous plug-in or even close Firefox.
