Hi8 Sony SVIDEO & Yellow, White, Red AV Cables into IMAC

I have a Sony CCD-TRV81 Hi8 camcorder with an SVideo and the AV cables with White, Red, & Yellow cables. How do I import my tapes into an IMAC?

no, these connectors just offering an analogue signal, a computer needs some digital input, for iM it is called dv ...
if your camera doesn't support a dv-out/firewire/iLink ( << all same), you have to handle it as any other anlogue video, as VHS, read here.... :

I have bought a Belkin composite cable from the apple store but the picture is black and white? The tv connection does require the red yellow white cables and that is the one I bought? Can any one help

You have the iPhone in your profile, but people's profiles here are often incomplete or very outdated.  It's better to be specific.  And part of the problem is that I can't find any Belkin composite cables for connecting an iPhone to a TV, either on the Apple Store or the Belkin site.  The closest I found is this Belkin video cable, which doesn't specify exactly what kind of connection it is.
For the most relevant assistance, you've got to post in the iPhone forum and specify the cable by providing a link to exactly which cable you're using.

  • MacBook Display flashes white, red, blue, grey when starting up.

This problem just started yesterday when I turned on my Mac. It made the apple sound and then it went to a blue screen then started flashing white, red, blue, grey and then a few grey patterns. It went away last night when I left it on for about 5 minutes and when I restarted it there was no problem. However when I turned it on this morning it had happened again. I have no idea what the problem could be. Anyone had this problem before or have any advice? The Mac is 1.5 years old.

Try resetting the SMC - might help, cannot hurt.

I get yellow and red bars across the faces of the people. I am copying from a copyied photograph.  Can you help me understand what is going on with the printer

That problem can be caused by the Yahoo! Toolbar that extents too much downwards and covers the top part of the browser window and thus makes links in that part of the screen not clickable.

  • BPMon : Separate email notification on yellow and red alert

    Hi, gurus!
Does anyone know how to set up for Business process monitoring different email adresses for yellow and red alerts?
    Thanks,
    Szilvia

    Hi Szilvia,
the only workaround is the way you describe by duplicating the monitoring object. This is of course not the intention as the data collection will take place two times.
What I would like to understand is the use case behind it. As we implemented BPMon at around 100 customers and never got the request as something critical. Is is just for escalating the problem or what is the idea behind different recipients for different ratings?
If it thought to be for escalation purposes you have to be very careful as seting the right threshold values is really an art. You probably don't want to bother the next escalation hierarchy with too many problems.

So i was updating my white ipod touch 4th gen and i restarted the ipod while it was half way done. Then after it restarted it would crash right after the apple sign...it would turn white, red,purple,green...any ideas of how to fix it??

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
When it says restore the iPid via recovery mode, try placing n recovery mode and restoring several times.

    Hi,
I'm from germany so no 'best buy' but I think I will lock around sleeve/bag for a different product with same measures. Any tip?
The clear plastic case is not what I want. I would like to use the player without such protections. I just want a sleeve to protect the player while its in my jacket/pants.
Btw, i have bought this version: Creative Zen (maybe european version?). I also doesn't seem to have your mentioned sleeve. I also couldn't find it on the website.
    Anyway, thank you,

  • Plugging working internet cable into Airport disables connection

I updated MacBook Pro to 10.7.3 and Airport 7.6.1.  Now Airport utility shows I have no internet connection, no DNS and ethernet is unplugged (yellow indicator for internet and flashing yellow indicator for airport in utility).  If I plug ethernet cable into my MacBook Pro, internet works fine (internet light shows green in Airport utility, Airport light flashes yellow), but as soon as I plug the cable back into the Airport station, the internet light goes back to yellow and the Airport light continues to flash yellow.  In other words, plugging a working ethernet cable into Airport disables the connection.  I can't figure out what's going on.  Any help please!

I reinstalled combo update, unplugged airport and cable modem for an hour, reconnected both and all is well again.

  • No broadband since BT replaced cabling into a neig...

    Hi,
Just wondering if anyone can help or offer any advise for an ongoing broadband issue my parents are having. The BT call centre isn't really helping or acknowledging the issue.
My parents are using standard BT broadband and the BT homehub 4 but since Wednesday they have had no broadband connection and the homehub is just flashing orange and red. The homehub box has bee rebooted many times and the cable to wall socket checked but still no connection.
The issue started when a BT engineer attended a fault at a neighbours property, mice had chewed through the cabling outside the property leaving them with no broadband. During the engineers visit my parents broadband connection stopped working suddenly, my father asked the engineer if the work he was doing could have affected his own broadband. The engineer showed my father the damaged cabling and explianed that mice had chewed through it. He advised that they weren't sure who else may be affected and my father would to call BT to arrange for an engineer to visit.
It's disappointing that my parents have now been left without a broadband connection when theirs was working
correctly before these cables into a neighbours property had been replaced. They live in a rual area and have been left with no broadband, there is no BTOPenzone etc .. for them to use as an alternative while they continue calling BT in the hope someone will help them.
My father has called BT serverval times and he's not getting any assistance from them. The call centre staff are saying the issue is on the house and broadband is working and they can't see any issues etc ... they have left them with no options or anyway to get this fixed. They won't acknowlege the events of Wednesday or even accept this may be related to their issue.
I need to some help in getting through to someone who can help them resolve this, it's not fair the position they have been left in or the service they are currently recieving from BT.
Can anyone offer any advise or assistance ?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Sara

    Hi sanyon,
Did you father connect to the Test Socket? Which is found behind the removable faceplate of the BTNTE5 master socket or Openreach ADSL prefiltered master socket? See the image below on help on locating the Test socket:
If he did connect to the TEST Socket, then this will disconnect any extension/slave telephone sockets in the property. This is supposed to happen, as the Test socket is their for diagnosing phone line and broadband faults as it elimintes the internal wiring (ie disconnects the internal wiring and extension/slave telephone sockets if wired correctly)
You will not be charged the £99 to £130 Openreach engineer home visit charge if the fault is found on the external line upto the TEST socket. After the Test socket is your responsibilty including all internal wiring.
You will only be charged the Openreach engineer home visit charge if the fault is found after the TEST socket (eg your internal wiring) or with your/an equipment within the property.
Edit: As Keith_Beddoe has said, whas there a dial tone on the phone when connected to the TEST socket, and was there a broadband connection also when the Homehub/Router was connected to the TEST socket? Your father can re-enable the extension/slave sockets by reconnecting the removable faceplate back onto the BTNTE5/Openreach master socket.
    Hope that all makes sense
I'm no expert, so please correct me if I'm wrong

  • I have just got an Airport time Capsule for back up how do I do it? Do I put the ethernet cable into the back of my sky hub because when I do that the amber light on my Time Capsule flashes amber. Please talk in simple terms as I am a

I have just got an Apple Airport time capsule to back up my one year old iMac......how do I do it? I have tried putting an ethernet cable into the time capsule and to my sky hub, all I get is a flashing amber light, can anyone help I am a silver surfer not used to Apple products, but love them, plus I don't understand half of the jargon....HELP please

Apple's Setup Guide for the Time Capsule is pretty simple and clear for most users, and you don't indicate at what point or step that you are getting stuck.
So, please go to page 8 in your Setup Guide to review the topic of Plugging In Your AirPort Time Capsule.
The Sky hub will likely have 4 Ethernet <--> ports on the back of the device. Pick any one that you want and connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the port that you choose.
Then, connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the WAN (circle of dots) port as shown in the Setup Guide.
Continuing with the instructions on page 8 of the Setup Guide, power up the Time Capsule by connecting the power cord from the back of the Time Capsule to a wall AC jack.
Note that the instructions indicate that the indicator light will be solid amber during startup, and it will change to blinking amber during the setup. The light will remain blinking amber until you have configured the Time Capsule at which time the light will turn green.
Next, go to page 12 of the Setup Guide to see the information to Use your Mac or iOS device to set up your AirPort Time Capsule.
You indicated in your tag line that you were using OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3), and since that will exceed the minimum requirement of a Mac using OS X (10.7.5) as noted in the guide, you can use your Mac to set up the Time Capsule.
Continuing with the instructions on page 12 of the Setup Guide......
    1. Open AirPort Utility on your Mac.  It is located as follows:  Finder (the smiley face on the dock) > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
    2. Select your AirPort Time Capsule and click Continue. You won't be able to do this, but read further......If you do not see the AirPort Time Capsule that you want to configure, choose it from the WiFi status menu in the menu bar, at the top of the screen.
So, clicking on the WiFi icon will yield a small window that looks like this:
The example below shows an AirPort Extreme.  You will see Time Capsule on your screen. Click on Time Capsule.
When you click on Time Capsule, that will get the setup wizard going. it will take a minute to analyze the network, then display a screen that looks similar to the illustration below, except that you will see a picture of a Time Capsule on your screen
    3. Continuing with the Setup Guide.......Follow the onscreen prompts to create a new network
Network Name...........Type in a simple name that you want to call your network. Do not use the suggested name.
Base Station Name....Type in a simple name that you want to call the Time Capsule.  Mine is TC, for example.
Password...................Type in a password that will be used for both the network and the Time Capsule.  Write that down.
Verify..........................Type in the password again to Verify
    Click Next
The setup wizard will configure everything for you. When you see the message of Setup  Complete, click Done.
The Time Capsule is now set up and it will display a green light.
