Hibernate is not working (Black macbook)

Hi, I generally set my black macbook (late 2007 model) to hibernate instead of sleep when I close the lid. I used the 'pmset -a hibernatemode 1' command.
After booting up fresh, the first time I close the lid, it hibernates, and I can wake it fine by opening the lid and pressing the power button. The second, third, etc. times when I close the lid, the sleep light comes on BUT NEVER TURNS OFF!! When I open the lid, it will not wake up, and I have to manually restart the macbook via the power button.
What's more, after the first hibernation, I sometimes find that my bluetooth settings are frozen. That is, when I try to change my bluetooth settings, the spinning cursor comes on, and I have to force quit from System Preferences. Then, going back to bluetooth settings only makes System Preferences freeze again. At this point, I have to reboot in order to access bluetooth settings.
This is really annoying, because I frequently use hibernate in order to save my computer image and not have it wake up via USB mouse or keyboard, etc. Am I alone on this or have other people faced this issue too? Thanks.

I have been experiencing the same problem, though I have tried both the Midnight and Deep Sleep widgets. I've never had a problem with waking from sleep, only with hibernating in the first place... the light stays on and I have to hold down power to get a response. This happens about 1/3 of the time, though it seems to be happening more often since upgrading to 10.5.6.

I have a MacBook Pro Retina display: 15.4-inch late 2015 with OS X Mavericks install, only on second week.
Insight works on FaceTime, Skype, but yahoo program does not show insight cam in dropped down.
Now when I got my new MacBook Pro, I down loaded all new Skype (worked tested), FaceTime (Worked Tested), Yahoo (not worked)
Fix:
With the new Maverick you have to use there messager program Version 8.0 (4218). Once I add my yahoo account video works again.
It also supported AOL, AIM, Google Talk, Jabber.
Guess I miss it frist time... hope this helps...

Speakers are not working on MacBook 13" 10.5.8, however the startup chime does work. Plug-in headphones also work. Have searched all over google for answers but nothing fixes it. How do I check the drivers are correct?

Ooops - that's not a good sign. I would first restart the computer and then hold down the option key while accessing the Apple menu and select System Information... then go under Network>Wifi and see if you've a card installed:

Built-in iSight not working-black screen with every application

I have a MacBook laptop version 10.6.2 and just recently my built-in isight stopped working. i've had this laptop for about 2 years now and there have never been problems with the isight. i downloaded skype because i tried using ichat and my friends computer wouldn't video chat when i used ichat, but when i used skype it worked. so i've been using skype for about a month now... and just recently, i'd say like 2 weeks ago i went to use skype and the screen was completely black. the sound works, my friend said she could hear me she just couldn't see me. so i went into photo booth to see if the camera worked with that, and its a black screen on that app too! and when i take a picture it counts down like it normally would, but it doesn't even produce a picture, just a blank in the line of pictures at the bottom.. i also went into ichat and it has the same thing-black screen. i think the computer detects the camera, because it never said that it didn't... just the screen is always black.
just some other info.... when i go to use an application that uses isight, the green light on the right side of the camera lights up.. nothing else really happens though.
any information or diagnostic would be most appreciated!! thank you!

Preview with light or shade editing function is not working (black or white picture)

I have a problem with the preview function in iphoto (version 9.4.2 on a white macbook, mid 2007, os x lion, latest version, 4 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD).
Whenever I use the light or shade editing function, the picture in the preview is getting completely black or white. If I close the editing screen, the normal preview is working with the edited picture.
I repaired the iphoto library, I tried to reinstall iphoto, I did a SMC reset but nothing worked. Yesterday, reinstalled my complete system and reinstalled iphoto but even this did not work.
Has anybody an idea how to deal with this problem? Is there a kind of BIOS funktion to activate or to deactivate like graphics boost or something like that? It would be great if anyone has an idea because editing photos efficiently is hard with my problem.

On the contrary, or at least I think so. If I remember it correctly, you can simply go to the top menu bar and click 'Photo', 'Edit in', 'Edit in Adobe Photoshop' and it will put your panorama in Photoshop so you can simply continue working on it. Hope it does the trick!

Your PRAM battery may be on its way out. After 4 years that starts to happen, and that can cause all sorts of peripheral failures even before the clock is affected. Bring it in for service.

External Monitor Not Working With Macbook Pro

My computer was working fine with an external monitor, then my computer froze, and I had to hold down the power button. When I turned it back on, my computer would not work with an external monitor. I've tried different cables, so it's not the cable. The monitor is being detected by the computer, but nothing is showen on the external monitor. When connecting the monitor to the computer, the computer's screen goes blue, then turns back to normal. I
I cannot reset the SMC by removing the battery, I do not have the confidence to remove my battery, and do not have the time to send the computer to someone else to do it.
I also tried updating my OS from 10.7.4 (Might've been 10.7.3) to 10.7.5.
My computer is a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010), running OS X 10.7.5 Lion.
I need to get this problem fixed ASAP, any help is appreciated.

I forgot to mention, I'm connecting the monitor via MiniDisplay -> HDMI. I've also tried USB -> HDMI and USB -> DVI -> HDMI but none of them seem to work.

There is a problem in Macbook 1.83 GHZ (Macbook 13-Inch Mid 2007 Combo) the keyboard is not working some times when I boot from Windows XP install Disk, after installation of Windows XP Operating System.
Either I install first Mac OS x 10.4.9 then Install Windows XP Pro through bootcamp 1.2 Completion of both Operiting System I boot through Windows XP bootable CD OR I install Windows XP with out Mac OSX, in both conditions when i boot my computer through Windows XP bootable CD some times my built in keyboard (or external USB keyboard) does not work.
Not only one Macbook is effected there are many.
I request you to please advise to resolve this hot issue.

I see that you are having issues setting up the printer on 10.10. I would like to help you out today.
If the printer has a valid IPv4 address and you still can't add the printer as a Bonjour printer, most likely Multicasting is turned off on the router, since your not able to add the printer as a bonjour device and the other devices won't recognize the printer. Just call the router company and have them turn it on.
If the printer doesn't have a valid IPv4 address please try these steps:
Reset the printer first to clear out any previous network settings.
Turn the printer off, hold down the wireless button and cancel (x button) while turning the printer back on and don't release the two buttons until the printer stops making noise.
Print out a configuration report and make sure the SSID and IP address are cleared.
Printing a Configuration Page.
Make sure Safari is set as the default browser. Sometime the Embedded Web Server won't open if it isn't.
Open Safari, across the top select the Safari menu, select Preferences, General, set as default.
I will provide the steps for 10.9, which should work the same for 10.10.

You may follow the steps instead of watching the video.
You have to connect the USB cable from the printer to the computer to install the printer as a USB device first and then configure the wireless network.
Turn the printer on, connect the USB cable and install the Apple Update that should automatically load.
Then go to the Apple, System Preferences, Printers and Scanners.
Highlight the Laserjet on the left side of the window.
Then click on Open Print Queue, click on Settings, click on Utility, click on Open Printer Utility, then click on the HTML Config button.
The Embedded Web Server for the printer will open.
Click on the Networking tab, select Wireless on the left side.
Fill out this information for your network. Status make sure you select Enabled.
Apply the settings.
Then go back to Apple, System Preferences, Printers and Scanners and click the + sign to add the Laserjet bonjour printer. (might take a couple of minutes to appear) Make sure the printer listed beside use: shows the proper printer name and not the default driver, then click on the add button.
Delete the USB printer from the list from the Printers and Scanners window.
Disconnect the USB cable.
Test the printer.
