Hibernate option in Shutdown menu?

I am using the MBP (last release prior to unishell design), with an external monitor and bluetooth keyboard an mouse. I often work on multiple files at the same time (up to ~10) and each one is ususally arranged on my screen or in spaces according to what I am doing. I often need to refer to multiple documents at the same time, and my problem arises when I am done working on the documents for the night and need to save the workspace exactly as it was. I cannot find a way to do that. I would love a hiberantion option on my shutdown screen, is there such an option and how can it be enabled?

Actually, when you put your Mac to sleep the current state memory is written to /var/vm/sleepimage so that if power goes too low you can still get back to where you were when you went to sleep.
This is the reason that it takes a long time for a Mac to go to sleep, as it is writting memory to /var/vm/sleepimage.
To further clarify things there are several kinds of sleep possible on new macs. all new portable macs come preset for new kind of sleep that does use sleepimage. but new desktops don't.
You can run
pmset -g | grep hibernatemode
and see what kind of sleep mode is set. 0 means old style instantaneous sleep without sleep image (that's what I got on my mac pro). 3 means the new sleep. that's the default for new laptops.
you can set the mode to what you want using
sudo pmset -a hibernatemode number

You can get the option to show up there. Here's how:
Go into the control panel and power options.
Next to your selected plan, click the 'Change plan settings' link.
In the window that opens, click the 'Change Advanced Power Settings' link.
Click the + sign next to 'Sleep'
Click the + sign next to 'Allow hybrid sleep'
Change the setting to 'Off'.
Now check the options of your shutdown button.

I am using Windows 7 RC (Build 7100) and I have a similar problem. Hibernate worked with the beta.
Now, when I select Hibernate in the Shutdown options, the PC simply logs me off and I get the logon screen. I have enough dsik space for hibernation.
There is no 'Allow hybrid sleep' on the +Sleep list, there is only "Sleep after, Hibernate after and Allow wake timers".
I tried cmd powercfg /Hibernate on and there are no error messages. Restarting the PC, there is no hiberfil.sys recreated. cmd sfc /scannow returns no errors. cmd /scanfile=hiberfil.sys returns 'windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation'.
Although some don't find benefit with hibernate, I like it (18 sec to shutdown with the beta)
Help would be appreciated.

The final version is probably gioing to see more improvements in ACPI (chipset driver) performance, but your Power Options are probably not going to get it in the Release Candidate. I think the 'shutdown /h' command is about your best workaround.

On the Shutdown dialog, hold down SHIFT to toggle from Suspend to Hibernate.
Also ensure Hibernation is enabled in the Power Settings in Control Panel.

Tweaking the KDE 4 Shutdown Menu

i'm messing around with kde4 right now and i really like it so far, there's just one issue i can't solve:
i'm starting my desktop from the command line after a normal login via the startx command without any displaymanager like kdm.
this means that the kde shutdown menu doesn't show any options to shutdown or restart the computer, so i just wanted to ask you guys whether it's possible to tweak the menu in some way to integrate own commands like "sudo shutdown -h now" or "sudo pm-suspend" etc.

Do you absolutely need to start kde this way ?
Try using 'startkde' (/usr/bin/startkde) instead of 'startx'.

my .json file isn't corrupted cause it was saved on another partition before formatting my OS.

Can you restore that JSON backup in a new profile?
Did you make sure that it is really a JSON backup and that there is no missing or hidden other file extension?
A JSON backup starts with: {"title":"","id":1,"dateAdded"
A HTML backup starts with: <!DOCTYPE NETSCAPE-Bookmark-file-1>
You can try if you can restore that JSON backup in a new profile.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems
See Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

I tried restoring json backup in new profile, but nothing, i couldn't restore, cause that stupid error from screen shot which i posted again appears !

How to remove options or customize the context menu of the task in UWL.
I have 4 options(Edit,Remove,Forward,Resubmit) is appearing in the context menu.
My requirement is to delete Forward option form the menu list and only 3 options
should appear in the list.
Can anybody suggest where to change?

Hi vikas,
Go to System Admin ->System Config->UWL Admin.
select your system alias.
Click on Click to Click to Administrate Item Types and View Definitions.
Select your UWL configuration.
Download DTD as well as XML file through Download Configuration.
Then you can edit the xml file using XML spy editor or anyone.
to upload go back to the same page and select the tab...Upload new configuration.
Do not forget to clear the cache after upload.

Hi Ray,
   Yes, you are right. This is the assignation chain:
   Command->group commands->resource/collection/details->layout set->folder/KM navigation iview.
   Remember, layout set is a service that you need to active on your repository.
   Layout set allows you define (between other things) commands groups availables for resource, links or folders.
   The context menu will have differents commands group depending reource type.

In Oracle 10g, working since the browser, how to call a report since an option of a menu (*.mmb)? I know to call it in a form (*.fmb), therefore uses the fields bean area and the objects reports, but in a menu there is not neither canvas, neither fields, neither reports. Someone would be able to help me with that?

You do not need to have a report object defined in the menu. It is enough to have it in forms.
I tried to call a report from the menu in the folowing way:
I created a menu and wrote the following code in one item:

In your case, you have to make sure that you have the dummy report object in each form that will have this attached menu.
You can replace by the actual report name as you have written in the code.

LR 6 - Cant see the HDR Merge Option in the menu

Just upgraded. Thought I would try the HDR merge, but having watched the video...I have no HDR Merge Option in my menu.

I had the same problem. Couldn't figure it out, searched, came here.
I fixed it by:
1) Open the Creative Cloud application by double clicking the icon in system tray
2) Double click the Lightroom CC application (note: you might have two Lightroom apps now, 5 and CC). It will prompt you saying that Lightroom needs to upgrade the catalog. Click the upgrade.
3) The new updated Lightroom will launch.
Note that old shortcuts will still link to Lightroom 5 - not the new Lightroom CC.
I am not sure why this 'upgrade' seems to be an entirely new application install and not actually just an upgrade.

Export option in Apps menu is not working

Since yesterday,it seems our export on Oracle apps is not workin.
Both exports on Application and export when doing File-Export from Concurrent Request are not working.
The action seems initiated but no error and no popup window is displayed.
Usually a popup window should tell us to open or save file.But this is not the case.
