Hiccups in video flow preview

Using FCE 3.5, RT settings are on High playback video quality and full playback frame rate. I have two clips I have spliced together with a basic fade dissolve. I notice that even though I have rendered the whole section, the color coded render bars above the sequence show different colors (green and bluish-purple). And where the intersection occurs from green to bluish purple there is a bit of a hiccup where the image moves slightly. Why does it do this? Can I stop it? Why doesn't the whole section selected render the same way and have the same color bar?

I can't really tell. It depends entirely on how you initiated the render. You can do it in a number of different ways and depending on the circumstances may not have produced the result you wanted. It's possible you initiated from the menus and accidentally deactivated an item.
