Hidden data?

My iphone 4 says I have only 273 MB capacity left. By far less than the total capacity (6,2 GB) minus photos, apps and data stored. What can the remaining 'documents and data' and 'others' be? How do I find out?

  • How to view/delete hidden data on my iPod?

I'm really bad at explaining, so I hope this makes sense!
Well, I was cleaning my iPod this morning, and after deleting all the data from it I noticed there was still 5gb worth of used disk space left. So I assumed it was just my music, but when I checked the summary in iTunes, it said that 3.71gb of that 5gb was of 'other' data, but I had already deleted all the other data on my iPod.
I realise that if I delete stuff from my iPod on my mac, I should empty the trash before disconnecting it or else the data will remain backed up somewhere on the iPod. So if this is the case for this hidden 3.71gb of data, how or where can I find it and delete it?
    Cheers!

Other can be a lot of things: artwork, contacts, notes. However, 3.71 gigs is a lot. Generally, restoring your iPod will fix this problem. Plug your iPod in, launch iTunes and click the Restore button on the summary page. Note: This will delete everything on your iPod.

  • Removing all the hidden data from photos

If I export a photo to share, I often want to remove all the extra hidden stored data such as date taken exposures etc. Is this easy?
    Rod

    Hi rod,
By accident I found that a little app I use (ImageWell) to add connotations and text to my screenshots also strips most if not all the EXIF data from an image that you drag out of the Image well.
I just checked it out again. I dragged an image into the well, changed the name of the image and dragged it out. The EXIF data was gone when I opened it with Preview and did Tools/Get info.

  • My iPad appears to have hidden data. My usage shows 13gig but my list of uses only adds to 1.5gig. I am also getting messages that my iPad is almost full.

My iPad appears to contain hidden storage data. My usage shows 13gig but. My list of usage only shows 1.5gig and I cannot find where the discrepancy is. When I try to download my first movie I get a 'not enough space' message.

You simply need to get hold of an external HardDrive and move some of your bigger files (e.g.. Music, Videos, photos) to that drive and free up some space. Alternatively get a bigger HardDrive put i your Mac. It will slow up drastically with very little roo left.
    Cheers

The easiest way is with Access's now function.

  • The Secret Hidden Data of Yesteryear

I have a client whose startup drive is teeming with data... Her 40Gb HD has only 400MB remaining - not good. The problem is that, although I've carefully tallied all of the directories on her HD (including all invisible folders) I keep coming up with only 20GB or so. Where is this space going? Does anyone know any free apps/scripts to seek/clear this out?
I've actually encountered this exact issue before and my solution then was to just reformat and move on. Given the amount needed to back up and our timeframe, I'd rather explore other options in this instance.

thanks for the Grand Perspective tip. I have the same problem - 11 gig showing but disk utility says I have used up all but 400 meg on a 40 gig hard disk. I have just tried grand perspective. It worked very well enabling me to identify quite a lot of redundant data which I have deleted.

  • [How?] Text editor with hidden data

Im looking on a good way to make an small Text editor (visually the features of a JTextPane is ok for my needs), but I need to associate metadata with words or a group or words (ex. timestamps).
Any idea on how to accomplish this ?
    thanks

I think that it's too soon to think on how to store those data. Once the editor designed, I could save the information in an xml, serialized class etc.. it doesnt really matter.
The easy part is to design all my classes to represents those Strings + metadata (my model).
I suppose that after that I could convert them to a document which I can use to display in any gui. BUT if I can't fit all those infos in a widget, I'll have to catch all keyboards/mouse events et manually apply those modifications on my model beforce creating new document to refresh the widget ? That part seem problematic to me..Huh?
You have a data structure. That data structure is mapped to a displayable format.
For example you could use XML for the data structure. Thus something like the following would be in it.
           <Line font="bold">
                 <priority>3</priority>
                 <text>This is a line</text>
</Line>You then create a mapper that takes that and displays the value of the element "text" to the screen. Nothing else is displayed from that is displayed.. Your display mechanism would need to have a link between that line and the above xml so if someone changes that line then it gets put back in the xml.
In the above "priority" and "bold" simply represent other data type elements the rules of which depend on the needs of your application.
Note that the above depends on rules which might or might not be represented in the data structure. Maybe because they can't be or simply because it isn't worth the effort.
For instance what happens if the user puts a line feed in the middle of the displayed line? Does that create a new "Line" entity or is just an update to the existing "text" element?
Keep mind that XML is nothing but an example there are other ways to do this.

  • How to restrict a table with its set of data based on a column value in it?

    Hi,
I have a scenario in which I have to show a set of data of a pivot table by restricting data based on a column value. I am creating BIP report whose source is from BIA ie.RPD. Based on a column value I want to restrict the data being displayed in the table. Since I also want the hidden data in the first table to be displayed in another table in the same report I cannot restrict the data at the query level i.e at RPD or at BIA. For this reason I used
    <?xdofx:if saw3_ = 1?>
    the pivot table
    <?end if?>
But it does not restrict any data.
Also I tried using the if condition inside the table before the row level looping happens. But no good show even then.
How can I forgo this problem?

  • Current date and time in narrative. html?

    Hello,
I would like to include current time and date in the narrative of a report. The purpose of this is that when end-users export the report a time and date of export is inlcuded in the export so that I know when specific reports where exported.
I now have a workaround with added hidden date and time columns and showing only first rows of these hidden columns. This is quite a lot of work since I have to update about 75 reports with this date and time values.
Does any of you know how to include currentdat and time in the narrative with a html code?
Or are there other ways to achieve what I am looking for?
    Thanks a lot

    Hi,
We had similar kind of requirement.
We have created a repository variable "CurrentDateTime" and added this in each and every report in the narrative view as below.
    Steps:
1.Leave the existing Table view or chart view as it is.
2.Add one narrative to the existing report.
3.Modify the narrative view and paste the below logic in that.
    Current Date: @{biServer.variables.CurrentDateTime}
    Hopes this helps.
    Thanks,
    Pramod

  • Passing values in "Date Entry" items to called page

    I have a page with:
    o 2 Date Entry fields (P1500_BEGINDATE & P1500_ENDDATE).
    o A "Submit" button, P1500_SUBMIT_DATE_RANGE
I want to use the 2 dates in a query on a linked page, called by the Submit button. I've setup 2 hidden Date Fields on the 2nd page, hoping I could stuff the dates into them, and grab them from there for the query.
I'm sure I'm making this much harder than it hasta be... but for the life of me, I can't get the dates from the 1st page to the 2nd.
Please let me know the easiest way to accomplish this (I've tried all of the hard ones that don't work... ;o)
    Thanks!
    Mark

Mark: You don't need hidden fields.
When you submit the page using the Submit button, the P1500_BEGINDATE (you really have 1500 pages in your app?!) and P1500_ENDDATE items are saved into session state and are available on any other page to be used as you need.

  • Hidden/Missing Text - Acrobat Pro

I have Acrobat 9 Pro for my Mac.
I created a PDF from a blank page. My document has an opening paragraph, and then a list of 100 + names. While I see my PDF is three pages long, the two and a half pages with the names are blank. Is this part of Metadata? I am a complete newbie.
How can I view the missing/hidden data (names) I typed in? I need to send it in an Email, and I want the person who receives the PDF file via Email to view the names too.
Thanks so much for your help,
    Lisa

Even though Acrobat allows you to do that what you really should be doing is creating your list in a different application (like Word...etc) and then using Acrobat to create a PDF out of that.
There are less surprises that way.

  • How to access data in iChart

We have an iChart showing data, but it is not plotting all the data from the query.  This is how we want it to display; however, we want to be able to access the hidden data via javascript.  If we do a data details, it shows all the rows and columns we would like to access, but we do not see a command that is used with iChart that can query the hidden data behind the chart.  We can only query the plotted data.  How can we query the hidden data?  We are using xMII 11.5.

    Hi Todd,
have a look at the [iChart Reference|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_xmii115/helpdata/en/Applet_Reference_Details/Illuminator_iChart_Reference/iChart_Reference.htm]. At the bottom of the document you will find a paragraph "Accessing the underlying data".
    Hope this helps
