Hidden First Row of EVDRE report

Whenever I run a report with suppression "on" and there is no data to return, it hides the first row in the EVDRE report.
Is there a way to leave suppression on and tell BPC to not hide the first row?
I have other formulas linked to this first row that return "#REF" whenever this happens.

It's normal that the first row hides when there is no value to return. What you can do is to use RETAIN() in the
SUPPRESS field.

First row of BPC report is hidden on execution

Hi Experts,
I am facing an issue as below:
1. I have a BPC report with header on row 20 and report starts from row 21
2. On row 19 i have static headings corresponding to the headings in row 20 (row 20 is hidden)
3. Have used supress rows if blank
4. When i execute this report for a time period with no data, this reports has a member in row 21 with blanks but hides the row (that is the normal behaviour i believe)
5. When i execute this report for time period which contains data (while row 20 is hidden) the report executes properly however row 21 remains hidden.
6. When i unhide row 20 (header) and refresh the report the report displays correct information.
summary: When i hide the report header the first row is always hidden however when i unhide the report header this behaves correctly.
Can anyone help me with this issue?

How to create a first row in crystal report as opening balance which contains two columns with debit and credit

I have created a crystal report with credit and debit column. Balance column created on the report. Report running with cummulative balance. THis report contain an option for date range. If i filtered this report its not showing the actual balance. I need
a first row to indicate previous balance as opening balance in this report. And following is the formula for balance column.
Whileprintingrecords;
Shared Numbervar balance;
Shared Numbervar display;

Report sum on the first row

Hi All,
i have an report with a few columns an i sumerized them by clicking on the sum checkbox. My report result into data with a nice sum row at the bottom of the report.
The question is, is it possible to get this summary line to the beginning of the report as the first row of the report ?

Crosstab first row

Hello everyone,
I have question about crosstab's first row, I have report where on first row is always 0 all data are ok totals are ok but I can't delete this first row, I said delete becouse if I check hide it hide only values and I have first row empty. Is here any way how to do that ?

The issue is caused by the order in which the parameters appear in the report data tab can be difference between our report execution and it failing. In other words, “Parameter2” is execution before parameter “A” due to this issue. We can adjust the parameter’s
order to solve the issue.
If “Parameter2” is parameter “A”, we cannot use that expression. Because fields cannot be used in report parameter expression, if we want to display the first value returned from a query as default value, we have to fill the “Specify values” text box with
the specific value in Default Values dialog box.

Interactive Report - How to display Aggregate values in first row

Hi,
I have an interactive report in which I have included aggregate for count.
But the count doesn't show until I navigate to the last page of the report.
Any idea how to display all the aggregate values on the top(in first row), so that the user doesn't have to click next to see these values.
Also when I downloaded the report the aggregate columns are not exported into csv. Any thoughts on this highly appreciated.

Extra buttons on each row of a report?

Hi,
I would like to add multiple buttons in front of each row in a report.
When a button is pressed a Pl/SQL statement should run with access to the PK ID of that row.
Also, it is important that I can add other buttons as well (edit, delete etc)
What I want to accomplish, for example:
I want to have an add event button on each line of a scheduled production run, this should then branch to a new page on which first a hidden item (set to pk id) and visible item (pk info) is set to those of the row on which the button was pressed.
I hope that makes sense.

open the page, click the RPT link to the report column attributes of that region. choose the field you wish to alter (click the edit icon) then change under the "column link" section to an href. I have used a call to a javascript function in the URL box e.g. "javascript:show_the_page(#ADD#);" and included a javascript function within my app to handle this (read in PK and open a page in a new window with the PK as a variable)

Excel export contains a blank row for the Report Header

I am getting a blank row as the first row in my SSRS report when exported to excel. I have already taken care of following things,
1. I have hidden all of the Page Header items using Globals
2. The position of Report Body Tablix is 0, that means there is no space between report header and Report Body.
I have developed this Report in SSRS 2012, please let me know if any more details are required. I think even after hiding Header Items, excel creates a placeholder for page header. I can't remove header from my reports as it is needed to be published in
pdf.

According to your description, you are getting a blank row as the first row in your excel report when you export the report to excel, you have hidden all the items in the Page Header by using the Globals, right?
This blank row is for the page header, although you have hidden all the items in it, but it will still display when export report to excel. Because we can’t hidden the page Header directly. Normally, we can hidden all the items in the page Header, So in
the design phase we can also see the blank area above the report body when preview.
We have an alternative way by add the “SimplePageHeaders” setting in “RSReportserver.config” file, after configuration the page Header will not display in the first row of the worksheet but is rendered to the Excel page header. In Reporting Services, the
“SimplePageHeaders” default value is “FALSE” and it indicates that the page header is rendered to the first row of the worksheet. In order to display the page header in the Header/Footer section of Excel, we need to set the “SimplePageHeaders” setting value
to “TRUE”. I did a test on my local machine and here are my steps:
Navigate to RSReportserver.config file: <drive:> Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\RSReportserver.config.
Backup the RSReportserver.config file before modify it, open the RSReportserver.config file with Notepad format.
Set the Excel rendering extension code like this:

Can I change the reort total: text in the summary row in a report region?

Hi all,
This might has been asked before, I tried searching the forum but couldn't find an answer. In the report attribute, if I tick the sum checkbox then run the page, the last row would give me the summary numbers which is what I want. However is there a way I can change the "report total" text in the last row of the first column?

I had the same problem, until I realised that the text seems to be printed under the first column of the report. If that one is a hidden column, the text won't be printed in the report.
Solution:
In the 'Report Attributes' tab, move the first visible column (= attribute 'Show' is ticked) to the top of the report columns.

The empty line is sorted as the smallest value and incase of DESCENDING it will be the first line (because of the mult by -1).
We could have overide it and incase of the empty row(usualy the last row) do not mult by -1 in DESCENDING mode.
But the problem is that the "+*compare*+" method and it's caller "*+Row+*" inner class are private :-(

Should be easy? So, how do I bold a single row in a report based on SQL query without creating a new template or writing Java for the page? What is the Tabular Form Element "Element Attributes" field for? Or what am I supposed to put in there to make it do anything?

One way to do this is to add a hidden column to your report which contains the formatting value, for example:
select empno
, ename
, sal
, decode(empno,1,'font-weight:bold','font-weight:normal') style
from emp
Hide the STYLE column.
Then you can use this column for each column in Column Formatting > HTML expression in this way:
<span style="#STYLE#">#SAL#</span>
Unfortunately you have to do this for each colum you want to appear bold.

Current value of a column.row in a Report region

Hi
I have a report that I want to display a single row per page. No problem there. I also want to show, in a separate region below the value of two specific columns for that row (they are large text items that I want to show as text areas).
My problem is how to have the source of the text area data items match the current report row above. What I want is sort of;
SELECT TEXTFIELDNAME FROM TABLE WHERE KEY = value from column1 in the report above above (like the #EMPNO# notation when linking a report column to another page)
Or maybe there is a better way ?
Any pointers much appreciated.

As always you've some options to achieve what you would like to do.
If you know AJAX, you could do it that why, if not an "easier" why of doing it:
1) Create an hidden item
2) In your report make a link to the same page, but give as parameter the hidden item with the pk as value
3) In your where clause of your select to fill in the text area, you search for the hidden item (WHERE key = :HIDDEN_ITEM)

How do I assign an id to a table row in a report region? I am trying to uniquely identify a row in the result set. What I want to do is have the report region render an id for each tr tag i.e.

In the Before Each Row attribute of the report template you are using add something like this.
<tr id="row_#ROWNUM#">ID's in HTML should never start with a number it won't break anything but it's wrong that's why I put row_ first
