Hide 1ROWCOUNT in the query definition

Hu Gurus,
i'm facing the following problem and need your help.
when i hide 1ROWCOUNT in the query definition the records which do not have values desapeare from the query when i excute the query.
any advise to solve this.

1.The answer could be A,B,D.you can not apply filters on hierarchies
2.Whenever there is a change in Attribute data(like Location,Num etc...)that has to be reflected in all aggregates of the cube.Thsi can be done by running "ATTRIBUTE CHANGE RUN".

Hi,
Calculate KF consists of Basic, restrict and other calculated kFs stored in Metadata repository.
Calculate KF is a replicate of Formula and acts as Global.
Calculate KF acts as Global--you can use Globally.
Formula as Local--you can use as local to Query.
you can create the Calculate KF as follow:
Goto Query Designer>Open/Create Query>Select Key Figures Mode on left side of Query>Select that KF node> right click Select Calculate Keyfigure.
then one popup window dispays, so you make the calculations based on Basic KF, Restirct Kf and Formule. then save it.

This date is relevant for the time dependant master data if you are using it in your query.

You can use a variable in the key date and then the master data suuplied to the query (like nav attr) will be as per the date you have specified.

Need to hide rows in the Query results with blank values

Hi All,
We have a requirement like this for Stock Report, we need to display both movements and balance in that report. We display the movement data directly from the Standard cube with input as Fiscal period/year. When we do like this, we are not able to get the opening balance as fiscal period was in char restrictions pane.
We have created a dummy keyfigure restricted to Fiscal period ( so that the global filter is not applied and get the inventory data irrespective of fiscal period input ). We have created 3 variables of processing type customer exit and acheived calculating opening balance, current movement and closing balance.
If FP input is 009.2010 to 010.2010, it will get whatever Qty moved before 009.2010 ( 001.1990 - 009.2010 in exit ) as opening balance and closing balance ( 001.1990 - 010.2010 ) and the Qty KF restricted with another exit varibale ( 009.2010 to 010.2010 ).
Hope everyone understood the scenario and issue here is, though I give the input 009.2010 - 010.2010 , I get the rows displayed for different periods ( this is because I am retreiving data for all the fiscal periods but restricting it based on input ). How to restrict/hide these rows.

Hi,
Try creating a query level field which would populate as "X" (with the IF condition ) if the record falls in the period which you have given for input variable (009.2010 - 010.2010). Then place a query level filter for this field where only records with value "1" for this field is displayed.

Cell Definition in the query

Hi Experts,
Iam new cell definitions in the query. can anyone please explain an easy example scenario using cell definition and the reason why we go for it eventhough we can do all the filters in the query definition windows as well.

Before you create cell, you need to have two structures only then the cell icon will be enabled.
The value of the cell is dynamically getting calculated using formula, example,.. in your struct:
KF
PLANT1-----10
PLANT2-----20
But you wanted to get plant1 divided by Plant 2 and vise versa for the other plant, you can achieve this only by using cell.
After creating the two structures, then the cell icon will be enabled once you double click that, that is the time you can do all the manipulation for the cell.

Result Row in the query output

Hi,
If I restrict a characteristic by hierarchy then I cant have the result row displayed. If the hierarchy active is removed then the result row gets displayed. All characteristics are marked to show the result row.
This characteristic is Account Number. If in the query definition I remove the restriction on account numbers and just select hierarchy active and the required hierarchy in the properties then I get the result row in the output. But now it also displays all the unassigned account numbers in a separate node Not Assigned Account Number (s).
I cant even restrict it in the output with hierarchy active selected. When I do select filter value in the output the options Include in Selection and exclude from Selection are grayed out and hence cant select it.
Please advice on this issue

I think you misunderstood my issue.
My problem is not that i do not want to see the field. But instead, i do not want to see only the results row in the query output.
I need to have the results to populate a calculation via sumct formula.
My question is, can sumct be populated if i hide/supress RESULT row ?

Hi Uday,
This problem can occur if you changed the query definition.
In this case the query definition would be inconsistent with the existing extract structure.
Certain Meta information is maintained with each extract defined using the RSCRM_BAPI. If the definition of the query is changed and you need to use the same extract table then you need to delete the extract using the report RSCRMBW_DEL_ALL_EXTRACTS selecting the extract you want
to delete.
After this you could use the same table name for any further extract that you need to create.
One caution is that the extract table should not be deleted through any other transaction before you run the report.

How to delete the Query Buffer in OLAP

I have been working with query, after some time there has some changes in cube data.
But when i execute the query it shows the previous values only.
So, i would like to delete the existed buffer in OLAP from that query.
So, please help me out regarrding this....

Cached results have a timestamp, which is compared with the timestamp of the last data load
and meta data change.
If new data is loaded before a cached query is executed again, the OLAP engine states that the
cached entry is out-of-date. It removes the old entry, loads the current query result from the
InfoProviders and writes back this new OLAP Cache entry. The OLAP Cache entry is invalidated
in the following cases:
Transaction Data Load to the underlying InfoProvider(s)
Deletion of Transaction Data from the underlying InfoProvider(s)
Master Data Load (and hierarchies) and subsequent change run of InfoObjects contained
in the query definition
Currency conversion rate change
This invalidation is also done for meta data changes, i.e. changes to the query structure, and
query generation.
Note that changes to key dates for time-dependent master data does not result in invalidation,
but in an additional cache entry.
In addition, the OLAP Cache can be invalidated and deleted completely via the OLAP Cache
monitor (transaction RSRT 􀃆 Cache Monitor or transaction RSRCACHE). One query entry in
the OLAP Cache can be invalidated by simply re-generating the query.

Error while executing the query-VIMP

I am executing the query in production i am getting this below error message
BRAIN 629 Specify a value for variable companycode(single values,entry,mandatory)

RSBOL 000 Program error in class SAPMSSY1 Method UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION
BRAIN 633 varibale contain invalid values
It have been worked untill yesterday
Please suggest me in futhuru its very very imp to deliver the reports

1. Take of the infoobject from the query definition and see if the query is working.
2. Try saving this Query as another one and try executing it.

The query comprises the following definition which relate to displaying Milestone dates for respective projects in a time series so the dates are populated in the correct column in a time series:

When I run the above it comes back correctly. However when I add "MILESTONE" (Characteristic setting (Posted Values) to the Query Definition immediately after the "Milestone Type" and before CSR it does not work it just is hanging for a considerable time.
I am not using "Master Data" for the "Access Type for Result Vales" for the additional characteristic "MILESTONE" just "Posted Values".
I was expecting that it would just show all Milestone types as per Master Data but just the Milestones that are posted for this result.
I would appreciate a solution to this issue and an explanation to why it hangs when I add the "MILESTONE" characteristic to the definition as explained above.

Putting Milestone in the rows in the query definition is not being hang there (i.e., while creating and saving the query) right?
It is stucked while executing the query isn't it so?
That's because you have too many records to be desaggregated by milestone characteristic, and this is indepently of posted values in the characteristic settings.
Putting milestone characteristic in the free characteristics will allow you to run the query, but desaggregate it (add it to the rows) will be to much information to read from your dataprovider (this is just a guess).
If it is being stucked in query execution whike milestone is in the rows. Try this for example:
Add milestone to the free chars. Execute the query. Filter milestone characteristic while still in the free rows and choose a value that you are pretty sure has the smallest records in the Dataprovider (could be for example value #). Than drill down milestone to the rows. You'll see that it can be executed without any problem.

Not able to change query definition

I am working with BI 7.0.
In 3.5 I can change the query definition from the display results (Excel) of the query run, but from BI 7.0 I am not able to make changes to the query definition from the query displayed results. Is there an easy and quick way to do this? I would have to go to the Tools->Create new query and change the query from there.

Hi,
When you run the query in BI Analyser, you have a 'Tools' button in the BEx Analysis Toolbox; when you click on it, you will get an 'Edit Query' option which will directly open your query definition. You can modify your query now and run it again from there back in excel.
Please note that for getting this option, your query must be running and the cursor must be placed on some cell of the query.

Problem in executing the Query

Hi Experts,
I hava query on FIAR_C03, while i am executing that query it is showing one error message and immediately it is disconnecting BW server. that error message is
Abort Characterstic 0clr_doc_no is not available in the infoprovider
in details it is showing 0clr_doc_no has deleted from the infocube, but
i didn't delete anything from that infocube.
I have executed that qury in RSRT, I got the Output.
What happend how can i get the output and wt is the problem.
Please help me to do this.

If that object is not present in InfoCube, how can you add that in query based on same InfoCube?
For that, either you have to add that object in InfoCube or delete the same object from the query definition. It seems all the queries based on the InfoCube are using the same object. Thatu2019s the reason why they are giving error.
The syntax check (Check Query) option is available in the BEx Query Designer. It is 13th icon from the left on icon bar.

Easiest way to know the query group name?

This has been nagging at me for quite some time now. Would appreciate you inputs on the ways to find out the query group name for a set of queries we see on the UI.
The obvious method is to search your query group from the list of query groups that system shows when we navigate to Setup->Queries and Reports->Query Groups. Do we have some other ways as well.

Hi Devesh,
If you know the query definition then the easiest way to find the query group would be to use "Search Query Groups by Queries Used" query on the Query Groups list page. This query allows you to select a query definition and returns the query group using the query.
Or you could use "Query Group Review" query on the Query Groups list page. This returns all queries within all Query Groups. You can further refine your search by Query Name or Internal Name of the query you are interested in.
If you want to do a general search for all buy-side list page or buy-side picker page query groups, search for <buylist> and <buypick> respectively.

How to compare to query definitions ?

Hello community of experts,
Does anyone know how to compare two query definitions without looking at either the query builder or query results?
I want to prove that two queries are identical only by looking at the BW system itself.
BACKGROUND
For `certifying` queries that were developed directly in production we have the practice of transporting queries backwards to development, renaming them to a new namespace, and then transporting them forward to production again.
The queries that were transported up from the dev system cannot be changed in the prod system (except by another transport, and this makes those queries `certified`).
My goal is to automate the proof, making it easier to create the test documents required for transporting out of development again.
If we can proove that the query being transported out has the same query definition as the query the user wrote in production, then life will be a lot easier.
The query definitions are complex, which means eyeballing the query builder isn't reliable. And often the DEV & QA systems don't have the data needed for comparing the query results.
