Hide a column in BW Query
Hi Gurus!
I'd like to hide a column for specifics users in a BW Query.
I flagged the InfoObject as Auth. Rel. and created an analysis authorization. I ran the query but I got "No authorization", when I checked the log I saw that the query is asking for full authorization value to that InfoObject. I tried with : (semi colon) value but I got the same result.
Is there any way to hide a column in a query (with authorization concept) avoiding to redisign a new query?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Pepe

For your existing query, above two are conflicting. So guess you have to move with redesign/new query.

Can we hide column in a query depending upon the variable selected
Hi all,
let us say my report have 10 column.
now i am giving user option to select the values (let us say 'a' or 'b')
columns must be displayed depending upon the value selected by user ..
for example if user has selected 'a' then first five columns should be displayed..and if user has selected 'b' last five column should be displayed..(it will be OK even if we can hide the columns depending upon the selection )
Is it possible in BEx...please let me knowI did it sometime back. A bit complicated process.
Create an infoobject, manually enter the values "keyfig1" and "keyfig2".
Include this infoobject in the filters and restrict it using a "ready for input" variable.
Now create two formula variables.
Write a customer exit such that when you select "keyfig1", first formula variable's value should be set to 1 and other one's to 0.
Then in the query create two calculated key figures, multiply both with the formula variable. Also supress column (all active value == 0).
Then it will show the key figure which you have selected.

How to show or Hide Generic Column in a regular report
Hi All,
I have created report based on "SQL query (pl/sql function body returning sql query). It returns columns based on some conditions. I have total 60 generic columns like (COL1,COL2....COL60) but it returns 18 or 20 columns based on my conditions, how can I hide the columns that I don't needed. My column heading is based on function return by ':' separated. My function returns number of columns also. Is there any we I can show only those columns which contains data. My report is exactly similar to the default "SQL query (pl/sql function body returning sql query). I didn't find any logic how they are doing this show and hide. I appreciate any ones help.
Thanks,Hi there,
Somehow you need to find out how many columns your dynamic select will return (by what you said it seems that your procedure returns this information). Then store that number in a hidden page item, say Pnn_COUNT.
Then, for the 19th and 20th columns in the report add these conditions:
Column 19: :Pnn_COUNT >= 19
Column 20: :Pnn_COUNT >= 20
I hope this helps.

Hi,
I build a query in sq01.
This is a statistic report, with an integer field named "AGE" which I marked to show the average too.
I want to show the output in ABAP List (not ALV).
The problem is that I want to show ONLY the average column (of the AGE), WITHOUT the AGE column.
Can I hide this column in ABAP List?
Thanks
Itzhak.Hi Itzhak,
well I don't know what you mean by hiding. Once you created a output list just with ABAP write command, there is no way to 'hide' a column. But you can add a parameter or any other criteria to the program and do the write statement for that field depending on this criteria.
Hope this helps

Displaying dynamic columns in the query output.
Hello,
Depending on current quarter output of the query would vary.
If current quarter is 'Q1'
O/p : InvQ1 Del BackQ1 BackQ2 BackQ3 BackQ4
If current quarter is 'Q2'
O/p : InvQ1 InvQ2 Del BackQ2 BackQ3 BackQ4
If current quarter is 'Q3'
O/p : InvQ1 InvQ2 InvQ3 Del BackQ3 BackQ4
If current quarter is 'Q4'
O/p : InvQ1 InvQ2 InvQ3 InvQ4 Del BackQ4
So, out of 9 columns, 6 columns would display at any given time depending on the current quarter.
Invoice of 4 quarters, Deliquency and Backlog of 4 quarters.
I am not getting any way how to display dynamic columns or hide unwanted/blank columns.
For the time being I have added all 9 columns in the query, and in the output unwanted columns shows blank.
Can anybody please suggest me how to display only 6 columns in the output depending on current quarter.
Thanks and Regards
ShilpaHello,
This shouldn't be too difficult. Assuming you have a variable with the selected quarter, you may choose to display Inv (whatever that is) for quarters 1 through variable, Del, and Back for quarters variable through 4. You also need a drilldown on quarter in the columns (after the key figure structure). You would probably need to restrict 'Del' on the variable as well if you haven't already done it.

hi gurus
i have to create a query which columns are :
- January --> Current month (if current year)
- Januray to December (if not)
Variable entries are "year" & "plant".
please tell me how to do for the columns...
DevDev,
I would just drill-across by Month, then turn on zero suppression. That would "hide" any columns where all values are zero, which presumably would be the case for future months.
Hope this helps...

Edited by: 922944 on Mar 23, 2012 4:06 AMHi.
In WebCenter Content forum you'll find more help.
However try to hide the column following this steps:
Go to Web Layout Editor applet in Administration -> Admin Applets.
In Options -> Query Results Pages and edit the StandardResults. In text 2 delete reference to revisions.
If it don't "hide" revision column then probably have to create a custom component.

Hi all, i just want to hide the the row that is a columns header, that is just above the numbers in the result area. The point is it's autoformated, it's just a normal row and that's all, but i need to make like twice bigger and of other color.
How could i do it.
Cost center I Plant I Quantity I Price I Total I
AMAR I AMA I 34 I 45 I 78 I
DART I MAR I 76 I 23 I 97 I
So, basically i just need to hide or eliminate the first row with: Cost center, plant etc and make it myself. The problem is that with every refresh, all the formating i've done is gone.:(
Any ideas? You can always use Excel functionality to hide the column headers, and insert your own rows above with the headers, formatted just as you require.
HOWEVER, that wont work if you then apply extra drill-downs (or remove them).
As an alternative, don't forget that you can switch off 'Adjust format after data refresh' via Properties. This enables you to apply whatever formatting you wish. But again, watch out for what happens when you drill down, it may come up with some suprises! Oh, and when you make any changes to the query you have to re-embed it, which refreshes the original formatting (so you have to re-apply your own formatting), so I tend to end up creating a macro to automate this.
That help? Enough for points? lol

Hi,
Is it possible to hide column when there is no value not even zero?
Regards,
Pooja.Hi
I think you want to hide a column only when there is no values
So you like to display the column when it has values
If this is the case, you can do this with the help of macro
Macros are VBA codes written in the excel sheet. To write, go to the botoom pane of the excel sheet-> right click -? view code...there you have write the code
You can write a code with the logic.....hide column/remove column when all values are zero
Or you just want to hide the column even if it has values ......just right click -> always hide the key figure in the Bex query designer
Assign points if useful

Is there any way to hide the column header in BW workbook?
I have inserted a query into a workbook. But I don't want the column header to be shown. Is there any way to hide the column header? Thanks.
Hi,
If you want to do any custom formatting to the workbook and you do not want it to reset when you refresh the workbook,
You will have to You can deactivate the function for adjusting the formatting (Adjust Formatting after Refreshing) in the Display Options of the Query Properties.
When you do this, you can have your own formatting for the workbook and it will not be affected when you refresh the workbook.

Hide Matrix column With Parameter
Hi
I,m trying to hide matrix columns with parameters. If i for example have one matrix column with for example tre metrix values (Jan, Feb, and Mar). I have an expression with the values Jan, Feb, Mar with witch i would like to decide which
columns to show in the matrix column. In cases when i have a real column i use code as below in the column. But now that this three columns basically exists in one matrix column i dont know how to solve it. Anybody that has a soluiton on this preferably
some example code on the example.
IIF(INSTR(JOIN(Parameters!ColumnChoser.Value,
","),"Jan")>0,False,True)
Best regards Arne
Arne OlssonWhy not restrict data to only show the months you passed. Matrix creates columns based on data available so what you need is a filter like this in query below
WHERE ','+ @MonthList + ',' LIKE '%,' + MonthName + ',%'
assuming @MonthList as parameter through which you pass Jan,Feb etc and MonthName is column of the table containing corresponding month names used as matrix column group.

SSRS 2005 - Dynamically control the width of columns in Matrix report or Hide any column
Hi All,
I just want to hide some column without having white space in Matrix report in SSRS 2005. Although I am aware of that perhaps this feature is not available on SSRS 2005. So, I just want to know if we can handle the width of column dynamically(using expressions)
in matrix report?
Please help. Thanks in Advance.
Regards
KumudHi Kumud,
Based on my test, SSRS is not support column dynamically width. It has property “CanGrow” of text box. If we configure the property to True, it will wraps to next line if needed. In SSRS 2008, we can hide some columns without white space. If possible, I
recommend you update your SSRS 2005 to SSRS 2008.
There is a similar issue, you can refer to it.

How to hide Actions Column in Table
Hi All,
I have a simple requirement: I am showing a table (items)
- the "Actions" column (Column with Buttons to Edit and Delete a particualr row) must not be show -> no changes to the table are allowed (I need to hide/ disable this column)
How can I hide this column od the table?
I have found out that the field is called thtmlb_oca and that htere is a getter method get-thtmlb_oca. However, the method does not contain coding and I do not know how to HIDE this field/ column...
Please help me here..
Thanks, JohannesHi Johannes,
To remove the column completely,
you need to comment this line in the method GET_TABLE_LINE_SAMPLE of the Table View Context node class.
TYPES: BEGIN OF line,
* thtmlb_oca type crm_thtmlb_one_click_action.
INCLUDE TYPE xxxx.
TYPES: END OF line.
Disabling can be controlled in the method GET_OCA_T_TABLE of the same class by putting code to delete the button.
LOOP AT rt_actions ASSIGNING <fs_actions>.
<fs_actions>-active = abap_false.
ENDLOOP.
