Hide a folder

Hi All,
I want to give rights to a user so that he can not see the folder in BOXIR2. But he sholud be able to access the reports in that folder when he calls that report using hyperlink. I have tried using giving Noaccess rights but he is not able to access the reports in that folder .
can any one halp me,

Schedule the report "On-behalf" if feature available on your Report Server (BO XI has it), provide no-access to folder for the user, the user should be able to call the report through hyper link. I have done this in BO XI R2 using opendocument method in the link (for scheduled reports). Hope this helps. -Amir

How to hide the folder name in a KM Navigation Iview

Hi,
Scenario,
I am using a KM Navigation Iview with LinkListExplorer Layout set. The Folder Name appears at the top of the collection.
Please can someone tell me how I can hide the folder name for the iview. i.e I do not want the folder name to appear in the iview.

Folder name is located in the breadcrumb
remove your breadcrumb in your collectionrenderer of the layout set you are using.
Check the layout set you are using in your KM navigational iview.

How to hide a folder in item master form?

Dear members,
I have to hide a folder named properties and remarks in item master form?
I have tried by setting the visible property as false through sdk coding.Its working fine but when i use navigation button these above mentioned tabs appear for a moment and then disappear.
I want these to not to be visible in any of the events like navigation and find.
please do help me in this regard.

looks like you can't move 1 Folder alone when they are grouped

I hid a folder using "." through terminal...how do I find it?

I left my computer with a family friend about a month ago, and before doing so I hid a folder which had pix of my wedding, work files, finance stuff etc.
I found a way to do it, involving terminal, and typing "." before the files name.
So basically, I can't remember the file name at this point. Thought it was one thing, and it's not, so is there a way for me to locate this folder?

But you might want to disable this "feature" after you found what you were looking for.
Alternatively you could just use the Finder's Find (command-F) command and search for file by Kind Name plus File visibility Invisible Items.

Is there any way to hide a folder and provide access to the report in XIR2 while using infoview?

I have resolved the issue by setting the viewobjects to not specified for that particular group for a partiuclar folder in CMC.
Now the user in not able to see folder in Infoview but able to access the report within it.

Want to hide a folder using Java

I want to hide a folder using Java. Can anyone give me API to do this.
I have checked the I/O package in that only isHidden() is there which shows if the file is hidden or not. But i want to hide a folder using Java code.

If your dealing with a Linux directory you could hide it by prepending a dot. Or, if a directory of that name already exists, prepending a number of dots. Unhiding would consist of removing all the leading dots (and this operation might not always be possible).
If it's a Windows directory you might want to look at the "attrib" command.

After a few issues with a file exchange application my one reminaing issue is a visible volumes folder on my main drive. Is there any way to re-hide this or any issues I should be checking?

Hide mailboxlist folder on iPhone?

I've got a simple Horde email account: two of them actually. One is perfectly fine, the other has a hidden folder called "mailboxlist" that is always showing on my iPhone. I want to hide this folder, but don't know how. It has always been there: changing multiple settings on both the phone and the horde account result in nothing. I'm not familiar with how all of these email things work, I'm more of a Yahoo mail guy myself. Any help on how to hide this annoying folder on my iPhone is appreciated.

Yeah, it's an online account with mail stored on a server... I'd be lying if I said I know the difference between POP and IMAP. I go to a website online (like Yahoo, sort of), log in with my username and password and check mail. I can also set this mail address up with something like Outlook or Thunderbird. I have not tried setting it up with anything other than the iPhone. If I'm anywhere else, I just log online and look at it there.
I don't see this folder on Horde, but if I access it through Squirrel Mail or some other less-known client, I can see it when editing folders, but not when checking my regular folders (like the left pane shows things like Inbox, Junk Mail, Trash.... the "mailboxlist" folder does NOT appear along with them, but if I go to "Edit Folders", sometimes I'll see it. I can delete it, but it'll come back automatically).

Howto hide a folder (another way than just adding ".")

hello guys!
i often play poker at europoker.net. while playing it creates a folder in my home directory called "OngameNetwork".
When i delete it or hide it, next time i login it will create a new one. so my question is, how can i hide a folder without adding a dot at the beginning/renaming it? i want a system-wide solution, that means ls on console and file-dialogs should not see the folder.
is that possible?

I don't know of any way of doing this. But if it's just that one that bugs you, create another user (say "pokeruser") just for playing that poker, and run the poker application with "su pokeruser -c <appname>". That should run it as pokeruser, and so creating that dir inside pokeruser's home dir.

I hid a folder with terminal and now I can't get it back.

in terminal to hide my "School Work" folder and now I don't know how to get it back!
Could you guys help me out cause there is a lot of data in there!

This will bring it back:

To enable hidden folders/files visibility
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles -bool true ; killall Finder
To reverse:

Authorisation :
Activity = 16 (execute)
Application = all values
Folder = ZOPEX1, ZOPEX2.

TS1382 I have my Christmas music in a folder. When I shuffle my songs, I do not want to hear the Christmas music year round. Can I hide a folder so it wont shuffle with the rest of my music?

I want to be able to have my Christmas folder hiden of sorts...I dont want my Christmas music to shuffle with my regular folders. Can I hide it?

You can use a Smart Playlist.
Create a smart playlist (from the File menu), and name it something like "All Songs - No Hoilday" (or whatever you want). Right (or Control) click it and select Edit Smart Playlist.
Check the checkbox for Match all of the following rules. (Make sure you select all, not any).
     First rule: Kind - contains - "audio file" (without the quotes)
This rule basically puts everything that is not a video on the smart playlist.
Subsequent rules should exclude things you do not want. So in your case, I would use
    Genre - is not - "Podcast" (This excludes podcasts, which would be included.)
    Genre - is not - "Holiday"
(Click the plus sign next to the first rule to add a new rule.)
For that "not holiday" rule to work, you need to change the genre of all of your Christmas songs to be the same. It doesn't have to he Holiday; it can be Christmas or whatever you want it to be. Just make the rule exclude every song with that genre name.
If you have placed all of your Christmas songs into one playlist, you should be able to use this rule instead
     Playlist - is not - <name of that playlist with Christmas songs>
You can add other rules to exclude songs. For my shuffle, I also exclude the genres Classical and Soundtrack.
Check the checkbox for Live updating. Click OK to save the changes.
Once you are happy with the smart playlist, set it as the Autofill folder. The iPod will then select randomly from a list of all of your songs, minus the ones you want excluded.

I think u can have a index.html file in which you can alert the user that he has entered a wrong URL. Give a link to ur home page from that Page.
The tomcat Server searched for theindex.html or index.jsp in that folder and if doesnot find it will list the directory information
There is also another setting in the xml files which I have not done it.
