Hide Applications

I know how to "hide" an individual application and to "hide others" but is there a keyboard command to "hide all" applications that are open?

Correct, but ignoring the fact that the Finder is an application and using the (Apple + Option and Click) method on the Finder, will for all intents and purposes make it seem to most users that all applications have been hidden.

I use Apple + H to hide applications when i'm not using them but i'd like it for the icon not to change to a faded version of itself when i hide it. I know on my Intel Mac Mini it doesn't change the icon but i was wondering if it was possible on my iBook to have the same no-icon-change happen.

Are you talking about the Dock icon for the app? If so, it doesn't do that here. Create a new admin user account, log into it, and see if the problem's gone. If so, then something's amiss with your Dock settings. If not, then it's system-wide and you might consider reinstalling the 10.4.2 COMBO update or, better yet, the 10.4.8 COMBO update.

The url that displays in a live session on the internet displays the application id and the page number.
How can I hide this information from the public user?

It's NOT an APEX problem actually.. It's the server that serves UP apex to your users. Thus, you are having to make changes in the APP SERVERS end of things.. APEX does NOT have ANY CONTROL over ho wits URL is served up...

N95-1 V21.0.016 HIDE APPLICATION ICON AFTER INSTAL...

I used Sandisk 4GB SDHC card with my N95-1 V21.0.016, currently had all my mp3, MV,internet links, photos, wallpapers, software, & games all installed in this 4GB card except "Yahoo Go" in phone memory (as advised by Yahoo), my 4GB card available memory is around 890MB left with 2,989MB used for the above. i found out that original Nokia apllication like "WLAN" icon, "Dictionary" icon, "Search" icon already HIDE in phone ...coz when i go to assign shortcut item, i found there are still exist & still can be assigned shortcut in navigation button but it won't shown in phone menu...anybody know why? I can say that it is pretty good to start a fresh upgrade firmware like V21.0.016 for N95-1 with fresh installing ie not RESTORE from previous firmware back up data...but we had thounand of valuable data ..so what can we do? So when think of this important data , we r sure to restore bac. Once restore sometime depends LUCK..If lucky enough all data restored is OK & workable but not all the time is so good..I already reformat V21.0.016 three times but there is some problem must be happen....tired !

Something you are installing. Some third party application is causing this problem.
Try NOT installing all those games and other applications or install one by one until you find which one is causing the problem.

How can i hide application on login?

Hi guys!i've try to hide on login some application,but this don't work,Mail and iChat show me their window on login...can somebody help me?

Open the Script Editor in the /Applications/AppleScript/ folder and enter the following:

In our CRM application, we have create an iframe to show this apex application using this URL:

I need implement the following in this APEX:

Can you suggest a solution for doing this?
Basically when this APEX application is displayed in our CRM iframe, we want to get rid of logo (part of page header) to save some space.

Hi,
i need to hide the application root directory from the browser, as you can see at these steps example:
1) Http request: www.xxxx.com
2) Apache runs module Alias: redirect www.xxxx.com to www.xxxx.com/somedir/
3) Apache returns www.xxxx.com/somedir/ to the browser
But, i need to change the step 3: Apache must just return "www.xxxx.com" to the browser, instead of ".../somedir". How can i do it?

Is your question related to Web Cache or to access control in general? I'll take a stab at answering the question anyway, in hopes that I understood you correctly.
If you are wondering whether Web Cache supports user/group restrictions on file or directory access, the answer is "not yet". Until that time, requests that require access control should be flagged as non-cacheable, either in the Web Cache configuration or by using Surrogate-Control: no-store in the response headers.

Hide application doesn't work

Think this is an Exposé issue.
Command H to hide an application works on every application on my G5 - but not on my G4 or Powerbook - all running the same system (OSX 3.9) and applications.
I'm sure I had to do something in preferences or whatever to get it to work on the G5 but be blowed if I can remember what!
Any suggestions??

Leopard goes clumsy with HIDE Application function

Since upgrade to Leopard. I noticed some application do not HIDE when press Command + H, or when select the command via Menu.
For example:
I open Mail, iCal and Safari.
Safari is active and in front. Press Command + H, and nothing happens. Then click in Mail icon in the Dock pressing Option. And appears Mail, but the Safari windows remains grayed. I click in the Safari window again, and turn to dark gray as an active application, but the menu shows Finder.
Using Command Tab, go to iCal, and press Option Command + H to view only the iCal window, but Safari is there yet.
Any suggestion will be great.

I also have this clumsy behavior. It definitely has to do with the login-items in your account settings. If applications are added to the login-items and they're not set to 'hide' automatically after start-up, you'll get the strange behavior that they cannot be hidden anymore. However: if you set all those items to be hidden automatically in your account-settings, you will be able to show/hide them afterwards during your session. The workaround thus is: if you start-up applications automatically after login, be sure to hide them automatically also in the same settings pane.

Hide Application in Dock

I have several startup items that I hide. Two of the applications start but then put their icons in the dock. My dock is pretty full as it is and two extra icons only stretch it out even more. Any way to remove the icons and keep the apps running?

Once the application is in use the icon remains on the dock. There is no way to hide it.

Hide application and can't bring it back

Please excuse me if this issue has been covered before, but I'm having a problem when I hide Photoshop CS3 in 10.4.10. If I choose to hide the application, there are times when I can't bring the application to the foreground again. I've tried various techniques to bring the application back up: command tabbing, clicking the icon in the dock, clicking the .app itself. Nothing but a Force Quit will work which is really frustrating when you have a document that hasn't been saved. Many times, it seems that this happens while the document I'm trying to save is in the process of saving and then I hide PS.
Has anyone else experienced this?

This happens to me all the time. It happened in Photoshop CS2 in Tiger, in Photoshop CS3 in Tiger, and now CS3 in Leopard as well. No matter how careful I am I still lose unsaved work in PS at-least twice a week because of it. It's driving me nuts.
You aren't alone. Anyone have any ideas how to Un-hide the app after it's gone away like this? I've even gone so far as to quit every other running app, and then force quit the Finder, figuring that if Photoshop was the only thing running, it would come to the foreground. No such luck.
InDesign has similar problems, but since Indesign has an autobackup feature, I rarely lose work there.

Auto-Hide application?

Hi,
I have an application that runs along the top of users screens horizontally; what i'm looking to do is give users the option to set the application to auto hide so that the majority of that app disappears by sliding upwards, leaving only some menu items visible until the user mouses-over the app, at which point it slides back down to reveal the entire application.
Is this possible in AIR? If so, any assistance in implementing such a function would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I know, by default, preinstalled application and small menu are already on the side (left) and with enabled Auto Hide so the question is why this doesnt work.
Has used moved the menu in the middle on the screen or what?

Spaces: Possible to hide applications from other spaces?

I'm wondering if it's possible when you press alt+tab and see the "application switcher", to show only the applications that are located in your current Space? f.x. if I have 5 applications open, but 2 of them are in the Spaces window number 1, then the application switcher will only give me a list of those two applications.
This is possible on Ubuntu, and is an extremely nice function.

no, this is not possible in OS X. some 3rd party virtual desktop programs might be able to do it, I'm not sure.

P.S. you can use exposé to show all active windows in all applications in the current space. not quite the same thing what you are asking but reasonably close.
