Hide Certain Books from iCloud Family Sharing

How can I hide specific books from being shared on iCloud Family Sharing?
I can see that going to the iBooks app>Store>Purchased on OS X allows me to hide specific books.  But doing that hides the purchase from all my devices as well as all accounts in Family Sharing.  What if I still want to be able to view the purchase myself without them being shared?  Can I enable only specific accounts to be able to view a book while hiding it from other accounts?
Can any of this be done on iOS, or is hiding of anything but iPhone apps only permitted when managing from iTunes or iBooks on a computer?
What about managing sharing of other media like music, TV shows, and Movies?  It looks like hiding any of that can only be done through iTunes on a computer and it hides it from all devices and accounts instead of being able to choose who can view it and who can not.

iTunes doesn't appear in Settings>iCloud because iCloud doesn't sync music, it only let's you access previously purchased music from the iTunes store.  You should be able to share your previously purchased music with other members of the family group from the purchased section of the iTunes store app on their devices, as explained here: Sharing purchased content with Family Sharing.

Can we use more than 1 credit card for icloud family Sharing?
We are grown up, with our own credit cards, own incomes, and own financial.
But we would like to share apps, music, photos, books, vidéos etc.. like any other family.
No one (even the parents) wants to pay for everyone's purchase.
Other question: will it cancel all payment informations from family members account?

not sure about pre-paid cards, but I know you can use 2 different credit cards though, I chatted with an apple rep last night, and she told me I can use 2 credit cards to buy something I wanted on the apple store website, so I acted as if I was buying a macbook air, went to checkout, and there was in fact the option of using 2 cards, which I thought was crazy since so many people have said that you can not use 2 cards. I'm glad I asked a rep

  • Setting up iCloud family sharing. Why can I not use my iTunes as a valid payment method?

Why is iTunes card not a option under payment method. I am wanting to setup iCloud Family Sharing. But I need to give Apple a credit card which I do not have. That is why I use the iTunes card and redeem the money. If it is good enough to use iTunes card when making purchase from Apple iTunes store then why is it not an option when setting up iCloud Family Sharing account.

You're allowed play the music on up to 5 devices. Each device must be authorised. Unless you can connect the xbox to the apple store to be authorised, you will not be able to play the music on it.

  • Deleting books from icloud

I don't know how to delete books from icloud, help!!!!!!!!

If you mean delete them from your purchased list, you can't.  All you can do is hide them if you don't want to see them.  See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919.

  • ICloud family sharing and iTunes Match

    Apple,
I have setup iCloud family sharing accounts for my household as it is definitely a more convenient way to 'approve' of apps for my kids' devices. Unfortunately, I discovered that Apple has not included the ability to share iTunes Match content to family users. This creates a problem as the kids don't have separate computers and I don't intend to create separate iTunes libraries for them on the same computer where I would end up having duplicate libraries. Even if I accept that issue I would have to subscribe to match for 4 people in my house to the tune of $99.96 a year. This is NOT feasible and so now I find my self evaluating the benefit/future need for even my iTunes Match subscription. At this point, I am moving all of my music that was "matched" to my NAS and will have everyone access it using an iOS app. The thing is that this doesn't fit the, "it just works" commitment that Apple offered to it's users. It may be that you are limited by the labels/RIAA and they will not allow you to pass the matched content through family sharing but you are making a compelling case for my to just drop my Match subscription even though I have subscribed to it since you first offered it. My subscription is up for renewal in January 2015 so let's see if you fix this issue by then.

    Hi,
You are not addressing Apple here. This is a user to user forum. Suggest you provide feedback to Apple https://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

  • HT201079 Under iCloud family sharing for iTunes is a family member other than the organizer able to make purchases

Under iCloud family sharing for iTunes is a family member other than the organizer able to make purchases?

Any member of the family group can make purchases, but they are all charged to the organizer's credit card.  For children (under 13) you can also enable Ask to Buy, and their purchases will require your approval (see Family Sharing and Apple IDs for kids).

  • Download books from icloud

i cant download my books from icloud onto my other account

Purchased books and other media can only be downloaded from iTunes in the Cloud when signed into the Apple ID used to purchase them (in Settings>iTunes & App Store).  Also, you can't download purchased media from a different ID more often than every 90 days.
If you need to access them from another iTunes account, download them to iTunes on your Mac, then sync them to your devices instead of trying to use iTunes in the Cloud.

  • How do I hide magazines/books from purchased items?

I have tried to delete past magazines and books but it seems it´s not possible and the only thing that can be done is hiding them. I have searched on how to do it but since the ibooks got separated from iTunes it´s not the same. Can anyone help me hide the magazines (from Newstand) and books I no longer want? I don´t want them to appear on my purcharse history too if possible.

    Hey there aj133,
It sounds like there are some purchases you want to have hidden from others on your Family Shared account. Once you have the content downloaded onto the device(s) you want them on, you can use this article to hide them. Hiding them does not remove them from devices they are already downloaded to:
iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases
    Hide your purchases
Open iTunes on your Mac or PC.
From the Store menu, choose Store > Sign In, and then enter your Apple ID and password.
    Go to the iTunes Store.
Click Purchased from the Quick Links section on the right side of the iTunes Store.
Choose a content type by clicking Music, Movies, TV Shows, Apps, or Books from the top of the window.
A list of your purchased items for the content type you are viewing will appear. Mouse over the item you want to hide until an X appears its top-left corner.
A confirmation dialog will appear once you click the X.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Regards,
    Sterling

  • ICloud Family Sharing - no iTunes shown?

Why can't I view or share with my family my music from iTunes? Photos, movies are sharing. The iTunes icon does not show on my iCloud settings on my phone.I

  • HT5557 How do I permanently delete books from iCloud?

Trying to delete books from iBooks/iCloud.  Help.

You can't permanently delete any items from your purchase history, all you can do is hide them so that they don't show in the Purchased links for redownloading : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919 - with apps and iOS 7, after hiding them on my computer's iTunes I've been having to then log out of my account on my devices and then log back for them to be hidden on that device.
If ibooks that are only in the cloud are showing on the bookshelf in the iBooks app then you can turn that off via Settings > iBooks > Show All Purchases 'off'

  • Remove books from iCloud

Is it possible to remove a book I have bought, from iCloud?

You can't actually fully remove them from your account, but depending on what you are after, there are a couple of thing you can do:
If you want to simply keep them from showing in your collections: open iBooks, tap Books (or what ever collection your are currently in) turn ON Hide iCloud Books. http://help.apple.com/ipad/8/#/iPad5ecae3c6
To hide individual titles, you will need iTunes running on a computer. this is done from the Purchased section.

  • ICloud Family Sharing - can't purchase apps with iTunes Credit

My wife and I previously shared the same AppleID on our phones.   When the family sharing became available, it seemed the perfect approach for what we were accomplishing.  I upgraded my wife's phone to 8.x and then moved her back to the Apple ID that I had initially created for her.  I invited her to join the family and completed that setup.
We then had some iTunes gift cards that she had received and so loaded those to her iTunes account (wife's AppeID) on her iPad.  However, when we attempt to purchase apps on her iPad, it insists on purchasing from my AppleID via my credit card rather than using the iTunes credit.
Any suggestions?  I've seen posts that iTunes credit cannot be transferred.

Nope, not actually. The only restrictions Alberta places on gift cards are the following:
    * Not allow expiry dates on gift cards, gift certificates, and vouchers that have been purchased and have monetary value
    * Eliminate inactivity fees, also called dormancy fees, that reduce the value of gift cards the longer they go unredeemed
    * Prevent businesses from not honouring gift cards for purchases that are
more or less than the value of a gift card
    * Require merchants to fully disclose any restrictions on use of a gift card on both the actual card and its packaging
To further my point, Apple definately does not abide by the last law (at least in the rest of Canada), as they say nothing on the card or its packaging about not being able to buy apps with it.

  • ICloud Family Sharing

I have set up Family Sharing with 3 other people in my family.  I am the organiser.
Two members of the family have identical iPads running IOS 8.1.2.  One of them can see my purchased films and download them whilst the other cannot.  It says that I do not have any purchases to share
I have checked that I am sharing all my purchases off my iMac (running Yosemite).  All members of the family can be seen on both devices.
The iPad user with a problem has logged out and back in to the iTunes store and out and back into iCloud but nothing has changed. I have also logged in and out of both to no avail.
The only thing different with the user with a problem is that her iCloud account is a free one.  All the others are existing paid-up mac.com account holders.
Has anyone any idea what more I can do as family sharing under these circumstances doesn't work?
    Regards
    Alison
