Hide Characteristic in the filter

Hello all,
Is there any possibility to hide a characteristic in the filter?
For example I am doing a query on a multiprovider and I want to use in the filter the 0INFOPROVIDER to restrict to only the used cubes. But I want to hide this in the report.
Pls help,

Hi Ramona,
You can't hide Characterstics in the report result set as you do for Key figures.Any Way You are keeping 0INFOPROV in the Filter Area, and restrict with some of Infocubes. When you execute the query this characterstic willn't be shown in the Report but restriction will be applied.

How can I delete the filter bar in TB?

In earlier versions of TB you could hide the filter bar. How can I do this in the new version? I do not want it to show.

From the Menu Bar select View-Toolbars and uncheck it.
No menu bar? Press the alt key.
Using the AppMenu button hover over Options until the toolbar choices appear and uncheck it.

Switching off the filter area in Workbook 3.5

Hi guys,
how can I switch off the filter area in the old version of the analyzer workbook 3.5.
This area is always on the left part of the workbook on the top.
In this workbook I need only the table with the result.

Hi Erwin,
As I know you can hide the filter for key figures but there is no way to hide the characteristics filter. The only option is do not include any characteristics in Free characteristics or row area (not a feasible option in many cases) but if you don't want any characteristics data then you can go for this option.

SSRS charts visibility as per the filter

Hi;
I have two chart to display on SSRS say Chart A and Chart B
I need to display chart as per the selection of output in the filter
Chart A should be diplayed with output = Start on Scheme
Chart B should be diplayed with output = Pre Start Assist
If both the output are selected both charts should be displayed
Any help on this much apprecited

Hi Pradnya07,
After testing the issue in my environment, we can refer to the steps below to achieve your requirement.
Right-click the chart A to open the Chart Properties dialog box.
Select Visibility in the left pane, type the expression below in the “Show or hide based on an expression” textbox:
=iif(InStr(join(Parameters!Output.Value,","),"Start on Scheme")>0,false,true)
Use the expression below to control the visibility of the chart B:
=iif(InStr(join(Parameters!Output.Value,","),"Pre Start Assist")>0,false,true)
Please note that the Output parameter should be a multiple parameter.

How to hide one of the unions from the results?

Hi all,
I have a graph which contains 5 unions. The top query is used to pass the functions and the other 4 are the ones that really doing the caclutaions. Is there any way to hid one query from results?

Hiding based on what? If it is a prompt, assign a presentation variable and add a condition to the filter of your desirable result-set in a structure like:
CASE WHEN '@{myPresentationVariable}{DefaultValue}' = 'WhateverValueIWant' THEN 1 ELSE 0 END = 1

Hide Section where the data in section in NUll

I have read a couple of threads but my issues still persists. I am using Business Object XI (infoview) I want a report to show printers by the model of printer, I have created an object called Model which is based on 2 other fields (both have model details in them. I set the Model field as the section and the report shows as below
Model 1
Serial Number / Receive date / Manufacturer
Model 2
Null
Model 3
Serial Number / Receive date / Manufacturer
I want to be able to remove "model 2" from the report. I go to the section properties and go to display, I " un tick show null field" and I go to 'Hide section when the following are empty' and check this but the only options I am given in the drop down are the model or block1 when I select either or both the section that I want to suppress is still visible.
Is there a way to get any other values in this dropdown, I have read about something called hide block but I am not sure what this is or even if it is an option in Business Objects?

Hi Adam,
I had the same problem myself and have found out how to resolve it.
To hide a section where the data in the section is null you need to apply a filter on the data at the report level, not the section or table level if you had a table in your section.
In Infoview (which is Webi in a web browser, usually displayed in HTML):
1. Go into Edit mode
2. In the left pane click on the 'Document Structure and Filters' button
3. Add a new filter at the report level (not on the section or the table) to filter the null data out (in your case WHERE Model Is Not Null)
Your report should now only show you the sections that actually contain any data.

Removing attributes of a characteristic in the Universe designer

We are using a SAP delivered characteristic (e.g., 0CUSTOMER), it has a lot of attributes associated with it and when we use that characetistic in the Bex query (into the Free characteristics section). We built a universe on top of this Bex query and we could see all the attributes of that particular characteristic in the Designer as well. Is there any way to remove the ones which we are not using for BO reports.
if it is not possible to remove those objects from the universe designer, will it impact the performance of the Webi reports (or any other BO reports)??

Delete them from the universe - click on it, press the Delete key.
You may be better off hiding them first though - right-click, choose Hide, just in case they are used and you aren't aware that they are.

Hide one column when filter applied on dimension

My client has his weird requirement. She wants to hide one measure in pivot table when the filter is used for one dimension. Is there any way this can be achieved by MDX?

Sorry for the misleading.
However, what they want is not hide the unit level for the measure. They wanted the entire [Measures].[YourMeasureName] to be null or blank when only some units of the unit level are select.
Foe example, when I use filter in my pivot table to select only campus X, dept Y, branch Z, and Unit U1 (there are U1, U2, U3 in branch Z), the entire column [Measures].[YourMeasureName] disappear or null.
I know it sounds crazy and confusing. But that's what they want.
Any suggestion?

How to make a report to display next 18 months of data with when user select a particular month from the filter in power pivot tabular model.

i have a dimension table with month_key having values (201201,201202,201203.......202011,202012) and month name ( Jan 12, feb 12,......NOV 20, Dec 20) and a fact table with columns (month_key ,measure_types, Amount)
My requirement is to create a power pivot report in which when a user select a month from the filter, the report should display the (selected month+18 ) month's data against each type . when JAN 12 is selected ,the jan 2012 +18 = june 2013
, month name should be populated with months till june 2013 only .
i tried creating calculated column"END DATE " in the fact table with dax expression to calculate the 18th monh from the current month as below
month_key END DATE
201201       201306
201202       201307
and thought of filtering the table with month key <= ENDDATE but it is not working as expected. could you please guide me on this ? Is there any time intelligence function that serve the purpose . Iam using excel 2010
..hence could not do any calculation on the report side also. please suggest .

Do you need to show the measure calculated for those 18 months as a total on 1 row, or do you need to select a single month and then display on row filters 18 distinct rows?
The first is trivial as driezl has suggested.
The second will require a second calendar table.
I created this example workbook for a coworker who had a similar problem. You will have to use the disconnected table as your filter and pull your related table onto the rows.
Finally, the easiest way to deal with the sort of date arithmetic you need to do is to restructure your date table to have a series of "Sequential" fields. These fields should be the number of units of time since the beginning of your calendar.
For example, consider a calendar starting on January 1, 2010. For January - December 2010, [MonthSequential] = 1, 2, ..., 12. For January - December 2011, [MonthSequential] = 13, 14, ..., 24, and so on, incrementing by 1 for each sequential month in time.
Assuming you have this set up in your date tables (one related to your model - DimDate - and one disconnected - DisconDimDate) your measure would look like this:

, DimDate[MonthSequential] >= MAX( DisconDimDate[MonthSequential] )

Error in Report Runtime, if I click the filter icon in Free Charecteristics

I am getting error message "System error in program CL_RSR_WWW_RENDERER and form GET_FILTER_VALUES_CH" if I click the filter icon which is in free char area of the report.
If I run the same in RSRT, I am getting ABAP error "- Break-point"

You want to press Alt+I to jump to a certain column in a "data grid"? Is this for ASP.Net, Windows Forms or WPF? In Winforms, there is the old DataGrid and the newer DataGridView. Which one do you use?
Are you referring to a combo box inside a DataGridView or a standalone Combobox?

Required to show free characteristic in the background job

We have a query format that started with chacteristic company code, plant follow by key figures. We define 0material as a free characteristic in the query. Currently, users would like to schedule this query in the background with the format for company code, plant, 0material follow by key figures. Can we acheive it when we schedule the query in the background with free l characteristic 0material show in the format instead of creating another new report with additional characteristic 0material added?

Well if was workbook using a pre calcualation server we could have achieved what you desired..
I am afraid you would have to build a new Query with Material in column for your requirement

Not other than parental oversight. On the computer you can implement Parental Controls on a separate user account that they would use. You can then block certain websites. But you cannot do that on the iPad.
You could change your iTunes account such that they cannot access it in order to buy or download apps.

This cannot be done unless these characterstics are related to each other in some way as Charactertics & Display Attributes.
The reason being when you drill down the 0cust_sales , there is no link from 0Cust_sales to the other characterstics hence there is no prompt for these characterstics to be drilled down.
However, a smiliar thing might be acheived by adding these chareacterstics into the 0cust_sales in teh query designer by dragging n dropping them over 0cust_sales. you can try this and see if this is close to your requiremetn.
