Hide/collapse iTunes Store in navigation on left

Hi, I have a lot of playlists and whatnot on the navigation bar on the left in iTunes 10 (where it says Library, Store, Genius, Plaslists) - so it's important for me to be able to hide things to safe space + access things I use the most.
When I hover over the Genuis heading, or Playlists, it's possible to hide them... but not for iTunes Store... is there some Terminal hack to enable this hiding? (Like disabling the arrows next to songs, etc.)
Here's what I mean:

I just had a similar problem with iTunes 10.1. I normally keep the store turned off, to keep things decluttered in the lefthand sidebar. Turned it on today to look at something and then couldn't get it turn off again, despite repeated attempts to reset the parental controls preferences, which claimed the store was off. Even after quitting iTunes and restarting, I couldn't get the store to turn off.
My solution was quitting iTunes, trashing the preferences, and getting an earlier set of prefs from my Time Machine backup disk.
Are others having this problem with iTunes?

I don't know how FireFox would be involved... iTunes Store is accessed from within the iTunes application. What happens when you run iTunes and click on iTunes Store in the sidebar (left side of iTunes window)?

Nothing happens when I click on any app in the iTunes Store

I launched my iTunes and clicked on iTunes Store link on the left. The iTunes Store home page loaded as usual. However when I tried clicking on various apps to view their details, nothing happened. Occasionally the "Accessing iTunes Store" message appears in the status window for a split second but even after it went away I am still on the iTunes home page.
I can still download apps, but only if they have a price or free button next to their titles. Also, I am able to search for apps. But likewise, nothing happens when I click on the search results to view the apps' details.

Try setting Firefox as the Default Browser.

Error -50 when starting iTunes Store

I'm running the newest version of iTunes on a Windows XP machine and iTunes itself seems to work, but evertime I hit the iTunes Store button on the left side I get an error message stating 'We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-50).

Just in case, even though you're running a newer version of iTunes, let's try the following document:

Why won't the iTunes store load!!!

When I click on the "iTunes Store" button on the left hand side of the screen, there is a blank page and the loading bar says "Accessing iTunes Store", it gets half way and then freezes. However sometimes, it does load but there is no formatting on. I am sure it is not my firewall because I have checked and it is not my Internet connection because it works on other computers running windows 7. I have tried re downloading and repairing the software but nothing has happened.Please could someone help me because it is really annoying. P.S. I have never been able to access it since i got my laptop.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Why am I unable to hide purchases in the iTunes store?

When I click the "X" to hide purchases/songs in the iTunes Store they dissapear but they are back again when I leave and come back to the page.
I tried to do it from my iPhone but when I swipe left or right on a song in the purchased section no hide button appears.
Has anyone had a similar problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There have been a number of posts about it over the last few days, and I can't hide or unhode things either - I assume that it's a problem at Apple's end.
If your phone is on iOS6 then it's not currently supported on that anyway, but until a few days ago you've still been able to do it via your computer's iTunes.

You can try contacting iTunes Support and ask them if they can remove the balance from your account so that you can change countries : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

Is there any way to stop the top from scrolling left in the iTunes store?

The top part of the iTunes store...where it lists new stuff keeps swiping left. It's driving me crazy! How can I stop it?

You can't . It is used as a carousel to display new items. If it annoys you then scroll down the window until it dissapears and you will have a static displays of new Music, Movies etc

My itunes page has been replaced by a small window in the upper left hand corner of the desktop. i can control my music, but cannot access radio, itunes store etc. ie can only play my music in a random order that i cannot control. i am unable to return

i was listening to the radio on i tunes and suddenly the itunes page dissapeared and a small window appeared in the upper left hand side of the desktop. i can control only my music via this window which has a search fwd and back arrow and a play and pause button. there is also a volumn set to full. i can control my music by the volumn control at the top rt of all pages. i want to access the itunes store and the radio, but cannot (can access the itunes store by googleing it.

My guess is remaining balance on a gift card. I've never seen my credit card balance show up in iTunes or the app store. I don't think Apple can show that legally.

Where did the Music navigation tab in the iTunes store go?

Regarding the iTunes store navigation tabs on the top, why is that I only see tabs for podcasts, iTunes U and app store but not for music, movies, etc? This is really troubling and I wonder whether anyone is having the same problem.

Navigating iTunes store movies in iPad

OK, I hope I am missing something, but this is driving me a bit mad.
Is it possible to navigate the iTunes Store movies and TV collection by genre, on your iPad? It is possible within iTunes on the Mac, but I cannot for the life of me find a way to do it on the iPad.
All I can do is see the top charts, or a Genius list, or Featured ... but there seems to be no way to choose to browse, for example, all movies in the Family genre.
Can anyone help? Am I just being particularly dense today?

I know that content differs from country to country depending upon laws and restrictions of the country and the content being licensed in that country, but it seems that the button should be there if you have the Movies tab in iTunes in the music section. Typically, if content is not available, the tab will not show up at all.
Try doing a search for anything in the movies section and then cancel the search. See if the button shows up. Try quitting iTunes completely as well and then try again. This is a copy and paste that I keep handy for quick "generic" fixes. You can try these as well.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quitting iTunes - Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

ITunes Store layout is messed up - everything is squished to the left hand side

This is a repost of a problem someone else had and I'm seeing the same problem. I hoping to get an answer for both of us.
So thats what my itunes store is looking like, it's been like that for a month probably now. I've tried to find an answer to how to fix it but I couldn't find one anywhere so now I'm asking myself. All the links are blue, everything is pushed to the left, it looks like it was made in a word document really. Please help.
