Hide Configuration
Hi All,
Background: Client is live on ECC 6.0 and users want to see ONLY the values that they can choose from.
Question:
Has anyone removed/suppressed unwanted configuration (table values) values without deleting underlying configuration? What are the pros and cons of doing this? Are there any SAP Support issues?
Examples:
Remove all company codes that are not client related from display.
Remove all payment terms that are not used by the client from display
Please reply ASAP.
Thanks,
Siva
If you look through OSS you'll find several OSS notes that would disagree with you. 34879 is a good example.
From a usability standpoint, I would love to hear someone substantiate an argument that seeing a list of 30 system delivered charts of accounts is a good thing. Because it's not. There is practically nothing of value in any of the delivered objects (such as the 30+ country specific controlling areas) that an end user would ever see in a drop-down list. If you want to increase the chances that users will start making postings incorrectly, then flood the system with data that is incomplete and not relevant for that installation... and while we're at it, make sure that every field on all of the master records is wide open too. It's not supposed to work that way... the system should be tailored to the customer's needs as much as possible and if they don't work in Bulgaria, then they shouldn't see anything about Bulgaria.

Adjustment Panel Auto Hide Configuration
Hi,
in Lightroom 3, it is very easy to accidentally hide the adjustment panels when trying to scroll them up or down.
This happens when one attempts to click on the adjustment panel slider but instead accidentally hits the area immediately to its right, referred to as "Adjustment Panel Auto Hide Area" in the following discussion. This area shows a little arrow and is used to hide and show the adjustment panels.
Usability improvement suggestions:
1) Allow the user to disable the auto-hide feature of the adjustment panel via Edit / Preferences... / Interface / Adjustment Panel.
2) Dito, but configuration of the auto-hide feature via a new entry in the context-sensitive menu of the Adjustment Panel Auto Hide Area. The menu could offer a new checkbox "Auto Hide Toggle". If enabled, the current default behaviour is active and a left click in the Adjustment Panel Auto Hide Area shows or hides the Adjustment Panel. If disabled, a left click has no effect.
In my workflow, I use two screens. One screen shows the image in full size, the other one shows the various adjustment panels which I never switch off. I just scroll them up or down. Being able to toggle the current default behaviour would make the product more usable to me.
Thanks
ChristianThat is great!! I have done every steps of the tutorial but I have a problem:
When I hide the playbar, the animation is paused and when the mouse is over the playbar , the animation continue.
What do you think about it?

Hide Volume als Login Item doesn't work
Hi folks!
When I login into my account on my mac all network volumes appear despite the hide-configuration in login items. Are there any ways to resolve that issue?
Thanks...

New flash player release breaks old installed flash player
Hi there all
I work in a school in the UK and we have a very odd problem with flash player. When a new flash player is released it will stop the older flash player from working.
This happens on IE 7 and 8 (all XP)
For example on one of our PCs it states that "You have version 10,0,42,34 installed" if you go to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ (latest version being 10.0.45.2 at time of post), but this has stopped any flash content from working.
On youtube it states "Hello, either you have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player. "
On BBC iPlayer it states "You need to install Flash to play [name of video]"
We have given all staff restricted accounts and all students very restricted accounts so they cannot simply install itself.
We currently deploy the flash player via group policy but that doesn't help us when we have people baying for our blood because some teaching resources will not work
Anybody seen anything like this before? Could it be a group policy setting perhaps???
Thanks in advance
BMCCHey to everyone
i found the answer in terms of allowing staff to upgrade themselves.
I have made a GPO with the following registry and file perms settings. I have given permission to members of office and staff sec groups which covers all of our staff. Then apply this gpo either the top level domain or to each OU where you have PCs that you would like staff to be able to upgrade flash for you.
2010 - Enable users to install/update flash

Side-by-side pages on full screen mode
With adobe reader 8.1.x for Linux (Ubuntu 8.04), you can visualize side-by-side pages in full screen mode. With reader 9.1.2, you can't. When you click on "side-by-side page" button, then "full screen" button, the program returns to "single page" visualization. It's annoying because I can't take advantage of my 32“ 16:9 monitor/tv. Is there any hide configuration to enable Side-by-side pages on full screen mode?
Go Edit -> Preferences -> Full Screen then unckeck Fill screen with one page at a time.

I have setup a form for our students' families to submit payments, with the options of cash/check/credit/PayPal. The form has radio button options for their payment choice, but once I configured PayPal with the form, it will not allow submission without going thru PayPal. I would prefer to have the PayPal checkout be "Show/Hide" configurable, based upon their selection in the payment choice radio buttons.
Thanks,
AndyI did try that, but I can't get the logic to work. There are multiple purchase fields (different items with different payment amounts), and I added another purchase field that was keyed to the payment type selection (cash/check/PayPal, set to $0), and it still generates only a PayPal checkout button, even if PayPal is not selected as the payment type. Perhaps it would work differently if there was only 1 payment item/amount, and we could use the payment type choice to control the PayPal actions (I am guessing that is what the work around was referring to), but that is not an option for us.
As for now, it appears that the only way we can use PayPal is to tell folks to manually go to PayPal and send us the funds. An extremely clumsy process, but there does not appear to be any other options offered thru FormsCentral (a real missed opportunity). -
Srm 7.0 - Hide field in web dynpro using configurations
Hello to all,
I'm trying to hide some fields on PO web dynpro. In this example on web dynpro /SAPSRM/WDC_DODC_PO_I_BD I start the component configuration /SAPSRM/WDCC_DODC_PO_I_BD, I search for the fields I want to hide and put the visibility attribute to Invisible and I mark final check box.
The fields don't dessapear from the web dynpro. Am I missing something?
Best regards,
NachoThanks for your reply.
I have here two situations:
SPRO. If I add the field on Configure Field Control at Header Level/Item Level it disapears but not all fields appear on this transaction. For example, I can't do that to tolerance group (TOL_GP)
Webdynpro. Using Component Configuration of the dynpro. I guess that it is in two actions:
- Change the value of visibility to Invisible on Web dynpro Built-In
- Add field to context. I put for this example:
Attributes of the Element usagesDefinition (ITEM_TOL.TOL_GP)
usageName ITEM_TOL.TOL_GP
componentName ITEM_TOL.TOL_GP
ConfigurationName /SAPSRM/WDCC_DODC_PO_I_BD
The webdynpro way doesn't work, Am I missing something?
Best regards,

How to hide preview configurator summary page when launching configurator from iStore
Hi,
We have a requirement to hide preview configuration summary page in iStore whereas it should be visible when launching from other host applications. We tried doing it with help of usage functionality as below.
1) Create a usage with some name say “iStore” in configurator.
2) Take copy of summary with Status region template and add display condition to hide the summary region.
3) Take copy of the model active ui and attach the above template to it.
4) Publish the model with this new copy UI and usage as iStore to the host application.(There will be 2 publications one with this usage and other with normal)
5) Enable the profile CZ:Publication usage at application/responsibility levels for iStore.
With the above approach users are concerned that we need to maintain 2 User Interfaces in Configurator and each time any change has to be done both the user interfaces needs to be changes which will not be a feasible option in case of complex models. We would like to know if there is any other approach to hide this summary page from istore.
We are on R12.1.3 and are using fusion configurator engine.
Any suggestions on customizations/approach will be appreciated.Create a Dynamic Action:
When
Event: Page Load
Condition: -No Condition -
True Actions
Action: Hide
Selection Type: jQuery Selector
Affected Elements: #t20PageHeader
Condition
Condition Type: Request = Expression 1
Expression 1: CRM -
How to hide variant configuration screen in sales order
Hi Friends,
Could you please help : how to hide variant configuration screen in sales order for a configured material
RanjanHi
The very purpose of VARIANT CONFIGURATION is to for this material these are the characteristics available
In this you choose one characteristic then these are the values available
If you make a choice then this is the price
Means Maruthi car is the product
Say 800
Alto
Zen
These are characteristics
In this you choose say black, cherry red, white these are the values
When you put a sales order for Maruthi car then if it is 800 black colour then price is X
if it is 800 white colour then price is y
So that according to the choice of the customer the pricing and other details are fetched
Why do you want to defeat the very purpose of VARIANT CONFIGURATION
Rather than listing out of the whole product list the system simplifies the thing
Without that popup variant configuration is meaningless
Regards
Raja

Is there a way to hide or disable settings in Apple configurator
Is there a way to hide or disable settings in Apple configurator because the students are resetting them.
Sorry but no, there is at present no way to hide or disable the Settings app, nor any of the settings within that app not included in the Restrictions. Schools at this time basically just have to get used to the idea that you have to restore the iPads from time to time, or use one of the MDM solutions that allow you to push out settings remotely.

We need to do a mass deployment of Adobe Reader XI 11.0.3 with "Always hide forms document message bar" preference setting automatically set for every user so they do not have to go through the menu and set it manually.
Is there a way to configure this for all users with the customization wizard or another method?
We also need to do the same for "Do not show edit warnings"
If these are registry keys, which registry keys set these options?Try http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/PrefRef/Windows/DocumentStatus.html?zoom _highlight=message#idkeyname_1_5647.
If that doesn't work and there's a configuration item in the preferences UI, do this:
Get regshot.
Close everything but Acrobat/Reader.
Take a reg shot.
Configure the setting via the UI.
Tak another reg shot.
Compare the two.
That process will give you your answer.
If there is no corresponding pref in the UI, then you probably can't do it.

Is it possible to hide "Erase All Content and Settings" using Apple Configurator?
How we can hide "Erase All Content and Settings" button from iPod devices using Apple Configurator? we have purchased these devices under enterprise deployment.
not at all. for the moment we handle this problem by writing an image everytime we (think we) have to update the itunes u content. an update becomes necessary when users give us the iPad back and we recognize that there is good new stuff on it or whenever colleagues tell us to do so.
With a new rollout of this image we offer new itunes u content on our iPads. -
Hide / Remove access to Organization Configuration in Exchange Management console Ex 2010
Hello,
I am planning to give EMC access to helpdesk and modified Helpdesk Role so that they have Mail Recipient Creation and Mail Recipents Assigned roles.
Helpdesk are able to created new and also modify exixiting mail enabled objects fine.
My boss wants me Hide / Remove access to Organization Configuration in Exchange Management console Ex 2010 as they are able to edit Client access policies. Is this possible ?
Thanks,
Ne0Hi,
Please use the following cmdlet to check the permission of Helpdesk support group on all management roles.
Get-ManagementRoleAssignment -GetEffectiveUsers | Where { $_.EffectiveUserName -Eq "Helpdesk support group" }
Then you can remove some unnecessary permissions of the Helpdesk support group.
Hope it helps.
If there is any problem, please feel free to let me know.
Best regards,
Amy

Hide field using a different configuration, is this the only way?.
I know that I can control which configuration is used by inserting code into the do_config_determination method, but is that really the only way?. I don't want to have to even more copies of the configuation showing or not showing this particular field. Surely there must be a way of hiding the field within this method without changing the configuation set being used?.
I just can't believe that there is no way around this.
Now I know that using standard configuration can take care of this, but what if you had a screen with lets say 30 fields or which 5 are dynamic, in other words are either diplayed or to be hidden. The combination of on and off states for these 5 fields being either displayed or hidden would mean that you would gradually build a huge number of screen configurations. Hence the need to hide via coding. Does that seem logical?
Jas.
Edited by: Jason Stratham on Sep 8, 2009 2:08 PMOne of the suggested solutions was to create one line views and display them beneath the main view. We can the determine (via code) whether these views are displayed via view sets. This in effect allows us to have multiple fields that can be either displayed or hidden depending on some kind of routine/logic.
