Hide Email in Web Gallery

Hi,
I created a web gallery with feedback in Photoshop Cs2 and uploaded into my webpage using Dreamweaver cs3.  What I want is a way (code, script) to hide private email address on the form from viewers but still allow to be emailed.  How do you do this?
Thanks

Hi Becky,
I think the best solution is a contact form. Your email address will never be displayed to the public, but the server side script will enable your visitors to contact you. If you are not very familiar with php you may want to have a look at this great tutorial which offers the solution out of the box.

  • Problems Emailing to Web Gallery From Camera Phone

    I have a Sony Ericcson camera phone that has a mail client which I have set up to use GMail for both incoming and outgoing mail. I can't seem to get Web Gallery to accept the picture emails I send from the phone. The only thing I can conclude is that the server accepting the emails has problems parsing the message. I can use my desktop computer to send the image to Web Gallery, so it's there's nothing wrong with the image itself. I've also tried configuring my phone to use an AT&T mail server to send the picture, but have the same problems, so it's not the mail servers. I've also sent a full sized image (2 megapixels) as well as a small version (640x480) to see if it's related to file size, but they fail as well. Interestingly enough, I can send videos that I take from my phone to Web Gallery and it gets posted, so I figure it's not the phone.
    Has anyone else encountered this problem? I've included the failure notice email I get back from the Web Gallery mail servers below if it can help diagnose the problem. Thanks.

    After many trial and errors, I figured out that the web gallery mail servers were choking because the filenames my phone gives photos have capital ".JPG" extensions. If I change them to lowercase, the pictures get posted. Unfortunately, I can't rename the files inside the phone and need to transfer them out to my mac via bluetooth before I can rename it. To solve the problem for myself, I created an email address on another hosted website that pipes mail to a script that rewrites the problematic portions before sending it to my web gallery. It's somewhat of a roundabout way of doing it, but it works for now.
    Hopefully the web gallery mail servers will be corrected to handle this situation.

  • How can I email a saved watermarked photo in my web gallery without the watermark disappearing?

    When I email a photo uploaded from my web gallery in Photoshop Lightroom, it disappears from the photo.  What am I not doing?  Thanks.

    Check your Export dialog:
    Do you have it configured like this?

  • Emailing photos to a web gallery

    I've noticed that when pictures get added to a gallery via email, the photo name that displays is the subject heading of the email, instead of the name of the photo file. Is there a way to change the display of photos in web gallery to display the photo file name? Is there a way to add captions to photos in web gallery so there can be more meaningful information about the picture?

    Don't know if this helps you at all. It's not LR of course.....
    In CS2 Adobe added two Flash-based templates you can use for your online Web Photo Gallery. Even cooler is the fact that you can now add a background music track to one of these Flash galleries. Just follow these steps: First find the MP3 audio track you want to use as your background music and rename the file as "useraudio.mp3". Then open your Photoshop CS2 application folder and navigate to Presets>Web Photo Gallery. Inside that folder look for either Flash Gallery 1 or Flash Gallery 2. Depending on which gallery you chose within Photoshop, drag-and-drop your audio file into the corresponding folder. That's it! You've got background music.

  • Lightroom Web Gallery which Allows Users to Select and Email Their Photo Choices

    Does this exist......
    A gallery option which allows users to click the photos they want, then easily email those photo numbers to a certain email address?
    Thanks!

    I found the error on another thread. You can likely search for the other thread by using "Web Gallery Restore".
    Apple support helped another user resolve the issue in 30 minutes on the phone. The problem is evidently due to the order in which I added the .Mac account to my iPhone vs. applying 1.01 update, vs. iLife 08 update.
    The solution was to Restore my iPhone and then select NEW SETTING (not previous backup settings). Then, I setup my .Mac email address on iPhone. Then publish a new WebGallery in iPhoto 08 and ensure upload privilege is checked. Finally, sync with the Mac which enabled the WebGallery button (yea!) and restored contacts, calendar and other email accounts.
    The only thing not retained was my wallpaper, usage statistics, and notes (none of these are a big deal).

  • Email lists for web gallery notifications

    Hello everyone,
    How can I have a saved email list of people that I can send out notifications of new web galleries instead of having to do one by one in the "tell a friend" field of the web gallery?
    I hope there is a way...
    Thanks!

    Create a group in your Address Book and use you're usual email client. Want the actual link? Send yourself a notification and copy it from that.

  • Web Gallery Hide Options

    How can I have a Web Gallery Album open with the options at the top not showing?

    Here's a work-around: Embed your .Mac Web Gallery album page directly into a web page. The instructions to do this in iWeb are here:
    http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=2007111620013523&mode=print
    ...then +Insert > Shape > Rectangle+
    Now change the rectangle's dimensions and position it over whatever parts of the Web Gallery you want to hide and color-fill it black.

  • Movies to Web Gallery from email

    I've looked around and there are some posts on this matter but nothing that can seem to answer my particular question.
    I have a G4 PowerBook so iMovie 08 won't work with me. I understand that if I enable email uploads to my Web Gallery I may be able to email a movie to it. I have a 7mb movie but it won't go. The attachment allowance is now 20mb on the email. Is there a maximum size for Web Gallery? Or is the maximum size only an issue if the move is emailed?
    Alternatively, is there another way to achieve what I want to do? I have heard that it's possible to upload it straight from iPhoto, is this true? I can't try yet as I'm in work and need to wait until I get home.
    Any advice would be gratefully received.
    Thanks.

    It's not really an iWeb issue.

  • Can't get "Send to web gallery" option to work on the iPhone.

    I have been trying to get the "Send to web gallery button" to work on my iPhone for a few weeks now. I managed to get it to work once. I was directed to delete the gallery on iPhoto ’08 and then recreate it and make sure my iPhone was not connected to wifi and wait 1 hour, it worked once… Then never again.
    I have an ongoing case open with Apple Care but there does not seem to be any definitive answer on how to get the option to work properly. One representative says that it should word fine, the other says that that feature was disabled in the last patch, (I had it working once under the current iPhone version 1.0.2 so I knew he was misinformed) I followed this Apple document and am still unable to get the feature to work: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306272
    The Apple Care representative told me that the official Apple doc listed above was incorrect and that there was a better way to get the gallery to work and directed me to a Mac World Mac 911 article to resolve the issue http://www.macworld.com/weblogs/mac911/2007/08/iphonetowebgallery/index.php
    I insisted that this was a work around and that the actual “send to web gallery” button should display on the iPhone the Apple Care representative told me that I was incorrect and that the Mac 911 article was the only way to get the option to work.
    I actually met and spoke with the author Christopher Breen last weekend, and he agreed that this was a “work around” and that the "send to web gallery option on the iPhone should work. All I had to do was insure that I had my dot Mac account set up on the iPhone, iPhoto ’08 installed, a web gallery created in iPhoto and the option “Allow photo uploading by email” checked and published and all should be good in the world. Unfortunately, I just can’t seem to get it to work?
    I am not trying to “bash” Apple I would just like to get this option to work properly. Does anyone have any suggestion on how to get this option to work?

    It seems to be an ongoing issue the last couple of days..there's a few posts already discussing it in the forum. I found that if I sent the photos from my verizon acct on the iphone, it uploaded to the gallery fine..so it's a .mac account problem i think. Try it through another acct and I don't think you'll have a problem. It had always worked fine for me sending from my mac account until this weekend.

  • Modify Web Gallery - Paypal Integration - Filename Extraction

    Hi Everyone,
    I'm embarking on a mission to try and create a custom web template that will integrate Paypal's "Add to Cart" buttons on the "Details" page of an exported Web Gallery. It only requires modifying a Web Gallery template file and adding the below code to the footer of the Details Page:
    <form target="paypal" action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post">
    <input type="image" src="https://www.paypal.com/enUS/i/btn/btn_cartSM.gif" border="0" name="submit" alt="Make payments with PayPal - it's fast, free and secure!">
    <input type="hidden" name="add" value="1">
    <input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_cart">
    <input type="hidden" name="business" value="[email protected]">
    <input type="hidden" name="item_name" value="Purchase Standard Resolution Image">
    <input type="hidden" name="item_number" value="imagename">
    <input type="hidden" name="amount" value="3.00">
    <input type="hidden" name="shipping" value="0.00">
    <input type="hidden" name="no_shipping" value="0">
    <input type="hidden" name="no_note" value="1">
    <input type="hidden" name="currency_code" value="USD">
    <input type="hidden" name="lc" value="US">
    <input type="hidden" name="bn" value="PP-ShopCartBF">
    </form>
    The problem is, I need to substitute the image's filename for the "imagename" variable in the above code. I'm looking to extract the filename, but I'm unsure of how Aperture populates that. I'm sure there's a div name that they use that I could slip in there, but has anyone who has modified a Web Theme done this before? I know CSS modifications are easy, but I'm talking extracting certain field names that Aperture uses.

    I'm not seeing an "Add To Cart" button on your page - just a "View Cart" one.
    The reply from PayPal is correct in that there is no code that specifies the image size. The image itself dictates the size as you will discover if you use a custom button hosted on your own site.
    Here's the code:
    <form action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post">
    <input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_s-xclick">
    <input type="hidden" name="hosted_button_id" value="Value-Code-Here">
    <input type="image" src="http://www.domain.com/Folder-Name/Button-Image.png" border="0" name="submit" alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online!">
    <img alt="" border="0" src="https://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/scr/pixel.gif" width="1" height="1">
    </form>
    However, PayPal buttons do work on iWeb built sites so I don't know about the relevance of their reference to CSS.

  • Help with Starting a Web Gallery

    I am new to Lightroom and would like to setup a web gallery.  I setup the FTP server in the Upload Settings and when I click upload, everything seems to be working fine.  I also get a "Task Completed" message in the processing bar (upper left).
    When I go to the destination,  (www.wokintime.com/gallery/) nothing is displayed.  Also, when I click "Preview in Browser" nothing displays - the url says "about:blank" and the entire page is blank.
    Am I missing something?
    Any help would be much appreciated.  Thank you!

    Do you get an error message from LR when uploading?
    Have you got permission to upload to this folder on the server?
    Are you placing the gallery in a sub folder within the gallery folder on your site? This will be shown here in LR
    Have you checked your server to see if the galley files are present? Whoever supplies your web service will usually have a mechanism to do this. Log in to your service in your browser, it will be called file browser or the like.
    I note you are using wordpress for the site, you may also have a htacess file on your site that is set to prevent browsing directly within a folder that is outside of the WP instillation, you will need to change permissions on the folder to allow viewing of the gallery by direct html link if this is the case. It may be better to create your galleries in wordpress itself, many plug ins are avaible for this, I do this on my sites such as
    http://severnriverstrust.com/
    petemarshall.com
    both of which use WP for the site and files from LR to create galleries

  • How to improve AP2.0 Web Gallery Quality/Functionality for photographers

    Hi,
    I'm a pro photographer.
    I thought AP2.0 plus a (dot)mac account would offer an easy way for my clients to proof images in password protected web galleries and to download images as well. The resulting functionality is poor in my opinion. Is there anything I can do within Aperture or (dot)mac to improve the following problems?
    1) Why is the image quality of the web gallery slide show so poor? No sensible client would accept looking at proof images of this low quality. Even flickr is better.
    2) Why is there only one download file size, i.e. the original size? In other words, the original file is almost always too large for most web client purchases. Why can't the client choose a smaller version. Even flickr is better, offering several download sizes all based on the original upload.
    3) Since the export functionality within Aperture allows for numerous choices of dpi and pixel ratio to export images, why is this same functionality not there for publishing web galleries?
    It seems obvious that photographers would want to publish web galleries with exactly the same control that we can export images to disk or flickr. Even within the Apple Mail application we have choices of quality and pixel dimension for the attachments.
    What am I missing? Please help.

    When you create a Web Gallery in AP2, there is a set up prefernce to let viewers download an Optimized, Actual Size or Optimized and Master Image. (You can only pick one per gallery it seems.)
    However, I think the gallery design is rather clunky, too many design options are left open to the viewer, and not the photgrapher. I prefer the web pages and web journals for customer proofing using the image number. They email me their choices, and then using Aperture, I can order prints based on their selection. Not the simplist way, but I would not want clients downloading my images, anyway, as you suggest. Why would they buy a print if they can just download a jpg themselves?

  • Web gallery not showing up

    Doing something stupid, I'm sure. I have successfully uploaded to my .mac Web gallery before and have several pix/albums in there. This time, I set a password and restricted it to just me for viewing/downloading/adding to this particular album.
    I can't ever see it from my .mac login page, the one with the left-hand nav bar to web gallery, iDisk, mail, etc.
    I re-sent the whole album, and sent myself an e-mail to announce it, just to see if a hyperlink from the e-mail would work, and lo and behold, the private album is online. I just can't get to it any other way than from that e-mail link. Wondering what I did wrong.

    Kren - probably better to post this in the iPhoto '08 forum - http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1192
    launch iPhoto and click on the gallery in the source pane to the left - at the bottom of the window there is a gear (settings) icon - click on it and I expect you will find that you have chosen to hide the gallery - un-click that and sync and you should see it - as long as it is hidden you can only access it if you know the url (Logical )
