Hide firefox from Windows status bar

i'm running Windows 7.
when i minimize firefox i would like it to not appear on the Windows 7 status bar but in the "hidden icon" box area.
is this possible or is this a request for the future?

Try this add-on to minimize Firefox to the "system tray" then set your Windows 7 preferences for the system tray:
*Add-on - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/minimizetotray-revived/
**I use the above add-on; you can also search at - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/

  • Hide webpage link URL from browser status bar?

    Anyone know how to hide webpage link URL from the browser
    status bar with Dreamweaver CS4? So that when the mouse cursor
    hovers over a link on a webpage, the URL won't be shown in the
    browser status bar. This comes in useful for when I put my email as
    a link on a webpage but I don't want to let my email address be
    known prematurely. I prefer to do this through the Dreamweaver CS4
    interface without coding, if possible. What is the easiest way to
    hide link URL like this? Thanks.

    More than the anal users. Many people use this information to
    decide
    whether they will click on the link. By hiding it, you remove
    that
    extremely valuable security information - for example, a link
    tells you on
    the screen that it is taking you to www.wachovia.com, but the
    status bar
    link tells you it's taking you to
    www.iamahackersiteandwilldrinkyourmilkshake.cn
    I don't think you want to remove that from your site, unless,
    of course, you
    are the webmaster for
    'iamahackersiteandwilldrinkyourmilkshake.cn....

  • How can I hide the java script status bar?

    I'm trying to hide the status bar using the feature in the advanced section of enable java script. I did a search in the help window of Firefox 5.0 and it shows the area in options to do this. I followed the instructions but the feature in my advanced area does not offer this selection. I'm trying to accomplish this in order to follow the recommendations of Pogo to enhance game playing experience.

    Hi. To remove the horizontal scrollbar you can do this:
    textArea.setWrapText(true);
    To remove the vertical scrollbar you can do this:
    ScrollBar scrollBarv = (ScrollBar)ta.lookup(".scroll-bar:vertical");
    scrollBarv.setDisable(true);  and set the opacity to 0 in the css file:
    //css file
    .text-area .scroll-bar:vertical:disabled {
        -fx-opacity: 0;
    }Here is an example:
    import javafx.application.Application;
    import javafx.event.ActionEvent;
    import javafx.event.EventHandler;
    import javafx.scene.Node;
    import javafx.scene.Scene;
    import javafx.scene.control.Button;
    import javafx.scene.control.ContextMenu;
    import javafx.scene.control.MenuItem;
    import javafx.scene.control.ScrollBar;
    import javafx.scene.control.TextArea;
    import javafx.scene.input.ContextMenuEvent;
    import javafx.scene.layout.StackPane;
    import javafx.stage.Stage;
    public class TextAreaSample extends Application {

            primaryStage.setScene(scene);
            primaryStage.show();
            scene.getStylesheets().add(getClass().getResource("style.css").toExternalForm());
            ScrollBar scrollBarv = (ScrollBar)textArea.lookup(".scroll-bar:vertical");

  • Grey wheel perpetually spins in Finder window status bar.

    Why does the grey wheel (Different from the beachball), in the lower right hand corner in the status bars, in some of my Finder windows, continually spin? Some for hours and never stopping.
    The Finder window functions normally although sometimes slower than before installing Mavericks.  Have already reinstalled the OS.
    It doesn't happen in every Finder window.
    I hope it isn't slowing my computer down or causing hardware to overwork.
    I'm wondering if things are working properly.
    Can anyone help with this?

                                                                                                                        This grey wheel in the lower right corner keeps spinning. Never stops. Some windows have it. Others don't.

  • Problem launching Firefox from Windows with file path that contains space characters in the html file's file name

    We have a software application that programmatically launches the default web browser using the Windows shell execute function ("ShellExecuteA" in the "shell32.dll" library of the Windows API) along with a file path for a saved local html file that is to be displayed. In the case that FireFox is the default browser and the file path for the html file contains any space characters in the html file's file name, Firefox (in this case v7.01) will display an error message "File not Found..." and then will also proceed to open tabs for each of the individual words in the file name, launching as the URL path, each individual word appended to ".com".
    In the following example, the path "C:\KSSecOfState\Forms\Kansas Secretary of State - Filings and Forms.htm" when launched programmatically, resulted in the error message "File not Found...Firefox can't find the file at /C:/KSSecOfState/Forms/Kansas." and opened up browser windows for "http://www.secretary.com/", "http://www.of.com/", "http://www.state.com/", "http://www.and.com/", and attempted to launch "http://forms.htm". If the same file (renamed) is launched using the path string "C:\KSSecOfState\Forms\KansasSecretaryOfState-FilingsAndForms.htm" the file opens up correctly in Firefox. Clearly the presence of spaces in the file name is causing the problem.
    I should also note that either path (with or without space characters) works properly if pasted directly into the Firefox URL path menu bar for a live instance of Firefox. The test path strings I used were:
    C:\KSSecOfState\Forms\KansasSecretaryOfState-FilingsAndForms.htm
    C:\KSSecOfState\Forms\Kansas Secretary of State - Filings and Forms.htm
    Does anyone know anything about this problem or how to work around it (other than the obvious answer of taking the spaces out of the file name which is not possible for this application). It seems the problem is specific to Firefox. IE works properly if launched programmatically with spaces in the file name passed to it. I haven't tested other browsers yet.
    Thanks!

    If starting from ShellExecute works the same as starting from the command line then there are two options:<br>
    Put everything inside double quotes<br>
    '''C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\>'''firefox.exe '''"c:\test\svg test.htm"'''<br>
    Convert to a valid url with file:// protocol and percentage-escaping the space<br>
    '''C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\>'''firefox.exe '''file://c:\test\svg%20test.htm'''<br>

  • The masked fox icon is missing from my status bar. How can I get it back?

    The masked fox icon needed for personas has disappeared from the left corner of the status bar. Hoe do I get it back again and why did it disappear?
    == This happened ==
    Not sure how often

    if people out there has the new FF4 then you might not see the masked fox on bottom left corner. it took me a few minutes to figure it out but i found it. ok if you dont have the status bar on bottom showing 1st thing to do is:
    1st--go up top click tab called VIEW
    2nd-- click toolbars
    3rd-- click add-on bar
    then once thats done look at the bottom & u should see a black bar on bottom left. well i was stumped also when i saw this then i then looked right then i saw the fox there. but another way to find the fox (annoying way) is to go up top click tools then personas. but i like the fox & find it much easier. glad i found it again.
    happy persona-ING..

  • When openning firefox from the task bar it opens to the last page viewed how can I change that

    Whenever I open Firefox from the taskbar or the desktop icon it opens to the last session pages. Is there a way to change that back to the homepage.

    hello svicinanza, that is probably caused by the user.js file in your profile (it shouldn't be present anyway in case you haven't created it manually, since it can be used to overwrite your custom preferences).
    in order to resolve that, go to the firefox ''menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information'', click on ''profile folder/show folder'' and close all firefox windows afterwards. a windows explorer window should open up - in there delete the file named '''user.js''' and restart the browser.
    [[How to fix preferences that won't save]]
    afterwards try to set the options for your homepage in the firefox menu again: [[How to set the home page]]

  • Wasted space under Firefox 4 addon status bar

    I upgraded to Firefox 4.0.1. I enabled the add-on status bar, as it was under FF3.
    There is now about 1" of extra unused space under the status bar (the bar is too high at the bottom of the page).
    I ran FF4 with all addons disabled, enabled the add-on bar, and the bar appeared ok with no problem.
    I have probably two dozen addons installed. I disabled several selectively, but the problem remained.
    Any suggestions as to how to diagnose this problem?
    Thanks,
    Fred

    Hi:
    Yes, I have Status4evar installed. However, I found that I can enable the status (addon) bar via View -> Tool bars -> Add-in toolbar.
    Below is a list of my addons. Could you please compare this list with your addon list? If you can provide a list of addons that we both have installed, then I can try to selectively disable those addons.
    Thanks very much,
    Fred

    anyone else having trouble attaching file in icloud webmail using firefox or internet explorer from windows or mac. i was able to get it to work from safari on a mac, so i guess it must be a browser thing, only enabled or working in safari?

  • Windows/Status Bar/Icons = big and pixilated

    I unplugged my computer. When I turned it back on all the windows and everything is really pixilated and big. It's like everything is zoomed in. Except that it isn't. Everything in the system preferences seems to be normal, zoom is off, resolution is right, text size is normal. I don't know what it is? Can anyone help? Anyone know what it could be?

    It sounds like you are using an LCD monitor, correct? If so, you probably have the OS X display resolution set to something other than the monitor's native resolution -- if you do this on an LCD monitor, the result is a blurry screen -- photographic images (like your wallpaper) won't appear blurry, but icons and fixed-sized graphical UI elements will.
    Go into System Preferences -> Displays, select the Display tab, and make sure the Resolution is set to your LCD's "native" resolution (which you can find your monitor's manual).

  • Feature Request: Microsoft Excel 2013 - Don't hide status bar text on focus lost (AVERAGE, COUNT, SUM)

    Could you please disable hiding of status bar text on focus lost.
    I use this in Excel 2013, where I select a few cells, then move to another Excel to write the sum of those cells as read from the status bar or to check with other values in the second window. This really makes my life easier and I see no reason to hide
    the status bar text when the window looses focus.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your suggestions.
    You can also send your feedback to the Office team by the steps as below:
    1. Inside any new Office application you’ll see a yellow smiley face in the top-right corner. Click on the face and choose either
    Send a Smile to send positive feedback or
    Send a Frown to send negative feedback.
    2. In the window that appears, provide details about your feedback or issue. Also, be sure to provide a link to this thread.
    3. Next, you can choose whether or not to send a screenshot. You can also enter your email address so the Office team can contact you directly if they have any questions.
    Note: Most feedback requests do not result in responses from the Office team.
    4. Click the Send button at the bottom of the form to send your feedback.
    Best Regards,
    Judy
