Hide Full Information from Content Information Page in UCM 11g

I want to hide Full information tab from Content Information page for all users.

Have the <A href call a JavaScript function that sets the parameters that you want to pass as cookies for the page. (use inmemeory cookies). Then the JavaScript function will the change the location property of the page that will cause the browser to submit a new request. You should then be able to access the cookies on the server side and retrieve the data. You may need to use a differnt JavaScript function for each link tag.

The problem with the htaccess method is that not everyone has access to their ht.config files (shared hosting), as for the robots.txt file this tends to hide everything, even pages that are not included (and is still readable by anyone who links to it, often used by hackers).
As for the meta tags, yes you can use them, but Google (to name just one), is starting to ignore all meta info (started with keywords, now they are considering not using anything, except page title), and we can only blame the designers/developers who place everything in these tags for this, as much of what was inserted was not relevant to the page.
The best method is the nofollow as even if it is followed the results will not be used (so they say), but to ensure that a page is not indexed, the only 100% certain way is not to have a link, even generating links dynamically no longer works, as dynamic pages are now parsed before searching.

Information Architecure for UCM 11g/WebCenter PS4

Hi
Can anyone share their info architecture findings for UCM/11g and WebCenter PS4 e.g. security model, metadata model, taxonomy approach for managing group spaces. I'm keen to hear if you've put a info governance structure around the content for example - and if so - how did you form it? Where did your security model stope e.g. at Group Space level, or did you have to consider the confidential nature of documents within folders in the group space. Have you add additional metadata fields to help with search?

Wll, it's quiet easy. Webcenter is designed to handle services. UCM is also complettly service oriented so you could create a webapplication with webcenter where you define services from UCM and create your own user interface.
It's nothing more than the fact that webcenter can handle services (WSDL, SOAP).
You could create a site without siteStudio, using webcenter. Nothing wrong with that but don't forget that siteStudio has lots of tools that are great for UCM like the contributor mode. Also, the fragments that are allready build in in siteStudio give a big advantage. If you want to create these things in zebcenter, you'll have to start from scratch.
I do believe Oracle is working on an portal like interface to create portlets and stuff, perhaps they will create some tools special for the use of UCM and webcenter. This offcourse would be very nice

Migration from Stellent v7.g to UCM 11g - Configuration Migration Utility

Hello,
I am in the process of planning a migration from the old Stellent 7.5 system to the new Oracle UCM 11g.
I keep hearing of a utility called "Configuration Migration Utility" to setup the 11g system with the same users, folders, metadata, etc... as the older Stellent system. Does anybody know where to find this utility? Is there a single tool that will "export" the configuration from my Stellent and import that configuration onto my 11g?

CMU tool is a way to create the entire configuration bundle from 1 instance to the other .
This is a component that will be available from patchset 13526049 which is for CS 7.5
You will need to put this patchset on the 7.5 server and then from the option list select CMU which will then install the component on server .
For ucm 11g it is already installed on the server but disabled by default .

How to hide drilldown field from a OAF page.

Hi,
I have a requirement to hide few drilldown fields from one of the seeded OAF page. through personalization I am able to hide all the fields except the drilldown fields. Can anyone tell me why I cannot hide a drilldown field using personalization. Is there any other way to achieve it other then extending the controller.

How to learn UCM 11g from scratch

You will need a test system, use VirtualBox as you can undo any disasters by taking snapshots. If you don't know how to configure and administer managed servers in Weblogic Server then learn that first - just how to configure UCM and Node Manager so you can start and stop it from the Admin Server console.
It is worth learning to install Webcenter Content on Linux ( I recommend Oracle 6.6) and also on Windows if you want to use Enterprise Capture with Recognition but if you are impatient to start with UCM, Oracle have a ready-made VM with just about everything you need installed. Oracle WebCenter Portal 11.1.1.8 Virtual Machine | Oracle Technology Network | Oracle. You may need to patch the installation, I don't know what patch level it is set to.
When reading the Oracle documentation Make sure you get the WCC UCM documentation not the IPM documentation. Make lots of bookmarks and when you see "for more information on..." open the link in a new tab or you will get lost seven levels down when you realise you are back to the same page you started from.
Learn the security model, a group in Weblogic Server with the same names as a Role in UCM will be granted the Role's access, how to use content types, rules and profiles. if you have experience with any other DM systems, know that metadata fields in UCM are not attributes of a document class, they are attributes of the system and present for all documents unless you filter them out with Rules.
Know also that there are two Web UIs so when you read the latest documentation the screenshots are from the latest Web UI. I don't know if it has been installed in the Portal VM but if you want to install it, read the Support article 1618305.1, it is not simple.

Content migration Stellent 7.5 to UCM 11g | Facing trouble

Hi All,
We are upgrading from Stellent 7.5 to UCM 11g. Stellent 7.5 is on windows 2003 with SQL 2005 database, and UCM 11g is on Linux RHEL 5.6 with Oracle 11g database.
We are using archiver to migrate contents from Stellent to UCM. The import batch program is successfully executing. Below is the process we follow to migrate the contents which are in workflow.
1- Moved folders for migrating user workflow history and states of workflows
     <stellent idc root>\data\workflow to <ucm root>\data\workflow
     <stellent idc root>\data\user\profiles to <ucm root>\data\user\profiles
2- Migrated table data
     - truncating table data, the tables are : Revisions, DocMeta, Documents, DocumentHistory and RevClasses etc
     - Migrating data of these tables from MSSQL to Oracle so that workflow state, document checkout states are also preserved
     - wf_in_queue stores did of content therefore old did (of 7.5) needs to be preserved to show documents lying in user's queue
     - As well as there are some custom tables which are dependent on did.
Now the problem is, the native url of the link is pointing to new did.extention which was generated while content import through archiver. And if we migrate the table data as mentioned above the native url shows the old did.xls but this file doesnot exists in the file system.
Is there any who also faced the same situation?
Or is there a better way of migrating contents from 7.5 to 11g.

There is no supported direct migration path from 7.5 to 11g. The supported migration path is to upgrade the 7.5 instance to 10g, then upgrade the 10g instance to 11g.

Changing the UCM Database

HT1918 Why am I not able to access my balance that is posted to my itunes for purchases? I'm directed only to the credit card information page or I'm asked for the pin # from the itunes card; which was thrown away when I was credited with the balance?

Why was I able to redeem my ITunes card and have a balance that is shown next to my email address as an available balance to purchase ITunes for my IPod, but when I try to purchase any songs/albums, I am directed to the credit card/billing information page whichis telling me I need to provide that information in order to buy siad albums or songs when I have a credit already from the card? I also get directed to a page where I'm required to provide a code from the card I had already used and obtained a balance from, therefore, the card was disposed of as I had no longer any use for it; so I thought....
How am I supposed to be able to use the credited balance that's already posted to my ITunes account?
Am I missing a step or something? Because I am honestly lost as to what to do or how to proceed from here! Please, if you know what I need to do, I am desperate and very frustrated looking for answers.

The "Reset Firefox" button is missing from the Troubleshooting Information page in Waterfox v. 26.0.

Upon opening Waterfox I see a message at the bottom of the screen indicating that Waterfox is slow in opening. When I follow the link to find a fix for it, I get the page instructing me on how to reset the programme via the Troubleshooting Information page. However, the "Reset Firefox" button shown in the example is missing from the page in Waterfox.

You only see the reset button on the "Help > Troubleshooting Information" page if you use the profile that is marked as Default=1 in the profiles.ini file.
If you do not have the "Reset" button then either use the Profile Manager to create a new profile or use the Profile Manager to start with the current default profile to get the reset button in Firefox.

How can you copy information from Safari into Pages

Is there a way to easily copy data, such as financial tables from Safari into Pages and maintain the integrity of the table and the data within it? When I copy and paste it comes out all misaligned and into multiple pages. The same thing happens if I try to highlight the table in Safari and drag it into Pages. Is there not a "paste special" function in Pages like there is in Microsoft??

When I try too click on a disk I get the previously stated error. I can't even open up information to see what permission/access there is. It simply will not let me see the content. It shows the content of my main hard drive when I have clicked the other harddrive's name.

Combine content from selected aspx pages and Consolidate to pdf

Hi All,
I have a new requirement in one of the SharePoint portals :
Contents are placed on ASPX pages using a content editor
A feature to select pages and combine all the content from content editor of these pages into a pdf document
Is there a way to access only
the content stored in content editor and consolidate them in to one data source and then convert that in to a pdf file ?

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to convert the content in content editor webpart to PDF file.
I suggest you can use read content from content editor web part to a string variable using ContentEditorWebPart class.

Blank content area page - hide

I created a form in Adobe Designer and my content area page is appearing as page 1 when I'm in PDF view - I've never had this happen and I can't delete or move the page (form MUST have one content area). It was interesting because I had 7 pages in my form - everything was fine until I decided to move page 7 to the top (becoming page 1) - from then on my content area page began appearing....any help out there on how i can "hide" this blank page?? I actually had to make the form work today, so unfortunately, I had to start over and not move any part around to make sure I didn't get the blank second page.
Now, the client just notified me that they don't want email submissions so I am off to find out how to se tup teh HTTP side.
