can anybody help me to develop java code for hiding,locking and disallow autorunning of drives? in both windows and linux it have to work.....

You'll want to repost in the JNI forum--you're going to do some C/C++ coding, standard Java will not disable OS/Harware features.

Hide locked users in UWL people search

Hi,
I would like to hide the locked users from displaying in the UWL people search results for example while selecting an assignee during Forward task or selecting a nominee during Substitution.
Based on the SDN search does not looks like we can modify the standard WD components for UWL such as UWLUserAction or UWLSubstitution. Is there any other way of achieving this? Appreciate all help.

Hide lock screen battery?

Hi all,
I want to keep my old iPhone (iOS 3.1.3) in my car as an iPod... but i want to hide the lock-screen battery, so that my wallpaper is always displayed, even when charging...
Is there an app or a way to do so?

Hide/ Lock Apps

Does anyone know of an app that hides or locks certain apps (such as messages) that doesn't require jail breaking the phone? I have been looking for some and I can't find any, there used to be some from what I can see online but they're no longer availble... SOMEONE help Please!

Yes but it doesn't hide messages/ texts. Also, that just completely removes the app from your screen and you have to turn it off again in order to use it which stinks.
This kind of app is needed badly!!!

You could hide some Standart-Apps like Safari or Facetime using resrictions, but I guess you want to use it to hide "bad" apps like games etc. you downloaded, and the only way I know to hide these is to put them into folders as far away from the homescreen as possible...

Hide/lock a document or picture?

Does anyone know how to hide or lock a document (specifically a picture) so that it's either not displayed freely or that double clicking to see it requires a password to open it fully? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

If I wanted to lock a picture so no one else could see it, I would Save a Document as a PDF File. There are many other ways, one being Createing a Password-Protected (Encrypted) Disk Image.

You can't. If you don't want an icon to show in the Dock, just drag it out of the Dock. You cannot, however, prevent someone who has access to your account from using any application you yourself have access to. If you want to control what applications someone can run, set up a separate account for others to use and use the Parental Controls to set up and deny access.

When would you use "Hide" elements on a slide ?

Could anyone give me an example of when they use the "Hide" and "Lock" elements on a slide option.
Trying to get my head around who I might make use of them...in case I am missing out on something.
I am using Cap v4 but believe these options also works in v5.

It was more about the option to hide/lock the elements on an individual slide (in the timebar) rather than hide a complete slide I was asking about.
Have you ever used either of those options ?

Is it possible to hide or even encrypt projects / folders?

for projects / folders containing sensitive stuff that I don't want to accidentally show people when browsing through my projects structure, I'd like to be able to hide/lock some projects or folders. Even better would be if I could password-protect them with encryption added.
Is there anything in Aperture or possibly an add-on that will allow me to do this?
Outside of Aperture I can only think of zipping up the pictures, password-protecting the zip file and to keep these pictures completely away from Aperture...would be nice to be able to do this within the Aperture library, though...

No way to do it from within Aperture. Lock your computer when you're not there and it will be protected as long as nobody breaks in
Outside of that, there's an easier way to protect an entire library.
You can create an encrypted disk image (using Disk Utility). Make it a sparse image and specify the max size... it will be able to grow to that size (it will only take as much space as is used). Open that (do NOT check "save password"), and create an Aperture Library there that stores your s3cr3t images and projects. Then close it and double-click your "normal" library when you're done. It would be pretty easy to do. I actually use encrypted images in this manner when I want to send stuff to people via my iDisk... even if you get the file off my public iDisk, you can't get the contents of the file without the password.

Lock the panels in position

Unfortunately, the scrollbars all sit too close to the areas that expand
and collapse the panels on the left, right, and bottom of the screen.
Too many times, I click the wrong spot on accident. I'd like to be able
to lock the panels in their current state. Perhaps on the right click
menu, in addition to "Auto Hide & Show", "Auto Hide", and "Manual",
there could be an additional option to "Lock" the panel in place. That
way you could only expand or collapse them with a right click
Or even better would be options for "Hide & Lock" and "Show & Lock".
That way when you want to toggle them open/closed you don't have to
right click to unlock, left click to expand/collapse, and then right
click again to relock.
And before anyone says it...yes, I know about using the scroll wheel.
However, I usually find using scrollbars quicker as well as more
comfortable, natural, and precise.

I am not indicating a modifier to right-click. On a Mac with a single button mouse or using the touchpad on a laptop you Control-Click for Contextual Menus.
It is like listing Cmd/Ctl-whatever for the Mac/PC alternatives to keyboard shortcuts..

Wish list for animation and workarounds

Hi, I've been animating for tv shows and games with Flash since Macromedia Flash 3 (14 years?), with Macromerdia Flash 4, Adobe Flash CS3 and CC as my alltime favorites.
Now I miss some features from CS3, and I'm wondering if some of you know a workaround:
-Object level undo (OK, it is said in CC2 will return!! yeah!)
-MULTIPLE TIMELINES, you could open a new window of the same project, with their own timeline, with your cintiq and anoteher dsplay, this was awesome to work between symbols.
-LOCK the panels, in special the TIMELINE: the area to move the timeline it's almost as big as the area to select the frames, such unused area it's useless and a waste of space and time. every time. Unlocking by accident it's a multiple times per day error many people does.
-pick up color from anywhere, symbols, etc, no just color shapes...
And now flash is getting more "PRO" and games are getting more and more complex, here are some things me and my colleagues miss form Flash as animation tool, hope some of you could tell me some extensions to solve:
-option (on/off) to auto set a keyframe when modify something in another frame, as move a symbol, or make another draw on that layer.
-custom color option for the layers in timeline, this is a winner feature when you are working with dozens of layers and characters (all the green ones are hands, for example).
-permanent sync graphics in timeline, AS in the motion tweening. The action of select the layer and chosing “sync all symbols” every time you move a keyframe is such a waste of time!!
-Option to deactivate a layer (so, hide, lock, guide AND deactivate) , not just put it in guide mode, as we use to do, this is a mess!!!
-center the timeline every time you enter or exit a symbol, now the timeline goes at the extreme right. Very annoying if want to check the new change inside the symbol.
-press cmd/alt o whatever while clicking on a symbol WITHOUT going to that layer, very useful when working with puppets
-proportional brush size when zoom (optional?) as in the rest of professional drawing tools. This could be very controversial, though…
-make a symbol from selected frames and put it in the same place. Someone did an extension for this but it’s not working at all. [link removed by moderator - if it doesn't work then it shouldn't be advertised]
-Make a cycle from selected frames, very useful for walks, laughs, etc..

You might want to step back one version and try CS6 instead of CC. CC is basically a watered-down version of CS6. If you have a Cloud subscription then CS6 should be available to you as part of that. I actually preferred CS3 to any others and would still be using it had its licensing not failed for the second time... haven't tried to re-install since.

No one in their right mind will use an IDE on a tablet. It might be cool, but it is highly unproductive.
If you need portability, stick to laptops which at least have decent keyboards. Last I checked, software wasn't developed using gestures and mouse clicks. It was generated by typing. Tablets have awful keyboards.

I'm afraid the future belongs to tablets and other highly mobile devices and there is nothing stopping you from having a wireless keyboard to speed things up.
Oracle needs to reboot Java from scratch while it has the money to do so and make major friends with the likes of Apple and Google otherwise it's going to vanish. Ignorance is not a very useful thing.

Disable ECC pop up from IView

i had add a new ivew. Upon click on the link, it will pop out a doc. and ECC. But i only want the doc. to show only. How can i hide or disallow pop up for ECC.
I try many setting from the iview property editor but no result.

The doc's information is retrieved from SAP backend (ECC). It is dynamic so i do not want to save the doc to KM.
Is there way for KM to retrieve the information from ECC and input to the doc? Finally using KM iview to open the doc.
If so, pls provide me with the guideline for the configuration. Thanks alot
