Hide or remove player's hover text
When a user clicks the CC button during playback to open closed captions window, and then hovers the cursor over a button on the player bar (my player bar is centered on the bottom, directly below the captions window), the hover text for each button is partially hidden behind the closed caption window. (See below...) Can I somehow remove the hover text, or have it display on top of the caption window?
LOL - I'll complete what Michael's sentence should finish with.
You can remove the hover texts alltogether by editing the playbar in Flash if you have that installed on your machine.
... and you know how to use it.

How do I remove lines from linked text?
I am using Dreamweaver CS 4 and linked images and text are automatically underlined. How do I remove the underlines from linked text?
https://www.adobe.com/support/dreamweaver/layout/link_underline/#72192
According to the Adobe page above, I can add this code to the “head’ area of my html page and then all my links will not have visible lines, but I did that and the lines are still there. Any ideas why?
<style type="text/css">
<!--
a:link {text-decoration: none}
a:visited {text-decoration: none}
a:active {text-decoration: none}
a:hover {text-decoration: underline}
-->
</style>Hello,
in my DW I can define this in the (translated from my german DW) page properties, see screenshot
Have a look at Hyperlinks (CSS) >>> Unterstreichungsstil (underlining style) >>> use dropdown menu output >>> never underline (nie unterstreichen)

How do I remove the color from text that is a link to another page?
Here is my script:
a:link {
text-decoration: none;
a:visited {
text-decoration: none;
a:hover {
text-decoration: underline;
a:active {
text-decoration: none;
But, it still looks like this:If you want to change the colors of the links, you need to change them in your css:
a:link {
text-decoration: none;
color: #ffffff /* this makes it white on any link */
a:visited {
text-decoration: none;
color: #ffffff /* this is also white for any visited link */
a:hover {
text-decoration: underline;
color: #ffffff /*this link is white, but when you hover over it, the underline shows up */
a:active {
text-decoration: none;
color: #fffff /*another white link that is the active link */
I thnk that is what you are trying to do as you stated you wanted the links to change. If you don't do that the links will be the default colors
Blue for link, purple for the visited, etc.
Jim
Added later: This will change all your links on the page using the css. You can do it like fixated247 said above if that's what you want, if you only want it to change in the menu (which I cannot see, it's not there on the above linked page) you need to select the div or class that is using it.
/*if the link is in the menubar div then make a different selector for each of the link, visited, hover and active, in that order */
#menubar a:link {
text-decoration:none;
color:#ffffff;
etc. I hope you understand what I am trying to say.

I have InDesign CS2. Most of my experience is in newspaper layout and such.
I have been tasked to produce a product that will comsist of a interactive map of sorts in a PDF format
Brief explination:
The map will consist of about 80 locations (marked with a small circle and the city name) with contact information for particular individulas.
My plan was to have a mouseover/hover text pop up containing the contact information when the mouse is over the circle/city name.
If anyone could help me figure this out it would save me an immense amount of time.
I also have Photoshop CS2, if that would work better.
ThanksI had done a couple postings on InDesignSecrets.com about creating buttons so I just posted a tutorial on creating show/hide buttons which should answer your question:

Create hover text from mouse rollover with nav. menu
Howdy,
I'm using CS5 actionscript 2. I would like to create hovering text when one mouses over an item in the navigation window (please see pic). You know, something that would act like a brief abstract to give the user more info re: whether or not they need to click on that link.
At present, the nav_mc is linked to an xml doc FYI (the nav_mc accordians in and out, but doesn't have to). I input what I want the menu and submenu to say in the xml nodes and it shows up. It would be cool if the hover text added could also be xml driven too.
I am green to this so the more detail the better. Do I need to create a new xml doc? A new .swf? How do I link this? Should I use Flash Builder or Catalyst? I am happy to provide coding/docs of what I have to make things more clear.
Much Thanks!
kaveHi Kglad,
Thank you so much for taking the time to answer. I'm afraid I'm a bit of a newbie, would you mind fleshing your suggestions out a bit? sorry!
create a movieclip with a dynamic text, I'm not sure what this looks like (see pic) I made the green rec. a movie clip and created a dyn. text field...the movie clip and dyn. text are different things or one in the same?
assign the textfield an instance name (eg, tf) think I got this?
and assign the movieclip a linkage id. not sure what this might look like, do you mean an instance name? you can then attach your movieclip on rollover and assign the textfield's text and remove the movieclip on rollout. not sure what this looks like
you can enter the data used on each menu item's rollover wherever you like (including your xml). you just need to parse those data so each menu item is aware of its "tooltip" and can assign that to the attached movieclip's textfield. sorry, not sure hat this looks like either... the only menu item I have access to in the .fla is the lt. blue box you see in the upper left of pic. everything is generated in the xml...you probably gathered this, but just in case...
Thank you so much for your help!

Add/Remove Programs - export to text file?
Hello,
I am wondering if it is possible to export a list of everything in add/remove programs to a text file for inventory purposes.
I have not found any easy method to do this short of copying reg files or installer 3rd party software. Since the idea is to save time neither of those are viable solutions.
Does anyone have any ideas?
-JustinYou could try this vbs script that lists installed programs and add info to a text file.

Hide or remove delete button - ESS personal data iView
Hi, regarding for example ESS(50.4) personal data overview iView.
How to hide or remove delete button in the personal data overview iView screen(I know that this can be done on the ITS server side (web studio), but I want to do this in R3)
/Best Regards
PatrickAchim was right on. Edit/Change the Internet Service in R/3. A few things to consider though....
(1) if using the original service, you may want to create a copy of theme 99 into your own theme (any number will do...99 is just the default theme). If doing so, be sure to change the service's service file (yeh, I always loved that about SAP's naming) to point the ~theme paramter to your new theme.
or
(2) Copy the entire service into your own "Z" service. Then modify the templates as you wish. You will need to point the iView to this "Z" service too.
Also, it is best to do it via SE80 vs. file level because then it will be part of a transport and follow the correct path through the landscape.
Now, if you really want to go back to R/3....find the function module or program the transaction code for your service actually calls, make a "Z" version of it, modify it, create your own "Z" t-code to call it, and THEN modify the internet service's service file (either the original SAP one or a custom version) to call your new "Z" t-code. Lot of work...yes, I know....but that's the way it's done if you gotta get back down to the ABAP level.
Hope this helps!

Need help with 'hover' text box
Hola
Why the 'hover' text box don't appear in this page? Welcome to TummyTime, 3D 4D Ultrasound, Modesto, Salida, Ceres, Turlock area.
The 'hover' text should appear as you go over the pictures at the bottom of the page under RECENT ANGELS section.
As you see in this page (Under "Our Projects") :HOME - Arctic Template
the 'hover' text box appear as you go 'over' the picture, but in 'my' page it doesn't.
Now, when I 'preview' in my computer, I can see the 'over text box' appear but when I upload it, it just doesn't.
Can you please check it out and help me with this problem please?
Thanks.This code is what is on the original template
<li onclick="location.href='index.html';">
<img src="imgs/project1.jpg" alt="" />
<div class="item-info">
<a class="plus-big bg-color" href="#">+</a>
<div class="item-title txt-highlight-color">Lorem Ipsum Project 1 <br/><span>04-07-2012</span></div>
<div class="item-desc">Autem vel eum iriure dolor in hendrerit in vulputate velit esse</div>
</div>
<div class="triangle-up"></div>
</li>
This code is what is on the my page
<li onclick="location.href='index.html';">
<img src="imgs/project1.jpg" alt="" />
<div class="item-info">
<a class="plus-big bg-color" href="#">+</a>
<div class="item-title txt-highlight-color">32 Weeks <br/><span>03-09-2014</span></div>
<div class="item-desc">Autem vel eum iriure dolor in hendrerit in vulputate velit esse</div>
</div>
<div class="triangle-up"></div>
</li>
As you can see, it's the same code, and it works on my computer but NOT online . . .
So, where should I put this;
(<a href="link_to_some_page.html" title="this is what you are talking about, no?">some page</a>)? -
I think I already know the answer to this which is - no. I'll explain why I am asking the question in a second, but the reason I think the simple answer is no is because - text frames are controlled by a designer in the layout file, an editor using incopy can only edit the text and images placed inside text frames, and so cannot resize them, add or delete them.
Ok, so the reason I have asked this.
Is there a way around this so that editors in incopy can edit certain types of text frame that are contained within the main text frame? I'm using these text frames to contain specific paragraph styles, giving them a boxed look and also with an anchored icon in the top left of the text frame depending on the type of paragraph it is. See screenshot as an example of a green text frame that I am using to contain paragraphs of type "tip".
If it is not possible for editors in incopy to add, edit or resize these text frames (green tip frame in the example above), then how else can I style these paragraphs to give the same visual appearance, but without the use of wrapping them in a text frame?
One (not so good) way around this is for the designer to add the text frames in the layout file after he gets the content back from the editor, then moving the "tip" paragraphs into these newly created text frames. However when the editor updates the content in incopy and gets these new text frames in their copy, they can not then delete them if they wish to, or if they add or reduce content inside of these green text frames then the frames dont grow to fit their edited content. So I dont think its a solution for the designer to control the adding, removing and resizing of these frames.
UPDATE: I have just discovered that once a text frame has been placed into the document by the designer and the editor updates their copy in incopy- they can then use the "Position Tool" to select that text frame - allowing them to resize it, or delete it! Fantastic. But would the editor be able to add these frames in themselves to begin with? Maybe have a document containing all of the objects available to them, copy and paste one of them into the main document and edit its content? Does anyone have any advice on how to go about this? Essentially I would like the editor to control the insertion, editing and removal of these inline text frames.True. But when all I am trying to achieve is a border around a paragraph, use of a table seems overkill to me. But if thats the only solution I have so far then I will have to go down that route.
It would be useful to have an object libraries panel in InCopy so that editors can drag across predefined text frames into their doc via InCopy, but I cant see that option in InCopy. is there one? I have also thought about exporting the frames as seperate InDesign Snippets and saving them to an objects folder, then when an editor needs to insert one into their doc they simply use File > Place > "Choose required text frame snippet". However I have found that InCopy can't place InDesign snippets so that theory was a failure. Is there another format I could use to save the objects and bring them into InCopy? List below shows my findings so far for trying to save/export a text frame from InDesign and then import into InCopy:
InDesign Snippet (.idms) - can't import into InCopy
InDesign Document (.indd) - imports content as an image - only editable in InDesign
InDesign Template (.indt) - imports content as an image - only editable in InDesign
InDesign Library (.indl) - can't import into InCopy - no panel available in InCopy for object libraries (that I can see...)
InCopy Markup (.icml) - only imports the text, loses the text frame -
