Hide photo still shows as cover photo in all photos album

when I hide a photo it shows up as the cover photo for the all photos album. Is there any way to choose an album cover photo?

Hold your finger on the photo then tap hide.

i thought the photo stream only holds 1000 i usuaaly take each month and save them to iphoto but if thats the my ipad should say the same amount and it doesnt - it shows 2.5 gig which is correct for iphoto. and i havent ever had that much but if for some reason icloud has that much saved how do i delete and again if it does why doesnt ipad show that amount _ HELP!

Blog archives missing text but photos still show. Mac genius's stumped...

Why would my text disappear from my older blog archives while my photos still show up?
The text is still there, because if you bring up the html and view it in source mode you can see it...
but just not on the blog page... like if you used white font on a white background. Any ideas?
Even the genius's at the apple store couldn't figure this one out.

Not just yet.
What you should do is to publish your site to a folder in your local machine, then look for these xml files.
If these xml files are published and exist in you local machine then you can force apple to correct the problem - otherwise, you may/will face the same problem in the future, when they screw up again.
I will try to repost if I learn anything from the MME techs

Not that I'm aware of. You just export JPEG copies to a folder that you can point iTunes to. For instance, I have created a folder in my Pictures folder called Apple TV. And within that folder I have other folders of pictures that I can choose from in iTunes to share with Apple TV. But there doesn't seem to be any way to share a Lightroom slideshow. If you have laid to create a video file that would probably work. Apple TV is a little clunky in my opinion. Some things are a little more difficult to do now than they were a while back. I probably haven't provided you with much help, but just keep experimenting and I think you will figure it out.

Why do hidden photos still show up in 'all photos'?

I have been using Photos for a couple days now and I have noticed that when I hide a photo it gets hidden from 'moments', 'collections' and 'years' but not from 'All photos' under albums. Its frustrating since there is a specific folder under albums (that you can also hide from view) called 'hidden photos'. Why go through all that trouble of creating a 'hidden photos' album, that can be hidden from your folder list, to still allow all the hidden photos to be displayed under 'all photos' under albums? Seems to defeat the purpose.
Am I the only one that is having this issue?

I'm afraid that hidden photos do not work the same way that they did in iPhoto."All photos" is intended to include hidden photos. Hidden photos are only hidden from moments and collections.

Moving folders to ext. drive--photos still showing on library page

I've moved a couple of years of photos to an external drive to make more space. However, when I open Iphoto, I'm still seeing these photos on the main library page. When I double click on a photo, I get a blank image with a question mark, which I know means a source can't be found.
My questions are: Should I delete the photos showing in the Iphoto library that I have moved to the external drive to prevent confusion? Or is there a certain file with this information that I can delete and rebuild from the photos now on my Mac HD?
If I move the photos from the external drive back to the computer hard drive, will they reappear in the library again?

There's no need to post again, and it's only important because the answers vary for different versions - for instance it's perfectly possible to have a referenced library in v6.
Here's what I would do now. Because you've moved these files around and putting them back isn't working, we have to regard the database as corrupted. I would rebuild the Library and then import any that are still missing after the rebuild.
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

My photos seem to be deleted when I updated the software, but a photo still show up when a person calls. How can I restore my photos?

I updated mine and my parents iPhones. My photos stayed, but my parents photos seem to be deleted, yet when they receive a call the photo id for that person still shows up. How can I recover these photos?

Imported Photos not showing up in Library of I-Photo

I am converting old slides on a Wolverine SNaP converter. The digital images show up in the "Last Import" window after importing them, and I can drag them into a folder I create, but when I go to the Library they aren't there. Does anybody have a similar experience? How can I get them to show up in the Library?

Thank you. I did find it. I am not familiar with the way things get organized in iphoto. I expected new photos to show up at the bottom of the library as they usually do. I still haven't found them when looking in the library itself but I did find them when looking at the events.

Difference between Photos label at top of screen and all photos under albums?

Just wondering what the difference is being the box at the top left hand side of screen that is labelled 'Photos' and the one just below 'Albums' that is called 'All photos'.
I can see that the 'Photos' area seems to be all photos on your mac, like the events stream was on iPhoto before and the camera roll on IOS iPhoto.
I had expected 'All photos' under albums to be just those you had placed in albums, but I added and deleted a few photos to test this and could not see any difference between the effect on the two areas.
I suspect all the previous 'events' have been folded together in one folder so that it is easy to see what was there on conversion, but before I start dismantling this folder to suit the new layout I just want to make sure I understand how the deleting of photos from albums/the whole program works. I have been prompted a couple of times if I am deleting from album or deleting altogether but deletions seem to affect both these streams?

Photos is sorted based on the date of the photo.
All Photos is based on date added. Don't know how it imported at first, but every photo you add from now on will be shown in the order added to the All Photos album no matter what date is in it metadata. And it will be placed in date order in Photos moments.
If you import 100 photos and delete 20, you will have 80 photos left from the import. The 50 you put in an album doesn't affect the total amount you added to the library. It just means that you chose not to put 30 in an an album you created. You can put the same photo in as many albums you want to create. The actual photo still resides in the library.
Don't confuse the system created albums with the user created albums. You can choose to remove a photo from a user created album without deleting it from the library. Or, you can choose delete from a user album which will delete from all albums and the library. But you can only delete from the system album.

I clicked to delete a photo but ended up having firefox block all photos on christianmingle site. How do I undo this block?

You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
* Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
* Click the website favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
* Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
* Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
* Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
* If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

Old photos still show up on iPhone5 in windows explorer

When I connect my iPhone 5 to my PC, and open up windows explorer, I see old pictures that have been removed.
The folder structuire is as follows:
iPhone, Internal Storage, then various number+Capitol Letters folders.
If I go into each folder, I see pictures that were removed from the phone.
Bug?
Why doesn't the iPhone delete these from internal storage? I'm deleting them after saving them to disk.
Can I safely remove these files/pictures from the phone using windows explorer?

I should have said that I'm deleting them from the phone using the trash icon.
And after I delete them, I attach the phone to my PC, open explorer, and the old/deleted pictures are still there.
Only some of the old photos are still there.

Will my photos still show tag info etc when I upgrade to 13

I am about to upgrade from Elements 12 to 13...will all my photos in organiser retain all the tag info , events etc?

I am assuming you'll install Elements 13 in the same computers which holds your Elements 12 and your pictures.
When you'll install the new version, a dialog window will open and ask you to confirm if you want to convert your old catalog. You'll agree and a new catalog in the PSE13 format will be created from the old one, with the same name. The old catalog will be renamed with a ' 1' extension and still be useable from PSE12. Everything should be restored just like before.

Photos not showing up in "Places" tab in Photos app

Hi everyone,
I recently just imported a bunch of newer pictures from my Aperture library onto my iPhone. The photos show up fine in the Photos app under Photo Library and Albums, but they do not show up in the 'Places" tab. I have all the location information in the photos in my Aperture library.
The weird thing is all the older photos I had on my phone from previous syncs show up in the "Places" tab. Am I missing something to get this info to show up on my phone?

I figured it out if anyone else is having the same issue. I had to manually kill the photo app and it updated the pictures I just added when I re-opened it.

Photos not showing after migrating from iPhoto to Photos.

I just upgraded to OS X 10.10.3 and the Photos App, however when I started to migrate my iPhoto libraries (have nine(9) libraries) no pictures show up on the third one I migrated. I checked and the migrated library file has been created (11.3 GB) however nothing shows up when I select the file and open this library. Any suggestions by anyone would be appreciated.

Try these for the first attempt:
First be sure to have a backup copy of the library if you already don't have one.
