Hi gurus,
While doing extraction i came across these words i.e. Hide, Selection .... what r these words refers to and how it will be useful in real time analysis. Plz give me brief detail abt that.

Selection:
Selection field for a Data Source
Use
Set this indicator to use a field from the Data Source as the selection field in the Scheduler for BW.
Due to the properties of the Data Source, not every field can be used as a selection field. In this case, the property is not changeable.
Hide
Hide Extract Structure Field
Use
To exclude a field in the extraction structure from the data transfer set this flag. The field is then no longer available in BW for determining transfer rules and therefore cannot be used for generating transfer structures.
Inversion: Field Inverted When Cancelled (*-1)
The field is inverted in the case of reverse posting. This means that it is multiplied by (-1). For this, the extractor has to support a delta record transfer process, in which the reverse posting is identified as such.
If the option Field recognized only in Customer Exit is chosen for the field, this field is not inverted. You cannot activate or deactivate inversion if this option is set.
Field Only
The indicator Field known only in Exit is set for the fields in an append structure, meaning that by default, these fields are not passed to the extractor in the field list and the selection table.
Procedure
Remove the Field known only in Exit indicator, to get the Service API to pass the field in the append structure to the extractor.

Unable to select and extract object...

I am currently attempting to edit a recently converted raster to vector image. I have the file opened and selected after having used the "live trace" function to revise it and save as a vector image. Now I would like to select and extract a portion of the image to work with but I am neither able to select and extract the object of focus from within the general picture. When I attempt to use the pointer selection tool to select the object of focus, the entire image becomes selected with a blue border. If I try to use the magic wand nothing happens. If I try to use the lasso tool I can draw around the object of focus but when I close the lasso it simply disappears leaving nothing selected. I've even tried to "ungroup" the image but option is grayed out (unavailable). Any insights into what I am doing incorrectly? By the way, the live trace function becomes active whenever I click anywhere within the general image.

Expanding the Live Trace should make it accessible and editable just like any other vector artwork where you may Direct Select individual/multiple Anchor Points, Select paths, etc.
Maybe a closeup of the issue area, with a hint at what exactly you wish to do, would help the helpers, preferably including the relevant part of the Layers panel (which may be moved).
Apart from that, others may tell you that I am too old, or silly, to apply Live Trace.

How do I set the "hide selection" key back to CMD+H?

When I installed Photoshop CS6 on my Mac, it gave me the option of using the keys CMD+H to hide Photoshop. Without thinking I said "Yes" Duh! What was I thinking. I always use CMD+H to hide selections! I have been looking around in the prefs, bue can't find a way to change it back. Thanks, Ken

It isn't in the preferences. You'll find it under Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts. Change the shortcut for the Photoshop > Hide command.

CS5 Photoshop "CMD H" for hide selection

When photo retouching, I'm constantly using the hide selection in (CS3, CS4). Now, I'm using CS5 and the hide selection "CMD H" is no longer available. Just the pull down menu only for this feature. This is slowing me down and time is of the essence when photo retouching. Is there a patch out there for hide selection? I'd like to have the "CMD H" back. Please come back.....

You can configure CMD + H using Edit> Keyboard Shortcuts... In that dialog, go to View> Extras and set the CMD + H kbsc, or View> Show> Selection Edges for just the marching ants and not other visible guides.

Hi,
the ALV Grid Control allows you to directly hide key columns with NO_OUT (field KEY_SEL is not used).
Field name:NO_OUT
Comp. type:LVC_NOOUT
Dtype(length):Char(1)
SPACE, 'X'
If you set this field, you hide the relevant column in the list. Nevertheless, the column is available in the field selection and can be interactively selected by the user as a display field. The ALV displays the contents of hidden fields on the detail screen for a row in the grid control.

Hide Selection

Is there a Hide Selection Command in InDesign like in Illus (Cmd 3)? Or a reasonable facsimile there of... w/o having to put it on a layer and hiding? Thanx.

Ahhh, I never thought of that.
Of course InDesign does have a totally different workflow that
AI or PSD in that most color changes for text are meant to happen through styles.
And there's a Preview button for those changes. Which alleviates the need for selecting text.

i m using a logical database PNP and report catagory 1PY_DEF in my program.
but when i execute it , it shows to selection box. one name is period and second is selections.
but i just want to show only period box selection fields , not the selection box fields.

In my case i haved used the PNP logical database..in the selection box i don't wnat to display Contorling area,Cost Center & Organizational Unit. i have written this code to hide those fields..
AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT.
LOOP AT SCREEN.
    IF screen-name CS 'PNPKOKRS' OR
       screen-name CS 'PNPKOSTL' OR
       screen-name CS 'PNPORGEH'.
      screen-active = '0'.
      screen-invisible = '1'.
      MODIFY SCREEN.
      CLEAR screen.

Try modify hide the total block instead of individual fields in that block.

What is the keyboard shortcut for hide selection in photoshop CC

In PS CS6 you could hide a selection with command h.
In PS CC that no longer works. What is the new kwrboard equivelant.

We are implementing EP. In that i have to take one report of PS which tcode is S_ALR_87013533.
In this report having various selection parameters field in 1st screen.But i want only Project defination field to be displayed and remaing fields i wanted to be hide.
So EP user will put only Project Defination and will acess the ps releated report.
What is the way to hide remaing field in that report.Is their any screen layout avail. for the reporting t codes in customizing.

But problem is system is showing following error " No costs, revenues or finances were selected".

The delta wil take the Last init selection for loading data in to the BW...
Did u check the IP at the Update tab is it the correct delta only.. or its a full..
better to go to the RSA3 and check the extractor in the Delta mode .. if u give ur delta mode it automatically takes the selction options.. so please try in RSA3..

Hide selection screen in BDC

Hi Experts,
i created a bdc for VA01 transaction. i use include bdcrecx1 in my code every time while i run the prog it shows a selection screen to select generate session or call transaction methode, but i want to hide that screen for user by automatically selecting call transaction radio button with processing mode 'N' and update mode 'A'

I have added detail region in Advanced table components and if i use standard Multiselection feature the select column will be displayed first in the table but here the framework by default displays select all and select none links.
I though of adding a data column in advance table and add a item of type MessageCheckbox but since i have detail region the custom select column is displaying next to detail column but they want to display select column in the beginning.

How to hide selected rows on Dashboard

Hello.
Assume there is table having about 10 rows. The goal is to let the user select random rows, click on them and make them disappear from the dashboard.
The user wants to export the dashboard to PDF but each time he needs to hide some of the table rows before export is done. There is no rule which rows should be hidden and which should be visible - user selects rows randomly, based on his current needs (or maybe based on the current weather and his grandmother shoe size, i don't know.)
Is there a way to achieve this?

First the quick answer: no, you can't select a row and make it disappear. But depending on how many columns are in the report and whether every instance of a certain type of row needs to be deleted, you can try this:
I'll take the worst case scenario. Every column in the report can have multiple values that need to be excluded.
1) Build multi-select prompts on each column with the operand "not in/not equal to."
2) Put "Is prompted" on all the columns.
When the user discovers a value in a column that makes him want to get rid of that row (and all rows with that value), he can select it in the prompt. When he hits the "Go" button, the prompts will filter out all those rows.
If each row is completely independent of all other rows, then you're out of luck. I would say, download the report in Excel. Delete rows, then convert to pdf.

I think the column name you have specified in the query is wrong. Check that.
For example if the table is created as below:
CREATE TABLE Resume_Master (
Resume_Id VARCHAR2(8) PRIMARY KEY,
Candidate_Details SYS.XMLTYPE NOT NULL
The query should be
SELECT rm.Candidate_Details.EXTRACT('//NAME/text()').GETSTRINGVAL() FROM Resume_Master rm

Is it possible to hide selected bookmarks in bookmark pane?

We want our application to launch a PDF opened to a certain bookmark. However, that bookmark will be a numeric ID, so we don't want it to be displayed in the bookmark pane. We DO want the bookmark pane to display our standard table of contents.
So, is it possible to selectively hide the numeric ID bookmarks, while leaving the bookmarks based on text headings visible? The PDF will be generated from an InDesign file (CS6) on Windows 7.

Here's an example to help you think of how to use destinations. In InDesign CS6, I created two hyperlink destinations (Hyperlinks panel > Panel menu > New Hyperlink Destination). I selected headlines on pages 4 and 5: "Seeds of Inspiration" on page 4, and "Professor Wangari Maathai" on page 5, and chose New Hyperlink Destination. Because they were text, Text Anchors were created.
On Page 3, which is the table of contents you see below, I selected the entry "Seeds of Inspiration......page 4" and turned into a Hyperlink (Panel menu > New Hyperlink). I selected the Text Anchor for page 4. I repeated a hyperlink leading to the Text Anchor on page 5. So you can use hyperlinks to take you to a destination.
But you could also create a button (you mentioned user presses F1 on a particular screen—that could be a button). So I also created a button at the top of page 3. The button has an action: Go to Destination. I selected the same Text Anchor I used with a link. When the button is selected in Acrobat, its settings are shown on the left side of the screen capture.
I don't usually use the Destinations panel. I don't need it, but you can see that the destinations are listed in the Destinations panel.
