Hide Simple Filter

Hi Experts
I am looking for a option to hide simple filter for some of the users in enterprise. I tried modifying below rights.
Interactive: General - Ability to hide / show toolbars
Interactive: Reporting - Create and edit report filter
I am still seeing the simple filter in Webi Reports.
Please advice

I noticed in the post in your link, it mentioned making sure the developer of the report saves it with the filter area suppressed. Could that be the issue?

How to hide or filter out the row at break subtotal level

Hi All,
Need to know how to hide or filter out a row at break subtotal level.
My Requirement is to sum up the first 20 business days total as Month total.
This is a cross tab report, with Dates going from top to bottom, Securities going from left to right and Amount as the intersection of this two dimensions.
So I have created a variables like this below
RunningCount of Mtr Dt=ToNumber(RunningCount([Query 1].[Intrader Acct Mtrty Dt]))
and
MonthBreak=If [RunningCount of Mtr Dt] Between (1;20) Then 1 else 2
Inserted this "MonthBreak" variable into the crosstab so it will give me each rowcount, then applied the break on this variable, so it split the first 20 rows and the rest of the remaining rows.
Then applied Sum on the Amount column so it will add up the first 20 rows and then the remaining rows. Now I want to display only the subtotal row of the first 20rows and hide/filter the row subtotal line for remaining row numbers greater than 21.
Did tried to do some thing using the alterers but no luck.
Please help me fix this

When I apply
=If ([MonthBreak] = 1) then Sum(Amount) else 0
in the subtotal row, then nothing is changed.
And one other thing I noticed is when we apply break on a column it footer should be same as the break value right. But here in my report the break footer is displaying 1 for both the cases for first 20 rows break and the rest from 21st rows.
That is when I place MonthBreak variable in the table.. which has values 1(for row 1 through 20) and 2 (for rows 21 to end of the report) then apply break on this MonthBreak column, its footer value are same for both the cases which is displaying as 1
Do you know why this happens and to your information this is a cross tab report I am working on....

Trying to convert a Lower HID Keyboard Filter to an Upper filter above kbdhid

A few months ago I solicited some help regarding writing a filter for a USB/HID keyboard. Thanks to all who gave help especially DH. It does work and I can even get diagnostic feed back from it.
Unfortunately, it seems to lack the flexibility I required. It is loaded as a lower filter below kbdhid. I do get the HID keyboard reports, but I can only change that single report. I want to be able
to insert an additional keyboard report ( I want to be able to send another key with it's own modifiers). I don't see/know how to do it. Here are a couple of options I thought about, but I don't know how to implement either one:
1)
It seems to me that one option would be to some how get the kbdhid driver to request a second read from the keyboard WITHOUT an actual keystroke occurring. Presumably it would be identical to the first one since the pressed keys hasn't changed
in that brief time. But, then using this second report one I could change it to insert the desired key/modifier.
2)
Another option might be to use an upper filter between kbdhid and kbdclass. (It would have to be before the I8042 to the kbdclass input because we already have an upper filter for the kbdclass that filter keystroke from a PS/2 keyboard. )
I have tried moving the existing, functional HID filter from a lower filter to an upper filter. It does load and devcon shows it to be an upper filter above kbdhid. Debug diagnostics show that DriverEntry gets call and that the EvtIoDeviceControl
routine gets called a few times initially, just like when it was a lower filter.
However, the EvtIoRead and EvtIoWrite routines never get called, let alone the ReadCompletion routine.
Obviously there is something different between lower and upper filters, but what. Do they take the same callback routines/protocols?
Also is the output of the kbdhid in HID keyboard report format or has it changed to the KEYBOARD_INPUT_DATA format.
How can I capture HID keyboard data after kbdhid?

the way to make this work with your current setup is to queue the read request kbdhid sends and then send down your own request. When you want to report a new key outside of the hw reporting, you complete the queued read with the data. This gets complex
if the read you send down completes before kbdhid can send another read

Report in P6 Optional not showing activities set by a simple filter

it's hopefully a simple one.
Created a report with an open project, looking at activites - rerpot shows all activities
When i then add a filter to that report of Finish date = 1st October, I would expect to see all activities finish on that date.
There are of course other ways of achieving this through differnet pages, but I'd like to know why this doesn't work, if anyone else knows..?

Hide Query filter values and column width default

Hello Everyone,
In our query definition we have default filter(restriction) values. When query is output it shows these filtered(restricted) values.
Is there anyway to hide these? We dont' want users seeing this.
Also, the column width defaults to the largest output in the column (Excel standard). Is there anyway to override this? I tried in a workbook to set the column width to a certain width, but the query did not read this?

Hi Colleen,
To set column widths, use the BW Properties dialog. In Excel, select any cell that is part of query definition, right-click ... you should now see a context-specific dialog. The last option in the dialog is always Properties. Go to the Column width tab and pick from there.
For the filter values ... you should be able to delete these cells and they should not re-appear (unless someone goes to the BW toolbar and selects Layout >> Display text elements).

Simple Filter Problems

I've been having some problems doing a simple Window Filter in Oracle Spatial. Here's the query I'm executing:

This should return all records within the specified UTM window. However, I get the following error:
ERROR at line 5:
ORA-00904: invalid column name
This indicates that the column-name 'mdsys.sdo_ordinates' is incorrect. How can this possibly be? Is there something I've missed during installation of the product? I note that the following error occurs when I type 'describe mdsys.sdo_geometry' in SQLPlus:

SDO_GTYPE NUMBER
SDO_SRID NUMBER
SDO_POINT SDO_POINT_TYPE
ERROR:
ORA-04043: object SDO_POINT_TYPE does not exist

The types name for sdo_ordinates
field is sdo_ordinate_array
and the type name for the
sdo_elem_info
is sdo_elem_info_array.
You should use these type names in
the object constructors and not
the names of fields.
So the geometry constructor will be
like this:

Action links show link conditionally using simple filter

When I set up an interaction with action link, every thing works fine. But when I try to use the 'show link conditionally' using a simple condition, I get an error such as:

Simple filter question

I have a dataset of many years data. I want to show the count of records for each of the past 7 days.
If I add date and record count then run the query, I add a variable:
=RelativeDate(CurrentDate(); -7) < [Date]
Then in the report filters panel I filter by this variable = 1, and the correct result returns. However, with a filter at this level I guess all the data is returned from the database for many years, then on a second step the data is filtered. We have a lot of data so I would like the filtering to take place in the first step, on the original query. I can't see how to use a variable or enter a formula into the query filter panel. I could add this to the universe, but then we will end up with a lot of "filter 7 days", "filter 30 days", ...
Questions: What is the best way to filter by past 7 days, or how can I add this formula to the query filter?

Suresh gave a good answer, however, to get back to your original question:

It is always more efficient to filter at the server (database server) level versus bringing more data to the workstation (client), however, for each filter, as you are observing, it requires an object filter to support. Another way to handle this particular situation might be through the use of a prompt. You could prompt the user for the number of days (7 or 30, etc) and then you could use one filter object and have maximum flexibility.

Hide Filter Values

Hello Experts is it possible to hide the Filter values in our reports, i mean after opening the report from WAD, you have free characteristics, rows and columns, beside that you have filter where you filter based on paticular value....
But in my senerio when i clcik on filter button, it is giving me a list of all the values for that column, sfter that i have the text boxes with filter range.
Is it possible for me to remove all the values that are displaying above the text boxes, so that i can have only the Text boxes where the user can enter the desired values..

I am not sure if that is possible. One more way to do it would be to have a separate pop up instead and take in the user's input and pass it along the URL. Only thing is you will have to do a lot more JavaScript coding for the same and also input help will be tough to achieve. In short , it is not do able with just a setting.

Hide filter pane of EVCVW function

We use the function EVCVW(AppName, Dimension, FilterList).

When we double click in a cell containing the function, it shows the pop-up with the dimension members and filter pane.
We want to hide this filter pane so that the user can not change options that we have put in the parameter FilterList of the function EVCVW.

the cell that containts the EVCVW function is blocked and the workbook has a psw.
with the EVCVW function the user can choose from a list of the dimension member a certain property which are equal to a certain value.
we want to block or not shown on the right side of the window for selection of members.
we know there is a button that shows and hides it, but even hide it using the EVCVW function is always displayed when you double-click

Can you filter a date range in Numbers 3.1?

It seems crazy... but I can't figure out how to filter a date range in the new Numbers (3.1). In other words, I have a column with individual dates e.g. 31-Dec-2012, 29-Feb-2013, 19-April-2004, etc.
I want to filter it so that ONLY the dates from 2012 show up.
The thing is that the new filters ONLY seem to let you filter from today's date e.g. between 494 and 692 days from today. Obviously, that isn't what I want, and it seems very wierd that something so basic would be left out.
What am I missing?

In the example below Column A has date values and Column B has a simple filter that displays dates if in year 2012. Pretty simple, likely too simple. Not sure what/how you want to display but thought I'd get something started. The formula in Column B is: IF(YEAR(A2)=2012,A2,""). You can hide column A if desired.

LDAP Search filter Jabber for Android

Hi,
I have this LDAP Filter which only shows me active users:

I have the same line for Jabber for Android, but it doesn't work.
<BDIBaseFilter>(&(objectclass=user)(objectcategory=person)(!UserAccountControl:1.2.840.113556.1.4.803:=2))</BDIBaseFilter>
I get 0 results for any search on Jabber Andorid. When I delete the "BDI" Line for the filter all together, then I get correct results - with photos and everything.
I also tried a simple filter e.g:
<BDIBaseFilter>(!UserAccountControl:1.2.840.113556.1.4.803:=2))</BDIBaseFilter>
No search results either.
Any ideas how to get Filter for Android working?
