Hide slide switcher when presenting?

How can I hide the slide switcher. Using an iMac for presentation with only mirroring possible. I want to be able to type <12> <enter> and goto slide 12 without everyone in the building seeing the slide switcher pop up. CEO like the "look" but asked to loose the "pop up thing" while presenting.
Almost cool :'(

Welcome to the forums!
As far as I know, there is no way to keep the slide switcher hidden. If you regularly jump to set of specific slides, you can use hidden hyperlinks to jump to them and jump back, but that is not a general solution.

  • Hide slide switcher

    When I'm playing a slideshow and want to jump to a specific slide, the slide switcher appears on the bottom of the screen, as I'm sure you've all noticed. The program is being used to project words for a band, so the person playing to slideshow needs to have to freedom to select different slides as the band jumps around in lyrics (not necessarily in a pre-set order). But with the slide switcher showing up, it looks really tacky.
    Does anyone know of any way to select specific slides while keeping the slide switcher hidden?

    What you can do is run the presentation in Presenter Mode. Then when you have to jump to a slide the slide switcher thing comes up on your display only - it doesn't go to the screen.
    I don't like running shows in Presenter Mode. It's better to run a live show in Mirror mode for a bunch of reasons.

  • How to hide slides for a presentation?

    I am going to give a presentation that needs to have some slides hidden but at the same time available if i wish to use them. The idea is to have an omitted slide with the possibility of using it while i am doing the presentation. In power point you han use hidden slides by pressing "H" while the presentation is running. Anyone knows how can i do this in keynote? Thank you very much

    The following is from the Keynote Help manual:
    To skip one or more slides:
    Select the slide(s) in the slide navigator or light table view, and then choose Slide > Skip Slide.
    Control-click the slide and choose Skip Slide.
    To make a skipped slide visible in a slideshow, select it and then choose Slide > Don’t Skip Slide (or Control-click the slide and choose Don’t Skip Slide).
    This presumes that you are working in the editing (preview) mode. Thus, you need to decide before your presentation whether or not you wish to be able to show a "skipped" slide. I do not think you can "unskip" a slide while in the presentation mode. Maybe someone else knows ??

  • Show/hide - not working when jumping slides

    Hi all - here's the scenario.
    Slide 1 - three buttons that jump to future slides (call them slide 3, 4, and 5) to display information; this slide has a longer audio file to play and direct users on how to use these buttons. Each button has an advanced action attached to it to Show a checkmark image appear on slide 2 so users can see what they clicked previously.
    Slide 2 - Same three buttons, no audio, same advanced action on each button.
    Slide 3, 4 ,5 - Slides with info on them, plus audio. On Exit each jumps back to slide 2.
    My issue is that the checkmark isn't appearing on Slide 2 when users click on a button on slide 1. If users click on a button on slide 2, the check mark appears when they come back to the page.
    I even tried adding an advanced action On Exit to slides 3, 4, 5 to make the check mark appear, but it still doesn't work on whatever button I push/slide I visit FIRST. Second attempts and other buttons work.
    Any ideas?

    Hello
    Sorry, know that I have promised to help you out but had so many deadlines and troubles yesterday. Your previous question is still marked and high on my priority list.
    You issue is linked with the fact that you have twice the same slide and I think you only need them because of the audio, they are identical for the rest. You can set the checkmarks on the first slide to display for the rest of the project and hide them on slide 3, 4, 5. Then, you'll see the checkmark on the second slide when that item has been clicked on the first slide. But the contrary will be a lot more difficult, since that means that you need the same checkmarks on both slides, but they have a different ID, what makes it a lot more cumbersome. It can be solved but will take some time.
    So my first question here is: do you really need the two slides, if it is only for the audio, that could be solved with attaching the audio to an object (posted on my blog an example where a lot of audio clips are manipulated yesterday). Is there another reason for those 2 slides?

  • How do you display skipped slides in slide switcher?

    Does anyone know how to display skipped slides in Keynote's slide switcher? I'd like to have the option of displaying skipped slides during presentations. This would be much easier than exiting out of presentation mode, right clicking the slide desired slide, selecting "don't skip slide", and re-entering presentation mode.
    It is possible to place all skipped slides at the end of the presentation and then use slide switcher to navigate to those slides as they are needed, but that dimishes the potential of skipped slides. There is also the option of placing hyperlinks to skipped slides, but convilutes the slides and the slide making process to quickly if there are many hidden slides.

    It's easy to become flustered while speaking if one cannot find their desired illustration quickly
    Absolutly agree, often had the "where am I"? feeling.
    Of course, adding multiple bottons adds clutter and would also encourage audience members to ask questions about the visible buttons.
    The technique I use here is to blank the screen using the projectors  remote control; this way there is nothing showing on the scren and I can go  look for the required slide in the menu without the audience seeing it.
    If its only 10 slides a small button at the bottom of the screen is unseen by the audience.
    I also often use a paper crib sheet included with my presentation notes which list slide number and content for this purpose.   If I need the slide with the pie chart, the sheet tells me its slide 84 so press;    8 & 4 & enter on the keyboard  enter and slide switcher instantly jumps to that slide.

  • Can I hide the cursor when screen sharing?

    I'd like to hide the cursor on the screen share device. Is that possible?

    You want to hide your cursor when sharing your screen?
    You could always hide the cursor in a corner of your monitor and then use keyboard commands to navigate your application, or, if you have second screen, leave your mouse cursor on the non-shared screen.
    There is no method of omitting your cursor from your screen share, as that is part of sharing your screen. There is the option to show the 'application' cursor, instead of the Connect Presenter cursor.

  • "choppy"  slide transition during presentation

    Whenever the slides in my presentation contain charts or graphs, the transition to that slide becomes "choppy" and slow. I press the spacebar to go to the next slide and it lags for about 10 seconds before going to that slide with graphs. Other times, when I use more dramatic transitions, it simply becomes "choppy". Why does it hang during presentation, and how can i fix it?
    *NEED HELP PLEASE*
    +Many Thanks+.

    Ok, try copying passing the chart through preview to change it from something that needs to be calculated on the fly to something that is JUST a chart. (First, be sure to save off your original presentation so that if you need to change some values, you can do that easily).
    With this backup presentation, select the chart, Copy, Open Preview, Do Command-N, Copy, then paste back into Keynote over the other chart. Delete the original chart and then try the presentation like that. If it works better, then just keep that as a separate "presenting" document, making updates as needed from your original.

  • Auto hide player controlbar when video fullscreen

    1. How to Auto hide player controlbar, when video fullscreen.
    2. and also controlbar widh when player fullsize to monitor width.
    Code
    function fullscreenOnClicked(e:MouseEvent):void {
         stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN;
    function fullscreenOffClicked(e:MouseEvent):void {
         stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.NORMAL;

          if (e.fullScreen) {
              // switch fullscreen buttons
              mcVideoControls.btnFullscreenOn.visible = false;
              mcVideoControls.btnFullscreenOff.visible = true;
              // bottom center align controls
              mcVideoControls.x = (Capabilities.screenResolutionX - 480) / 2;
              mcVideoControls.y = (Capabilities.screenResolutionY - 36);
              // size up video display
              vidDisplay.height      = (Capabilities.screenResolutionY - 36);
              vidDisplay.width      = vidDisplay.height * 4 / 3;
              vidDisplay.x          = (Capabilities.screenResolutionX - vidDisplay.width) / 2;
        } else {
              // switch fullscreen buttons
            mcVideoControls.btnFullscreenOn.visible = true;
              mcVideoControls.btnFullscreenOff.visible = false;
              // reset controls position
              mcVideoControls.x = 0;
              mcVideoControls.y = 360;
              // reset video display
              vidDisplay.y = 0;
              vidDisplay.x = 0;
              vidDisplay.width = 480;
              vidDisplay.height = 360;

    Use the below code to avoid the big size of control in fullscreen:
    import flash.display.Stage;
    import flash.display.StageScaleMode;
    import flash.display.StageAlign;
    stage.scaleMode=StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE;
    stage.align=StageAlign.TOP_LEFT;
    within resizehandler:
    function resizeHandler(e:Event):void
      mcVideoControls.x = (stage.stageWidth-mcVideoControls.width) / 2;
      mcVideoControls.y = stage.stageHeight- mcVideoControls.height ;
    This is enought nowhere you need the codes.
    Hope it solved

  • Can't link to slides in other presentations

    We build links to slides within other presentations, for
    example:
    Presentation A will have a link to slide 4 in Presentation B.
    The code for this used to be:
    http://www.place.com/breeze/presentationB/index.html
    [#slide4], and then
    http://www.place.com/adobe/presentationB/index.html
    [?slide4]
    Neither of these pieces of code is working anymore - is there
    something new to try? When I use the [?slide4], it will pop open
    the presentation, but always to slide 1, never to the slide
    specified. Help!

    Let's say you have a project that is located in the directory c:\Source\Project directory. Inside the project you have two folders called (FolderA and FolderB) with topic1 and topic2 in folder A and topic3 and topic4 in folder B. If you link from topic1 to topic 3, the link path added by RH is "foldera/topic3.htm". This is a relative path to a topic inside the project. If the project folder is moved, the link will still work provided none of the overall project folder/file structure is changed.
    The generated output - although it is by default output to the !SSL!\Webhelp folder - is not inside the project. You can link to it but if it or the project source files are moved, it run the risk of broken links. If all you are doing is trying to link to another topic in the same help project, use the approcah I have outlined above.

  • How can I play the current slide only when there is an audio recording?

    Hi,
    I have a 10 slide presentation where I am recording audio one slide at a time. If I have the current slide selected and click play, Keynote plays from the beginning of the presentation.
    Is there a way to have Keynote playback only the slide selected when audio is recorded?
    Thanks,

    Thanks! That really helped. Why does the audio recording cause so many issues when it's done using Keynote?
    humbucker,
    I don't really have an answer for that. It usually boils down to complications when all combinations of possible uses are considered. One scenario may seem a no-brainer taken by itself, but not when other options are in play.
    I was responding to your specific question about Quicktime recording. You could also use Garage Band, Audacity and the like, of course. Quicktime is just so much easier than any other option that I'm aware of for making short, simple, recordings.

  • Handsoff switch not present on iPhone 5 or iPad Air after ios8 update

    I Have updated to ios8 on both my ipad air and iphone 5 but handsoff switch isnt present?

    There are three switches. The top one enables or disables Handoff. The other two are for suggested apps, etc. Which of the two are missing? Perhaps you just need to reboot:
    Rebooting your iDevice
    Hold down the Sleep (On-Off) and Home buttons together for about 10-15 seconds or until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears - then let go of the buttons. The iPad should begin to start up.
    If that doesn't fix it, then I would reinstall iOS 8 by doing a Restore.

  • Poor keynote performance when presenting with an MBP 2.16

    Hi,
    I've been using Keynote extensively to make scientific presentations ever since it came out, first on a Powerbook G4 and then recently on an MBP 2.16. One of the reasons I got a new MacBook Pro was in fact to improve (= speed up, smooth) animations when presenting: This was acceptable on the Powerbook, but choppy on occasions, and I like my presentations to be perfect. I naturally expected a considerable improvement on the MBP.
    To my dismay, it's just the reverse: Performance is in fact absolutely horrible when presenting (that is, with the computer connected via the DVI-to-VGA connector to a projector; using the projector as a second screen): Quicktime movies embedded in the presentation are choppy, slide transitions that playted fine before now often exhibit hiccups (e.g., page flip systematically hiccups), several somewhat complex animations (such as "spinning" a large image") totally fail (instead of the cool spinning, I now get a long pause followed by the all-at-once appearance of the image!) ; it sometimes takes ages (4-5 seconds) long to "build" the next slide, leading to confusion as to whether you have requested the next slide to be displayed or not and the ensuing chaos as you make additional keypresses &c.
    Why is this? I've considered possibilites such as I am running Keynote in Rosetta (not the case), I don't have the correct OpenGL drivers after a recent upgrade snafu (the drivers are the correct version), &c. &c. Keep in mind too that this is a 1G trouble-free 2 months old machine with 10.4.7 and nothing too exotic on it. How can a faster machine with loads more VRAM run Keynote so poorly, and disappointgly much less well than my two-year-old PB G4???
    Any tips or insights appreciated.
    -- axel c.

    Thanks for your message. I've never had any trouble working with Keynote and testing out presentations on the MBP's own screen; only when projecting and displaying the presentation itself on a secondary screen. I've just ordered an extra G of RAM hoping this would perhaps help alleviate the issues, but your experience (with your 2G machine) suggests it won't change much.
    Unfortunately I deleted the demo version right away, but the fact that it works properly suggests some issue with preferences, caches or the like perhaps?
    We're not progressing much on this problem.

  • Slide switcher appearing without request

    I am using Keynote note to give my lectures, with the presenter display on my macbook and the slide being shown on the projector and I control the presentation with a remote (Kensington). Since a few weeks, I have the slide switcher showing up without me pressing any of the usual keystrokes to invoke it (+, -, =). I can't figure out what causes the switcher to show up, but whenver it does I have to walk to the laptop and press escape to get rid of it. Does anybody know what else, outside of key strokes, could trigger the switcher to display?

    If you're running in Mirrored mode, you can't get rid of the slide switcher. If you run in dual screen mode where you have the presenter screen on your laptop, the slide switcher shows up on the laptop screen and NOT the projector screen.

  • Hide mouse cursor when typing is not working in IE11 Windows7

    Hide mouse cursor when typing is not working in IE11 Windows7 - I saw a post that devs were looking at this in 2011? Slow progress huh?
    This is really annoying when you have to move the cursor to see what you are typing...

    Hi,
    Please first make sure that Mouse Properties\Pointer options\Hide pointer while typing is ticked.
    If this option is already ticked, then try following steps to troubleshoot:
    Update the driver for the mouse to get the best performance.
    Choose a different cursor as Rob said for a test.
    If this issue occurred recently, check if you have any newly installed programs or IE add-ons which cause this issue, you can test this in no add-ons mode, click start button, type "internet" in the search box, choose "internet explorer (No add-on)".
    * I test in My IE, I have Hide pointer while typing checked, and in some typing boxes in IE the cursor will hide automatically, while some are not, but I think it's not an annoying issue for me.*
