Hide specification column in result recording at plant level

Hi,
There is an requirement to hide specification column in result recording screen at plant level.
By table control we can hide the specification column but the setting is at user level or client level.
Is there any standard procedure to hide specification column at plant level.
Regards
Amol

Dear Amol,
Try this if works for you.
1.     Go to QA32
2.     Select an inspection lot
3.     Click on results
4.     Here you will get the specification column along with RR column
5.     Reduce the width of specification column just like we do in Microsoft excel by dragging it from right to left until it disappears
6.     At the right hand side you find a small table like symbol. When you move your mouse pointer towards it, it reflects as Configuration.
7.     Click it
8.     Give suitable name to variant and save
This is user ID specific.

  • Hiding Specific Columns in discoverer

    Hi all !
Is it possible to hide specific columns for some specific users ?. I have 10 columns in the table out of which 2 columns should not be visible to specific users and other 2 columns should not be visible to some specific users in the report generated.
    Thank You ,
    Philip

    Hi Philip
One option would be to create two versions of this report and use different connections - private or SSO - to implement this.
The other option may be to consider VPD to implement this functionality.

  • Hiding specification in Result recording Screen

Is it possible to hide specifications of characteristics in Result Recording screen. this is to prevent end user manipulating observed values as he shouyld not see tolerances. he only should see characteristics description and enter values. But master data will be avilable with specifications. This restriction should be there for particular roles only. all others should have normal screen during alla ctivity.
    Thanks.
    Jaison

    Hello Jaison,
Please try using the Table setting which is available in the result recording screen. You  can create a variant and make the specification field as invisible. Please take the help of ABAP and Basis and explore the possibility for the same.

    Hi.
In WebCenter Content forum you'll find more help.
However try to hide the column following this steps:
Go to Web Layout Editor applet in Administration -> Admin Applets.
In Options -> Query Results Pages and edit the StandardResults. In text 2 delete reference to revisions.
If it don't "hide" revision column then probably have to create a custom component.

If you hide the header, then the space it occupies will still
    be there, so
the rows will line up. Try using a headerRenderer wit one
    state that shows
the header text and one state that shows nothing.

  • Specifications in Result Recording

    Hi QM Gurus,
Here I encountered an interesting problem, Lower and Upper specification limit have been maintained in inspection plan.
However, when make result recording the Lower and Upper specification limit are not transported into result recording screen.
    Pls help.
    Cheers,
    Sun

    Hi Sun
I think Inspection Plan Operation Detail setting is disturbed.
Go to Change Task List (QP02) ->  Operation -> Select Operation and open Operation Details (F6) -> Scroll down  find for Recording View in Quality Management General tab.
By default Recording View is set to "Single Value & Summurized Result". If it is not then set.
Hope this will resolve your problem

  • Changing specification during result recording.

    Hello,
Is there any functionality in result recording (QE51N) which allows you to change specification for quantitative  inspection characteristic?
    Example:
specification 5,0 .. 6,0.  You record result 4,9 and change specification to 4,9 .. 5.0 which causes that valuation of inspection characteristic  is accepted
    Best Regards
    Andrzej

    Hi,
Once you assigned specifications you can not change the specifications.
How ever if you are sure every time specifications are changeing then use MIC with incomplete copy model.
Normally you will be inspecting the material (Physically) first so you will be knowing what specifications will suit to make the RR acceptable.
But this may not be acceptable to client in all situation.

  • Hide the columns header

Hi all, i just want to hide the the row that is a columns header, that is just above the numbers in the result area. The point is it's autoformated, it's just a normal row and that's all, but i need to make like twice bigger and of other color.
    How could i do it.
    Cost center  I Plant I Quantity I Price I Total I
    AMAR        I AMA I  34         I 45     I   78   I
    DART         I MAR I  76         I 23     I   97   I
So, basically i just need to hide or eliminate the first row with: Cost center, plant etc and make it myself. The problem is that with every refresh, all the formating i've done is gone.:(
    Any ideas?

You can always use Excel functionality to hide the column headers, and insert your own rows above with the headers, formatted just as you require.
HOWEVER, that wont work if you then apply extra drill-downs (or remove them).
As an alternative, don't forget that you can switch off 'Adjust format after data refresh' via Properties. This enables you to apply whatever formatting you wish. But again, watch out for what happens when you drill down, it may come up with some suprises! Oh, and when you make any changes to the query you have to re-embed it, which refreshes the original formatting (so you have to re-apply your own formatting), so I tend to end up creating a macro to automate this.
That help? Enough for points? lol

  • Hide entire column based on presentation variable?

Has anyone ever tried to do this? If user selects all records from prompt i want to display analysts assigned to those records. If user selects specific analyst i don't want to display analyst column. I know i can null out or show analyst based on presentation variable but what about hide entire column?
If this is not possible has anyone tried to use conditional formatting to hide entire column?

    Try this:
    0) Create a dashboard prompt on "analysts" and check the "All Choices" checkbox. Set the prompt to a presentation variable.
    1) Create a small report with two columns, one column will be your analyst column, the other will be a column which houses MAX(RCOUNT(1)) in the Edit Column formula window (what you get when you press the fx button). Put another filter on the analyst column set to the presentation variable with one of the analysts as the default.
    2) Put a filter on the the MAX(RCOUNT(1)) column "greater than 1"
    3) Create two copies of your actual report, one which has the analyst column, one without.
    4) Now in your dashboard you will need three sections, one for your prompt, one for the "with column" report and one for the "without column" report.
    5) In the Section Properties of the "with column" report, click on "Guided Navigation" and navigate to the small report you created in step one. Set this section to display "if request returns rows." Don't forget the filter on this report set to the presentation variable.
    6) In the Section Properties of the "without column" report, click on "Guided Navigation" and navigate to the small report you created in step one. Set this section to display "if request returns nothing." This report will not need a filter on the analyst prompt, because by definition it will display all analysts.
Now when "all choices" is selected on the prompt, the second report displays in the dashboard, and when a single analyst is selected, then the first report will display with the analyst column.

  • Unplanned MIC during result recording

    Dear Gurus,
Can anybody tell me what is means by Unplanned MIC.
How do I create the same in Inspection Plan and make result recording.
    Srinivasan.

    Dear Srinivas,
Normally all MICs are copied from the task list.
The business requirement may arise to include new MIC in the result recording screen.
Any number of MICs can be inserted in the result recording screen.
    But deletion is not possible.
As these Master Insp. Char. are not in the original task list,
    They are called unplanned MIC.
To add a MIC,in general tab  "+" sign --> you can click.
or Edit --> craete additional Characteristic or F5 in the key board
You will get a pop up window.
Name of the window --> Master Insp. Char. selection
The window contains three line items
    1. Master Inspec. Charac. -
    2. Plant -
    3. Version -
    Ex.: MIC : MR001004
    Plant :1000
    Version : 1
    Enter.
We get the next popup window
Name of the window :Change the specification of unplanned char.
Normally you have to mention the "SAMPLING PROCEDURE".
    Click "CHECK" BUTTON.
    Click "COPY" BUTTON.
We get the message as "Inspection characteristic was created with number 8000"
Similarly next MIC serial number will be 8010.
    ie 8000, 8010, 8020, and so on.
8000 series clearly indicates that these MICs are created manually in the Result Recording Screen.
When ever you want to check the new requirement ie thro the MIC, create it manually in RESULT RECORDING SCREEN.
    This is called "UNPLANNED MIC".
    Hope that this is clear.

  • Result Recording QA32

    Dear Experts,
In QA32 when we want to enter result for particular inspection lot, there is column for result and original value, whenever a user enter some values in the result text field, the original value column automatically inserted.
    My questions are:
    1. I found some inspection lots that had all the result value filled in but the original values are blank, what may caused this situation?
assuming that the original values are updated automatically each time the result columns are filled in.
    2. Where do I found the table column to store this result field? because I can't find it in QASR or in QAMR tables.
Please help, any help will be highly appreciated.
    Sincerely,

    Hi
    Original Value Before Input Processing
In this field, the system saves the original value that was actually entered during results recording. Attributes that may have been entered are also saved (for
    Means
1.suppose you entered 10.200 value but the data you have maintained allows you to only aceept 10.2 as a vlaue.
then Measured value: 10.2 & Original value will be :10.200
Original Value : This is what you have entered during result recording.

  • Column definition for a specific column in a view

Is there a way to query the metadata to get the definition of a single column in a view? I can see the complete DDL for a view from USER_VIEWS.TEXT, and I can see the column listing in USER_TAB_COLUMNS to give the datatype etc. However, what I'm looking for is the DDL that defined a specific column.
    So, given:
    create table PERSON (
    SSN VARCHAR2(12),
    FIRST_NAME VARCHAR2(25),
    LAST_NAME VARCHAR2(25),
    STREET VARCHAR2(40),
    CITY VARCHAR2(30),
    STATE VARCHAR2(30),
    ZIP VARCHAR2(15),
    COUNTRY VARCHAR2(35))
    create view PERSON_VW as
    select SSN,
    FIRST_NAME,
    LAST_NAME,
    FIRST_NAME || ' ' || LAST_NAME FULL_NAME
    from PERSON
I expect the query might look something like:
    select DDL from metadata where table_name = 'PERSON_VW' and column_name = 'FULL_NAME'
    and the result would be: "PERSON.FIRST_NAME || ' ' || PERSON.LAST_NAME"
    or select DDL from metadata where table_name = 'PERSON_VW' and column_name = 'FIRST_NAME'
and the result would be: "PERSON.FIRST_NAME"
    Thanks!

    Hi again Barry,
When I queried user_tab_columns (or dba_tab_columns or all_tab_columns), I have the following list of columns:
    TABLE_NAME
    COLUMN_NAME
    DATA_TYPE
    DATA_LENGTH
    DATA_PRECISION
    DATA_SCALE
    NULLABLE
    COLUMN_ID
    DEFAULT_LENGTH
    DATA_DEFAULT
I don't see anything resembling the DDL for the view column. Somewhere underneath some
cover I haven't peeked under, Oracle must be keeping track of what it is supposed to be giving
for, in my example, FULL_NAME.Unless I'm very much mistaken, these columns' data (per table) looks pretty much like DDL to me.
Maybe what you need is just SQL Developer (great tool, if you don't have it, get it!).
And it's free (as in beer - not as in speech! :( )
Beside the connections tab is a "Reports" tab with various, as you might expect ;), reports.
One of them is on the Tables - with (some) DDL. This will work as a once-off if that's what
    you need?
Otherwise there's the SQL tab if you open a table under connections - it's very complete - sample
