Hide (suppress) Message

Hello,
I have a question. How can I hide or suppress message (E,I,W) while I am calling any program via submit? I am submitting a report and it gives an error message but I still want to continue inspite of the error message. Is there a way to suppress or hide messages?

Hi Mayank,
I got a somewhat different solution for your case. You must have given it a thought already. Not sure if it is acceptable in your case.
If it is just one ( SAP ) report that you are using, then you can just copy that report into a Z-report and call it. Now since you have the report in your namespace, you can edit the report to make any modifications that you want like suppressing the error messages.
However, I do not understand why you would want to suppress the error message and continue the processing. An error message will be issued on some error condition and you want to override that and thereby alter the functionality ? Why would you want to do that ?

Hi Sri,
you can either show the message box or not show it.
Maybe you can hide some messages by a script item.
also you can disable some messages for queries in RSRT.

• Hide/Suppress Cost center field in MIGO and MB1A for movement types 551&552

Hi All,
Can anybody tell me how to suppress or hide the cost center field in MIGO or MB1A for movement types 551 and 552?
I did below settings and it worked fine for only MB1A and for MIGO still it is showing cost center field.
IMG > Materials Management > Inventory Management and Physical Inventory >Goods Issue/Transfer posting > Define screen layout > select movement type to change the option.
Also I did gothrough the settings for Enjoy transaction (MIGO) there we have only option to make fields either "Required entry" or "Optional entry" and we don't have an option to hide/suppress.
Please advise or help me .
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Praveen

Hi
The cost center field is a required field in mvt type 551 as you are scrapping materials, some cost center will need to take the cost of this operation.
Anyway, you first need to make the field as optional for example, before you move.
One option is that you create a screen variant in Tcode SHD0 for MB1A, where 551 is setup as constant (with content) , and mark Cost center as invisible and assign this screen variant to a transaction in SE93.

• How to Suppress Message in Forms

Hi,
Kidnly help in the following situation:
I write a procedure in post_query trigger if line_location_id is null then
fetch the value from line master table .when ever the cursor focus on that block,
it asks "Do you want to save". I want to supress this message when the focus moved on this block. Once the user completed his task then only it asks "Do you want to save". How to do it .
Kindly help me.
Thanks,
Sri.

some message like "do you want to save your changes" cannot be suppressed.
And if possible, don't use :system.message_level, because mostly you suppress messages, that you don't want to suppress.
Maybe use ON-ERROR and ON-MESSAGE - trigger on form level. Then you can filter these messages explicit in this case.
try it

• "Hide Related Messages" button shouldn't be grayed out

New iMac, OS X Lion, Mail 5.1, everything migrated over from older iMac running Snow Leopard
Getting used to the way Lion handles some things in Mail has been a challenge for one of my coworkers. But this one has me stumped.
Normally, when you select a message that is part of a Conversation, you can click on the "Hide Related Messages" button to look at just the message you have selected. But, for this person, the "Hide Related Messages" button is grayed out - even when a message that's part of a conversation with multiple messages is selected. They really want to be able to look at their messages one at a time without seeing every message tied to it as well.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Anyone?

• Mail's "Hide Related Messages" doesn't stick?

I recently upgraded to Mountain Lion and am now running into an issue that I haven't found any information on.
In Mail I often open up an email into a new window if I'll be referring to it often. With Mountain Lion it defaults this to the "Show Related Messages" view with that white message over the OSX grey background and all the related emails threaded below it. I don't want this. I go up to View -> "Hide Related Messages" and it goes away.... only to return when I restart Mail, restart my computer, log out/in, or even sometimes when I come back from screensaver or the dashboard. I can't for the life of me get this "Hide Related Messages" setting to stick.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Try Mail Preferences/Viewing/Include related messages (uncheck that box). I just upgraded to Mountain Lion and had roughly the same problem which I fixed this way. I prefer to have that as an icon on my toolbar, which you can add by going to the View menu, Customize toolbar, and drag the "show related messages" icon to the toolbar.

• Overview of suppressed messages under transaction RSRT ?

Hi experts !
I wonder if there's a way to have an overview of all the messages suppressed in transaction RSRT ? A kind of table which shows what message is suppressed for what query ? Because I suppressed a message linked to a query and I didn't remember what query (but I remember what message !)
Best regards

Hi Maria,
It is possible to see which reports have some of the warning messages suppressed but its difficult to find out which messages were suppressed.
In order to get the list of reports for which the warning messages are suppressed, go to the table RSRREPDIR, give the version as 'A' and display all the entries in this table. Display only the fields 'ID', Version, Infocube, QUery and 'Suppress Messages'. Then you sort the list in descending order of the field 'Suppress Messages'.
If there is a number in the field 'Suppress Messages' for example : the value is '4000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000' it means there is one or more messages suppressed for this query, if the value for Suppress Messages is '0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000' that means there are no warning messages suppressed.
Usually if there is one digit in this field, it means there is one message suppressed, 2 digits - 2 messages etc... but i have not used it much.
You can then go to RSRT and check the exact messages suppressed for these queries.

Shilpa

• Cannot change Hide Sent Messages setting

I have a user that had his Curve 8530 replaced. With his previous unit, he had the Hide Sent Messages setting (in Messages - General Options) set to Yes. With his new unit, everytime he changes that setting to Yes and saves the change the sent messages are not hidden. He goes back into the options and the setting is back to No. No matter how many times he's changed and saved the setting it doesn't work. He can change other settings on this screen (like Hide Read Filed Messages) and those settings remain saved. He cannot change the Hide Sent Messages for some reason. He's removed the battery and still doesn't work. We are on the Enterprise Server and I can't find anything in there that would have changed that would be preventing this. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hello,
Nope...there is no such setting. My hope is that as they continue to develop the product, that they will even further enhance the replication of the on-device experience into Blend. But, for now, it is what it is.
Good luck!

• Can't seem to hide filed messages

I am a new BB curve user and I can't seem to hide filed messages. I've set "yes" to this prompt in the general message options, but I can't get rid of stuff I've already dealt with -- read or unread. What am I missing here???

okay I'll give an example, it's easier to understand.
you receive a mail in Outlook, and you receive it on your Blackberry device. On the device, it is stored in the "Messages" folder.
Then in Outlook, you move a message from one folder to another.
There is a mechanism that will move the same email on your device, from the folder to the new one. That automatic mecanism is called "email reconciliation for filed messages". That feature is available only if you have BES (= the corporate Blackberry server). Moreover, you can see that the folders in Outlook do not exist on your device (I am under BES and I have them : menu >> View Messages).
From what I understand from your messages, you are using BIS (personal Blackberry) so you can't use that feature.

• Hide sent messages keeps reverting to No......

I just got a 9300 and I previously had an old 2G curve. We have an Enterprise server I believe at work. Everything transferred perfectly except one thing. When I go in messages and choose options, hide sent messages, YES and hit save........and then go back to look again, it has changed back to NO. Every time!!!! It doesn't do this for Hide Filed Messages.....just the Hide Sent Messages. It's very weird.
I have taken out the SIM and battery.
Anyone any ideas? I know I can Alt and I to just see incoming but I shouldn;t have to do that every time as I didn't on the old BB
Thanks

• Another technique to hide a message in wbmp image (1 bit image)

1. i would like to know is there another technique or method that i can do to hide
message in wbmp image format without loosing the quality of the image?
if i use LSB technique, it would loosing the quality of the image because LSB technique is no suitable
for WBMP image but it used widely in BMP,JPEG and other image format because the images are
8bit to 24 bit of color representation.please give me a hint to solve my problem. any technique would
be fine as long it can hide message in wbmp image format.
thank you

You are asking for something impossible. To be able to hide a message in an image without noticeable loss of quality, either the image should contain a lot more information than the message, or you should have a preconception of what's in the image. Usually the latter is not possible, and in the case of bitmap images like wbmp the former is not true. You need at least 32 bits to encode one letter (assuming English alphabet) and that's already 32 pixels. But if the picture is big and the 32 pixels are scattered all around you might not notice the change.
Let's make a thought experiment: suppose we were to store 64 characters (a short line of text) using 32 bits per character, we'd need 32*64 pixels just for this information. Experimenting with a graphics program shows that putting more than 8 random pixels in a block of 64x64 pixels already gets noticeable (depending on image). 32*64/8 = 256, so we'll need 256 of 64x64 pixel blocks to store all the information. So total the image should have at least 256*64*64 pixels. If the image was square sized, the size would have to be at least 1024x1024 pixels to encode one single line of text!
I'm not familiar with the wbmp file format though, maybe there's a way to include a hidden comment header that doesn't affect the graphics area.

• Suppress Message in RSRT

Hi. I am getting a warning in BEx report, Brain Message number 223. When I go to RSRT--> Messages, I don't find the message number in any of the message categories.
Is there a way to insert the message number 223 in RSRT--->Messages?
Thanks all.

Could not find a quick way to add missing messages in the RSRT suppress messages option...
May be there is a standard userexit that can be used to populate data into the underlying table.
However, there is an option in the BEx itself, where you can suppress all messages. In case you don't know that, it can be set-up by going to the 'Business Explorer' tab on the menu bar then 'settings' then 'suppress warnings from server'.
This setting will suppress all the warning messages.
Hope this helps.
