Hide the center guide in a spread

When viewing a two-page spread, allow the user to hide the center guide (the thin black line that separates the spread).
I wrote a question about it here:
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/541106?tstart=0
There were some helpful workarounds, but it would seem like a simple option to "hide center guide in spread"

Hi Thoric,
Unfortunately, it is not currently possible to hide the Deployment Progress dialog box when deploying Shared Variables in and executable. This is confirmed in the Knowledge Base article below.
Can You Hide the Deploy... Dialog Box that Displays when Downloading to Real-Time Targets Or Buildin...
I certainly agree with you however that this is a great recommendation for a future feature in LabVIEW and as such I recommend that you post it as a suggestion on the Product Suggestion Center which I have also linked below for your convenience.

  • How do you put a guide on the center of the canvas?

    Hi all!
    In earlier versions of Photoshop, you would snap at the center of any canvas while dragging a guide. In CS3, that behavior appears to be gone. Or is it?
    Mike Witherell in Silver Spring, MD

    How often do you have the need for center-snapped guidelines, Mike?
    If only occasionally, how tough is it to use the technique I first mentioned?
    If a lot, remember that it can be made into a custom Photoshop Action.
    You're whining about something extremely minor, something that only takes about 5 seconds when done manually. Better you should complain about something important.

    No, there isn't what you are looking for. Maybe someone else have a work around.
    Download the Pages User Guide by going to the Help menu in Pages. there you see what you can do.

  • How do i hide the counter?

    Hi everybody, i just published my first iWeb site yesterday (great app) and this morning i decided after all to insert a hit counter on some pages. The thing is i would like this counter to be visible ONLY to me, or differently worded, i'd like to make it invisible to visitors. i was able to select this option in the old homepage edit, but how do i do that in iWeb? Thanks for your help.
    You can also visit the site at http://web.mac.com/buquet/ -any feedback is welcome (Bob Dylan fans should click the top link 'BobStories'!).
    Oh, yes, are there any rulers in iWeb?
    iMac 800 G4 flat panel, 160Gb external FireWire   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    To hide the counter, just put it behind another object, like an image for instance. Just drag the counter graphic on top of an image, then click on the "Back" button on the bottom of the iWeb window to force it back behind the image layer.
    As far as rulers go, the closest thing that iWeb has built in is the Inspector Metrics tab where you can specify exact sizes of objects and the like. There are no on screen rulers like guides and such. I think Michael Wong has devised a method of using various sized shapes of predetermined size to gauge onscreen distances and alignment...

    Hi Quinn,
    I am surprized that apple makes me go to a custom rule to chose a white font color.
    To get
    Or use the colour window: View > Show Colors (shift command c).
    Click on a colour to apply it to text of selected cells.
    Drag a colour to the selected cells to apply it as the Fill:

  • How can I make the ruler guides work?

    I am working on a large document. For some reason, I cannot extend the ruler guides onto most pages. They will appear on some pages though. Does anyone know why this happens and how to fix it?

    If the mouse is over a page when you release, the guide will be confined to that page, so horizontal guides will appear only on one side of a two-page spread. You can hold Ctrl (Cmd) while dragging to make them extend across the entire spread and pasteboard, or releas the mouse over the pasteboard for the same result.

    You just define first column and last column you want to hide from method:
    CALL METHOD go_excel->go_spreadsheet->hide_columns
      EXPORTING
        name     = 'test'
    *    no_flush = ' '

  • Anyone notice the Smart Guides bug in CS5?

    ID CS5 has a Smart Guides bug when resizing frames to match the size of other frames.  When releasing the mouse after the Smart Guides pop up showing the sizes are equal the frame size changes.  When analyzing this it appears the frame does not resize to where the SmartGuides popped up but where the cursor is located.  There is also jumpiness between the position of cursor and where the Smart Guides pop up.  This behavior occurs vertically and horizontally.  While some jumpiness still exist, it works reliably when frames are aligned.  In other words, if a frame is resized to a point where two sides are aligned then the size of the frame does not change when the mouse is released.
    I have verified the bug in both Windows and Mac versions of IDCS5.
    None of the behavior exist with Smart Guides in ID CS4.
    Is anyone else experiencing this behavior?

    Thanks for checking Peter.
    I am using a laptop, Mac OSX 10.5.8, with ATI Radeon X1600.  The issue still existed wtih my Wacom tablet mouse and a Logitech mouse.  I also just uninstalled the program and reinstalled it and the issue still existed.
    This issue also exists on an iMac with Windows 7 running ID CS5 for Windows.
    Are you using a Mac by any chance?  The issue does not exist so much when the frames are aligned.  So, if you are trying it out and Smart Guides creates a line connecting the two frames you need to move them out of alignment.  Also, if your cursor is dead center over the edge of the frame all is ok.  What it's really doing is snapping to where the cursor is and not to where the Smart Guides popped up.  I'll be really surprised if you're not seeing it with a Mac.

  • How do I get the layout guides (A,B,C column headers and 1,2,3 Row Headers) to print with my spreadsheet?

    How do I get the Layout Guides (A,B,C column headers and 1,2,3 Row Headers) to print on my spreadsheet? They are invaluable for discussing the data with my clients over the phone.
    They appear while I am editing, but don't print with the spreadsheet. I know how to do it in Excel, but I am transitioning to Numbers. I can't imagine I have to type them into their own columns and rows. It must be a difference in vernacular that I can't find the solution in the User Guide. Can anyone help?

    Hi ktjobauer,
    Numbers is not Excel and Excel is not Numbers. Numbers is WYSIWYG (at least in File > Print and the actual printout).
    I can't imagine I have to type them into their own columns and rows.
    No, you don't. You can use the charm of Numbers to create cell references for your Excel clients.
    In this Numbers Table, I have added some extra Columns that you can hide later.
    Column B =COLUMN(A2)
    Column C =HLOOKUP(B2,'Table 1-1' :: $1:$2,2,FALSE)      [explanation later]
    Column D =ROW(B2)
    Column E =C2&D2
    Add those formulas to the first Body Row (below the Header Row) and Fill Down.
    Column C refers to another Table which you need only create once, to convert a Column number to a letter:
    and so on from 1-26, A-Z.
    You can move the second Table to another Sheet to hide it. Formulas will automatically adjust to keep the links between Sheets.
    Now in the first Table, select and Hide Columns B,C,D. Formulas will continue to work with hidden cells:

  • How do you select the center of a box in CS5?

    I notice in CS5 that you can no longer select a box - say a picture box - click on the center and snap it to a guide or move to a location. You can only grab the edge of the box to move it. I'm sure this is a vast improvement but I don't like it. Is there a pref to turn on or off to be able to select an object at it's center? Thx.

    Hmmm. ID doesn't put the old center dot in a frame anymore, at least not most of the time, but the center should still be snapping, regardless of where you grab the frame. I'm not seeing any necessity to grab the edge (though if you have the content grabber turned on it's not difficult to accidentally move the content instead of the frame). What are you seeing?

  • Can we hide the Institution Welcome Page from public view in iTunes U?

    We want to start evaluating iTunes U, and have an account. We want to pilot with just a few private courses, and don't want the public to see an empty Welcome Page.
    Is there any way to hide everything, including the Welcome Page, unless you sign in?
    I did not see this feature mentioned in the Administrator's guides.
    Thanking anyone for feedback.

    Frank,
    This is covered in the admin guide. The exact way to do this depends on if you are using basic or advanced access.
