Hide the group tree while previewing the report

Hello! Everyone i would like to hide the group tree which comes in the report while previewing it when i preview the report each time the group tree in the left hand side appears everytime i know i can hide and unhide it from the toolbar in the upperside but i dont want it to dispaly the group tree while previewing it as default , Is it possible to do that.
Pls Help out it will be a great help

In CMC when i preview the reports which has a group category i can see the groups showing up in the left hand side by default everytime when i preview the reoport i can disable it in the upper toolbar but is there any way i can set up the group to hidden whenever i preview the report. So, that the groups are not shown in the left hand side whenever i preview report.
Pls. help me out

Thanks a lot SKodidine, i tried it and published the report through CMC and while seeing the preview in CMC i didnt see the left panel for groups and i also didnt see the Groups tree hide and unhide button at the top of the report, we dont want the panel at the left but we want the button at the top which use to come with the Groups to hide and unhide the group tree panel at the left pls. guide me how can i do it.

Hide the 'group tree' in crystal reports 2008

Hey Guys,
Please help me out.
I need to hide the group tree which automatically shoots on the crystal report after execution.
This is what i need to see. Only the report data (After report execution) i do not need to see the group tree under the tab 'main report' which appears on the left had side of the report.
I know that in the previous version there was an option which would hide the group tree option under File>Report Option> uncheck Group tree.
But there is no option here in CR 2008.
Is there a code i need to insert somewhere in the report??

Thanks for your quick reply, I was late on the reply because I had a load of other things to do. Sorry for that....
I am aware that we can click the toggle panel to remove the group tree.
But a user wants to hide the group tree on 1st run,,,, that is causing the problem.....
I cant seem to find an option we can disable group tree for the user, so that he may not view the group tree..

Report as an Inquiry tool - Controlling the Group Tree

Users would like to be able to use this report as an inquiry tool... having trouble with displaying only relevant data (or at least highlighting the appropriate/relevant data on the left hand window pane - aka the Group Tree).
Perhaps the report needs to be reconfigured as a subreport?
Here is the issue, any hints or suggestions are welcome!

Report Groups on Last Name
Transaction detail; totaling an amount field (logic works to suppress if total of all transactions is not equal to zero) -- Report is reporting on zero balance records by last name --
Selection expert;
Sum ({transactions.Amount},{MASTER.HEAD_L_NAME}) >= $0.009 (group selection)
{MASTER.UNIT_ID} = "" (record selection)
Of the 10,000 records returned (unit id = blank), 200 records have a sum of zero in the amount fields (the sum of all transactions by last name) u2013 this all works fine
Is there a method to control what the users see on the group tree? What it is displaying on the left are the Group records (10,000) by last name who have a blank unit id in the master file... drilling down on one of the 200 transactions where the record meets both criteria works fine...but the other 8,800 records don't meet the detail/transaction criteria, so there is nothing to display and hence the drill down makes no sense when used as a query - The correct records are shown on the report - that is, if the users printed the report, they would get records which meet both criteria...
Can only records show on the left side when they meet both the group (id = blank) and detail (transactions summed = 0) selection criteria?
Or can they at least these that meet both criteria be highlighted in some way?

try using Group selection (select expert->group) along with record selection.

CRVS2010 Beta - How do you hide the Group Tree for Visual Studio 2010

Would anyone know how to hide the group tree in the Crystal Reports viewer for Visual Studio 2010. I have tried
DisplayGroupTree="False" and found the property doesn't exist in the new version for VS 2010. I have search in the designer options and found nothing. Note this report is for ASP.net.

Report Header is hided when navigating in the Group Tree

Hello there,
I have an issue when navigating in CR reports by using the Group Tree. When I chose an entry in the tree, the Report header is hided. Please advise what needs to be changed in order to keep the report header during Group Tree navigation

Report Header is only visible on the first page of the report. If you click on an entry that is on the first page of the report, is the report header visible then?
If you want the information in the report header visible on every page, consider moving it to a page header.

Error while previewing the BIP report

While previewing the report in BI Publishr desktop,i am getting the following error.
JAVA EXECUTION FAILED.PLEASE CHECK THE JAVA OPTION IN OPTION DIALOG BOX.
WINDOWS CANNOT FIND 'C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\+USER+\LOCAL'.MAKE SURE YOU TYPED THE NAME CORRECTLY AND THN TRY AGAIN.TO SEARCH FOR A FILE,CLICKTHE START BUTTON, AND THEN CLICK SEARCH.
I have JDK version 6 installed in my system.
I have already checked for the java option in oracle bi publisher-->>options-->>java home.
still i am getting the above error.

I have put this option but it is not resolving the issue.
Now when i click on preview,it is giving error :
Windows cannot find "C:/Documents and settings/asingh93/Local".Make sure you type name correctly ,and then try again"
But i dont know from where it is searching for this local folder and why.

Cant select the group tree

Morning All
I have a crystal report in which I have multiple groups and subreports in the group footers.
I am not able to select the group tree coz i dont see the group name.
It's a very complex report and the group tree is very much important.
Please help.

1. What is the version of Crystal Reports that you are using? CRXIR2
2. Do you have BusienssObjects Enterprise installed? Yes we have.
3. What's the patch level of the enterprise and CR? both are SP2.
Is it happenibng from Crystal Reports Designer Stand Alone applicationor from Infoview? We do use infoview but I am getting this issue in the Crystal Reports Designer itself.
It's going critical now.

Resizing the group tree width

Hi,
I was wondering , if there is a way to re-size the width for the group tree in DHTML viewer . When a report is rendered, and if it has a group , then there is a pan that's shown in the left side of the report . Is there a way to set the width of it like a parameter file or SDK , to make it 5% or some width that I want , rather than the default.

Formatting the Group Tree?

I create grouped reports in Crystal all the time. (I am now using CRXI.) One little pet peeve I have is how Crystal presents the Group Tree when I am using a number field for my grouping. For example, we have order numbers like 10128276 and if I want to group my report on the order number, the group tree will do so, but the order numbers will look like this: 10,128,276.00. This looks like a mistake to my endusers. Sure, I can live with it, but I would love to hear of a way to format what appears in the Group Tree. Why doesn't the formatting of the group header get carried over into the group tree? Thanks! [email protected]

PDF Export - Group Trees When Using Sub Reports

Hi
I have a complex Crystal Reports 2008 report which links to various Sub Reports using a classic Master-Child relationship via the Sub Report Linking options.
The report works fine but when I am Exporting the Master report to PDF and the Group Tree gets exported correctly for the Master but none of the Group Trees in the Child Sub Reports get exported. Unfortunately the report Preview doesn't show the Group Tree for Sub Reports either - I'm guessing that both issues are intrinsically linked.
Does anyone have any ideas? Is this a bug or does Crystal Reports 2008 not support this?

Error while previewing Crystal Reports in SAP B1

Dear Experts,
I have installed the Crystal Reports Addon to SAP B1 2007B, and it works fine with the sample reports in B1.
My problem is as given below.
I have created Covering Letter report for the Cheque printing functionality. Preview and all is ok in the Crystal Report designer.
But it shows error while trying to preview it in SAP B1.
The Error Message is: Failed to retrieve data from the database. Details: [Database vendor code: 207]

If I use the tables directly in the reports, the above query would contain the database base name also as prefix to the table in the FROM clause.
Eg

How to avoid it? Is there any settings in the designer?
Query in the Sample report doesnot have the database name as prefix.
What shall I do for that?

Dear Toms,
DBName.dbo.OCHO is the right format for CR. You could not avoid it. Why should you?
On the other hand, it is not a good idea to rename DB name to such a long name. What is the purpose?

Error "Test Agent could not connect to the test controller" while configuring the Test Agent on Client machine

Hi,
I am getting an Error “Test Agent could not connect to the test controller”
while configuring The Test Agent on Client machine.
Pre-requisite used:
VS2012 update 4, Test agent & Test controller of same version used
User has TFS admin access.
Same user id used for configuring Test Agent.
Description:
Test controller is installed on server A. I want to install test agent on client machine B.
Windows Fire wall is OFF on both Machines A & B. While configuring Test Agent below error is occurred:
“Test Agent could not connect to the test controller”
In log file error was “I, 2015/04/02, 15:32:21.723, Could not get the status from the test agent. Exception: Failed to connect to an IPC Port: The system cannot find the file specified.”
In Event viewer below error details given:
Unable to connect to the controller on ‘My Server: 6901’. The agent can connect to the controller but the controller cannot connect to the agent because of following reason: The requested name is valid, but no data of the requested type was found.
Make sure that the firewall on the test agent machine is not blocking the connection.
Could you please help me to find solution?

So on each computer, you create a local user account that is a member of the Administrators group, and use the same account and password on each machine(controller and Agent), am I right?
