Hide the Section in 11g

Experts,
I have placed a Prompts(Filters) and Charts in same section and the section is hided by default (Used - Use Custom CSS style is Display:None).
When ever the user needs to display the charts they have expand and close the section by manually. But My problem is when I select the values from Prompts(filter) and hit Apply then immediately the section is hiding. But I need to display the prompts and Charts when I have select the filters.
Please let me know any suggestion to change the CSS style instead of Display:None

Hi Amith,
Is your sollution possible on the same page? I have 9 charts that are the same, just with a different selection made. It would be much easier for me to just maintain one version of the chart, and 9 prompts as you say on your link. I understand how your method works for different pages. But if I use multiple prompts on the same field on the same page, although in different sections, the first prompt overrides the default choice for the others.

Just to get the terminology correct. I believe you are meaning the Group Tree(?).

How do you hide the Page Options button on dashboards in 11g?

Hello,
I would like to hide the "Page Options" button on a dashboard in 11g. I found some examples on how to do it in 10g, and they all talk about editing a file called dashboardtemplates.xml. I can't find this file on my 11g BI server, so I'm assuming the file was part of 10g but not 11g. Has anyone figured out how to hide the "Page Options" button on a dashboard in 11g?

thanks for your reply, but I have a feeling that your solution is for obiee 10g and not for obiee 11g. We are using 11g, and when running Analytics (Answers), I don't see a "Settings" option, but I seem to recall that in 10g there is a "Settings" button/link. Also, I don't understand how your solution answers my question. You describe how to grant "everyone" read permissions on dashboards, but I want to know how to hide the "Page Options" button on dashboards.

Hide the table view in OBIEE 11g

Hi All,
The requirement is to hide the table view and display only the export link on the Dashboard. This could be achieved in 10g by inserting display:none CSS style in each column property. Tried the same in 11.1.1.3, the data is hidden but it still shows empty cells on the screen. Any thoughts?

Hide the Narrative View in 11g

Hi,
I have a requriment where users want to hide the filter view on the report and should be able to see only when they download or print the report.I don't find option to hide on the Default Filter View (i.e. in CSS properties DISPLAY:NONE).Instead I am trying if it is possible in Narrative View to call the Column @1 and hide it in report and show only when they download the report.
Any ideas?Really appreciate your help

I got it to hide the narrative text and display only when downloaded.
div style=display:none@1/div. But can we do it on Filter View?

SRM 5.0 - how to hide a section/tab in shopping cart

Hi.
Is it possible to hide a whole section of the shopping cart, like "Ship-to address" or "Source of Supply"? I've used BADI to hide the fields in these sections and it works, however, I'd like to not show the sections at all including section headers.

1.     You have to create BADI implementation in SE19. In the bottom portion of the screen select Classic BAdi and enter BBP_UI_CONTROL_BADI as BAdi Name. Click Create Impl button
2.     Type in text and implementation name (usually something like ZBBP_UI_CONTROL_BADI)
3.     Attributes Tab. add Filter - ObjectType BUS2121 for Shopping Cart
4.     Interface Tab. Double-click on method BBP_SC_UI_CTRL
5.     Example of display only fields in Ship-to Address section:

How to hide the table header if no data present

I need to hide the table header if no data present. Table has 5 column. if no any clolumn has data then this table section should not be display.
i am using <?if:count(Installation_Event_S19)= 0?> but this is not work for me.

You will probably have to create a Formula column at the Group level above to count if there are any non NULL values, when checking if there is any data
in implementing DM's suggestion.

How to hide a section/link based on condition

Hi All,
I have three sections in my dashboard page; two of the section contains prompt that the user needs to run before. The Third section contains a link to Run the report. I need to hid the link, Run Report until the users fill the prompt and hit the Go button. How can I achieve this?

Okay here are some tips for navigating this forum...
1) If someone offers a suggestion, respond like "yes, it worked" or "no, it didn't work," then explain how it didn't work if possible (Did you get an error message?, unexpected results, etc.)
2) Even if a solution may not have been exact, if it helped you give you new insight or if someone took the time to develop an answer that helps you understand your problem beter, you can and should award "helpful" points.
3) If the answer either solves your problem or validates what you thought, mark it as "correct" and acknowledge the providers of hints and solutions. ("Thanks guys for your help," etc.)
4) Finally close the thread itself.
Doing this would motivate others to help you in the future when you ask your next question. (It is possible to "watch" a user and never answer their question again, if the poster is rude or ungrateful.)

Using javascript to hide/enable sections on a dashboard

Version - OBIEE 11.1.1.6.1
I am trying to display/hide a section based on the user selecting a value from a radio button(variable prompt). These sections contain reports(which use different filter criteria) and have different prompts .
ie If value A is selected in radio button, prompt C and report D should be visible
if value B is selected in radio button, prompt X and report Y should be visible
I am able to do this by using condition(which uses a hidden analysis) on a section but that refreshes/reloads the report sections even before the corresponding prompts are applied which does not provide a good user experience.
Can this be done by Javascript?
I am able to hide a section through javascript based on radio button selection by calling - saw.dashboard.onToggleSection('<dashboard-section-id>',null);
However I am not able to find a way to enable the other section. Has anyone been able to use JS to hide/unhide a section?
Any suggestions/inputs appreciated

I really don't see why there would be a need to script wildly when you can easily achieve this with conditional reports which are just listening for the values currently in the radio buttons, return some bogus line and then enabling or disabling sections.
E.g. section condition: ROWCOUNT("DoesTheRadioButtonSayBlaBlaBla") > 0

I have requirement in portal CE 7.1 as follows.
all GP tasks are getting displayed in UWL that is fine.
i want to hide the link "Attachment" in the preview of a Task??
once i open the task from UWL then that task item opens in new window where i am getting the "Attachment" link that i wanted to hide or remove.

There are Subject, From, Send Date, Attachment .... columns.
Do you want to hide Attachment column?

How can I have the attachments options be hidden? Our users do not want to add attachments.
In the UWL iview properties update the proprety "List of preview sections to hide (SUBJECT, ATTRIBUTES, DESCRIPTION, ATTACHMENTS, NOTES, USERDECISION, and/or ACTIONS)." Enter ATTACHMENTS as a value.

I'm trying to hide the status bar using the feature in the advanced section of enable java script. I did a search in the help window of Firefox 5.0 and it shows the area in options to do this. I followed the instructions but the feature in my advanced area does not offer this selection. Hide the expansion icon on a jtree.

I need to hide the expansion icon (the "+") on a jtree.
I tried to use DefaultTreeCellRenderer and the L&F options, but they hide all of the "+" icons of the tree. I need to hide the icons depending if the node has no-leaf icons.

In BIEE 11g,
How to hide the Print and Export button in analytics report or tasks pane ?
For example:
In console,I have created one userA which is belong to BIConsumer GROUP , when I make use of the highest user 'weblogic' to create one simple report, then the userA will login the analytivs to view this report (not dashboard), it will show the print and export as below.So customers do not want to give him the privilege for printing and exporting.
In addtion, go to catalog->tasks(left corner), it will also show the print and export button. So how to hide or not access these button?
Note: Maybe it can use the policy for consumer role for implementing this requirement, but I do not know how to modify the policy. Are you facing the problem? Thanks.

1. Create seperate folder for Reports & Dashobard.
2. For BI_Consumer (userA) set the catalog permission to view Dashboard Folder only and remove permission on the Report Folder (you can give traverse permission but don't give Open permision).
3. By this user won't be able to open or run any reports in that folder and the only way he can see the reports is through Dashboard and on dashboard the export and print buttone can be removed very easily.

How to hide the default windows inherit menu bar

Dear All,
I am using oracle Application server 10g with windows server 2003. with oracle 11g database.
When ever I am accessing the application from client machine through browser i am getting the windows inherit menu bar at the top of the working space of the form.
I want to hide that default menu bar from viewing the application users.
Please help.
