Hide Volume als Login Item doesn't work

Hi folks!
When I login into my account on my mac all network volumes appear despite the hide-configuration in login items. Are there any ways to resolve that issue?

Hide function in Login Items doesn't work for iChat and Address Book app.

There is a problem with the hide function for iChat and Address Book application in Login Items. If you go to System Preferences, click on Login Items, add the iChat and Address Book application to the Login Items, activate the hide function for iChat and Address Book application and restart your Mac iChat and Address Book application will start with opening a window. Normally this shouldn't happen if the hide function in Login Items is activated for iChat and Address Book application.

Hi,
Your link refers to changes to 10.6.3 prior release as tested by Developers.
The numbering system tells us that. (Build 10Dxxx).
Therefore it is an Update and not an Upgrade, therefore no-one is going to get charged.
If the article is the so called Release Notes then they mention nothing about correcting any issue with Login Items Hiding.
If you think an issue is being missed there is a place to report that, from this icon view list http://www.apple.com/feedback/ which includes Hardware and Software.
I personally have not tested Login Items Hiding as I tend to think there is no point in having an App open if it not on the Desktop.
As Kappy pointed out there was little progress on a similar issue with Leopard.
This could be interpreted that Apple feel that the issue does not effect enough people or that other issues are more important.
As anyone and everyone can report Issues and contribute their ideas to the OS and it's improvement via the Feedback links it would seem to be a question of enough people bringing it to Apple's Attention.
I would tend to work on Issues that stopped an App functioning first, linked with integration with the OS and any changes to the major parts of it such as a Quicktime.
Lesser issues that maybe more cosmetic in appearance would tend to fall down my list of things to do.
Presumably Apple have a grading system on such things that may not fit with either of our views.
As Apple don't reveal any details about the OS Updates or even Upgrades then anything any of us think we interpret as a pattern is just that - an interpretation.
Consequently anything we say on the subject is then likely to be seen as speculation under the Terms of Use of these Boards.

OSX 10.9 Mavericks is there any way to hide servers which always appear in finder after login (hide login items doesn't work as stardered)

(Hide does not apply to servers, which always appear in the finder after login), does anyone know any work around that can maybe solve this or point me in the direction where I can find one.

Why don't network volume mounts (login items) configured in Profile Manager show up

Using Lion server and Lion clients. Bound both the server and client to Active Directory and successfully got Profile Manager up and running. All I really need from Profile Manager is the ability to mount network volumes so when the user logs in it mounts their home directory. Please note we do not specify any home directory paths in AD. I can login with my AD accounts on the Lion client and get other Profile Manager settings to work, however when I try and mount a network volume via login items nothing happens. I am using SMB for this. If I try to manually connect to the same path via Go -> Connect To Server it works fine. For a simple test I even created a folder on one of my Windows servers D drive and shared it and within profile manager configured it as SMB://server/share and still nothing. I tried setting it in the Dock section as well which I read in another post somewhere but all I get is a question mark. I have tried all variations of server name, FQDN, ip address, etc. I know it's not permissions since it works when I try it manually so am really at a loss here. Is there any way to log what happens at login to see if it's even trying to mount the volume? I do know the client is getting the profile since i can see it in system preferences but it never works. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

What does checking "hide" do in login items?

The list of programs in my Login Items has a checkbox to the left of it that says "hide". What happens if it is checked? I checked it for one program I'd like to not see windows from (it does a "background" task), but on startup it still shows its main window and shows up in the dock. Is that not what this is for?

Thomas is correct about what the Hide parameter does for startup items. But the specific application you are using "Simon" also has the option to automatically hide the Simon Monitor window. With this option set, Simon will display the monitor window until you do anything else. Start an app, click on the desktop, move a window, it doesn't matter, as soon as you do something outside of the Simon monitor window, the window will close.
I find this very useful, since I can see the current results of Simon when the desktop loads, and then have it go away as soon as I start doing some work.

New Plug-in item doesn't work as cascading lov

I have just finished creating a new plug-in that is a searchable select list. I want the LOVs to be cascading. In other words if I have another item on the page I want to be able to specify in my plugin item that the parent LOV is that item. How do I make it work with the cascading LOVs. I am guessing that I have to add some code to my render function but I have no clue what and there are no examples of how to do this. I did find the following in the api documentation but I am not sure how to use it or whether it is what I am looking for

the "apex.widget.initPageItem" will not help you in your case, it's used to register callbacks for $s, $v, show, hide, ... if you have a more advanced item type. You can have a look at the "Star Rating" plug-in which implements several of these callbacks.
For adding cascading LOV support, please have a look at our own select list implementation in /i/javascript/uncompressed/apex_widget_4_0.js
Search for
apex.widget.selectList = function(pSelector, pOptions) {to get a blue print implementation for all the steps you have to add to your widget to add cascading LOV support.

Volume and Power button doesn't work..how do I fix?

My son's volume buttons or the power button doesn't work. Is there something I can do to fix these issues?

Try the following to rule out a software problem.
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Volume in fav folder doesn`t work

A bug I assume, but "volume" seems to be the only effect in my favorite folder which doesn't work after I restart the program (load it up, etc...). It'll give me a circle with line going through basically showing me invalid. It'll work when I take it from the audio bin, it'll work when I put the effect into my favorite bin and then onto the clip, but not after I start up the program afterwards. I'm running CS6 on W7, anyone else having this issue?

Login script doesn't work

Hi,
I use the login user server behavior which is build in
coldfusion 7 as my loginscript. Somehow it doesn't work. If I fill
in the username and password in the form the user is redirected to
the login fail page instead of the login success page.
I don't understand it because it's possible to do a query
into the database with the username and password...

Login/sso doesn't work suddenly

Hello forum,
we have a little problem with our productive PI 7.0. Out of a sudden the login on Repositoy and Directory doesn't work anymore. RWB, ABAP login and SLD work properly. Out admin is on holiday and hopefully hasn't changed anything to our user data... Is there a task or anything which could cause this?
If yes, how to fix it?

HI,
You can do soft restart through tcode SMICM on Abap stack.
Tab --> Administration --> ICM --> J2EE Instance --> Send Soft Shutdown --> With Restart.
It will restart only java stack.

[solved] Volume control in amarok doesn't work anymore

Hi,
since today in amarok (2.4.1) the volume control doesn't work anymore. I can change the level on the switch on the top right but it doesn't change the actual volume.
The volume control in my KDE tray works as usual.

But at logon under the Ukrainian language function doesn't work. At logon under English language function in SOCO works.
How can it be? And why?

either you need to install the Ukrainian language completely (including supplementation) or if you plan to use the translation workbench for mass translation, you need to translate the texts included in the application you use.
Please note: If you plan to use Translation Workbench (SE63) for mass translation, supplementation in that system should be avoided (see e.g. SAP Note 353852) !

Upgraded Norton Security, now automatic login fills doesn't work

This also happened when I was using IE. When I downloaded Firefox the automatic login for individual sites started working again. I have turned it on at Norton 'manage logins', but still doesn't work. Just wondering if Firefox has switch that must be turned on. Thanks

Apple Menu: "Recent Items" doesn't work proper anymore

Hi,
i switched from 10.5.8 to 10.6.4 and recognized that the "recent items" in the Apple Menu doesn't work proper anymore.
While OS X is running everything works fine. When i restart the computer all recent items are cleared.
I want it to behave like it did in 10.5.8, that all recent items where displayed even after a restart.
I recognized that the "open recent" command in applications like TextEdit or Preview behave the same. While the Program is running everything works fine . If I close and restart the app, open recent is cleared.
I tried do adjust it under Appearance in the System Preferences, but if i set all Numbers of recent items to "none" for example and restart the computer it will be set for each (Application, Document, Server) back to 10 again.
Hope someone can tell me a solution because i use "open/ recent Items" alot and it really disturbes my workflow.

thanks..i checked the preferences for the com.apple.recentitems.plist and didn't find one.
It seems like the system doesn't write down which items i loaded. I trashed this .plist earlier because i
saw that hint somewhere else.
i did like you said and created a new user account, tested different apps and documents, restarded and everything was displayed proper in the "recent items" Appel menu and in the "open recent" of every App.
I searched in the test account for the com.apple.recentitems.plist, copied it to the preferences of my account and restarted the computer. In the "recent items" displayed the Items that i used with the test account but after several tests it is clear that the system doesn't write down the recent items when i open my account. The com.apple.recentitems.plist still showes only the items i used with the Test account and the info of the file says that it wasn't touched sinced i copied it from the test to my account.
The Terminal command didn't change anything. The question is why doesn't the system write down wich items and documents i used when i'm in my account?

Two select commands in one item doesn't work?

I've created an item in a region which contains one select sentence which goes like:
select sum(r.amount * price.prices * re.sats * ac.sats)
from registration r, pricetype price, ressoucecostdriver re, activitycostdriver ac

and r.activity_activity_id = 42
and re.ressourcecostdriver_id = 47

to that sentence I need to add the following select sentence as a sum of this one and the previous select sentence
select sum(r.amount * price.prices)
from registration r, pricetype price
where
r.art_art_id = price.art_art_id
and r.activity_activity_id = 22
So what I really need is the sum (sum(r.amount * price.prices) + sum(r.amount * price.prices * re.sats * ac.sats)) so to say, but without the where sentences is the same.
I've tried to "rename" the last select sentence to somthing like
select sum(rr.amount * priceprice.prices) to avoid the where constraints to apply for both of the select sentences, but that doesn't work apparently.
Can anyone help me?

If you look closely at the query I posted for you, I have used WITH statements to encompass each of your two queries, I then (in the last line) perform a simple select from those queries, you could simply add the two values together there if you like.
For example -
