Hide waitcursor during save to file

I have a formt hat has to be run hidden only - there is a save operation that is done for every n seconds and the user cannot see any flicker or wait cursor during this time.
Any help appreciated. Thanks.
The software is NOT intended for any malicious purposes - it actually works with the anti-virus to be installed. It dfoes NOT collect and send reports, neither does it transmit any info over the net. Maybe the wording was quite wrong.
The program runs in the sys tray and is known to the user at any point of time. They only know they are being monitored though.

I have a formt hat has to be run hidden only - there is a save operation that is done for every n seconds and the user cannot see any flicker or wait cursor during this time.
For every n secs, it captures the current window as image and saves it to disk
I dont want the user to see a process going on in the background
- the form where this happens is hidden and is not visible in the taskbar at all, yet the waitcursor appears - coz its a system disk operation.
How to prevent the waitcursor not being shown or is there any other the image can be saved
without the user knowing about it?
Sounds like the classic definition of screen capture malware. What is the aim of this
program? Why are users not supposed to know that it's running on their computers?
Bear in mind that in these forums we strive to avoid providing assistance to activities
which may have malicious intent. If you can't give a reasonable and believable
explanation for why you are doing this, then you may not get much help here.

  • Intel OS 10.5 Illustrator CS5 crash during "save as" file replacement on network volume

I am running a recently reinstalled copy of CS5 on a os 10.5 Intel  Mac pro as part of the CS5 design Premium edition. Every time I try to save over a file on a 10.5 fileserver as a  "save as" to replace an exsisting document on the server, it crashes  Illistrator. Hard. I get the spinning ball and have to force quit the  application. This action tends to cause a volume bit map error on the  hard drive. I have swapped the drive for a new one and the result is the  same so I know it is not a failing hard drive. I have come  accross a similiar issue on the forum and have yanked the pref file  mentioned in the post, but no luck so far. If anyone has an idea, I am  all ears. Thanks.
    Previous thread with simialar issues.

Adobe has always stated that saving to and opening from a networked file server is not supported.
There are litterally thousands of configurations out there and it's not feasible for Adobe to test every single one of them.
If you save the file to a local drive do you have problems?

  • File type changing during "Save As" - Help!

Good Morning!  I have a set of tif files converted from RAW that I'm resizing for an order for a client and every time I do a "Save As", the file gets changes to an extension of $CB, then Adobe and nothing else will recognize it.
    The history;
Converted RAW to Tif in Bridge CS3
Opened in PSCS3 extended - cropped to size - do the Save As, still shows the file as a Tif in file type - reopened the original to make another size and noticed that file I just created is not there.  No, I didn't save the file with the same name, thus Save As.
My normal file naming, I just add a designated letter at the end of my file name to indicate the finished size ie.. legion post 576_001D.tif (D = 8 x 10)  The original file would be    legion post 576_013.tif.  I did this on 3 different computers, using PS 7.01, CS2, CS3 and CS4, all the same results.
Also, I can view the original tif in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer - as I normally am able to, however, this new one comes up with the error and unrecognizable file.
Now I'm wondering did the RAW conversion did something.
Help, I need to get these off to my printing service!
    thanks,
    Jan

    Never mind!  Found the problem!
For some reason, there was a check on the “Hide Extensions for Known file Types”.
I had to Go to Tools – Folder Options – View and uncheck “Hide Extensions for Known file Types”.  Would have never guessed that one!
You know one of those places your always changing things in!!!!! NOT!
    Anyway, it works!

  • Excel encountered errors during save. however excel was able to minimally save your file to C:\...

Error: Excel encountered errors during save. However, Excel was able to minimally save your file to c:\users\*****\appdata\roaming\microsoft\excel\***.xlsb.
Basically, these are multiple macro enabled spreadsheets from one client. It happens with no other clients who also use macros. They are all saved to our network, which has plenty of space. Any of our users that access these files have the same issue.

    Hi
Take following steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Check the Macro and File Blocker settings in the Trust Center.(File>Option>Trust center>Trust center settings)
Then we suggest to perform a clean startup to determine whether background programs are interfering with your Office program.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796
It is recommended that you disable Antivirus application while checking the issue.

  • Infopath submit - how to hide - Save as dialog box - You can only save this file to the current site

    HI,
I have a infopath form. In the submit options, i have used the below:
    submit options -
    sharepoint document library
Data connection - Sharepoint Library Submit
    Doc library - lib location
    File name: concat("User Info - ", ResourceName, "-", PersonalID)
Allow overwrite if file exists is checked.
When I try to save a record, I am getting a popup:
    Save As:
You can only save this file to the current site
    File Name: textbox
    save location: doc lib.
    save, cancel buttons.
How to override this save as option(save as option should not be shown to user), and save the file using the file name mentioned?
    Thanks

Are you clicking "Save" when you're using the form or "Submit"??
You should be using "Submit" and it will ... submit your form to the document library with the file name you specified.
To disable the "Save" button, click on "File" then "Form Options". Under the "Filler Features" area you can uncheck the box beside "Save and Save As". Click OK then re-publish your form.

  • Clicking a file during "save as" changes name to that filename

This is an old peeve about OS X.
Do a save as... on this page. In the save dialog box, make sure you're in a subfolder (navigate into one if necessary). Also make sure you're in icon view or list view. Now assume you don't want to save the page into this folder, but in its parent. So you navigate up a level using command-up arrow or by clicking in the drop-down menu at the top of the dialog box.
Now you are up a level but the selection is the subfolder you were in a moment ago.
If you click "save" you'll be back in the subfolder, which you don't want.
If you click on a different folder, you still can't click "save", or you'll be in that folder.
If you try to "click off" by clicking on a filename, the name of the file you're saving will be replaced by the name of that file.
If you have enough screen space, you can expand the dialog box until there's empty space in the file list, then click there. But this isn't always an option.
You may be able to go up another level, and then down again into the folder you want, which will eliminate the selection, but this is crazy.
What I'd really like to know is, does anyone find the italicized behavior above to be functional? If not, why does Mac OS still do this? (Note, it didn't do this prior to Mac OS X.) And is there a better approach than the ones I've given, to move up a level in the folder hierarchy when doing a save?

Kurt, Steve, thanks for your answers. I think I see the reason for the discrepancy. The behavior doesn't happen when you use the popup menu. It does happen if you use command-up arrow to navigate to the parent folder.
Again, if there aren't too many files in the parent folder, one workaround is to expand the save dialog box...but that requires you to take your hands off the keyboard. A lot of the time, I'm using command-s and would rather not pick up the mouse. And it may not even be an option, if the are a lot of files/folders in the parent folder.
The "foolproof" approach, which can be done entirely at the keyboard, is to do command-up arrow twice, then navigate back down. But this is pretty clumsy and unintuitive.
What bugs me about this isn't the danger of overwriting a file (somehow I've never fallen for that pitfall) but the annoyance of not being able save the file under the name provided, e.g. when saving a web page (or a PDF displayed in Safari) or doing right-click > save as (again, typically on a link to a PDF).
I've never had a need to pick up a name from the Save (As) dialog box. So for me this feature is completely anti-functional, and I really wish there was an option or hack to disable it and let "click off" just remove the folder selection. Even better, if I could remove the folder selection using a (non-kludgy) keyboard approach.

  • Avoid "save scanned file as" during scan to pdf?

i want to scan to pdf but don't want to have to save it if i am just printing to fax.
    thanks,
    scott

I have the same issue. We just upgraded a lot of our users from Adobe Acrobat Std 7 to Adobe Acrobat Std 8. With ver 7, when doing a 'Create a PDF From Scanner', the document gets scanned first then the 'Save Scanned File As' dialog box comes up. Now, the dialog box comes up even before the document gets scanned. If you hit the CANCEL button, it would not let you do anything. This is causing a lot of problems for our users because our Adobe Acrobat is integrated with a Document Management software we do not need this additional step. Is there a way to turn off this feature?

  • Remove save and saveas from file or document of km repository

Is there any facility for that in portal to just see the document or file not save as well as save as to the file
    please help.........

    Hi Mousam,
This is a KM functionality. When you open any document on any of the repository, the document opens on the client.
So it takes and behaves as other standard documents on the client.
I really dont know a way to hide this functionality in KM, if the user has read access.
    Good Luck!!!

When files begin to save the program freezes for up to 30-45 seconds, if we click anywhere during that time a window comes up saying that "Adobe illustrator has crashed" The PC's are fully upgraded, SSD's, 2GB GTI cards, 32GB ram and a big scratch disk for the Adobe Suite.
    What causes this?

I just got this computer in December. I have been using CS5 with no problems at all. Yesterday, I tried to save a very simple file to the desktop and illustrator crashed. It is happening any time I try to save the file to anyplace other than the one file that comes up when I use the "save as" or "save" command. Its happening no matter how small the file is.
I have already removed almost everything from my desktop as one person suggested. I have uninstalled illustrator, run the cleaner program, restarted and re installed illustrator. I have updated illustrator to the current version.
I am using osx yosemite 10.10.2
    I have 16 g of memory.
I have 258G free out of 500G total of storage.
    I am at a loss.
Do you know why it would be crashing?
    Please help.
    Thank you.

  • HT204394 how can i hide sheets in iCloud Numbers file?

I have several files with multiple sheets.  Some of the sheets are old revisions to a specific analysis that I do not want to delete but do not need to see them.  In EXCEL you can hide sheets.  Is there a way to hide sheets in my Numbers files save in the iCloud?

to hide a column... select the column(s) to hide
once you have selected the columns, hover the cursor over any one of the selected column headers.  Once the down arrow appears, click the sown arrow to expose the contextual menu for the column(s).  Select "Hide Selected Columns" (second from the last item)

  • How to Save the files attached in tasks

    hi experts ,
i am using a BPM process, one requirement is to send the files across tasks. i know we have a facility in tasks where we can attach the files and send across, my question is where these files are stored during process and is there any way to access these files after the process ends(for future report generation). can we save these files in database too, so we can have the artifacts related to particular process instance available at our disposal.

    Hello,
In CE 7.2 BPM uses the Enterprise Content Managment (ECM) infrastructure to store documents that are part of a process. ECM can be accessed via API or WebDav (among others). Here's some more information:

  • Illustrator CS5 crashes every time the destination is changed during save & save as

I have a new Macbook Pro Retina with OS X Yosemite, version 10.10.1.
Every time I try to change the destination folder for a file during "Save" or "Save As" in Illustrator CS5 the program crashes & I get an extensive error message. I have tried uninstalling & reinstalling Illustrator 3 times but the issue persists. I have tried installing it both with the original Creative Suite disk I purchased in 2010 and with the download from Adobe's website, and neither made a difference. I have not experienced any problems with the Photoshop or InDesign programs from the same Creative Suite package.
Please advise on how to fix this issue.
