Hide webpage link URL from browser status bar?

Anyone know how to hide webpage link URL from the browser
status bar with Dreamweaver CS4? So that when the mouse cursor
hovers over a link on a webpage, the URL won't be shown in the
browser status bar. This comes in useful for when I put my email as
a link on a webpage but I don't want to let my email address be
known prematurely. I prefer to do this through the Dreamweaver CS4
interface without coding, if possible. What is the easiest way to
hide link URL like this? Thanks.

More than the anal users. Many people use this information to
decide
whether they will click on the link. By hiding it, you remove
that
extremely valuable security information - for example, a link
tells you on
the screen that it is taking you to www.wachovia.com, but the
status bar
link tells you it's taking you to
www.iamahackersiteandwilldrinkyourmilkshake.cn
I don't think you want to remove that from your site, unless,
of course, you
are the webmaster for
'iamahackersiteandwilldrinkyourmilkshake.cn....

Can not copy a URL from the address bar/line

Why is it proving so difficult for me to copy a URL from the address bar using Safari? When I click on the link I want to copy, it does not highlight. I have used Command L and Command C, and that works but there has to be a simpler way. I also read that if I click the address bar once, then press the control key and click on it again that a menu would appear with cut, paste, copy. That does happen, but all options are greyed out, and not selectable. Another google search resulted in someone saying there was a button or arrow to click on and that this tool would copy the URL.

Click the icon (favicon) to the left of the URL.
That will select the entire URL.
Command C will copy the URL.

Access to Browser status bar

My browser shows 'Transfering data from <mywebsite>...'
even when it should be displaying Done. Is there a way to update
the browser status bar to display Done manually, or is my gateway
not doing the proper thing to have the browser set it?

How to hide column link URL on status bar?

I have IR wit one column link target to URL, and it uses
javascript:my_function(#COLUMN_VALUE#)as URL, that is, calls some function and passes the value of that column to the function;
everything works fine;
but when I place a cursor over the link, bottom line of IE9 browser (is it called a 'status bar'?) clearly shows:
'javascript:my_function(<actual value>)'
Is there any way to prevent it from showing function name and parameter value?
I tried
onmouseover="window.status='';"but it does not work

Don't name the function in your link and hide the code in a dynamic action. See this example:

Hide firefox from Windows status bar

i'm running Windows 7.
when i minimize firefox i would like it to not appear on the Windows 7 status bar but in the "hidden icon" box area.
is this possible or is this a request for the future?

Open url from top navigation bar in work area

Hi.
I added in top navigation bar one link (component CRMCMP_HDR_STD, view MESSAGE). How i would like to show content of that url in workarea of web ui window.
I know that I can call url with href, but the problem is that this url content is then shown in that top navigation bar which is very small. I also know how to show that content in new window.
But as I said Iwant to show it in workarea window. Like for example if you click on Personalization link in navigation bar.
I checked how this Personalization call works in standard but it is somewhove hardcoded.
Any ideas? Help will be appreciated.

I would have even bettter requirement. I developed Z component. And I want to call this Z component from navigation bar link (component CRMCMP_HDR_STD, view MESSAGE).
But as I said, I don't want to open that Z compoennt instead of CRMCMP_HDR_STD component in top bar, but in workarea. The requirement is similar as when you would click on any option in left navigation bar, which then opens component in workarea. But I don't want to launch my Z component from left navigation bar (which I know how to use), but from top navigation bar.
Help appreciated.

How do I un-hide the FULL url in the address bar?

I WANT to be able to see ALL of the URL and address in the address bar! You changed it so the address is hidden or darkened without any option to see it clearly without highlighting it. Making vision impaired people blind to things such as what area of the site they are on and https:// vs http:// This is annoying and wrong. How do I change it back without a retro back to FF 3.6?

The protocol (http://) has been removed from the URL in the location bar for http:// pages only. https:// pages will still have the protocol. There's also a known bug where if you copy the URL after selecting it from the awesome bar dropdown (but before loading the page), it won't include the http:// part. The masked fox icon is missing from my status bar. How can I get it back?

if people out there has the new FF4 then you might not see the masked fox on bottom left corner. it took me a few minutes to figure it out but i found it. ok if you dont have the status bar on bottom showing 1st thing to do is:
1st--go up top click tab called VIEW
2nd-- click toolbars
3rd-- click add-on bar
then once thats done look at the bottom & u should see a black bar on bottom left. well i was stumped also when i saw this then i then looked right then i saw the fox there. but another way to find the fox (annoying way) is to go up top click tools then personas. but i like the fox & find it much easier. glad i found it again.

Automator's Link URLs from Webpages not finding links

There are clearly <a href='s in the page I'm looking at but Automator's action simply will not return them.
Is this a common problem?

Yes you are correct, it's the space character—not the apostrophe. The trouble is that the source of your web page does not contain an escaped %20, it has merely printed literal space characters in the link tag. While Safari managed to interpret this correctly and convert the spaces to %20, Automator did not. As a test I made an html file containing:
<a href="red blue">green</a>
and Automator returned:
{"file:///Volumes/hd2/test/red"}
There may be a very long way around this bug. I'll think about it.

CAD grab part of URL from browser.

Call comes in and generates a pop in the build in browser and it turns out that it's the wrong case, so the agent browses to the correct case. How can I update the call data with the correct case number.
I'm hoping to be able to grab the new case number from the URL or from the webpage, but running into issues using the default CAD actions, anyone?

How to rid/hide or ? URL hypertext browser langage when sufing the net??

Is there a way with ver 4.5 (Pearl 8130) of hiding or shutting off the hypertext browser language when one just 'surf's the net' with the phone? It seems one has to go thru a myriad of this in-depth URL stuff just to read over topics, items of interest and etc. I am not talking about the "clickable URL links." All help appreciated.

Retreiving URL from Browser!!

I am wondering is there a way to create an application in Java that shall run in the background and if a user browse through Internet, it shall read the URL typed by the user and then do other things with it, for instance display the address in a command window output?

I think it would be better for me to rephrase my question.
The application should not necessarily be looking for the key strokes. In my opinion the retrieval will have to be on socket level e.g http the most used application protocol uses TCP, now if somehow we can retrieve the source address from a TCP socket then we can get the address which is being questioned by the user. Otherwise, it has to be on IP level using the raw sockets for which one ll have to develop the whole packet sniffer type of application which i think is not the convinient way.
The multiple browser windows opened by a user can be handled by threading may be and looking for each new socket and then displaying only the most recent one. Other applications like ftp (using UDP) can be handled by UDP sockets.
Net.medic is a diagnostics tool which displays the web address on its GUI as soon as the user enters it in the browser.

Get a community link / url from a communityID

I am building a custom navigation and I am trying to create a link to a community. If I have the community id is there anyway to get the corresponding link to the community from an api call or query the community to get the full URL?

Yes. However, there are at least four different ways of doing it. It all depends on what suits your needs.
The simplest way would be to emit it using pt:openerLink tag with ClassID=512 and Mode=2 (see PT Enterprise Web Development Guide for more info).
Another way would be to use the OpenerAS:

You could also use ASCompoundList, add a single entry and then use it to get the URL:
