Contact the University's IT dept, they may be able to set something up on the network to allow the ATV to connect without the need for a user name/password.

  • JMS Adapter (for DI) does not allow passing username and password to JMS connection

    Post Author: PLed76
    CA Forum: Data Integration
JMS Adapter (for DI) does not allow passing username and password to JMS connection. It has those fields only for MSMQ. Our Production environment does not allow us to connect to JMS (we use Tibco EMS) anonymously, so it prevents us from use of Data Integrator. Is there any way to pass those params, or obtain the correct version of JMS Adapter, or obtain source codes of the JMS Adapter so we can correct them ourselves (we can send you the corrected sources back) ? Thanks in advance for any help. (PL)ed76 Renaissance Capital

  • Getting username and password with https connection

I have a webservice that will authenticate the user to run a http://localhost:8080/soap/services/myService, I would like to call this in a form when a user clicks a button.  So I require HTTP/s authentication on the SOAP service, and this brings up a prompt:
    Connection at http://localhost:8080/soap/services/myService requires authentication:
               Username:
               Password:
Now on myService, I want to verify the username and password they have entered in that security prompt within my orchestration.  How can I retrieve the username/password from the Acrobat security prompt?
If I need to clarify, please just let me know.
    Thanks,
    Alex

    Hi Paul,
That's sort of what I assumed was happening, but I'm not actually wanting to authenticate for the webservice call it seems.  I'm wanting to capture their username/password via acrobat prompt then push it along to the soap service.  So I guess via script I would want to do:
    1. prompt the user for username/password via acro-prompt (not sure how to do this)
    2. capture their input in variables (again not sure from acro-prompt)
    3. set up soap message (I can do)
    4. send data ("")
    5. receive data on LC side and use the user/password to authenticate in a database table I created ("")
    6. modify a field based on authentication allowed/denied ("")
It doesn't necessarily have to be an actual authentication box, but I just want a username/password prompt so I can get those values.
    Thanks,
    Alex

  • Get DB Username and password from current connection

    Hi folks,
I'm presuming this is something absurdly simple, i therefore offer my apologies in advance. my requirement is quite different from the very famous dynamic JDBC credentials example.
I'm using Struts on a 10.1.2 implementation. We have numerous Oracle reports that we wish to call from Jdev (through a report server call). To provide the credentials to the Report server I need to provide the DB connection's username, password and SID. This I intend to do in a helper class in my web module.
Is there a plain vanilla simple way of getting this done. I know "context.getApplicationModule().getTransaction().getConnectionMetadata().getUserName()" gives me the Database Username- just like that. Is there a similar way to obtain the password and SID as well. While getTransaction().getConnectionMetadata().getJdbcURL is also quite useful, how "for the life of me" do i get the password of the current DB connection (assuming I have an application module that is already connected). I basically wish to directly use connections from the application module directly without the need to manually specify/hard-code these credentials in my code.
I've searched the forums and haven't been able to get the answer I was looking for (that or I;m searching in the wrong areas). Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
    Cheers

    Hey Timo,
thanks for that. I still have a couple of doubts.
One the nature of the application is slightly different. we use independent usernames and passwords which are stored in the DB (different from DB username and password). The request(for the report-server call) comes only after the user is authenticated. Like you rightly said it's not a good idea to store the password and I'm pretty sure that option is completely ruled out.
My questions is, given that the user already has an application module at hand which would mean he has a valid connection to "a" DB- (once again we have multiple DB scenario), I merely wish to use the information from the Connection that the application module is using to issue the request to the report server call. I take it the call to oracle reports server wouldn't accept a connect string, you necessarily have to provide the DB username/password and SID.
My question now, is there anyway to obtain the password(or merely point my report server to this without requiring to store it) from the application module connection.
I hope my query is clear, please let me know if what i'm saying needs to be clarified or doesn't make sense.

  • Airport Extreme username AND password for wifi connection...

How can I connect to a wireless network that requires both a password AND username with an Airport Extreme?
Some wifi areas in the UK such as BT Openzone homehubs require both a username and password to connect to the network, not just picking a network and add a password.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks!

Thanks, this solved my problem. Network kept demanding username; I guess it's different from the computer ID I use. Whatever, it wasn't easy to find the network listed, but by trial and error, I found it, highlighted it, and pressed delete key. Now the network only asks for password, which I knew, and I'm on. Great advice. But why computer was configured to do that in the first place is why I prefer PC to my wife's inscrutable macbook pro.

  • ORA-01017 invalid username and password on remote connection.

    1. Server: Windows 2003 service Pack 2 64 bit
    2. Oracle 10.2.0.4
I created a new database and setup everything. Database is up running. At second day, I tried to connect this database from a remote client laptop. A normal user connection is working (I changed sqlnet.ora file to SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (NONE)). but I couldn't connect as SYS or SYSTEM users through SQLPLUS or Third party SQL tool. It gave me ORA-01017 error. My steps like:
    C:> set Oracle_sid=mydb
    C:>sqlplus /nolog
    SQL:>conn sys/syspassword as sysdba
    ORA-01017
However, I remotely log on to server machine, do the same steps
    C:> set Oracle_sid=mydb
    C:>sqlplus /nolog
    SQL:>conn sys/syspassword as sysdba
    SQL:> connected
What caused this error from remote client connection. I have done some search to resolve the problem. Some suggest to re-create password file or create OPS$user. I just setup SYS password during database creation. So I don't want to re-create password file. I have another client machine in office that can connect as SYS and SYSTEM users either from server or from SQLPLUS on client machine without problem. So the issue is on my laptop that is connected to database remotely. Please give me some advices. Thanks.

Thanks for all of your advices. I want to say:
    1. I just created this new database yesterday and created SYS password during database creation from another clinet machine in my office. All connections are working. This is why I don't want to change the password at this moment. If I re-create password file, will this affect another client machine in office to connect to DB as sysdba?
    2. From server, I can connect. I used the same sys/syspassword as sysdba. If the password is wrong, I would not be able to connect from server.
    3. When I tried to connect from remote client machine, I do connect with string like: SQL:> conn sys/syspassword@mydb as sysdba. But it didn't work and return ORA-01017 error.
    4. I have other 4 databases on different servers. I can connect from the same remote client machine through SQLPLUS and TOAD with sys as sysdba and system.
    Please advise more. Thanks.

  • Foreign jms connection factory username and password

I have to connect to TIBCO as the foreign JMS. I have created a foreign JMS server and configured JNDI properties including username and password. I configured a connection factory and specified username and password as well. Finally, I configured foreign destination.
In web.xml and corresponding welogic.xml, I am using the resource-ref with Container authentication.
With the above, I always get the following exception.
              javax.jms.JMSSecurityException: Not permitted

The above code works fine under the following circumstances:

              * If I pass the username and password to the connection factory when creating the connection. According to the documentation here (http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/jms/j2ee_components.html#1033768) doing so in an error:(
              Any ideas or suggestions?

Even though I had configured things in the web.xml and weblogic.xml, I didn't use them. So, instead of using global JNDI, I used java:comp/env JNDI. Once, I used the correct JNDI, the connection is working... I will continue to do further testing.

  • Hiding Username and Password in Web Report URL

    Hi there,
I am calling a report from my webforms using the WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT built-in. The problem is that when using this, when the report or the parameter form is being displayed on the browser, the username and password is also displayed on the browser's URL bar with other report parameters.
Is there any way to surpress or hide the username and password? Please help as this raises some security issues.

First off make sure your form
logs on using an ON-LOGON trigger
using the logon built in. Inside
a form level ON-LOGON trigger put the
    following code (i.e.)
    logon('username','password@database');
The password and database are concatenated together.
Then you can call reports without
puting the username and password in the
    URL. Here are two examples.
    web.show_document (i.e.)
    web.show_document('URL_HERE','_blank');
    or via a run_product (i.e)
    Run_Product(REPORTS,'admin_req_snapshot',SYNCHRONOUS, RUNTIME, FILESYSTEM,plist,NULL);

  • Trying to pass Login username and password from a non-Oracle Form

I have a form that I am trying to use to pass a login username and password to an Oracle form. The problem is I know Oracle 10g web reports can take login parameters in a URL, but I can't seem to figure out how to encode/hide it and have Oracle read it. I want to be able to hide the username and password (obviously for security) and I also want to be able to pass special characters... does anyone have suggestions? It seems even in Oracle forms there are some issues passing login info because I have built in parameter forms... I have given myself quite a headache either way! We are trying to upgrade from an old, old version of forms and reports and are trying to use as much orginal code as possible. It all works if I pass plain text user name and password... any help would be sooooo appreciated. By the way on the Oracle side I am still pretty much an infant developer... please talk slow and use simple words... ;-p
    Thanks again for any help!
