Just wondering if there is any way to hid the 16x16 icons that appear beside folder/file names in Finder's Coverflow view? any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,

  • 16x16 icons for awesome wm

    Hi,
I'm looking for decent icons to put into statusbar widgets. I want 16x16 size and simple, pixel looking ones. What do you guys use? I didn't have luck so far to find any that I like.
    Thanks

Ashren wrote:I guess you have seen these then: http://dzen.geekmode.org/dwiki/doku.php … icon-packs
Yea thanks, I have... They are quite ok, but too small. I'd have to scale/redraw them or change width of my statusbar.
I tried looking all over, but couldn't find any good ones. Though I saw some, I can't remember where.

  • Applescript for hiding desktop-icons?

    Hi,
Is there a script for hiding the desktop-icons or moving them (temporarily)
to a map (on my extra harddisc) ,so I have a plain-colored background for working with Logic?
    Ron.

    Hi Chachi,
    Thanks for the script!!
The second time I run it ,it returns to the desktop like it was.Nice work!
When I close (by accident) the computer without returning to the desktop with icons, will it still be possible to return to it the next time I open the computer and I run the script?
And is it not "straining"(?) the computer?
A few days ago I downloaded "Desktop Curtain" .
I made a simple script to run it together with logic.
tell application "Desktop Curtain" to activate
tell application "Logic Pro" to activate
(I didn't need a 'end tell' at the end?)
If I want, it covers the desktop (also the image on my desktop!) with a plain color of my choice.
But it covers only one monitor, and I have two monitors.
Is it possible to make a script to also cover the second monitor?
Maybe with a second Desktop Curtain?
    Greetings. Ron.

  • Hiding Adaptor Icons in insertion pallete

I am creating a TestStand OI in LabVIEW. I was wondering if it is possible to hide the adapter ICONs shown in the insertion pallete?

Thanks Doug. I see that I can hide all but one. Is there a way I can hide the whole row? Since we'll be using custom steps 99.9% of the time which are set to select an adapter (the operator will not have a choice to change the adapter in the custom step) this will be ideal for us that we hide the whole row.
Also I am wondering how this can be done problematically.

  • Hiding  Field/Icon in Bid Inviatation screen.

    Hi ,
In the TCODE - BBP_BID_INV(Process Bid Invitation)  when we click start we get all the available Bid's information in the basic screen which shows
Bid Number, name Type and .... in the last 'Action' section  it will show
    Display, Change and Compare Icons.
I need to know how we can make disable that "Compare Icon" in this screen.
Can any one knows please let me know.
    Thanks.
    Murali

    Murali,
Try creating a Screen variant and using the BADI BBP_SCREENVARIANT.
If you are in SRM 5.0 you can use BBP_UI_CONTROL_BADI method BBP_BID_UI_CTRL

  • Hiding App Icons That Are Currently Running

Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well.
I'm having an issue with a rather stubborn app that is sitting in my Dock.
About 2 months ago I bought myself a Genius Writing Tablet for my Macbook. Sadly, the thing has a really annoying driver app called FKeyHandlerX. It runs automatically on start up and seems to be fused to my dock. Since it is running I can't remove it and if I quit it I am unable to use my tablet. Is there a way to somehow "hide" active icons in the dock?
I would show you a screen shot if someone could give me a tip on how to post one here.

  • Server 2008 R2 64 and hiding application ICONs

    hi there
I just installed Symantec Disk Encryption 10.3 on three Windows 7 64 desktops, it was installed unmanged.
Each user that logs on and gets an automatic popup that says "Do You Want To Enable PGP To Be Available From This Computer" for every user logging on.  Symantec says Managed or Unmanged, there is no Symantec option for that.
Is there a way, either Domain GPO or local Windows7 policy to block that?  Thanks
Or, is there a way with either Domain GPO or local Windows7 policy to block or 'grey out' specific applications or icons?
    Thanks

    Hi b.15101r.14944a,
The GPO can't used for application configuration, you can ask your software vendor for the more help, or if cancle this pop-up start at system boot possible.

  • Hiding dock icon text?

After a short while a Mac user soon knows what each icon on their dock represents and the popup text only serves a purpose to those not familiar with the Mac owners dock. With this in mind, the dock and overall look of the desktop is cleaner if the icon text is removed. Does anyone know a way to do this?
    Thank you.

There must be a way, perhaps using a command via Terminal, it's a small change and should be easy for a developer, if it's possible. I've searched and searched online but found nothing.

  • Displaying File Icons

I'm a seriously frustrated java newbie. Could someone baby-step me through the following?
A: how I would display a file's icon (a picture of a folder or a document next to the name of a file in OSX or windows) in my program (larger than the usualy 16x16 icons... OSX does 128x128)
B: how I would figure that out from java's documentation
I'm still trying to get a grasp on how to use a given object by reading the documentation. I know max/msp and javascript and I learned both by just poking around the documentation for a few days and then looking something up when I need it.
JAVA has stopped that pattern dead in its tracks. I don't want to program in java if I need to take a course to learn every java class individually. honestly I'm kind of sad about it. I thought java was going to be fun, but it seems like a beurocratic mess. I'm hoping I just dont get it yet. Any suggestions?
I'm running 5.0 on osx in xcode 10.4.5 if it matters

    thanks for the reply ChuckBing.
I will definately plug away at the tutorial.
I'm also in a java class, (the teacher doesn't like me pestering him ahead of schedule)
and have my textbook, an ORIELY book and a SAMS book lying around.
I've had some success with the geticon method, but I can't convert it. but only in labels. Being able to suck an icon into an object seems within on my plain of capability.
    I'll keep working. again thanks

  • [SOLVED] Double Icon, xfce4-power-manager - Ideas?

    Hey all,
Recently I've had this little launcher-like icon beside my power manager icon in xfce4.  I can't seem to get rid of it...and when you right-click on it, it's the exact same thing as the xfce4-power-manager icon.  If I try to click the "quit" option, it closes itself and the xfce4-power-manager.  It's like a double-icon for xfce4-power-manager that I can't seem to get rid of.
So far I've tried deleting all of my xfce configs (rm -rf /home/<user>/.config/{xfce4,xfce4-session}) and it still shows up.  I've looked at the .xml files and they look fine.  So...I settled on just hiding the icon(s)...it only shows up as one icon to hide in the notification area preferences.
Any suggestions/ideas on how to get rid of it?  Screenshot provided:

The only other thing I can think of is you either have 2 instances of xfce4-power-manager running, or gnome-power-manager is trying to launch.
Have you previously or are you currently starting gnome services at start up (Settings >> Session and Startup - Advanced tab)? If so, check the Application Autostart tab to see if you have both gnome-power-manager and xfce4-power-manager selected.
Otherwise check to see if more than 1 instance of xfce4-power-manager is running:
    $ ps aux | grep xfce4-power-manager
there should be too lines similar to the following:
    padfoot 2586 0.1 1.2 177036 12500 ? Ssl 16:51 0:03 xfce4-power-manager --restart --sm-client-id 263cc3d4b-0aaa-48ba-9bfe-14697576ae9f
    padfoot 2615 0.0 0.2 16680 2848 ? Ss 16:51 0:00 xfce4-power-manager
Any more than that and you have more than 1 instance.
    Let me know
    Cheers.

  • Windows 7 Taskbar Large Icons

I'm having trouble getting the higher resolution icons to display in the taskbar for built applications.  The low resolution icon displays at the large size.  I have defined multiple icons with the icon editor but Windows is not choosing the higher resolution icon.  Is there a way to force Windows to use the higher resolution icon for display in the taskbar?  Thanks.

Kudos to you, B! Setting the taskbar property to "Always combine, hide labels" did the trick. Now it keeps the correct 32x32 (I'm using 256 colors) icon without switching to the upscaled 16x16 icon. Of course, if I select "Use small icons" it correctly uses the 16x16 icon. (However, I'm sure there's no way to have my installer set this taskbar property, nor should there be. So when I deploy my application, the user is most likely going to not have that option selected as it is not the default, and therefore will see the pixelated up-scaled 16x16 icon. Such is life!)
The shortcut on the desktop is 48x48, which Windows apparently scaled-down my 64x64 icon as I didn't make a 48x48 icon, and it looks fine. (Also, in Windows Explorer the icons are correct in all views.) So Windows 7 seems to up-scale or down-scale icons with little rhyme or reason!
Thanks for confirming what I saw, that the selected icon size when doing the build did not have any effect. It's just for viewing the icon. However, I thought it should because when I changed my project file then showed the * indicating that a change was made and the file needs to be saved. Even though I saved it, then next time I re-opepned the project file, it still showed the 16x16 icon selected. So that isn't saved. I experimented and found that not changing anything but clicking OK in that dialog box, makes the project file think it was changed, which resulted in the * being displayed. This was a red herring.
Do you have any idea what ssk meant when he said, "I had my default icon set to 16x16 in the build description. Changing it to a larger version cured the fuzzy icon!"?
    (FYI, I'm using LabView V. 8.5.)
    Thanks,
    Ed

  • Game icon

hi all, i recently downloaded a free app and the icon didn't show up on the home screen. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please use this method to determine if the app actually is installed or not:
KB10040 How to view or remove installed applications on a BlackBerry smartphone
If it is installed, then search for the icon within all homescreen folders and subfolders. Be sure you have "show all" active as you search. Also be sure you are not running a custom theme as that may well be hiding the icon from you.
    Good luck!

  • Droid 3 - Deleting pre-installed apps and icons

I picked up my Droid 3 yesterday and when you open all apps there are many apps/icons that I will never use and I would like to delete them but I can't figure out how to do this.  I clicked on one (Blockbuster) and it told me I would be taken to the market to d/l the app.  I don't want the app and it won't let me delete the icon.  Is there anyway to get rid of these unwanted items.  I'd also like to get rid of all the VCast stuff as all it's doing is using up my internal memory.  Thank you for your assistance.

The only Android phone that has this functionality, on ANY carrier, without voiding your warranty, is the Evo 3D.
The best you're going to get is hiding the icons via a third-party launcher such as ADW.
