Hi All,
I have created a folder in the Portal Catalog and under which i have created various portal objects. there are few more users who are also actively developing portal objects. what i require is i want to hide my folder such that other users cannot view it.
i do have the "System Administration" role assigned to me.
kindly let me the know the step by step procedure to achieve this.
Regards,
Kavitha

Hi Michael,
May i know the exact meaning for your sentence "<b><i>Remove any entries which don't match your requirements</i></b>"
when i right click the folder and Open Permissions, i find "Assign New Permissions" and below that "Assigned Permissions". in the Assigned Permissions i have got super_admin_role being assigned and i dont find any other entries.
Kindly help me out.

Kavitha

  • Accessing files stored in a folder on portal through application

    Hi
I have to access the files that are stored in the folder in "irj" folder on portal, through one link.
    the path i gave is:
    <a href= "http://myserver:12345/irj/<folder name>/<file name>">
but it is not taking this path and gives the error that requested resource not found.
Can anybody please help in this regard, whether this way is correct or have to specify the path in some other format.
    Thanks & regards,
    Anupreet

    Hi,
as Dieter stated implicitely, irj/root on the file system is the "root" folder when calling .../irj via http. There is no access to the irj folder by default.
On NW04, the mapped folder in fact is ...\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root (so there are two irj folders, the second counts).
    Hope it helps

  • Why can I create a new folder in the catalog but it only shows up in windows not the catalog

Why can I create a new folder in the catalog but it only shows up in windows not the catalog

Not sure I understand the question but it could be because you meant to say "can't" somewhere in the sentence.  anyway, just guessing here:
    Try going to:
    File >> Watch folders
Now you can Add new folders here that you see them in Windows.  The word ADD is a button to browse for the folders and hopefully this will solve the problem you are having.

  • How to save PDF form to a KM Folder in Portal

    Folks,
I have a requirement to save ADOBE Form to KM folder in portal and again access that form for changes.
    Thanks,
    Manish

    Hi Manish
just a bit of rather high-level input: What you want is possible from a technology point of view, i.e. NetWeaver provides you with all the tools you need, but essentially you need to build an application that does all the things you want from scratch.
Interactive Forms has no standard persistence mechanism for the generated PDF forms, as the way such PDFs are handled differ from app to app, from customer to customer, and NW isn't able to accommodate all wishes. Some of the SAP applications provide mechanisms sich as storing files in KM or Records Mgmt, but this is limited.
You will need an application that
    - generates the PDF
    - assigns the PDF to a KM folder (after editing?)
    - allows the retrieval of the PDF from KM and editing
    - presumably, at some point send the data entered in the PDF back to the database (before archiving the PDF permanently?)
So the forms aspect is only one of the important ones, developing on top of KM the other.
    Best regards,
    Markus Meisl

  • How do you move one (1) Photo Folder from one Catalog to another Catalog in Lightroom 5?

I want to move one (1) Photo Folder from one Catalog to another Catalog in Lightroom 5 and my laptop (no external hard drive involved).  I have already started the editing process in Catalog #1, but due to the size of the Catalog #1, I want to move the current job and future work to a new Catalog.
Currently the backup feature takes an hour to complete. There are also significant delays during large image edits.    So I am thinking, that by moving over to a smaller Catalog, Lightroom will work faster.

Hello ... and thanks for  your response.   But I have discovered a couple problems.  And I am sure it is "operator error"
I used your method #1.  The first window that popped up stated that it was making a temporary copy of the catalog.  This took about 20 minutes.
Next, the window showed thumbnail photos on the right and a list of folders in my catalog on the left. The catalog contains folders stored on my LapTop, as well as my external hard drive.
There appeared to be a distinctive difference between those photo folders stored on the external hard drive and those on my LapTop.   The folders on the external drive were named as I have all my folders named: Date_CustomName.  The folders stored on my LapTop were named as: Lightroom_5 Backup_Date_CustomName or some such combination and my memory is foggy on the actual use of underscore, slash marks, dashes, etc.
I searched the list closely, and the Folders without a reference to "Lightroom Backup" were not showing.
So as a test, I "added" to the new Catalog one folder from the external hard drive and two from the LapTop.   After the transfer, the new Catalog had accurately named my external hard drive and the folder within in and the photos and their edits transferred accurately.   The other two folders were not named but listed shown in the library module as grey boxes as images with indications of editing.  But when I clicked on it, there was a notation that popped up that the file could not be found.
    Any ideas?
I am going to create a second new catalog and try your option #2 now.
    Thanks

  • How can I move a folder to another catalog using LR 3

I have imported a large amount of folder into cat#1, but now i have decided to create cat#2. I have tried to move the "folders" and not "catalog" using the following workflow:
1- Opening cat #1, make selection of folder to be moved
2- Go to file and select "Export as a cat".
3- Opened cat #2, go to File and select "Import catalog"
4- Importing window shows the entire list of folders I had imported previously (lots of them). They all are checked. I can see the path, but only see the location of the folders, but I can't read the name of the files. I am able to see the total number on each folder
5- I have not even considering "synchronizing" the folder
Oh another thing, when I go to cat#1 and locate the folder I "exported as a catalog". The folder still shows on cat#1, but I don't see it on cat#2. I guess because I didn't complete the task.
I find it very tedious process trying to locate the file. And this is where I'm stuck
I have searched so many ways to find a workflow that would make sense, but I tend to get nothing but responses about how to move a "catalog". I have been thinking doing the following:
1- Remove the folder from cat#1
2- Open cat#2 and import the same folder, but this again seems to redundant, boring and a lot of clicking. Any suggestions.

Hm... Well, for everyone else the reply link is still on the website, and works fine soo....
Tell me about it. I went to catalog #2 and I didn't see the exported
catalog. Then I went back to catalog #1 and I still can see the entire
folder that I had selected to Export. I double checked it the process and it
seemed ok, but apparently there's something missing to complete the export
You seem under the impression that exporting as a catalog removes the images from the first catalog.  This is not true.  As I said earlier, it makes a copy for you.  So of course, when you go back into catalog1, all of your images/collections/etc, are still there.  As they should be.
So, you say you didn't see anything in your exported catalog?  Are  you sure you are opening the same catalog you just exported, or  have you opened a new blank one that you created, accidentally or not?  That would be my guess.
I think you should start over, and very carefully take it one step at a time.
Dj has suggested not using include negatives, and I can see where that might be useful.  However, if you do that, you will end up having images from two different catalogs in the same folder.  This will cause problems if you ever use the "sync folder" option, as it will attempt to load all images in that folder into your current catalog. Which means you could easilly end up with all your images in both catalogs.  Messy.   So to avoid this, use a new place instead.  You can also avoid having to do the "import to catalog" step by exporting the negatives at the same time.  Don't worry about exporting previews, though.
First, find a new place (external disk, whatever) to create a new catalog in.  Do _not_ create the new catalog your self!  Make sure you are sending everything to a new place!
Now, go into catalog1, and select all of the images you want to export.  They have to be selected, or nothing happens, and you'll just get a blank catalog.
Now, export as catalog those images into the new location, and make sure you are copying the negatives too!  Double check before you hit go!
Now, using LR, open that new catalog; you can either double click on the new one, or browse to open it.  Either way.  Verify that your images are in the new place and everything looks good.  You can see in the Folders tab on the left panel to make sure the images are in the right place in the new folder.
At this point, you should have 2 and a half catalogs;  your new catalog with only the images you exported, and the old catalog, with all of your images.
Now, you have a couple of choices.  But before you do either of them, make sure you backup your system, including all of the images in the original catalog.  If you've messed up making the new catalog (you should be able to tell!) then you want to make sure your original catalog can be restored.
Open your original catalog again, and now remove all of the images you exported.  You will need to use the "remove from disk" option, as they will stay in the folders if you don't.  This would cause the above problem with "sync folder", and of course, use double the disk space.
You can obviuosly see why I said to back everything up first;  if you messed up the export by not including the negatives, you could easilly delete your originals, and not have them _anywhere_, in which case  you would have to restore from back up and try again.
You now have two separate catalogs.
Remember, backup everything first, and good  luck!
    Cheers!

  • How To Delete a User Folder from the Catalog?

When logged into the Catalog Manager as the Administrator I am not allowed to delete individual user folders, even when the user has been deleted via the 'Manage Presentation Catalog Groups and Users' link in the front end. If the Administrator user cannot do this, who can? I also can't do it if I log into the Catalog Manager as the specific user (and I also can't change the permissions on that users folder, as that user!).
    Any ideas? Thanks.

Your second option doesn't work for me. I've got no ability to drill into the individual user folders or change their permissions. The normal padlock button is not next to any of the user folders except the Administrator folder.
I didn't have the ability to take OBI down so I could try using the Catalog Manager offline, so I deleted the user folders in the file system directly.

  • How to access a specific folder in my catalog which doesn't appear in my library?

Hi, I'm trying to access a folder that I've previously imported and classified in my catalog.
I don't see it in my library module (but I do see it in through my cpu's finder window).
What would be the best way to 'retrieve' them and work with them.
    Thank you.

Most likely, you (accidentally) imported those photos into another folder, that's why you can't see the desired folder in Lightroom.
You can find the name of one of these photos in Finder, and then do a search for it in Lightroom, and then right-click on the photo in Lightroom and select "Go To Folder in Library". Before you do the search, click on All Photoghraphs in the Catalog Panel and turn off all Filters (Ctrl/Cmd-L once or twice)

  • Why won't LR5.7 let me add files in a folder to its catalog?

I accidentally imported files from an SD card into two different folders. Lightroom made me aware of this when I tried to copy them from folder A to the 'correct' folder B, by saying that they were already present in the destination folder.
The stats for folder B show only 10 pictures, not the 277 I tried to copy from foler A. I don't know how to persuade LR to show the 277 files, which it says are in folder B. File explorer confirms that the files are in both folders.
I've tried synchronising Folder B. LR says that it doesn't contain any files that aren't already in my catalog.
Any ideas what is going on and how I can make LR show these photos?
    Thanks in advance,
    Steve

Lightroom is not a file browser. If it thinks the photos are in folder A, you need to tell Lightroom that the photos are really in folder B. This is not a copy or a move. This is a "re-connect".
Here are instructions: Adobe Lightroom - Find moved or missing files and folders

According to our client requirement in ESS portal we need to hide the Date of birth field from Family members/Dependents component in overview screen.
In our development ESS portal we hide the date of birth field and the changes we made are reflecting in Development ESS portal but when we moving the corresponding TR to Test system the Date of birth field is not hided its looks in disable mode as shown in the attachment.
kindly provide me some solution to solve this.

    Hi,
You can hide this in two ways.
    01. you have do the personalization clicking right mouse and hide the filed if you have admin rights, if not ask your portal admini.
    02. if this is an webdynpro application, then via application configuaration or component configuaration, you can hide the element. ask youe webdynpro consultant.

  • Can I merge a JPG and RAW folder in a catalog and keep the edits?

I usually shoot RAW plus JPG and always used to copy all of them into the same folder. That worked fine, but was a little pointless as the JPG was only used as a temporary preview before the RAW was loaded in behind it. For speed of editing at events, I started to split the files in to two separate folders and import both, but tag and do basic edits, crops etc on the JPGs so for 'news' website use, then work on any higher quality client requirements from the RAW. It would be nice if I could later merge the two together so that those basic edits - and ratings etc - were then applied to the RAW files. They have the same names - bar the extensions, of course - having be renamed by LR on import. I tried it on a test shoot, but it just seems to add separate JPG and RAW images to the catalog. Is there a way to have it associate the unedited RAW with the edited JPG?
    Guy

    Cornelia-I wrote:
    Hello Guy gswarbrick,
I am not sure I understand where your current workflow with the JPGs saves you time:
Do you load them into your LR catalog, and do you do the ratings and crops there?
Then for selling on the web you export the JPGs thusly edited from LR?
Do you use a laptop on site/in the field for this?
I am just wondering, where you would actually loose time if your workflow would be the following:
General preparation of your LR set-up:
Define a default develop setting for RAWs that matches your camera's JPG-conversion pretty fine, so that the result would be almost identical without any explicit develop edit.
Define a default export setting for your JPGs to be sold on the web on the day: choose the quality, the size (resizing rules) fit for web, colour space most probably sRGB, ... (no adding to the catalog)
    Workflow during the shooting day:
Only import RAWs, no JPGs at all.  [Do you fear this takes longer than imprting the JPGs?]
Do the quick stuff during the day like you do today on the JPGs, just on the RAWs. Should also be rating/labeling and cropping, nothing more thanks to your prepared default develop settings.
...Compared to any option with ExifTool or the like for the final RAW-work (4.) you would definitely save the time there.
So the question is: would you really loose time during the critical phase on shooting day?
I guess not, provided your default develop settings achieve pretty much your camera's jpg-conversion. You may need to experiment a little there, make these defaults specific to ISO ranges and camera serial number if you shoot with several cameras, but once this prep is done there should be no more substantial delay.
Unless you post the images directly from camera to the web without passing through LR catalog. Or your field laptop would be of very low spec.
Where to start? Let's start with my laptop; it's about the highest spec available, coupled with Sandisk Extreme Pro cards and a high speed card reader. What about my fear that importing the RAWs would take longer than the JPGs? Well, a small, basic JPG is about 500k, the equivalent uncompressed RAW file is 12Mb, so I reckon about 24x as long to import - give or take. Plus the time to render the RAW file, which isn't required for the JPG. And that's assuming I'm not adding default develop settings, which have a small but not insignificant overhead. For that reason, the RAW imports are usually done after the events or during (rare) breaks.
I've arrived at this workflow through 5 years of experimentation. RAW-only simply does not work for these sorts of events. Most of my 'competitors' shoot JPG-only, for that very reason, but I don't want to lose the RAW option for the print work.

  • Missing My Folder after copy catalog

    Hi,
We need to migrate repository and webcat from test to prod. After i copied catalog to the specific folder in BI server and uploaded repository, i am able to see the reports under Shared Folder. But all the reports under My Folder are not shown. Does anyone know why? Thanks.

    Hi guys,
I had a very similar problem: with Catalog manager we archived all catalog, then we tried to restore the catalog to recover some missing analysis.
In Catalog folder, under users folder i can see my files resotred (both file and .atr), but in Answer i loose "My Folders" for each users! i.e. in left panel i see only "Shared Folders".
In OBIPS log i can read:
"Account inconsistent -- no access to home dir- typically this occurs then a user has been deleted..."
But i haven't delete that user.
I tried also to create a new user, but still don't see "My Folders" for the new user.
Also this post didn't help: http://shivabizint.wordpress.com/2011/08/26/how-to-solve-obiee-11g-authentication-failure/
    Any helps?
