  • IChat LAN-LAN bonjour connection via OSX-Server and Draytek routers ?

    We want to configure a LAN-LAN iChat intranet connection via our OSX-Server and several Draytek 2600 routers. We have static IP-addresses in all local LANs, do LAN-connection via DynDNS and opened the iChat NAT-Ports on every router as described in several posts.
    LAN-LAN connection (e.g. volume mounting and ARD (Apple Remote Desktop)) works fine. We started iChat on every Mac and chatting via .mac accounts also works, but not via Bonjour. The logged-in users are not listed in the iChat bonjour contact list.
    What do we have to configure more ? Starting the iChat service on the OSX-Server ?
    Thanks in advance for help

    Bonjour works without a server but will only work within the same subnet. It's likely your routers are on different subnets and so using Bonjour you would only be able to see contacts on the same subnet.
    If you're not seeing anybody else at all, even those on the same subnet as you, then perhaps your firewall hasn't been opened to the iChat Bonjour ports (TCP, 5297 and 5298). There's also an entry for it in each Mac's Firewall config pane.
    You best bet may be to run an XMPP server. iChat server is an XMPP/Jabber server (using a copy of the pretty old Jabberd 1.4 code), but you might want to consider running the superior OpenFire (http://www.igniterealtime.org/projects/openfire/index.jsp) on your server instead.
    Just create all the users on the server and then enter the relevant details into each copy of iChat.

  • Cannot connect via proxy server

    I need to use a proxy server in order to access university resources from off-campus.  (This is set up in Firefox using Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Settings > Automatic proxy configuration URL.)  I have been doing this for two and a half years with no problems, but all of a sudden it doesn't work anymore.  I have made no recent changes to my computer (Windows XP laptop) or browser settings.  I get a connection has timed out / the server is taking too long to respond error message whenever I try to access a website via the university proxy server.  This is only an issue for websites that require the proxy, such as databases that the university library subscribed to.  I can access all public websites as usual.
    I have tried Internet Explorer and get the same problem.  If I disable the proxy server then my connection does not time out, I just get redirected to the university's "you are off campus and need to enable a proxy server to connect to this resource" page.  University technical support tells me there is nothing wrong with the proxy server and that I am set up properly to use it, and that as far as they can tell the issue is probably with my ISP.
    I am pretty sure this is indeed as Verizon issue, as I took my computer to a coffee shop and was able to access university resources via the proxy server just fine using the free wireless.  I also got out my old laptop, reformatted the hard drive, reinstalled the OS (Windows XP), and had the exact same problem trying to use the proxy server via my home Verizon connection.
    Incidentally, I am also unable to log in to Second Life using my home Verizon connection.  I get an error message saying the server isn't responding.  Again, I had no trouble with this using the coffee shop wireless.
    I have spent about three hours trying to get someone from Verizon to address this problem, but keep being told I need to talk to someone else.  I have now described this problem to ten different Verizon employees but have yet to reach anyone who even seems to know what a proxy server is, much less anyone who can help with this problem.  If anyone out there has any suggestions, I'd much appreciate it.  I cannot do much work from my apartment if I cannot access university resources.

    That Trace suggests there is a firewall at play somewhere blocking ICMP Echo. Since it's timing out past the modem I do have reason to believe that the modem may be up to something. Visit http://192.168.1.1/ and check the Firewall settings. If it's set to Low or High, disable it. If you are prompted for a User/Pass, try the following:
    admin/password
    admin/password1
    admin/admin
    admin/admin1
    Your Verizon Username and Password

  • Update on question for parameters in URL opening a BSP iview

    Hi again gurus.
    I wanted to do an update on this thread: How do you create a URL with parameters for a BSP iview? but choose to do the update as this new question instead.
    Well, in order to open a BSP iview from an external page shown in an Application Integrator iview in our portal AND FILL IN A FIELD, a link of this type is used on the external page:
    http://<server:port>/sap/bc/bsp/sap/z_purchase_req/process.htm?System=ABG_R3_ARD&mnr%3D9780198603641
    If you read the other thread you will see that I couldn't use a link of the following type since it opened up something like the stuff found under "System Administration > Support > SAP Application" and there asked for BSP application and start page!
    http://<server:port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.bwc.BSP?System=ABG_R3_ARD&SAP_TCode=Z_PURCHASE_REQ&STARTPAGE=process.htm
    But the first link works so far as it opens up the correct transaction BUT the parameter won't get into the field. Does anyone know how to "format" the parameter correctly? When you open an iview of Transactional type you can use a URL like this (and it works also with writing parameter into a field):
    http://<server:port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.bwc.Transaction?System=ABG_R3_ARD&SAP_TCode=ZARTS2&SAP_Dynp_Params=S_MATNR-LOW%3D9789146212720
    It's the part ...&SAP_Dynp_Params=... that is of interest here. Should it also be used when working with URLs opening BSP iviews or not? Or should something similar be used instead? The name of the field "mnr" is correct in the BSP URL, at least I think so, I found it in the Web Application Builder under tab "Page Attributes". I have tried both "=" and "%3D" in the URL but neither works.
    Any suggestions about the parameter format for this link or another completely different but working URL format would be extremely appreciated!
    Best regards
    Benny Lange

    the Appintegrator Documentation says you can use something like <User.[AttributeName]>, so <User.email> and <User.company> (not sure about capital letters) should work.
    Hope that helps.

  • Passing values to BSP iview in Portal

    Hello,
    We have a BSP iview created in the portal. We would like to pass a parameter to the end of the url.
    for example:
    name of bsp iview: MDM_VEND_REQ
    start page is:  start.htm
    parameter: ?mode='create'
    The first two are fine as there are place holders to enter that in the BSP iview properties page within the portal.
    i tried entering the parameter in the application parameter property within the bsp iview in the portal. no luck
    any ideas,
    Thanks,
    Sunil

    In "Application Parmeter" enter the value as "<mode>=<create>"

  • BSP session management in Portal

    Hi all,
    I'm not sure if this is a Portal or BSP question...
    I have several BSP Iviews in my portal, and when i'm navigating between the different iview, I'm getting a large number of session of type  "Pluggin HTTP" in SM04 transaction.
    When the users logoff in the portal  some of the sessions aren't close.
    So I have two problems:
    1- when the user is using the portal is there way of closing the bsp session when he moves to another iview?
    2- why aren't all sessions been close?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks for the help.
    Best regards,
    Paulo Ruivo

    Hi Paulo,
    Make sure that your system is configured properly to handle HTTP Protocol.
    I mean if your URL BSP page begins with http, you need to configure your system, within the portal, with http protocol.
    Same remarks are available for HTTPS Protocol.
    <b>Portal view point</b>
    - To configure your system, within the portal go to :
    System Administration -> System Configuration -> System Landscape.
    - Select the System you are using to connect to the backend
    - Edit its property "Was Protocol"
    <b>Backend view point</b>
    Check that all your BSP pages have this property <i>"Unchecked"</i> :
    Properties -> Transfer Options -> Https
    Best regards. Allan.
    Don't forget to reward points, if it helps.

  • Uploading BSP application into the portal

    Hi friends,
       Can anybody please tell me how to upload BSP application into the portal.i.e.,as how the Par file is getting uploaded into the portal.
       I have created one BSP application.Iwant to run this  application into the portal.
    Thanks and regards
    sireesha

    Dear Mr. esukapelli,
    you do not need to upload the BSP application into the portal. The BSP application is an application which runs on the backend system, where it has been created.
    What you need to do is to create a BSP iview in the portal in order to call it on the backend server. In this iview you tell which system it is running on, and the application name. Check out: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/30/1b62799d786445a72ad85acb4fd55b/content.htm for help on how to create it on EP6.0
    Make sure you create a system for the backend system in the portal. If you want Single-Sign-on between the BSP application and the backend, you need to configure SSO as well.
    Best regards,
    Jørgen

  • HTTPS connection from portal to external webserver

    Hi,
    I am looking for a way to open a HTTPS connection from portal server to an external webserver. According to <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e2/71c83edf72e16be10000000a114084/content.htm">SAP</a> the code should look like
    KeyStore keystoreCAs = ...
    SecureConnectionFactory factory = new SecureConnectionFactory(keystoreCAs, null);
    HttpURLConnection con = factory.createURLConnection("https://www.mycompany.com");
    Does not look difficult, <b>but how do I create the keystore object</b>? The keystore object should somehow be connected to the portal server's keystore which manages the certificates of trusted Certificate Authorities.
    Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Martin

    Hi,
    meanwhile I solved the problem by my own. The solution slightly simplified is given below.
    javax.naming.InitialContext ctx = new javax.naming.InitialContext();
    java.lang.Object o = ctx.lookup("keystore");
    com.sap.engine.services.keystore.interfaces.KeystoreManagerWrapper_Stub manager = (com.sap.engine.services.keystore.interfaces.KeystoreManagerWrapper_Stub) o;
    java.security.KeyStore keystoreCAs = manager.getKeystore("TrustedCAs");
    com.sap.security.core.server.https.SecureConnectionFactory factory = new SecureConnectionFactory(keystoreCAs, null);
    java.net.HttpURLConnection con = factory.createURLConnection("https://www.mycompany.com");
    For connecting via a proxy the host name and port number of the proxy have to be set as System properties using "https.proxyHost" and "https.proxyPort".
    java.util.Properties systemSettings = System.getProperties();
              systemSettings.put("proxySet", "true");
              systemSettings.put("https.proxyHost","192.168.0.1") ;
              systemSettings.put("https.proxyPort", "80") ;
    Additionally you have to make sure that the server's certificate is issued by a trusted Certification Authority (Must have an entry in your Keystore "TrustedCAs"). To verify this use the Visual Administrator and view service "Key Storage".
    Regards,
    Martin

  • Regd Logoff URL (.html) - deployed into same portal server

    hi all,
    we've configured spnego. and i want to redirect the logoff url to another some url with logoff.html. i've done this using some other server and it works fine.
    now i want to redirect the logoff url which is deployed in same portal server itself! how do i do it?
    i want http://<portalserver>:<port>/logoff.html - is this possbile please let me kknow if yes!
    tnx, JB

    Have you tried using a URL alias in this case ?? Create a url alias with the name logoff (under web.xml) , create a desktop (in system admin) with a theme and framework page . Create a KM doc iview out of your html file and put it under the framework page  . Make only this iview visible . Configure main_rules file so that when you access http://portalserver.port/irj/portal/logoff it points to the desktop .
    Now in browser when you type http://portalserver.port/irj/portal/logoff you will get the HTML page . I am sure this will work as i have done this before . Try this much , If this works then try placing the link - http://portalserver.port/irj/portal/logoff in config tool and see if that works which i think it should . If your client is too particular about logoff.html then you can try creating an alias with the same name and see if its allowing you to do the same . I am not sure about logoff.html as an alias but as far as my experience goes logoff with the above steps should do the trick .
    Check this help link for more details - http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/6e/8590f1d6d349c9adc34c6a8085189b/frameset.htm .

  • Connect Enterprise Portal to CUA?

    Hello everyone - hope you can clear something up for me. I have searched online, in forums and my documentation but cannot find an answer.
    Is it possible to connect EP 6.0 to CUA in the same manner one would connect child systems to the central system? I have seen conflicting info suggesting it is possible I believe for roles. I have also seen screenshots of a portal with a CUA tab under either System Adminnistration or User Administration.
    I have a DEV and PRD CUA and each are connected to DEV and PRD LDAP servers. I would like to connect my DEV and PRD portals to each CUA. Is this possible? Is this functionality built-in to the portal?
    When the  users are created in LDAP they are automatically created in the portal as well. We run the LDAP synch job to populate CUA with the new users. Between eCATTS and CRMD_UI_ROLE_ASSIGN there is little work to assign roles in the ABAP systems (CRM 2007). However, I have to then manually assign the newly created portal users their roles/groups.
    systems:
    CRM 2007
    EP 6.0
    IBM TIvoli LDAP
    If you have any ideas or knowledge on this subject I would appreciate it!
    Thanks,
    Todd

    >  Any idea of how to actually connect the portal to CUA? For the life of me I cannot figure it out!
    Nope, sorry. I think the trick is to connect the portal to a backend system in such a way that assigning roles in the backend automatically assigns roles in the portal. You can imagine that back end system being part of a CUA. I've seen it working but I am not within reach of that system now.
    Maybe someone else can chip in.
    Otherwise, have a look in the forum.

  • Networking - No Internet - Cannot Connect to the Server

    I have an old Intel Mac Mini running Leopard (10.5.8, I think) and connected to a wifi network created by a Time Capsule connected to a DSL router.  I use the Mini (connected to a widescreen TV) mostly as a media center for Hulu, Netflix, iTunes, and iPhoto.  The wifi network works fine for my laptop and iPhone, etc., but for some time now neither Safari nor Software Update has been able to access the internet from the Mac Mini.  Instead I get a message that 'Safari cannot connect to [the URL] because Safari cannot connect to the server', and a recommendation to check my internet connection and try again.  But I appear to be connected to my wifi network, Network Diagnostics says my internet connection appears to be working normally, and--most important--iTunes DOES connect to the internet to download podcasts etc. without any problems.  I went to Network Preferences > Security > Firewall and found that iTunes was set to allow connections while Safari was set to block them--but authorizing Safari to allow connections didn't fix the problem even after a restart.  (Also, because Software Update doesn't show up in Applications or Utilities, there doesn't seem to be any way to select Software Update under the firewall, which is understandable but also suggests that the problem is elsewhere.)   So I turned the firewall off entirely and restarted but that didn't help either.  Does anyone have any idea what to do?  Thanks.

    Camelot-
    Thanks.  I see it but I don't know what it means:  The pane is set to configure proxies manually (the only other option is to configure using a PAD file).  There nothing checked under 'Select a protocol to configure' and nothing entered in the 'FTP Proxy Server' box.  In the 'Bypass proxy settings for these Hosts and Domains' box there are two entries (separated by commas) for '*.local' and 'nnn.nnn/nn' (with the n's representing numbers).  The 'Use Passive FTP Mode (PASV)' checkbox is checked.  Does anything here sound problematic, or is there anything else I can check?  Also, FYI, iTunes stopped connecting too after I had started downloading small podcasts individually to check the connection after making various changes to the firewall (but restoring the firewall back where it was didn't get iTunes back).  Thanks very much.
