Hiding charges again

I was about to order the FiOS Quantum Gateway on their $99.99 special. Before ordering you can print a sample bill for next month which includes the $9.99 shipping and handling and the first installment for buying the router ($33.33). But I then noticed that the "Taxes, Fees and Other Verizon Charges" increased from 15.87 to 22.12, an 18.9% increase. I called Verizopon and was told I would have to send a letter to St. Petersburg. Our state tax is about 6%, or $5.99 on a 99.99 purchase. What a rip off.

"Taxes, Fees and Other Verizon Charges"  includes a lot more than state sales tax.  On my bill there are 7 different taxes and fees in that category.  Also, depending on your state the communications sales tax rate may be different than the general sales tax rate.  You need to look at the details to see what changed.   Though the sample bill may not include a full breakdown.

  • Is there anything I can do myself to get my ipod touch 4th gen to charge again?

I've had this 4th gen ipod touch for at least a year, maybe 2 years tops, now. It's practically my life line because it almost never leaves my hands/person. I use this every single day, especially to keep in contact with a close friend. My ipod was working and charging fine yesterday. Last night I had taken a shower and it did get wet when I had touched it with my hands still wet. First mistake on my part. I wiped it off with a towel and connected it to my laptop after to synch it. It synched at first but then my computer couldn't find the ipod though it was connected and I didn't think much of it because my computer sometimes doesn't find thigns right away. After, I went to put it to charge before bed and unplugged it after a few minutes. At the time, it was charging somewhat. I don't remember if I had a problem keeping it charging or not. I think it was fine. This morning I went to charge my battery before I head out and it did not charge. At first I thought it was my USB cable because this had happened to me once before and to fix the problem then, I just bought a new USB cable. I tried different ones I had in my house besides my usual one but it didn't charge with any of them. In fact, the ipod only recognized it was connected for maybe a few flickering secs before it would disconnect though it was plugged it. I couldn't get it to keep connection recognition long enough to possibly back up my ipod (because it has not been backed up since 3 days ago). As I said, my ipod is practically my life line so when the battery was depleting after some use and I wasn't getting it to charge no matter what I did, I paid a visit to the Apple store. They had no open reservations for today so I have to wait until tomorrow but they glanced at it real quick after I explained it won't charge or synch and said it looks like possible liquid corrosion. Is there anyway I can attempt to get it to charge again without having to go back to the Apple store? I'd rather not have to go back unless it's my last option. Also, if worse comes to worse and I need to have Apple take care of it for me (with the understanding liquid damage is not in the warranty) what will happen exactly? Will my data be salvaged in anyway or would I have some losses?

You may not be able to get a refund, since the terms of sale for the iTunes Store state that all sales are final. You can contact the iTunes Store, explain the reason for your request, and ask, though:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact.html
It's possible they'll make an exception for you, particularly if the problem was on their end preventing the movie from downloading in a reasonable time.
    Good luck.

  • Can previously bought apps be re-installed without being charged again on my account?

I upgraded my IPad to IOS5, did the back-up and synced files from iTunes back to my IPad. However, just this morning, I noticed that some of my previously installed apps (Talking Animals) weren't saved on the iTunes Library or any other location where it could be found on my iTunes. I checked the apps again on App Store, then I found that I have to install it again. My worries is that, if I re-install it again, my account might be charged again. Can I recover that app without paying twice?

    Yes:

    "I can't re-download Audiobooks I purchased."
    That is true.
" I have tried the purchased queue and re-purchasing but iTunes tells me I will be charged again, "
    True also.
" lastly it is not in my available downloads."
    True again.

    You don't.
You get one download.  It is your responsibility to back up your contents.

  • HELP! When I unplug my charger by mistake and want to plug it back, my mac air (brand new) won't charge again!

    Hello all,
I just bought a new macbook air 11". I started to plug it in when the battery was going down. I usually have the laptop on my lap and sometimes by mistake the charger unplugs itself. When I put it back, my mac does not charge again (no light on the charger and no sign of charge on the menu bar). I thought it could be a sort of security but it is very unconveniant.
    Please help me!
    Thanks a lot

Nothing wrong, no panic. Some general remarks:
    a. the battery will not be charged when over 95% full; a full battery is not charged
    b. it is good for the battery to have it go down to about 50% before recharging, say once a week at least.
    c. never let the battery go down completely, so that it shuts off on its own: that is very bad for a modern smart Li battery.
    d. sometimes the old "battery calibration" procedure is advised, you should not do that.
trick: when you click the little battery icon in the top menu bar, you also see if there is a heavy energy user running.

  • I already purchased on iTunes and I was charged again?

I already paid for app on iTunes and I was charged again when my bank card details changed how I get refund my £4.99?

Apple's policy on sales of digital content is that all sales are final. If however you wish to appeal to Apple, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History.

is to turn off wifi when you do not need it. When I leave the house I turn off wifi, because the majority of the times when my iPhone has got very hot and crashed is when I am away from home. I suspect that if the iPhone is in the vicinity of public wifi (wheather secure or not secure) it will try and connect, even if you have 'automatically join known networks' set to off. This is easy of course if you have an unlimited data contract for your iPhone. I may be wrong, but it is working for me. It makes sense for me because it is another way of reducing the work the processor (and battery) has to do and therefore reduces the chance of overheating.
Having said that, I never had this problem with my iPhone 4. I now have a 4S.
Try it. Hope it works for you.

  • HT1657 The movie I rented didn't downlaod, but I was charged for the rental. How do I get it to download without being charged again?

I rented a movie from itunes, but it didn't download to my ipad. I was charged for the rental. How can I download it without getting charged again?

Try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that film and use the 'Report a Problem' link (iTunes support should reply within, I think, 24 to 48 hours).
Some people have had a problem with the 'report a problem' link (it's been taking people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) - if it does that to you then try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.

  • HT4009 Redownload of In-App Purchase - Charged Again?

I need to redownload an in-app purchase.  When I click the link in the app, it asks me to confirm my purchase for $9.99.  Will I be charged again?  The app is Magic 2013.

Thank you for the reply.  Unfortunately I don't like the answer.  Is there any way to reload without purchasing again?  Seems silly I'd have to pay twice just because my iPad had to get reset.

  • HT201272 Do i get charged again for downloading already purchased songs?

  • Charged again for downloading a second time a film I have already paid for?

Recently main computer crashed. iTunes films purchased not backed up externally. Have iTunes on another authorised computer - to recreate library of films have started to download same films a second time until I found I am being charged again. Is this correct - or how do I get them free as they have already been paid for ?

Sorry, but you can't. Officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased items other than iPhone/iPod touch applications. It's your responsibility to make backup copies in case something goes wrong with your system, as unfortunately it apparently did in your case, and you lose all the information on your hard drive. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places. If your hard drive was erased and you don't have a backup of your purchased items, and don't have them on an iPod, you're probably out of luck and will need to repurchase your films.
If you have your films on an iPod, post back and someone here can help you get them restored. Otherwise you can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service (select the category and subcategory closest to the issue you're reporting and you'll find a button to send e-mail to them) and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis. But don't count on it, particularly since you appear to be accessing an iTunes Store from outside of its country which is a violation of the terms of use.
    Good luck.
