Hiding & Making tracks inactive in AUDITION... i.e. PROTOOLS

I am just learning and starting to work with Audition CC (long time protools user), and loaded some OMF files into Audition (with REF video), and once I pull all my dialog (from the OMF's) to my dialog tracks I want to close/hide and make those original OMF tracks inactive, just like you can in protools (so you don't have a bunch of tracks open that are not in use).  Please tell me this is an option in AUDITION, becuase if it is NOT, this program is virtual useless when it comes to PRO-LEVEL sound designing???  HELP!

Guys, don't get me wrong, I am a huge proponent of moving to an ALL ADOBE workflow.  I have completely made the switch to PremPro (after a long stint with FINAL CUT).  I am completely happy with this change as PP is a better program, utilizing much more updated technology.  I am learning and trying to utilize SpeedGrade with its awesome DIRECT LINK (but it does appear to have some limitations), and I am currently working on a viable workaround to those.  Over the past couple of weeks I have been "cramming" an extensive education on AUDITION (and I LOVE most aspects of it).  I do feature film sound design so it is imparitive that I am working on a "robust" program (and for the most part I am seeing good things with Audition).  But, when I typically work with a team of 4 to 5 different people contributing to the sound design (i.e. guys that are sending me Background sessions, Foley Sessions, dialog editing, Music/Score etc..etc), I have to import tons of tracks that are then analysed and discected in PROTOOLS (using just the parts we deem worthy to "make the final product").  Therefore (once we pull the appropriate parts from those external sessions) I can end up with 40-60 "dead" tracks  inside my MASTER MIX session, and for many reasons I have to be able to hide and make these "dead" tracks INACTIVE!  They will "kill" your session if you do NOT, they are a huge drain on the processors (creaing latency), and they are extremely hard to work around in your edit window (and moving them all to the bottom of the edit window is not a good option).  That was my first thought as a "work-around" in AUDITION.  I appologize for my mis-communication regarding AUDITION being a PRO-LEVEL product, as you have pointed out that it is used in RADIO, but I was specifically referring to feature film "SOUND DESIGN". STEVE G I am not "writing off" AUDITION at all, I want to use it and I am very interested to hear more about your idea of setting tracks to "off-line", I did try closing tracks in my "FILES" window, but once I did the files just disappeared from my session??? I do need the abillity to bring these "dead tracks"  back into the session at various times (i.e. "make active"), so I am a bit confused on this issue.  Any help you can push my way would be very appreciated.  Again, I want to use AUDITION, and will keep working on ways to do so.  But I need a solution to the very fundamental problem of not being able to hide (and make inactive) tracks for the work I do, it is a must for me before I can make the switch.  BTW... I have put in a request for new features to ADOBE.

    Hello All,
    1. I created a SC in SLD (Product -> SU)
    2. Now. while making track, this SC does not appear immediately.
    <u>Question</u>:
Why does this SC take soooo much time to appear? Wat can I configure/setup to make this process faster?
    Please guide.
    Awaiting Reply.

    Hi Ritu,
Once you create a SC make sure that you click on Update CMS button once you login to CMS. This will make CMS read SLD and refresh its cache.

  • 'Created by' column in SM37 contains inactive users - audit issue?

    Hi,
Most of the jobs in sm37 in our systems have been created by staff who had already left. So under the 'created by' column in SM37 we can see jobs running under users who have been locked/deleted. But it's only the 'created by' column. All the 'steps' run under a system user called 'BATCHUSER', that's why the jobs run fine.
Is it a problem to have inactive users under the 'created by' column in SM37? Is it an audit issue? I've thought that as long as the steps run as a system user then it shouldn't be an audit issue but having discussing about it in my team.
Any comments will be very welcome!
    Thank you
    Marcia

    Yes,
This is purely depends on your org understandness, As in system there won't be any issue as long as the jobs run.
In SAP there is no such way to change the owner (Created by) of background job, we only can change the step owner.
If you feel that there will be an issue, my suggestion is to copy the jobs to BATCHUSER and delete all old jobs created by inactive users.

    Hi Payal
Before going to OAZ1, you must have been created an validation in GGB0 under asset accounting->postings...
Since the message you are getting is not an error message, you can go ahead with it.
After passing through this message, where you can assign a specific validation for each asset activity and make that is active and SAVE it.
    Hope this solves your issue.
If not, you should contact the Basis team.

  • How do I adjust the tempo of a drum track inserted in Audition multitrack session?

(Note: for the Audition 101 user)  In a multitrack Audition session, what is the best way to adjust the tempo of an inserted drum track to sync up with the already metronome-established tempo of recorded rhythm tracks (guitars & vocals)?

Time Stretch the clip. Either by trial and error or, if you know the tempo of the inserted track, by calculation.

  • How to Record a Interview with Multi tracks using Adobe Audition CC

    Hi,
I would like to record a Skype Interview call using Adobe Audition CC.
I am able to get Track 1 to reconize my voice, but I can't figure out how to get Track 2 to pick up the other person's voice I am interviewing through the Skype Call. I am using Skype's call recording as a back up, however, I hear the call quality is better if it goes straight into Adutiton.
I am sure it has something to do with the input and output, but just ahve no idea where to start.
Any help would be greatly apprecaited!

  • Hello, can you say to me which tool to use to correct a sound track saturated in audition.

    Hello,
Can you tell me which tool to use to correct a soundtrack saturated in audition.
    thank's

    Hi
With regard to your question, is this an over-recorded audio track that you wish to recover?
You don't give me much to go on, but try this
If it is a single over-modulated track, open it in Edit View, Select all, then
go into edit menu and select convert sample type and select mono or  stereo whichever applies,
then select the bit depth of 32, and make sure the sample rate is correct for the file, e.g. 44.1 etc
    then select OK
Depending on file size it may take a minute or two, but when done, Select the full file by double
clicking on the waveform and then go into effects "Amplitude and Compression" and select
normalise and select show in dB's, Then "Normalise to" and enter - 3dB this means minus
The ensure that the other options are ticked e.g Normalise all channels equally, if it is a stereo
file, and click and select "DC" bias adjust to 0.00%
This should reduce the level, check is sounds ok, and if you are satisfied with it convert the sample
type back to the bit depth and sample rate of the original recording.
If you are not happy with the result, if was very badly distorted, try a lower normalise value of -6dB
Hope this helps, if I haven't understood your problem please add more details
    Cheers

  • Making tracks a stereo pair

I don't think it's possible, but...is there a way to join audio tracks, making all the clips a stereo pair at once -- rather than one at a time?

Which version of the software are you using? It works for me in 3.5, and as far as I know it's always worked that way. Select the clips in the timeline and press Option-L. That should toggle stereo pair on and off. That's assuming there are two tracks for audio for each clip that can be changed into a stereo pair.

  • Hiding video tracks

I'm making a music video. And I have multiple shots of the same sung verse. I've lined up all 10 shots with the music track... so that the lip synching is right. Now I want to cut between the best bits of each shot. How can I preview each shot to decide the best bits? Right now it is only showing the video on the topmost track. Is there a way to hide tracks to show just one video track? In a music sequencing app you'd just 'mute' the track you don't want to 'hear'. Is there something comparable in video – like, 'muting' the track you don't want to 'see'?
    Thanks
    Reuben

The workflow you are describing can be painful to work with. You can disable individual tracks with the green buttons on the left of the timeline, but this will trash your renders. You want to do a multiclip edit.
Using multiclip in FCP is fairly easy, but your computer must be powerful enough to play back multiple streams of video. You combine several clips into a single "multiclip". I set an in point in each "angle" to provide a sync point when I make the multiclip. Use the multiclip editing keyboard layout preset, and you can switch and cut to angles using the numeric keypad. Put the multclip into a sequence and open it into the viewer, and set the sync (the "other" dropdown at the top of the viewer) to "open", which synchronizes playback of the canvas and viewer.
The limitation of multiclip is that each angle may only be comprised of a single clip. If your cameras were starting and stopping, and you have gaps in any of the tracks in the sequence you used to build your sync, you must start a new multiclip at this point.
However, there is a cool workaround for this. You can take your "syncing" sequence, and export each track to a quicktime reference movie. Now you have continuous pieces you can use for your multiclip angles. You may wish to retroactively apply the correct reel name and timecode to these new reference movie clips.
If your system isn't doing well enough with multiclip playback (HDV is hard for multiclip) I have also used what I call the poor editors multiclip: make a version of your sequence in which you manually put your angles 4-up or however-many-up in your frame and export a self-contained movie. I put this on a hidden track in my sequence and match frame it into the viewer, or turn on the sync. This requires manually cutting through the tracks on top to show the ones below, but you can use the multiple view movie to see where you want to cut to.

  • MIDI track in Adobe Audition CS5.5

Hello, I want to ask you, does Audition CS5.5 have MIDI function? I mean: digital piano mode-to create a simple melody.
I know Audition 3 has this function, but I am interested in the CS5.5 version.
    Thanks a lot...

No, I'm afraid it hasn't got MIDI at all - and there's a good chance that it's gone for ever, because it doesn't exactly fit in with the audio for video workflow that Audition is now firmly embracing...
And there are other reasons too - a search of the forum will reveal previous discussions about this. Basically, if you want to do MIDI, do it in AA3.0.1, which still works fine.

  • Its regarding Hiding / Making the specific excel file invisible or hidden

I have used the following VBA code :
    'Workbooks("Budget.xlsm").Windows(1).Visible = False
    'Windows("Budget.xlsm").Visible = False
    Application.Visible = False
The problem with the above code is that it makes all the opened excel file invisible and not the one I required.
Also neither I can work nor I can open any other excel file using those commands.
Could you please help me out on this.

Keep in mind, I don't know your application and I could be on the wrong track.
I made a sample file at the link below, it was made fast, just to see and I can't see your problem.
The workbook as two userform, you can open a new workbook, close the first userform that will open the second userform, work on the second workbook, close the second userform, and I'm out of idea. It works for me. Have a look at the sample file.

  • Field Exits - Making Field Inactive

    Hi Expert,
I am coding a field exit. I would like to make the field inactive depending on some condition. Is it possible to make it inactive using field exits?
    Warm Regards
    Abdullah

    Hi Experts,
    Thanks for your response.
In IW32, I want to make the field USER4, active or inactive depending on some condition. I have found this badi, IWO1_SCREEN_MODIFY. This badi will make the field invisible which is not the result I want. Can anyone suggest some other badi or exit which will let me control.

  • Making tracker mails easier to filter

    Hi,
Any chance of including the thread subject into forum tracker e-mails? That would make OTN forums much easier to track by e-mail, because I could easily skip over the messages that are not interesting and sort them by thread in my e-mail reader. With the current set-up, OTN Discussion Forum "Database - General" has been updated does not say much about what is in the message, so I have to open the message body to see if it contains something of interest to me (and there are quite a lot of messages in that forum daily).

  • Making & tracking multi admin call to FMS

    Hello
I am writing an app that track data/stats on multi FMS servers and that is working fine for my own custom server side functions. What I do is loop thru a list of IP of my FMS servers, call each IP and I also pass the IP to the server side function that get return and I can have my Responder object plug the returning data into an associate arrays (using IP as index) for reporting. Now my problem is when I used the Admin API.
Here I was doing the same thing except I don't know the IP of the respnding FMS and I need to capture the data (into arrays etc). I had tried extending the Responder class so I can plug in the IP of the calling server but so far no good. I guess I need a way to know who is calling back - Any ideas.
    Thanks

I a bit new to AS3 but I am creating ungiue Netconnections for each server(& nsStatus) and I know who is calling what but the response object is where I loss track of things. So i guess you are saying to created a specail class that wraps all of this together including Responer object which will be within (within scope) new NetConnecton class? So to get the IP of server (I can have many) I would 'this.parent.fms_ip' or something like this ? Past stuff has been FMS AS1.5 and client AS2 so learning AS3 the hard way.
    Thanks
