Hiding phone number vs not hiding phone number

I'm really confused with this phone, or maybe it's with my carrier. If I put the phone on always hide my number, I can't use *82 to unblock for one call. If I put it on never block my number or off, I can use *67 to hide my number. I really don't get why *67 works but *82 doesn't.
Any thoughts?

I was waiting for you on your other post!
The codes are dependent on your carrier. But INDEPENDANT of the Blackberry.
If you select the always block my number feature on the BB, it stays in place. The telephone code *82 is for the carrier.
On the opposite end if you put your phone on never block identity, *67 works, because there is no option set on the BB to block your
identity.

Hiding phone number code

I tried *67 and all I got was a sound like a tornado warning. I want to find the list of codes for my phone.

I googled and found this: (posted several years ago, so I don't know how accurate it is today)

Hiding phone number in Notification history

Hi PM Gurus,
I need a simple tip regarding notification history:
When a user make a change in the Notification description it's being showed its user id, the date and also the phone number. I know the phone number come from user profile and we cannot touch on that.
Is there any other way to hide this information (for example via customizing)?

Hi,
I think you are talking about the log line in the notification long text. You can switch off the log line entry through customizing.

Select a notification type then see log line flag.
The log line can be switched off but you can still protect the existing text with no text change flag.
I don't think there is any way to configure the actual information on the log line, it is either on or off.

To my knowledge, I've only seen this for imessage only and not SMS.
The other users would need to have send read receipts enabled on their phone.

I replaced my iPhone with a Galaxy 5 and am not receiving all of my text messages. The sales person told me to remove my phone number from iTunes to stop this from happening. Is that true? What does iTunes have to do with text messages?

Elite plus account online says my phone number is not in the system...

I have been a member for many years, and have pretty much always used the same phone number when accessing the myrewardzone.com and at the store to apply the purchase. However recently, when accessing the mybestbuy website, there is a notice to enter my phone number for verification to check points. When doing so, it says that number is not in the system. I just went a best buy store yesterday and purchased a TV using that number and it went through fine.
Is there anyone who can help with this?

My phone number is not in my phone. I updated it and now when I go to settings and phone there is no phone number

My Number Does Not Show Up On Phone Or In iTunes

This actually occurs on what is now my wife's iphone. It had been mine until I got the 3g one. We got a new sim from AT&T and activated it through itunes for my wife. Everything works, there are no special issues other than what everyone else has seen with the 2.0 software. Her number shows up on caller id on other phones all texts and emails and calls go through with no issue. However her number does not show up anywhere on her phone, not in settings on the phone screen, not on the contacts list and not on itunes either. I remember last year there were some posts regarding this issue but when I was using this phone my number showed up where it was supposed to be so I didn't pay attention to any possible resolutions. I've found a couple of posts that refer to a possible solution involving the sim card. However we went to an AT&T store and two of the guys there who both have iphones said that the sim wouldn't have anything to do with this.
I'm assuming that something didn't transfer over when we did the activation for her but have no idea how to rectify this. I did try a restore from backup but that didn't do anything. On my phone my number shows up in the right places. Even though this isn't a critical or major issue it does annoy me ( more me than my wife! ). Does anyone have any suggestions?

Wanted to post an update for anyone else with this issue. I was advised by someone else to call AT&T customer support and have them resend activation/provisioning to the phone. He said he had the issue and this worked for him. So I called and when I finally got someone I was told that there was nothing they could "resend" to the phone but she got in touch with an Apple iphone support person and after explaining the issue to her she connected me to the Apple rep. I explained everything again to her and she said there were two options - the "restore as new phone" which she did not recommend because of the hassle and length of time involved, or have the activation resent to the phone by AT&T. I told her that I had been told there was nothing to be resent. She told me that was incorrect and then she got back in touch with AT&T support then got back to me and said I would see a text message to power off the phone. When I saw that I was to power off and wait 5 minutes and then power the phone back on. At the time I was actually using the phone that had the issue so she called me back on my phone and after 5 minutes I powered the other phone back up and the number now shows up everywhere it's supposed to. Simple, no muss, no fuss and no restore!!
I thanked her profusely and we both wondered why the first AT&T service person I spoke to did not know that this could be done or did not want to. But she told me the AT&T guys are a little scared of the Apple guys and that they can get things done that we might not be able to. Anyway it is a simple process if you can get them to do it the first time, maybe it's best to go through the Apple people first. The Apple service rep was wonderful and I'm happy!

SIgn in with your Apple ID, the same one you used to access this support forum.
Hopefully, you will see a list of all the devices you registered with your Apple ID, including their serial numbers. Let me know how this works out.
Edit to add: If you enabled "find my imac" on your Pro, you ought to be able to remotely lock it, or even wipe its memory. Click http://www.icloud.com/ sign in with your Apple ID and click the big green "find my iPhone" icon (nevermind the name, it will find all your devices provided they're running Lion or iOS 5).
Then file a police report and nail the b*****d.

Blackberry curve (8300) is adding a 1 to phone number in SMS?? will not send message?

I get an error message saying that I need to resend the message w/ a proper 10 digit number... Which I have in my address book, but then the phone will add an extra 1 to the #, making it 11 characters, and thus not sending messages.... I have looked through both phone and SMS options and have found nothing that helps.. I have turned off the country code in phone options, resent the SMS, and still had the same problem. then I took the area code off and the same thing still happened. Please help b/c I cannot text my gf at the moment????!!!
also, it adds a 1 to only certain phone numbers. i can text almost everybody else just fine, apart from like 3-4 people.

Did you reactivate the phone?
Try restarting the phone by holding down the top/power button and the Home button at the same time until the phone restarts.
Try dialing *228 from the phone and follow the instructions to activate the phone.
Try logging on to your MyVerizon account from a computer and select "Activate Device".
