Hiding purchase history in new app and books stores with IOS6

Up until the recent upgrade to app store and book store and the upgrade of my iPad to IOS6 I could hide purchased apps or books that I had deleted from my iPad. It no longer seems to work - is it still possible and, if so, how?

I tried the suggested solution of hiding the purchased item through iTunes, but it only half worked.
On my iPhone 4S with ios6 I open up iBooks and there are 2 ways to see a list of purchased books.
1. There is a folder called "Purchased Books" in the library, which I cant delete as it's not a user created folder, I guess.
2. If I click on Store, then I can see a list of purchased items.
(sorry if the names of these things arent quite right, I am looking at a German iPhone).
No.2 seems to be a view into my iTunes account and the suggested solution hides the unwanted entry from this list.
No 1 seems to be unique to iBooks and is not changed by the suggested solution. In fact there seems to be no way of affecting anything here. If I select "edit" and mark the unwanted entry, then the "delete" button is not activated. And the swipe to hide doesnt work here either.
If anyone knows how to hide the item from the No 1. list then please let me know

I just received an email receipt from Paypal showing a $12.99 purchase from iTunes. I almost NEVER purchase anything over around five dollars in the app or music store. Since PayPal does not show what this purchase was for, I have not received the receipt from Apple yet, and I cannot find anyway to look up online what this purchase was for....I need help to find out ASAP what this purchase was. Sorry, but iTunes in the Cloud re-downloading of music is (probably due to licensing) only available in the US right now. If you didn't get the music transferred from your iPod to iTunes before the iPod failed, you may be out of luck and have to re-purchase your music. You can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service (select the "Music Purchases" or "Video Purchases" category, as appropriate, then "Lost or Missing Items". You'll find either an "Express Lane" button - just follow the instructions to get to the contact form - or an "Email Us" button) ") and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis. But don't count on it.

I've purchased and downloaded an album from the iTunes store. It has 5 tracks. Tracks 1-4 are all fine. Track 5 is broken - it should have approx 15 minutes of music, but only plays to just under 4 minutes. This happens on my computer and on my iPod. How can I fix this please?
I've tried going to the "Purchased (new)" option in the quick links on the right hand side of the iTunes store. I thought I'd see an option for "Music" on the page it takes me to, but I don't get that option: I only see Apps and Books.
I'm using the computer that I purchased and downloaded the album from. It is authorised for this account.
I'm not aware of interrupting the download yesterday - it all seemed OK to me at the time and I thought it had completed successfully.
The album is Dvořák: Cello Concerto, Zuill Bailey, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra & Jun Markl. It's the last track (In Nature's Realm) that's got the problem.

Unfortunately you can't redownload music in all countries, as you have found.

Please help with "missing" apps and book purchases.

I lost some books on Kindle and some apps I purchased when I updated my iPad for the first time last week I realize now that I should have paid more attention to the warning messages I received while updating, and that some of the purchases I made were not on my device??. I need to find the apps and books and restore them. I looked up my purchase history and they were not there. I think I have multiple accounts and they might be hiding there.

Your Kindle books can be downloaded again in the Kindle App. Launch the Kindle app and tap on Cloud at the bottom. That will show all of your books in the Kindle cloud. Tap on the arrow to download your books again.
If you think that you have multiple Apple ID's, you have to know what they are in order to download the content again from that account. You can sign out of the ID that you using now by going to Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Apple ID. You can tap the ID and sign out, but you still have to know what your other ID is in order to sign into that account and restore your purchases.

I have changed successfully my Apple ID. But when opening iTune with my new Apple ID, I don't see all the apps and books I purchased before changing the Apple ID. I appreciate if someone would let me know why and how can I access to my purchased items again.

If you are referring to an iDevice, sign out of your new Apple ID and sign back in with your old one - they should all be there.

I am trying to re-download some songs I deleted by mistake. I go to purchases and it only shows me options for Apps and Books, no list for Music. How can I get the music list to show up or alternatively how can I re-download the songs?

I messed up and deleted a few songs by mistake. When I go to the "purchases" option it only lists apps and books that have been downloaded, but music is not an option to see what was downloaded previously. Anyone know how I can re-download the songs ?

As long as the apps and ibooks are still available in the store, and you use the same iTunes account as you originally used to buy them, then you should be able to re-download them for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519

UK iTunes store only has Apps and Books on the purchased tab...

UK iTunes store only has Apps and Books on the purchased tab. I've purchased alot of music recently on my iPhone and iPod and when trying to sync I got an error of -1009 so I decided to download from iCloud but it only has Apps and Books no music. Does anyone know what I can do?

Even off the record comments indicate perhaps sometime in 2012 at the earliest.

Yes, I know. Which is why I won't argue over it. As I said I've never had an issue with it when travelling.
And Apparently the purchase is working fine for the OP, its the actual download that gets hung up.
Anyway, If the Purchase is going fine, then its more likely an issue with the internet connection.

You can hide your purchase history, but not from the iOS device itself.

No it isn't. You can hide the purchases in the App Store but you can't delete them. But you must do this in your iTunes account in the iTunes app on a computer. It cannot be done from the phone.

Purchased music does not count against your iCloud storage and you cannot get rid of them in the purchased tab.
What is backed up

Notes: Backup of purchased music is not available in all countries. Backups of purchased movies and TV shows are U.S. only. Previous purchases may not be restored if they are no longer in the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBookstore.

Yes it should be possible deppending on your version of ios on your ipad. In the app store you can go to "purchased" and download any apps you've previously purchased. I'm not sure if this will also work for books or not. Also, if you haved synced your ipad to your computer, itunes will have all your data (books, apps, music etc...) and you can load it all back up.
