Hiding purchased apps on iPhone 4

Hi there,
I've been trying to hide old purchased apps from the history on the appstore on my Iphone, I followed many instructioins from many forums, it should be easy: only swipping is needed until the red hide button comes out, but apparently it doesn't work. I can hide purchased items only using iTunes on the Mac.
Would somebody help me and tell me whether there's something wrong? It should be so easy!

iPhone apps won't run on a Mac. And Mac apps won't run on an iPhone.
The most that you can do is store the iPhone apps in the iTunes content libraries on a Mac for syncing to another iOS device.

Here is the way about how to transfer apps from iPhone to iTunes.
1. Connect your iPhone to the computer and open iTunes.
2. Make sure that iTunes is authorized and you are logged into your account. From the top menu choose Store -> Sign In. To authorize the computer for use with your account select Store -> Authorize This Computer.
3. From the left menu under DEVICES right-click on the name of your iPhone (Windows) or Control-click (Mac) to display the shortcut menu.
4. Choose the Transfer Purchases from iPhone option.
5. If you have any question about this issue. You can also use iPhone Transfer to help you.

Are you trying to transfer apps to Windows 7 to USE them on Windows 7, or to back up your iPhone? iPhone apps will not run on Windows (OR Mac OS X); they only run on the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad.
To back up your iPhone, connect the phone to your computer using the cable that came with the phone and a USB port directly on the computer, not a hub. Do not sync.
Check the account you have on your iPhone by going to Settings/Store. Make sure you are logged in to this same account on your computer, and that the computer is Authorized to this account (check the Store menu).
Go to the File Menu in iTunes and choose "Transfer Purchases".
If you have a problem with any of these steps please let us know exactly what the problem is.

ITunes locks up while transfering purchased apps from iphone 4

I have had various issues with upgrading to itunes 10.5. Now that most problems have been solved I am having trouble transferring purchased apps from iphone to library. The process starts but after a few apps itunes locks up. I have to go to task manager to exit. Task manager confirms itunes is not repsonding. Any help is aprreciated. I am also getting the blank page when opening itunes.

An iPhone backup does not contain any iTunes content. After you restore from backup, you must sync or re-download your iTunes content, to restore it to your device.

Will I be always able to install older versions of my purchased Apps on iPhone 4, forever, even if I do not ever upgrade the IOS? I am using iPhone 4 with IOS 5.1 at present. I want to install my purchases from App Store and not have to worry about saving previous vesions of my apps in iTunes. On your device, check Settings>General>Software Update. Since you are still on iOS 6.x.x, you should have a software update available to you (iOS 7.x.x). Normally, you will see a "Download and Install button with the size of the download being displayed. However, if you see a "Downloaded" with an "Install" button, you have graciously been given a gift by Apple. They have downloaded the iOS 7 update for you automatically which is now using up to 3.1 GB of your memory to sit on the device, even if you DO NOT want to install it. There is also no way to delete it (aside from pressing the Install button).

Purchased app from iPhone won't transfer to iTunes

I purchased an app on my iPhone and now every time I sync, it starts off with:
Transferring purchases from "iPhone", Copying (app)
The progress bar get about 10% and then it moves on to the next task such as installing new apps or syncing contacts. It does this EVERY TIME. I go to File->Transfer Purchases and it says the same thing above, hits 10%, and stops. I never get an error message. The app doesn't show up on my "Applications" in the library nor does it show on the "Applications" tab for manual syncing. I can't re-download the app via iTunes because iTunes doesn't realized I purchased it and wants to charge me again.
My phone is not Jailbroken and I'm running 2.0.2, although I have been getting many 0xE800002E errors lately and have had to sync apps manually for a while and I'm afraid of losing my purchased app should I ever have to do a wipe and restore.

My wife just received an email from Apple Tech Support. Please see excerpt below:

So... she went to download it again from iTunes. At first it didn't recognize that she had already purchased it, but by the confirmation stage it did state that she already purchased it and gave the option to download again at not charge. She went ahead and did this for Texas Hold Em and several other apps that she purchased originally from her phone. All is now in sync on both her iTunes and iPhone.
I'm assuming this is a bug that will probably get corrected in a future release.

How to transfer purchased apps from iPhone to macbook

Hey guys, I'm trying to transfer a couple of apps that I purchased on my iPhone, and I'm trying to get them on my Macbook air without buying them agin. The problem is that I don't know if the method thats been provide for us on apple/support.com is actually working. The method I've been using is plugging my phone up to my macbook and opening iTunes, then going to file> devices> transfer purchases, but nothing seemed to happen. Is there a Specific place or file that the transferred purchases would have been sent to or am I doing it all wrong? P.S the apps that I'm trying to transfer is Garageband, Pages, Numbers, and Key Note.

That method will put the iOS versions of them into the computer's iTunes library. The Mac OS X versions need to be gotten from the Mac App Store.
Mac OS X and iOS are separate architectures.

Syncing removes purchased apps from iPhone

Can anyone tell me how to stop purchased apps just disappearing from my iPhone when I sync with my laptop? Thanks!

Know the frustration. I have authorised iTunes and unticked "Sync Applications" in the iTunes "Applications" tab, but when I try to sync "Photos" on my iPhone I get the warning that the apps on my iPhone will be deleted and replaced with the current iPhone apps in iTunes. Doesn't give me this warning for other categories I've disabled for syncing like music, video, etc.

Unable to Install Purchased Apps on iPhone 5

Apps I have previously purchased are not showing as available to install on my iPhone 5. I have successfully loaded all the apps from my previous phone on to it and they appear to be working okay. But the ones not already on it show I would have to repurchase. These same apps are showing as available to install on my iPad 2 (iPhone apps).
Any thoughts on what I can do to resolve this?

I very much appreciate this suggestion as I had not tried to just do in iTunes. It did work there and I could see previously purchased apps. Hopefully after they work out the bugs in IOS6 some of these quirks will be fixed.

How to find purchased apps - Stolen iPhone and New Computer

I got a new iPhone 3gs, but had a broken laptop at the time. I set up iTunes on the phone and went on holiday. Whilst on holiday, my iPhone was stolen. Now I am back, my laptop is fixed (but had to be completely wiped and so iTunes and apps lost), and I have just received my replacement iPhone.
I have downloaded iTunes, and put in my iTunes login, and was hoping my apps would magically appear, but they don't seem to be anywhere.
I'm worried that because my iPhone was not plugged into my computer after downloading the apps and before losing the phone, I have lost them completely, and some of them were quite pricey and I downloaded loads.
Any advice appreciated, or should I just cut my losses and give up trying and just start again?

I just bought a new iphone5s and want to download an app that I already bought on my Mac. I have tried everything but it simply doesnt show the app in purchased list. The apple ID is the same I used when I bought the application. Anyone who can suggest a solution? Thanks in advance

What is the app? Note that if you purchased an app that runs on the Mac, that exact same app will not run on an iPhone because the Mac and the iPhone have 2 different operating systems. However, there are a number of apps that have both a Mac version and an iPhone version. Many require a separate payment for each version.

Can not sync new purchased apps to iPhone

Dear Friends
For about a month now any new purchases in iTunes on my computer will not sync to my iPhone. In the My Phone > iPhone >Apps window I move the new apps onto the iPhone screens. Then press Apply to sync. It starts to sync and then on the step (3 I think) - determined tracks to sync, the apps disappear from the iPhone window and are not added to the iPhone. I have restored, resetted, restarted, downloaded and reinstalled iTunes etc... several times and still I get the same behaviour. Please does anyone know how I can fix this.

Check Settings>General>Restrictions on your phone to be sure that Installing Apps is set to On. Also, in iTunes on your computer be sure on the Apps tab of your sync settings that you have checked each of the apps that you want to sync to your phone, and that your computer is authorized for the Apple ID(s) used to purchase them in iTunes>Store>Authorize this computer.

Purchased app on iPhone - disappeared when synced with itunes

I purchased an app on my phone a couple weeks ago. Today I synced with iTunes on my PC and the app disappeared from my phone and does not appear in the list of apps in iTunes. "Check for available downloads" in iTunes said that I had no available downloads. The purchase of the app did show up in my purchase history, but that seemed to be the only place.
I was able to get the app back by attempting to purchase it again, at which point iTunes allowed me to download it again for free. However, all of the application data is still gone. And since I synced more than once in this process, the initial iPhone backup (which should have contained all that was lost) has now been overwritten.
This has happened to me several times before, but this is the first time where the application data has been important.
Any ideas as to what went wrong?
Is there any hope for me to recover my application data at this point?
Any way for me to prevent this happening again? (short of never syncing...)

I doubt very much that you can recover the data at this point. The safe way to do things (I found for me at least) is download apps initially via iTunes instead of your phone, then mark them for syncing and do the normal sync. I purchased all of my apps this way and sync several times a week with no problem. I also do all the app updates thru iTunes.
