Hiding Raw Pictures

In iPhoto, how does one hide raw image pictures downloaded from the camera so only jpeg pictures show up in iPhoto. Then how does one open a raw picture from any jpeg picture when needed. In Aperture, I only see jpeg pictures but know the raw are saved for use when needed. This may be a simple setting that I have not discovered yet.

You need to explain this better. I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve.

In Aperture you see your Raws.

Raw support is version specific. There is no way to simply force install a new version of ACR into an older Photoshop. You need to consider upgrading or use the DNG converter.

The support for that camera was added in the very latest release of Lightroom, version 5.7.1. Having downloaded Camera Raw 8.7.1 will have no effect on Lightroom because Lightroom doesn't use the Camera Raw plug-in. You need to make sure you have updated Lightroom to the very latest release in order to have support for that camera.

Long Raw Picture not showing in adf

I have used following servlet to show long raw picture. the problem is in line
Blob blob = rs.getBlob("PLAN_PIC");
The oracle column is Long Raw and in ADF table this column shows as Raw. I have tried to use Raw class but could not identify proper functions. For example I used      Long blob=rs.getLong("PLAN_PIC"); it is ok but then how to get its buffered binary stream because getBinaryStream() does not work for long. I also tried to use to_blob function to convert long raw column to blob but it also gives ora-0932 error. The same table shows picture in oracle form and also Dot Net developer showed the same picture. Kindly help.

Hi I asked a computer engineer to install RAW plug in 8.7.1. on PSE 12 for me, and he couldnt do it either.   I have bought PSE 13 and followed the advise I was given - go to Edit - expert - Help - plugins - RAW - update- and IT WORKS !!!    DW

Hello, I have been experiencing similar problems and followed the suggestion and yes, the raw icon comes up as illustrated but there is nothing there to indicate any further action can be taken. So I am presuming that means it is installed and no further action required?
Here's my problem: I have had no problems getting my pics into my organiser in Elements 12 from either my Nikon D7100 or my Fujifilm X100S - until last week. Suddenly when they are imported all I see is the timer icons but they don't open to let me view them. If I click on one it will open and I can then edit it but it will not save an image onto the grid for me to view so it's really frustrating not being able to view all my photos in order to decide what to edit and compare them.
Here's what action I've taken so far - restarted the computer (endlessly), checked the updates and installed them, checked I have the latest raw plug in (I do) and gone into edit/update thumbnail (doesn't do a thing) - and torn out a fair amount of my hair. So anyone out there experienced this and can give me some advice? Please?

Tried Camera RAW plugin 4.1 (nothing)
Tried DNG got error message not able to convert.
Any suggestions to be able to read my RAW picture in photoshop CS3?

The rebel XS is supported by Camera Raw version 4.6 and newer... Update to that version of camera raw.

Follow the instructions on the readme found on the download pages, and you'll be all set!
Also, I guess that you tried the version 4.1 of the converter. One should always use the latest version.

According to the following, the Sony Alpha A6000 requires camera raw 8.4 which is not compatible with Photoshop Elemenets 11.

Providing your system is not XP, Vista or Mac OS 10.6 or earlier, then you need to upgrade to Photoshop Elements 12 or 13 or use the DNG converter 8.4 or later.

Yes, but you will have to install the Camera Raw 8.5 or later update. Go to Help > Updates to start the update process. You can verify what version of Camera Raw you have installed by going to Help (Win) or Photoshop Elements (Mac) > About Plug-in > Camera Raw.

Why can't i upload raw pictures into photoshop elements 9. it use to let me but not anymore?

I have Photoshop Elements 9 have been using it for a couple of years now and have always been able to upload the jpeg and raw pictures and now it is not allowing me to upload raw.
I have uninstalled and re installed but still not working.

Upload .raw pictures from Adobe Photoshop 9 via iTunes to iPhone doesn't work anymore

some months ago I suddenly weren't able to upload Canon .raw Pictures from PSE 9 via iTunes on my iPhone. Before PSE converted them automatically when uploading to iPhone. I tried to update my PSE (Canon .raw update), but any time I try I receive an error (error while downloading update).
Any ideas? Does it work with a newer version of PSE?

Did you do a restart, then if still not responiding then you need to do a restore through itunes.

That is a new camera and you'll just have to wait and see when support is added. There's never any announcement ahead of time.
In the meantime you can either shoot RAW+JPG and import those, or convert to TIF using DPP and import those to Lightroom.

RAW picture previews loading extremely slow since IOS 8 using the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit

First, sorry for my poor english, I hope you understand my problem.
Device is iPad Air Wi-Fi with IOS 8.
I just realized this issue yesterday. I wanted to import some of my RAW pictures from my Nikon camera's SD card, using the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit. In the Photos app / Import tab, the RAW picture previews show extremely slow. It takes a second to show each photo preview before import. A second for every single picture preview
For example, if you have 500 pictures on your SD card, and you want to import pictures from this card but just some selected, then you need to wait for an overview preview a lot of minutes. On IOS 7 this process was maybe 10 seconds for all of the pictures...

Same problem here. As a professional wedding photographer, sifting through my photos while on the go is the reason for me purchasing the iPad (Retina) 2 years ago, I now have an $800 paperweight after iOS8.x.x. Apple, if you actually read these, please inform your engineers to fix this in the next update or at least provide us with a solution to return to iOS7.x.x. I cannot open the RAW picture in CS2. I realize its a really old version of CS, but I don't want to upgrade if I don't have to. What can I do to open my RAW pictures? I am taking the pictures with a Canon 60D? Please help!! Thanks!!

The 60D requires Camera Raw 6.2 or later which is only compatible with CS5 or later.
Raw support is never added retrospectively to older versions so you'll never be able to open 60D Raw files with CS2.
If upgrading is not an option then your best option is to download the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all 60D Raw files to DNG format then try editing the DNGs in CS2.
