Hiding the locked Grid POV's in HFR

Hello Experts,
I have a HFR report wherein we have two grids and each one is being displayed based on the input for a User point of view provided by the User. e.g. When the user enters "Y" for "Flag" Dimension Grid 1 is being displayed and Grid 2 when the user enters "N". There are many Grid POVs and all the Grid POV's except for one has been locked for both the grids. The unlocked POV's for both the grids are different. e.g. The active Grid POV for Grid 1 is "X" and for Grid 2 is "Y.
How do i hide the locked Grid POV's when i run and view the report in Workspace?
It would be really gr8 if anyone helps me out on this.
Thanks in advance
Ravi B

Hi Ravi,
The dimensions which one dont specify in the grid row/column/pages, are displayed either as Grid POV or User POV.
So instead of locking that dimesion selection in the grid POV, place that dimension in the grid and then hide the corresponding row/column.

Rahul

  • Dynamic header based on the chosen Grid POV

    Hello,
I have two grids Grid1 and Grid2. Both the grids have one editable POV and are different from each other. Either of the grids are being hidden based on a flag being input by the user.
I need to display the dimension name and the member name of the chosen Grid POV in a text box in the header. This needs to dynamically change based on the grid being displayed. e.g. If the Grid POV for Grid1 is "X" and for Grid2 is "Y", I need to display "X" when the grid2 is hidden and "Y" when grid1 is hidden. There is no conditional formatting on text boxes in headers. Is there any other way to do this?
    Thanks,
    Ravi B

    Hi Ravi,
yes you can not apply conditional formatting on text boxes.
But it is possible to put the conditional formatting on the grid cell and then you can pick the text from grid cell into text box.
Hopefully this will solve your problem.

  • Hiding the table grid in Appleworks 6 so they don't print

I created a handy layout grid for my pix and text, now can't get rid of the ugly table borders for printing it out. It surely must be possible...or should I be using something else to create a layout for a page?
I searched on this topic and found some extremely complicated workarounds, also the suggestion of turning off cells in "Options". On my Appleworks, there is no "Options"!
I'm sure this must be possible but its not in Help or obvious in any of the menus.

I created a handy layout grid for my pix and text, now can't get rid of the ugly table borders for printing it out. It surely must be possible ....
I'm sure it probably is, but first you have to make clear how you created your "handy layout grid".
I'm just guessing, from your use of 'cells' and 'Options', that you might have done this in a Spreadsheet. Using that as a page layout tool is, if you'll pardon me, a very Windoze- and Excel-centric way of doing things* but if that's where you are, that's where you are.
Assuming I know what you might actually mean when you say "ugly table borders", you do that at the printing stage itself. Look in the Print dialogue, specifically in the settings scrollwheel menu, and open it up at Appleworks. If you're trying to print a SS file you will see the way to turn off row/col headings and so forth and so on.
*I find it much simpler to simply use Frames to construct & place things as I want.

  • User POV and Grid POV

What is the difference between Grid POV and User POV?

User POV can be changed by the user, grid POV can't.

  • The number of POV to be set exceeds grid POV

    Hi All,

The number of POV to be set exceeds grid POV.
Can you please let me know where i have change the number of POV value?
    Thanks,
    Prathap

    Hi Prathap,
Are you using 11.1.2.1 Smart View? If yes, are you getting this issue while refreshing ??
If that is the case then go with 11.1.2.1.102.

  • Issue with Grid POV

    Hi ,
We have a report where in the GRid pov, we have set 3 dimensions as 'User Point of View" and others locked for a specific member..
We recently migrated from V7 to V11 and we are running into a issue where the lock on the dimensions goes away and all the dimensions are set to 'user Point of view"...Is there a way to fix this?
    For Ex:
I have a dimension called "Scenario" set to 'Actual" and it is locked..
but when I run the report , it brings it up as a User POV...

When you right click on the Grid setup and click "Grid Point of View" does it show "Actual" grayed out?

  • Grid POV disappears during essbase refresh

    Hi all,
The grid pov that we created for our reports disppears when user tries to open the report during Essbase cube refresh.
when try to open FR report during cube refresh (outline build), the grid pov members are set to the parent instead of the members that have been originally selected.
whn we open the same report after essbase cube refresh, Grid pov still shows the parent..so we had to go to report studio and reset the Grid pov.
Is there any way we can handle this.
all reports work fine when run after essbase cube refresh.
    thanks in advance

I am just curious if there is a need to run the report during the refresh. Can't the users wait till the refresh is over? I don't think you need to change the POV member in FR Studio. As far as I know, when I user selects a POV member on Workspace and then logs out, the next time he/she logs in, Workspace remembers the latest selection.
I am not sure if Workspace automatically changes the POV members to their default value (dimension itself) after an Essbase refresh. If it is the case, I know it is annoying but, user might need to select the POV members again. I always try to limit the dimension on POV. I don't the exact term, but I like locking the members down on POV, so the users only have to select limited number of dimension members.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I turn off the Camera access from the lock screen

how do I turn off the Camera access from the lock screen ?

Only by hiding the camera via Restrictions. Settings>General>Restrictions. That hides the camera when unlocked unless you go to Restrictions  and unset that Restriction. That is not way currently from just preventing camera access only from the lock screen

  • Does User POV Supersedes Grid POV in Hyperion - Financial Reporting ver 9.3

In Hyperion Financial Reporting studio , under grid POV , for a perticular dimension we have selected a perticular member from the list.
Now on the User POV, for the same Dimension it is selected as "any member". Now when we open the FR report in PDF from the same user ID, in POV option we are able to view all members. It looks like User POV settings is superseding the grid POV.
Is there any way by which we can select grid POV to take control over user POV? or if it is possible that users will be able to view the report only based on grid POV?
    Regards,

Have you selected any particular member in Grid POV. ? i.e selecting grid POV and doing member selection.
If you select any member in GRID POV then while running the report it will not ask value for that particular member in POV window. i.e it will always consider the by default member while running the report.

  • Dynamic Row Suppression based on grid POV

    Hi,
I need to suppress rows based on the grid POV. The report is set up to have accounts in the rows and the user is able to select a specific account in the grid POV. Based on the grid selection, half of the accounts in the rows either need to be suppressed or not.
One solution already available is to use advanced suppression on each row but this option will take too long. I'd like to find a solution using UDA's or some other way. Any ideas?

Im not sure there is any simple way to get dynamic row selection based on what is selected in the page.
If I were designing the form based on what you have stated, I would probably stick both Account and Year in the page, and the 400 products in rows. This would require the user to select the different combinations of Year / Account, but would mean only 12 columns (instead of 72).
Alternatively you could stick Account in rows too - meaning 800 rows, but less combinations to select in Page....all depends what is deemed acceptable to the user.
Probably other approaches that may be better than above (put Product in the Page for fun!!)
    Thanks

  • Financial Reporting Studio - Grid POV

I have a report running from HFM (9.3.1.3.0.2176) using Financial Reporting Studio (9 9.3.1.0.0.0325) where I have restricted the Grid POV to 'Select members from a list' on Accounts.
When I run the report as an HTML from within Reporting Studio or workspace, a box appears entitled 'Preview user POV' with 'This report/book will run for the members on the user point of view listed below' with a selection box that when clicked only shows the accounts I defined in the list.
However, when the report is run from Workspace (9.1.1.0.0.248) by any other user then the accounts are not restricted.
Can I make the accounts restricted to the list for ONLY this report for all users without impacting any other reports and if so, please can you explain how?
    Thanks in advance
PS I also restricted User POV in the vain hope that it would make a difference but no :-(

Select the grid. You will grid POV checked in right side properties window. Uncheck that.

  • Is there a way to find all the locked files my computer?

I am having trouble importing some files into Aperture and I discovered that one of the reasons might be that some of the files are locked. I know how to unlock them but I'd like to find the locked files and unlock them all at once. Is there a way to do that?

Back up all data before proceeding.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
    sudo find ~ $TMPDIR.. -exec chflags -h nouchg,nouappnd,noschg,nosappnd {} + -exec chown -h $UID {} + -exec chmod +rw {} + -exec chmod -h -N {} + -type d -exec chmod -h +x {} + 2>&-
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take several minutes to run, depending on how many files you have. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
              Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open. In that window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
               ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • Thunderbolt-Display: Screen does not light up randomly after reconnect it to the power grid.

So, I got myself really lucky a few days ago and got a "faulty" Thunderbolt display for ridiculously cheap.
So far it is working perfectly, yet the previous owner told me that the screen stays dark occasionally, although the device is recognized my the Mac.
I could track down the problem somewhat to the fact, that this only happens when you disconnect the Display completely from power grid, forcing it to shut down instead of going into standby. I recognized this after relocating it to my home and plugging it in again. After a few times replugging it, it went to work again and it is totally fine.
Does anybody know what this can be connected to? Damaged inverter? As I said it works flawlessly, but I have it now plugged in constantly anyway. I just seek some more information what could come my way in the future worst case. Considering I expected to get a new panel I'm totally happy.
    Thanks for any help.

To have the screen light up, you need to go into Notifications and set it to be seen in the lock screen. See the User Guide for help with Notifications. http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
