Hiding the workset of a predefined role

Hello Experts,
can you suggest how to hide the workset of any pre-defined role?
for eg. if I have assigned the pre-defined role 'Content Admin' to an user, how can I hide a specific workset of that role?
is there any property for workset to hide or do I have to create a custom role and assign all the worksets that I need?
regards.

Raghava,
If you dont want to create a role, you would end up altering the permissions for role, workset, page etc. What if in the future you have to use the standard role? So, the recommended way is to create a role and assign the worksets you want to view.
Cheers!

    Hi Priyanshu,
"Object manager is not activated" simply means, that the SLD server is not started. So, please, first of all navigate to the SLD URL http://<host>:<httpport>/sld, login with an administrative SLD user -> Admininstration and push the star button.

  • Hiding buttons based up on business role; Is possible by the BASIS?

    Hi Experts,
I have done one enhancement for hiding the buttons according to Business role using coding but it was not possible for all the desired buttons since I couldnu2019t find out relevant internal tables for the buttons.
Now we are planning to do the same activity by the BASIS help.
Are Hiding buttons based up on user or business role can be possible by the BASIS activity like authorization object to handle the drop downs based up on roles .
If possible please suggest me the way out to resolve the issue using any kind of BASIS activity.
    Thanks
    Chand

    Hello,
I do not think that the BASIS can help you in deleting/hiding buttons from the UI. Generally, the buttons are stored in the GT_BUTTON/GT_BUTTONS attribute of the overview view/viewset controller. In some cases it may be hard coded inside the htm page as well in the form of HTML tags.
We'd definitely need to do some programming to achieve the functionality you are looking for, Also remember it is different for different views. You need to find out the view that has the buttons.
Do a F2 on your UI screen to find out the details of the screen.

    Hi Expert,
I found that we can use Interface INavigationHelperService to read Portal Role selected by user at runtime from http://scn.sap.com/thread/52194
But this class is available in SAP NetWeaver 7.30 Enterprise Portal .
But in SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Enterprise Portal that interface is not available.
    INavigationService is available there.
But didn't get any proper discussion on this interface for the same requirement.
    Can you please help me.

  • Want to display the workset as tab in the EP Page

    Hi all
I have been trying to show the Workset created by me as a tab in the EP Page.  As we see "CONTENT ADMINISTRATION", "USER ADMINISTRATION" tabs in the EP page, I want my workset to be displayed as a tab so that I can directly access the workset, the page and the iviews.
Please let me know what settings have to be made to achieve this.
    Thanks,
    Vijay.

    Hi Vijay,
Just to review, can you say exactly what you did to get to the current situation?
What objects did you create (roles, worksets, pages)?
What properties did you set on each?
What roels did you assign to what users/groups?
And can you describe exactly what you do get? Do you see nothing of your roles and worksets, or do you see the roles as the top level but you want the worksets as the top level?
It is a pretty basic task to create a role with a workset with a page, and assign it to a user.
Common mistakes: not assigning entry point to true, not assigning the role to the right user or group.

  • How to rename (com. company ) the portal content folder, iview, role.,

    Hi All,
How can we rename the folder name, folder id, role, workset, page and iview properties to a new company(brand) name?
For example, if we have com.xyz in the folder id prefix, we need to rename as com.abc.
Basically this is required to change the brand name in the each level of the portal package. The end user should not see the old brand name in any of the content including view, url, etc.,
    Please help! Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Senthil

    Hi,
Changing the ID of a PCD object is not like changing an attribute.
As the PCD is a JNDI provider, the name of the object is its unique identifier, and changing it conceptually means deleting it, and creating a new one.
One of the obvious ways to solve the issue in your case is to change the prefix once in each system.
However, in newer versions of the portal (like 7.3 and above), there is an option of change recording, that can be used:
Managing Change Recording in the Portal - Portal - SAP Library
Unlike in older versions where deletions and "change IDs" couldn't be transferred, this feature enables to transfer also such operations on the content.
All the above is correct as long as you are not trying to change content which is provided by SAP.
Content provided by SAP, that starts with the "com.sap." prefix must not be changed.
    Thanks & regards,
    Michal

  • Predefined Roles Missing in Authorization Management Tool

    Hi Guys,
    The Predefined roles
    SAP_AMT_AUTHORIZATION_ADMINISTRATOR
    SAP_AMT_USER_ADMINISTRATOR
    SAP_AMT_ROLE_ADMINISTRATOR
are missing when I logged in to AMT.
I checked the SAP notes and found the note 657434.
It asked me to run the report INSERT_ADDITIONAL_AMT_ROLES_40.
I ran the report in the CRM system using transaction se38.
    and ran the ConnTrans
But even then the roles are not visible in the AMT.
Did I miss any other Steps.

    Hello Zack,
Did you make a manual extract of the subscriptions for the site?
Are some messages coming to the mobile?
If not, try to regenerate the replication object/publication with transaction SMOGGEN and make an extract again.

  • Need something similar to the Workset Map iView

    Hello,
I'm looking for something that is very similar to the workset map iview and was hoping someone could help me out. The problem for me using the workset map iview is that it only pertains to one role. I basically need an entry point that can point to several different items from different roles based upon the roles a current user has. I guess you could say much like a site map but we want it to look like the workset map iview.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    -Tamara

    Hello Shibendra,
What u can do is create KM Navigation Iview and assign that  Iview to Workset and that workset to role.
now place that newely created workset next to the intended one and then see the preview of Worset Map iview .
in that u will see the intended Iview and next to it the Km navigation Iview that u have created  and  after clicking on that iview u will be navigated to the required position in KM
    Hope this works
    If so please reward ponts.
    Regards.
