Hierarchical report to compare simulation version
Hi,
Which are the hierarchical report where simulation version can be compared?
Thx
Hi,
In addition you can directly access from T Codes like CN41, CN41N, CNE5 etc.... Please see that "Version Data" is selected in the DB Profile.

How to compare the simulation version
Dear Experts,
For Operative Projects we can create Simulation Versions (CJV1 / CJV4) & Project Version (CN72).
We can compare different Project Versions with Operative Project (S_ALR_87013539 / 38).
Similarly can we compare Simulation version with Operative Project?
OR can we see plan cost report for simulation version?
Please guide.
RajeshHi,
Simulation versions are not meant for comparison purpose. You can use Project versions for that, which are snapshots of project at that point of time.
Simulation versions can be used to analyse 'what-if' conditions and for quotation ie pre-order analysis. Before receipt of sales order, you can create simulation project and do cost planning for quotation purpose. After receipt of sales order, this project can be made operative. In case of loss of project, you can delete simulation.
Another case can be during execution you want to check "what happens if" kind of conditions. you can transfer operative project to simulation version, simulate reqd condition. If results are desirable, you can copy the simulation version onto current project or alternatively delete simulation.

Have Adobe Captivate 6 (not interested in upgrading)- Struggling to publish a simulation in a format that QMP can pickup - QMP needs a qml file. previous versions had no problem all had tick boxes for QMP in the Quiz - Reporting Settings but this version does not have. If i publish to Flash QMP does not see the file.
Re:
The quiz review button is inconsistent - sometimes it shows the ticks and crosses other times it doesn't - did you find a solution? I'd dearly like to be able to tidy up the ticks!
Thanks

Comparison between Opreative Project & Simulated version
Dear Colleague,
I have one query regarding simulation version, may I know how I will compare operatioe project with any simulation version by using SAP standard reports like CN41N. I already maintained version check box ticked in DB profile. As I know that we can easily compare Project version with operative project but do not know how to compare operative project with simulated version. Please just advice...
Regards,
Ashok SangalHi Ashok,
Simulation versions are compared with operative versions in the same manner in which project versions are compared with operative project. The simulation versions for the project appears in the "Project version" selection. Select the required Simulation version to include it in the results.

Evaluation of simulation versions
Hi Experts
Can i have list of standard reports useful for evaluating simulation versions?
warm regards
ramSivaHi Siva,
If you are interested in the financial analysis of the various versions and the original project, you can use the following reports
S_ALR_87013538
S_ALR_87013539
But if you want to analyse other parameters like dates, new added objects you can use CNS41 with the database profile checked for Version data, and provide your simulation versions and compare them.
The financial report provides you analysis columnwise where as CNS41 provide rowwise analysis which is a disadvantage in CNS41.But the advantage you can analyse most of the parameters in CNS41. -
Hi,
On simulation i have two questions
1. What is the significance of simulation profile. Is it required to be assigned for the project (Through project profile) before carrying out the simulation?
2.I am trying to create simulation version in CJV4 for the project. I have created the simulation profile and assigned it to my project profile. But when i try to create the simulation version i am getting the following error
"When you want to run a report that uses the PSJ logical database, module pools are generated for runtime optimization and memory optimization. This module pool cannot be generated since therew is an error in the logical database. This error can only occur, if the SAPDBPSJ program was changed during the runtime of your prrogram".
Can any body help me in this?
RajeshHi,
Simulation profile is not mandatory. The profile controls what texts get copied from operative project to simulation. If you dont give this profile, all texts get copied into simulation.
I would be able to help if you tell me the error message number. I hope it is not dump. In that case goto ST22 and let me know the details.

Planed costs on Simulation Version
Where can I see the planed costs on Simulation?
I have an escenario where the project is created as Simulation, and after this one is evaluated on duration and costs, the user transfer the simulation to an operative project, but I need to see the planed costs.Hi ,
Go to trnsaction CNS41 Structure Overview report
Press The Push button DB Profile
Tick on Version data in Origin
here u can select the simulation versions for which u want to see the Project info with differentiated colors
by selection of Project planned cost field

Simulation version getting updated from active version
Hi all,
We noticed that in Active Model 000, existing Simulation Versions are getting updated (changed) daily, even though we do not know any job scheduled by us which could do such update. I tried to search for any job running at the time of version change, but could not find through SM37.
Can you guess what could be triggering this change?
Regards,Hi,
You can see the difference in master data between planning versions. Select 2 planning versions with the Ctrl key, select Additional Functions then Master Data Comparison. Run wide open and check the log. Compare 001 and SM1 then 000 and SM2. Just a thought.
I don't think transactional data differences would affect the "Last Changed" field.

Hello Experts,
There is a field called simulated version in the transaction depreciation simulation. How to configure such simulated versions? Kindly explain in detail.
Regards,
P.Krishna Chaitanya.Krishna-
You can go to SPRO -> Financial Accounting -> Asset Accounting -> Information System -> Define Simulation Variants for Depreciation Reports
And here is some help from SAP on the variants:
Define Simulation Variants for Depreciation Reports
In the following step, you define the simulation verstions for depreciation reports. You can enter a simulation version when you start a standard depreciation list. The report is then executed with simulated depreciation terms.
All depreciation lists that allow the use of simulation versions show the simulation version that was used in the page header of the list. You can also request a list of all the replacement rules that were used in the simulation (by pressing F2 = choose). You can also print this list.
Example
You can simulate how depreciation would look if you used declining-balance depreciation instead of straight-line depreciation for your assets.
Standard settings
SAP provides simulation version A1 as an example.
Activities
1. Define your simulation versions.
2. Enter the following for your simulation version:
The depreciation area, for which the simulation takes place
The asset class for the simulation (you can make a generic entry from left to right using the "+" symbol)
The depreciation key for the simulation
A valid-to date. The assets that are included in the simulation must have a capitalization date before this date.
3. Define the following simulation parameters, depending on the purpose of the simulation:
New depreciation key
Change to the useful life as a percentage, for example 80% or 125%
A valid-from date. The assets that are included in the simulation must have a capitalization date after this date. -
What are simulation versions .generally we get simulation version in sapapo/cdpss0
what are simulation versions .generally we get simulation version in sapapo/cdpss0 which can be deleted manually or they can deleted by live cache
which as naming convention Background_204138_13210. and also containing planning version
Thanks& Regards
VirenderHi Virender,
virender sehwag wrote:

SAP Definition:
Using a simulation version, you can run through a planning alternative without changing the data in the planning version. You can test different planning alternatives using different simulation versions.
You can compare the planning status in the planning version with that in the planning version at any time ("refresh"), or import simulative planning in the planning version ("save"). The planning data in the planning or simulation version is not simply copied in this case, but actually merged. "Hard" data "wins", for example, confirmation of an operation is more important than a deadline change.
Yes they can be deleted manually.
They can follow any naming convention, for details about use of simulation versions, you can refer to below sap note.

Thank you for your help on this issue.+OK, I did this once and did not follow the oracle docs
If you saved your targets.xml before you started you might save it by renaming it back.
(Double check to make sure you did not miss a rename)
Otherwise, all I have to offer is my rough notes:
1. Backup the file $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/emd/targets.xml.
[oracle@ias02 emd]$ pwd
/u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/sysman/emd
cp targets.xml targets.xmlbackup
2. Modify the file targets.xml by changing all the occurrences of the wrong reports server name by the correct one.
i.e. Replace rep_test_midtier with rep_new (4 places - changes)
Copy the conf file as follows: ( this will named different from system to system )
cp /u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/reports/conf/rep_pia_oracleas.conf /u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/reports/conf/rep_fam.conf
run this script:
/u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/bin/addNewServerTarget.sh rep_fam (change rep_fam to new report server name)
3.Update the changed configuration .
/u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/dcm/bin/dcmctl updateconfig -ct opmn -v -d
/u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/dcm/bin/dcmctl resyncinstance -v -d
4. Restart the Application Server Control Console
/u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/bin/emctl stop iasconsole
/u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/bin/emctl start iasconsole
In the file:
/u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/reports/config/reportsConfig.properties
Change the Reports_Server_Name setting from rep_test_midtier to rep_fam (change rep_fam to new report server name)
Best Wishes (I was able to save mime)
The other option is to reinstall -
Hi Guys,
I need a report to compare the total sales by item wise.
Like i need ITEM CODE, DESCRIPTION, TOTAL QUANTITY INVOICED, PRICE for the given period.
i used the below query but am unable to achieve the exact result.
pls update the query.
SELECT distinct T1.ItemCode, T1.[Dscription], T1.[Quantity], T1.[Price], (T1.[Price] * T1.[Quantity] ) as
' Total Price '
FROM OINV T0
INNER JOIN INV1 T1 ON T0.DocEntry = T1.DocEntry WHERE T0.[DocDate] >=[%0] AND T0.[DocDate] <=[%1] and targettype != '14'
Thanks in Advance,
Regards,
VamsiHi ,
I need to know total sales - item wise in given period.
MY REPORT SHOULD BE LIKE THIS
ITEM CODE === ITEM NAME === QUANTITY === PRICE == (QUANTITY * PRICE)
ITEM1 == ITEM1 == Q1 == PRICE1 == VALUE1
ITEM2 == ITEM2 == Q2 == PRICE2 == VALUE2
ITEM N == ITEM N == Q N == PRICE N == VALUE N
EACH ITEM NEEDS TO BE APPEAR ONCE AND TOTAL CUMMULATIVE SALES QUANTITY FOR THE ITEMS
Thanks in advance,

OM/PA: Tool/Report to compare pers. subarea/EE grp&subgrp values?
My understanding is that IT1008 (pers area/subarea) and IT1013 (Employee group/subgroup)on the OM side default over to the PA side when an original action takes place like a new hire (when integration is turned on). The problem is when a change is made to the 1008/1013 data on the OM side, perhaps there is an error or the user decides to change the EE subgrp on the position, for example (instead of delimiting and creating a new position). The data can be changed on the OM side, but then when the action is run on the PA side, such as a category change action, the new information does not default over. The old values reamin in the fields. Only if the current values are deleted and then the user hits <ENTER> do the new values appear. I am puzzled why SAP standard does not automatically default in the changed values on the position when a PA action is run. Is it because it is best practice to create a new position when these values change and then enter int he new position number during the PA action? We have a situation here where many employees area changed from one employee group to another (temporary to casual and back) in the summer. It does not seem efficient to create new positions for all of them just to change one field value. What is the recommended way to handle this kind of situation? We would like to understand the best paractice for this procedurally.
This leads me to ask - is there a way to run a program that syncs personnel area/subarea and EE group and subgroup data from OM -> PA if it is out of sync? Are there any standard reports that compare this data and print out a log of what is out of sync so that users can make corrections? Your advise is greatly appreciated!
Thanks! To clarify, I do not want to create IT1008 and IT1013. I am wondering if I change data on one of those infotypes (which we have set-up on the position) such as employee group, subgroup, or personnel subarea, if there is a way to send those changes over to PA automatically without having to create a new position with the new information and then running an action on the PA side and inputting the new position number on infotype 0001. We are really asking if there is a way to simply transfer changed data on IT1008 or 1013 over to the PA side from the OM position.
Example: HR User goes into position 30000135 and changes the employee group from 2 to 5. On the PA side, when the user goes to view infotype 0001 the employee group still says 5. Even if the HR user goes to do a category change action on the PA side, when infotype 0001 comes up. the employee group is still 2. This value needs to be changed to 5. If the HR users want to keep the personnel subarea and employee group and subgroup as output only in infotype 0001 so that data entry clerks cannot change it there (so that it can only be changed in OM via the position), how can this work?
Will you please provide detail on how to use the function module 'BAPI_HRMASTER_SAVE_REPL_MULT' if it is used for this purpose?
Thanks! -
How to Broadcast BI Reports in the latest version of MS Excel
Dear Friends
I am broadcasting BI reports to our field team, and many of them are using mobile phones. But they are not able to view these reports in their mobile.
I am broadcasting it as Excel and it is going in the format .xls. We have other BI tools where they could open the reports which are in .xlsx.
That's why I doubt that our reports are not getting opened because we are sending in a older format of excel.
Please let me know if there is any option to send reports in the latest version of MS Excel (.xlsx)
Thanks & Regards
Ranjan JinkaI agree with Michael Devine . You have to setup Pre-calculation server to broadcast with .XLSX format.
Did you try with other output formats in broadcast definition? Also check your Users mobiles excel compatibility with .xls format? -

I have executed report having this function before oracle upgrade and it works fine.
But when i am trying to execute report after oracle version upgrade from 11.2.0.3.0 to 11.2.0.4.0 with same data report fails with runtime error Rep-1401: '' Fatal PL/SQL Error.
With New version we tried to typecast Text column from clob to varchar and executed report then it works... but report runs on old version without any explicit typecasting.
Please note when i run and call this funtion from sql developer with upgraded database version it works fine.
Please advise. This error can possibly depend on the fact that the PL/SQL engines are in different versions. When using SQL Developer you use the PL/SQL engine in the database. When using Oracle Reports you use the PL/SQL engine in the Oracle Reports Server (Web Logic Server even maybe). These versions - in the Forms and Reports realm - are different (read: a lower version) than the PL/SQL engine in the database.
If I check what version I have in Oracle Forms, as an example, I get 11.1.0.7.0 (Help in the Oracle Forms Builder menu) but in the database I have (select * from product_component_version;) 11.2.0.3.0.
That COULD be your issue...how to fix it I am not sure...
