Hierarchy Authorization field not greyed out in portal

Hello Gurus,,
I have a query,which has profit center as one of the selection variable and which has a a hierarchy on it. The Analysis authorization variable was created for the hierarchy. So it works fine in Bex Analyser,but when the same is run in portal,,, the authrozation field ( profit center) is not greyed out,but the F4 help shows just the authorized values alone ,which is good. But the issue is the enduser seems to be entering values manually,,,thereby the report runs for unauthorized values as well.
Can someone tell me,,if this could be a bug in sap,,, the field with authorization is
not being greyed out.,,,,,,,,is there any work around because the user wants it optional,,,,,,,
This is on 2004S version of BW.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,can someone guide me through this.....
Just to confirm,,only the nodes show in F4,,but is it standard functionality that the leafs doesn't show up in F4,when a leaf alone is selected as the hierarchy node in RSECADMIN................

I have tried what you said by activating and Deactivatin the RFC comm channel in ID but the same result.
I have also checked the Max connections in the RFC channel.
All in vain

Fields not greyed out in display mode in screen exit

Hi all,
i am working on an screen exit for CJ02 transaction. the values in the customer subscreen are getting updated in database and even it is reflecting in fields when viewed again. the problem is that in display mode (CJ03) the fields are still editable. though there is no save button, but the fields should be greyed out.
i have tried to modify screen using LOOP AT SCREEN in the function exit provided in PBO.....but it is not picking the subscreen.
please provide any solution as soon as possible.

J1iex-duty fields are greyed out

Dear all,
while doing j1iex, all the excise duty fields are greyed out? The quantity field is also in grey in colour. What might be the reason? Please suggest.

My question is i havent even captured the excise invoice. I did MIGO with only part I. Then came to J1IEX and tried capturing excise invoice. There i find all the duty fields are greyed out. It might be due to some note number. Please suggest.

Include updated website lists from Microsoft - Not greyed out

Hi,
As per description of the Group Policy setting "Include updated website lists from Microsoft" on GPMC console, by disabling this setting, the Microsft-provided lists are not used and the user will not be able to activate the feature.
If you disable the setting under "Policies\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Compatibility View\Include updated Web site lists from Microsoft" the checkbox is detached but it is not greyed out.
I have tried to set the policy under Computer Settings, User setting and also making a Registry edition under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\BrowserEmulation by setting "MSCompatibilityMode" to "1" but the behaviour
is still not the desired.
Does anybody know if there is any way to grey out this setting?

This policy controls the website compatibility lists that Microsoft provides. The updated website lists are available on Windows Update.
If you enable this policy setting, the Microsoft-provided website lists are used during browser navigation. If a user visits a site on the compatibility lists, the pages are automatically displayed in Compatibility View.

my comments:
the check for updates to the MSCVL is done the FIRST time the iexplore.exe process is started...
Try rebooting the computer or closing all open IE processes to see if the changes have taken effect.
Check if you have installed and activated Enterprise Mode which will over-ride any MSCVL settings.
Please provide a link to the website where you are seeing the 'undesired' behavior....
the google Plus web page plugin can change outcomes for x-ua meta determination.

Notiifcation Long text not grey out

I have seen the Notification Long text screen grey out once the user saves and log out. When next user enters he wil not b able to chnage the contents entered by previous user.
This is not actually hapening in my case...The screen and info entered doesnt grey out and the user can change it easily with no change documents generated,
Please help me achieve this. I need the field to be grey out once it is enterd and user has loggeds out. System shoud show the log-in user name and time when saved.

Check the below Check Box is Marked for That notification type
Log Line
No Text Change change
If above setting is already done then run Notication Transction again go in long text of Notification then after that Run transction code SU53 check your authorisation weather you have right authorisation obejct assign to you.

Group asset field is greyed out

I have created group assets. I given tick in group assets in SPRO for determining depreciation area and asset class. In layout, group asset field is made optional. Inspite of this in asset master, then entire tax depreciation area line is greyed out and so group asset tick is also greyed out.

Suppose if you have created a group asset like XXXX.
Now you have to enter this group asset number XXXX in the normal assets, for which you want to valuate at group asset level.
Have you checked in AO21, for the screen layout rules 1000 and 2000, the field Group asset's field status is set to optional or not....
For normal assets, in dep areas tab, the group asset dep area will always be greyed out. Click on that grey out field and enter the group asset number (XXXX) and SAVE.
Note: Group asset functionality is to valuate / depreciate the assets in a dep area at a specific group asset level with an higher / lower dep rate.
This will resolve your issue.

For Z Po order type - Item category field is greyed out.

Hi MM Experts,
I am an ABAper working on PO creation with respect to PR( PR with account assignment N) for Z order type . The requirement includes to update item category of PO with B , But for this Z order type both PO transaction Create/Change(ME21/ME22) the field item category has been greyed out ( Non editable). I checked the SPRO setting for this order type ( SPRO-MM->Purchasing-PO->Define Screenlayout at document level .The field item category has been made as optional.
Please let me know why this field ( item category still showing in display mode) and How to make it as editable .I need it as editable in ME22 to implement the new requirement of updating that field with item ategory B.

Hi All,
Since I was creating a PO with respect to PR - after running through all the screens the item category field was becoming non editable, But during the create in one of screen the field item category was still editable, so I updated the item category with B during the create and created the PO, I have used BDC to do the same and its working fine. ME57-Assign manually** fields are GREYed out**

HI Gurus,
When the user tries to use ME57 transaction to assign the vendor and purcahse organization by clicking on " Assign Manually" the purchase org data has been GREYed out and is not modifiable. What may be the cause for this issue? Has some user setting been maintained? or is it a GUI related issue? Please help.

Scess value field is grey out in MIGO while posting rejection excise invoic

In Return delivery ,i am capturing & posting excise invoice...
The problem is while we can change the values of BED,AED,ECS but the SCESS field is coming grey out.Therefore i cannot change it.
How can we remove the grey out so that we can enter manually whatever amount we have credited.
here the print program is made considering in MIGO we can capture/post excise invoice..

When it is return delivery tranaction and if you don't select no excise entry system by default captures all data from original document except quantity field and hence all the fileds will be non modifiable. However it is better to select 'No Excise Entry" at the time of Return Delivery and then go for "create excise invoice for other movements" T Code "J1IS" so that you could enter all the duties correct based on the qty rejected in return delivery.

How can i organize my photo albumbs(not greyed out)

So i was trying to organize some photos of mine from the computer and the internet.
I created folders in my pc and made my ipad synced with them as albums(folder names=albums).
Then i downloaded an image from the internet in my ipad and i wanted to move it to the correct album instead of cameral roll.
To my surprise i couldnt move it to the albumbs i send through my pc because they were greyed out, so i made a new folder with the same name as that folder i had in my pc and transferred the image there along with all the other images from the pc album.
So now in order to avoid having 2 albums for the same thing i removed the that folder from my pc and synced with ipad. I also deleted the downloaded image from camera roll because i didnt need it to be there and only wanted it to be in my new album.
Then to my surprise after syncing and deleting that image all the photos in the new album have dissapeared which means the image was never transfered, it was just linked there and if the original is gone then it is removed.
My question is.
Is there any way to organize my photos in albums, albums that you can move images to from camera roll and arent greyd out when you are trying to add an image to them. And also to move images in those albums without having to keep a copy of them in camera roll??
Having to update your pc folders everytime you download something from ipad is a pain.

Albums that you sync from your computer can't be deleted or amended directly on your iPad - you can only add photos to them, or remove photos, by adding/removing them on the folder on your computer and resyncing.
And when you create an album in the Photos app on your iPad and 'copy' a photo into it you are only creating a pointer to the photo, you're not creating a separate copy of the photo - so if you then delete the original photo from your iPad you will also be deleting all pointers to it and therefore remove it from any albums that you've 'copied' it into.
There are third-party photo management apps such as Photo Manager Pro which you could use instead - you can copy photos to that app from your computer, and to/from the Photos app, and you can delete photos (including those copied from a computer) directly in it. So you could use an app such as that for your albums.

Hierarchy authorization variable not filled

Hi experts,
I'm trying to give users access to their node in the 0COSTCENTER hierarchy using a variable $VARHCECO in a authotitazion object. This object has 0COSTCENTER equal to ' ' and 0TCTAUTHH equal to $VARHCECO. In the report variable customer exit this variable is filled in the I_STEP = 0 with the information that is stored in a ODS. Each user only can view his/her subtree cost centers.
Finally, in the query, a authorization variable is used in order to choose the nodes that the user has authorization.
The problem is that in runtime, neither the variable VARHCECO nor the I_STEP = 0 is reached because the customer exit is only called for i_VNAME blank and I_STEP = 3. As a consequence, I get an authorization error because of the variable is never filled.
How can I manage for the customer exit is called for variable VARHCECO and I_STEP = 0?

Hi David,
We have handled a similar scenario (not for cost center but for Organization Unit hierarchy) in a different way. Instead of using authorization object, we have defined a variable through customer exit.
The flow goes like this. You define a variable for which the values get filled up through customer exit. User do not have the flexibiity pass any values to this variable. It by default goes to the master, Picks up the Organization unit, he is assigned to, calls the function module which identifies the nodes under that Org unit hierarchy.. Passes the list of Org_units to e_t_range.
By this he can by default see all objects/employees under his org unit and the Hierarchy below that only.

Issue with Popup LOV field not clearing out "default" value

I am using APEX 4.0 & Oracle 10g
I have a form that displays a default value on a "Popup LOV" field (say P1_POPUP) when the Form is initially displayed to the user. The default value is part of the Popup LOV list of values. If the field is "manually cleared" *i.e. I clear the default value by backspacing and don't touch the LOV) and I Refresh (submit) the form (REFRESH button to display the same Form again), the default value is still displayed.
In Post Processing, I debugged the value of P1_POPUP to see if holds the default value and yes it does. I was expecting no value in P1_POPUP.
Is this an APEX standard behavior?
Any way how I can get rid of this value on an manually clearing action of this Pop Up field?

I apologize, the default value was NULL indeed. However, it seems like I may need to manually clear this value so that it will not be displayed.

Hey not sure if it has been fixed for you but I had this problem after updating to 29.0.
I realise you completely reset/reinstalled everything so this might not fix it but all I had to do was Clear all browsing data(Ctrl+Shift+Del) and then use 'Exit Firefox' from the drop down menu(not the window's top right close button)
For whatever reason that fixed it and I can now restore sessions/restore closed tabs.

Photoshop CC 2014 (same happens in illustrator). Filter gallery (not greyed out, file is regular 8bit rgb) will not work. Error message "the operation could not be completed". Tried throwing out preferences etc.

Anyone know why this happened after last photoshop update?

Type Terminal in Spotlight (The magnifying glass or to the right of your name on the Mac menu bar) and double click it to start it up.
Copy and paste the command at the prompt ($) and it should look like this. Press Enter, type your password, then Enter again.
What I'm think is that if the permissions of the App Support folder were altered, that might explain why things are refusing to work properly
It's an idea, it won't hurt anything, and if we are lucky it will fix the problem.

"Play Base Layer Only" Is Only RT Choice Not Greyed Out?

Just opened FCE 4 on my G4 eMac and when trying to select "Unlimited RT" find that every option other than "Play Base Layer Only" is unavailable.
I've searched the menus and made new sequences to no avail.
I know I'm going to kick myself, but what am I doing wrong?

As for the old eMac, it is very good and pretty fast even though RT with AIC is unavailable.
I suppose I never noticed the absence because I only used HDV briefly on it in FCE 4 and FCP 5.1.4. Seems to work fine apart from that.
