How can i load the hierachy data from R3 to BW?

Hello Prudhvi,
In SAP R/3, Tcode RSA5. Find appropriate Hierarchy Datasource for Profit center, cost center .
Activate the data source. Once activated you can see this datasource in RSA6 (in Source system itself). There in RSA6 you will be able to test run this data source(also you will be able to see the data for this test run). If you want you can also test this data source in RSA3 also.
Now in BW system: Replicate this data source. create mappings(update rules etc) between this Hierarchy data source and the Hierarchy infoobject.
Now you can create InfoPackage for this Datasource and Schedule it to load Hierarchy data in BW

Hi Eric,
No standard tool exists for this operation. However, if you really prefer to do it manually, you can pull a trick. You can export your cost centre hierarchy to TXT file, correct there certain parameters (change BCCSS to BGLPCT, etc.) and then import it as profit centre hierarchy.

Profit Center Hierarchy Error - profit center hierarchy not defined

in Quality client QA
0ke5, the configuration settings is not transfered from DEV through transport request.
now i have created the Profit Center Hierarchy and started process testing. Now i try to assign the hierarchy in 0ke5, error message standard hierarchy not defined in controlling area XXX.
I also try to define the Dummy Profit Center KE59, but error comes profit center hierarchy not defined.
also note that 0ke5 and 1kef are blank.

try to re-transport PCA
IMG; CO--> PCA --> tools --> transaport customizing set. -->
but i believe if you transport only the "master data" Q will function fine. ( try OKEQ first)

Table name for Cost Center Group/Profit Center Group/Cost Element Group

Hi,
The tables for storing groups in SAP are SETNODE and SETLEAF. The codes in the previous message posted by my fellow SAP consultant are transactions and not tables.
The classes are:
Cost centres - 0101
Cost elements - 0102
Profit centres - 0106

What are the things we have to consider to create Profit center hierarchy and cost center hierarchy and what is the need to assign profit center hierarchy to profit center and cost center hierarchy to cost center. What levels does this fall into? Can some one please guide me.

Create an infopackage per hierarchy!!!!! - press the button available hirachies from OLTP - click the one you want on the left - fire it off
Then repeat new infopackages for all hierachies

Cost Center and Cost Element Hierarchy and Actual Cost Center

In Bex - Right now I am displaying Cost Center and Cost Element hierarchy with 12 months of data. I want to display the actual Cost center number next to cost element hierarchy - Can I display in Bex?
Tried to with Structure creating formula variable for Cost Center using replacement path - didn't work. Can you please suggest me how i can achieve this?
The format should be
CostCenter H1 CostElement H1 CostCenter Jan Feb ...

Let me explain it clearly and hope it is clear now...
Designed the report as like this - Cost Center Hierarchy by Cost Element Hierarchy for 12 months of data. But Business agian search in R/3 for actual cost center numbers based on above two hierarchy nodes.
I am trying to achieve this Bex instead of going back to R/3 - so that they can understand how the dollar amount is summed up on which major cost centers.
If I remove the hierarchy on Cost Center - it will display all the cost centers. They want to see the Cost center numbers based on CC and CE hierarchy node so that you are displaying only those cost centers. That's the reason I am trying to design the report with CC Hier, CE hier, Cost Center number and 12 months of data.
In my data model - have only one Cost Center, if i can create another ZCOSTCENTER same as 0COSTCENTER - May be I can achieve this. still looking for options with out changing the design.

Hierarchy authorization: profit center, 0account for 0PCA_C01 data.

Hello my SAP Net friends,
I have built the authorizations/roles using profit center hierarchy for PCA data based the paper in BWExpert(Avoid these common pitfalls in using reporting authorizations with and without hierachies), it works fine.
Both 0profit_ctr and 0account are in the 0PCA_C01 cube, they both have hierarchies.
Now users also want to use the 0account hierarchy to limit PCA data access beside using the profit center. Have any of you had experience to use both profit center and 0account hierarchies for authorization? Could it works? Any limitation or issues?
I have created authorization object using the profit center, if I create another authorization object using 0account. Could these two authorization objects works together?
I will assign points to any helpful responses.

Hello Jun,
0profit_ctr and 0account are two different characteristics, so authorization to those two are independent of each other.
I.e., you can set authorization two both characteristics by means of both hierarchies.

Structure view "Profit center hierarchy" for Information system

Hi Experts
The structure view "Profit center hierarchy" is not available in standard system. I have created a new key with assignement of PS Hierarchy type '2'.
But iam getting below message when I use this new structure view:
Alternative hierarchy could not be determined
Message no. OK032
Diagnosis
You attempted to structure your project elements according to an alternative hierarchy (profit center, cost center or summarization hierarchy). The alternative hierarchy could not be read.
System Response
The system uses the "Work breakdown structure" view.
Any suggestion?

Ok lets start from basics
go to CN41 and enter a project with std PS info profile 000000000000001
if you click o the DB profile you will have basic setting 000000000000001 etc
this gives us the project structure
Now in transaction OPUR create a view for PC hierarchy
Z00000000001 - whatever description
select PS hier type 2 - Profit Ctr via set
I think you have done this
In this configuration there is a group name - you need to enter the profit centre hierarchy group name from your system
this group must exist in your system check using transaction KCH3 to display group - if this is not entered correctly you will get the exact error you have got - I have been able to replicate in my system
Now run CN41 change DB profile project view from 00000000001 to Z0000000001

Hi either profit center or cost center, change the analysis period will not work if we do it in between the year. we have to change this at the end of the fiscal year end. Then only it will allow you to save it..

Profit Center Hierarchy is not updating in Variable

HI Guru's,
Profit Center Hierarchy is not updating in Variable .
We have 3 new profit center added of which i have updated the master data ie, attr, txt, and hierarchy and Txn data. Where after updating i can find the thing updated but when i execute the report in the variable i dont find the updated profit center.

Make correction on Standard Hierarchy in Profit Center.

1. Assigned a wrong std Hierarchy to Profit Center and need to make correction toward STD Hierarchy?
2. In create Profit Center Accting and Cost Center Accting, how would I toggle from one Controlling Area to another?
3. how would I delete a wrong Profit Center Accting without creating new one in its place?

1. Pr Ctr Group can be deleted using KCH2.. Enter KCH2 and choose DELETE from the menu GROUP
If you can paste your error here with the detailed anlaysis, it would help to help you
3. The program SAPFICO has given is not to delete the hierarchy, but to delete a Profit Center Document...
To delete a PC Hierarchy, go to KCH4 and except for the Top Node, you can delete the child nodes...
In order to delete the child nodes, first change all Profit Center Masters that contain these child nodes... Assign all PCs to the Top Node.... Then delete the child nodes....
So, in a nut shell, I expect you to
a. Try KCH2 or KCH4 as suggested above..
b. In case you get error message, paste the same here
c. Let me know in case you are in a test system so that we can explore further avenues if need be..
