Hierarchy load -Master Data(No attributes,Text data loaded)

I have been trying to load hierarchy data in the datasource 0BBP_BIGURE_HIER from SRM to my BI system but the monitor shows the req remaining in yellow for hours together.The data comes fine till PSA but doesnt get loaded to the Infoobject 0BBP_BIGURE.The text data has been succesfully loaded for 0BBP_BIGURE.No attributes for the infoobejct to be loaded.
Can someone provide some information abt how to load 0BBP_BIGURE_HIER from SRM and what can be the possible errors.

I have tried what it says in SAP url(http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/85/14853df3e60968e10000000a114084/frameset.htm). I have reset the timestamp in the table BBP BWTIMESTAMP in Enterprise Buyer but, then, when i tried to upload the hierarchy again as it says, the problem persist. The monitor keeps the yellow status and the hierarchy doesn´t upload.
What have you done to solve it finally?

According to best practice for Headcount and Personnel Actions( 0PA_C01), we have to do several process after infocube activation. e.g. active Query, query view, and loading transaction data.
The question is when should we load master data attr./text/hier. ? Why does SAP do not put it on the best practice document?

Hi,
You should always load Master data before transactional data. This helps in loading transactional data faster as the SID tables are already populated once you load the master data and helps master data load performance. Make sure that the loaded master data is followed by an attribute change run always as if this step is not executed, the loaded master data will not take effect.
Also in terms of reporting, if any users are accessing the queries and master data is missing at that point of time (might be loaded later), then the reports for those characteristics are going to show up as # (not assigned) and make no sense for reporting.
If the referential integrity box is checked during transactional data load, the loads will fail if relevant master data is not loaded first.
So, always load master data first, followed by attribute change run and then load the transactional data.

How does one decide i.e. on what factors should the ZInfoobject be:
a. Master Data
b. Text Data

Hi Rajesh,
Based on base tables you can not say that you need master data or not. If you load master data it improves the performance of the dataloading as system finds SID's in master data quickly. If you do not load master data while loading transactional data anyway it will create entries in the master data table automatically slowing the transactional data load. In your case,
VGABE (Transaction/event type, purchase order history.)
Suppose values are as AS, EW,XY. In report while selecting the transaction type ( via variable) in F4 help if user sees only AS,EW they will not understand what the type exactly mean. If you load Tet master data for VGABE( zinfoobject) you will be able to see text along with the value.
In addition if user wants to see key figure values distributed in the hierarchy as e.g for 0material,
material            Qty.
Childrenwear     30
   womenwear    40
in such case you need to build hierarchy.

Hi,
1.
You can't send data back into Essbase if your POV has an attribute specified. The attribute will calculate (by default it does a sum) your POV dynamically and only bring back data which has that attribute assigned to it.
If you want to send data back into Essbase then the easiest way would be to keep the same POV and just remove the reference to the attribute. Smartview will then let you send data back into the Essbase cube.
2.
Same answer as point 1. Attributes are ways of adding more detail to members that already exist. You dont' load data into the attribute, you load data into the member that the attribute is assigned to.

Change Date format to Text for Import

I have used Sql Server Integration Services to extract some data into Excel. When I load the files it seems that not all the time the dates are formatted with the time. If I format the field this just changes the display value and not the underlying
field value. I have tried to copy the field into notepad, add a new field format this as text and then paste the desired format. But this also does not
always work. Is there an easy way to change the date/time value so it is always in a consistent format to import into another system?

If I understand correctly, you want to change a column from Date data type to Text while importing data to Excel.
If in this scenario, we can use Data Conversion Transformation or Derived Column Transformation to convert the original Date data type to Text data type, then use the new column maps to the corresponding Destination column.

Loading GL Master Data -- Attributes, Text, Hier ; and Transaction Data

Hi all,
Could any one give me the steps individually to load the following type of data in BI 7.0:
1. Master Data with Attributes
2. Master Data with Text
3. Master Data with Hierarchy
4. Transaction Data
Do I have to create the Transformation and DTP's individually to load all the above kind of Data?
Please give me the information as much as you can.

For master data when you create tranformation it will prompt infoobject to act as infoprovider, and then you create DTP to schedule data to it. It works fine with attribute and Texts, though hierarchy dosn;t support much features of 2004s at my side. Like i am not able to migrate Hierarchy datasource to 2004s, and even when i replicate it, it comes as 3.5 datasource only.
For transaction data follow Gokuls step, or try to find on forums you will get lot of discussion on it.

BPC 7.5 NW Master Data Text Node Load with Hierarchy Intervals - Duplicate

Does anyone have ideas on how to get past this error (besides a BADI)?
I am loading master data text nodes from a BW hierarchy (say 0COSTCENTER) that has intervals defined for cost center nodes. The problem is that the text nodes fail since there are duplicate values in the hierarchy table.
Master data (dealt by table level) has errors
Detected duplicate member ID 'F100'
Detected duplicate member ID 'F100'
Detected duplicate member ID '1000'
Detected duplicate member ID '1000'
etc...

You should be able to see an example in many threads; look for an example to Restriction of bw infoobect(not mapped to dim)
You can also make a restriction under the InfoObject name when you run the DM package.

While loading master data to ZMAJORGU(MOU)(info object texts) from datasource (ZOS_HRP1000)datasource iam getting error in DTP.
below is the error...
Diagnosis
    Data record 349 & with the key 'Ship &' is invalid in value 'Ship &' of
    the attribute/characteristic ZMAJORGU &.
System Response
    The system has recognized that the value mentioned above is invalid, and
    has processed this general error message. A subsequent message may give
    you more information on the error. This message refers to the same

Procedure
    If this message appears during a data load, maintain the attribute in
    the PSA maintenance screens. If this message appears in the master data

I have done the following regarding the issue ....Looking at the error i have gone trough the transformation and i didnt find any routines or formuales
I have checked the PSA and down loaded the data to spread sheet and put a filter on SHORT and STEXT assuming i will find the value
'Ship &' as mentioned in the Diagnosis description. However i was not able to find the relavent data(i went to se16 gave teh request ID from PSA and displayed the entire data)tarting with Ship .The closest value i could find in both the fileds was was AVP Shipment .
I have the following questions
1)In the screen short 2 it says record number 349 is it right to go to PSA table and check against the record number 349(i tried that but i was not able to find the error against that record)
2)why am i not finding the value 'Ship' in PSA ...but this is the value wich is creating a poblem in updating to the target ....does it mean the record value is Ship or it starts with Ship or is ir part of some word?
Please find the attached PSA data file (u have to convert it to Excel)
I request people to help me analyse the issue and fix the issue.

I checked other records as well they were a lot of smallcharecters upper case charectres ,numeric special charecters .but nothing stopped ...when the system is even accpeting all other charectres like smallof caps or numeric... why on this record is creating an issue...
please have a look at error stack
and i have one more question when i look at PSA there are close to 300000 records
but when i do an SE16 with request id i see only close to one lakh records (i came to conclusion b dragging down and the last record number was (below screen shot)
Can you tell me what my mistake is numebr or records are not tallying in SE16 and PSA..

How to load master data with text into infoObject in BI 7.0

Hi all;
I have an infoobject 0employee ( this is for employee number ,8 character long), with medium text option.
I would like to load Employee name as a text option for employee number.
How do I load this mater data into this 0employee object,
Please help.
I did look for something similar in the forum and there are many of them, but I couldn't find anything that for BI 7.0 and really clear help for me. Sorry to ask a question that been asked before.

as you are using SAP defined infoobject you can start from the creation of datasource.
text format for the flat file is
LANGUAGE,INFOOBJECT,TEXT
EN,0EMPLOYEE,RAINNIE
You have to create ,infopakage, transformation ,dtp for both the attribute and text.

'Error in Loading Master -Text data'

hi Experts,
i am Novice in BW Tech. Today i have tries to Load Master data Attr and Text from Flat file(CSV ) format .
AttrData Load was Successful but I My Text is failed to Load.
My Text Data file has Three fields
(1) Langu for this filed i have Loaded data 'E'
(2) Materailnumber it is my key field it size is char
15 and values in the file 'MAT01' ' MAT02 ' and so on
(3) Third is the Description and its size 20 char
I can see following error
First field 'langu' is successful in loading.
System response
A caller 01, 02 or equal to or greater than 20 contains an error meesage.

Lock NOT set for: Loading master data attributes error

Hi experts,
We were encountering this error before when trying to load master data. When we checked the system we could not find any locks at the time, and activation or kicking off the attribute change run failed again. We finally solved the problem running FM RSDDS_AGGR_MOD_CLOSE which sets the close flag to 'X' in table RSDDAGGRMODSTATE. I have read that it is possible this lock error happens when two change runs happen at the same time.
My question are:
1. is it possible to find out what process exactly "caused" the lock? the table RSDDAGGRMODSTATE does not have a reference to any object or job. I am curious as we are trying to find ways to avoid this in the future...
2. in our case, when we could not find any locks, is running this fm the only work around? is this a best practice?

I have had this problem in the past (3.0B) --> the reason is that our system was too slow and could not crunch the data fast enough, therefore packets where loacking each other.
The fix: load the data into the PSA only, and then send it in background from the PSA to the info object. By doing this, only a background process will run, therefore locks cannot happen.
Fix#2: by a faster server (by faster, I mean more CPU power)
Now, maybe you have another issue with NW2004s, this was only my 2 cents quick thought

Where to set lock while loading master data attributes

Hello Experts,
I have two different datasources from ECC which loads into 0CUST_SALES attributes. I'm using two different DTP & transformation which are loading data in the this infoobject attributes.
When i try to load data, the DTP fails with an error message at "Updating attributes for InfoObject 0CUST_SALES Processing Terminated" & the job log says: "Lock NOT set for: Loading master data attributes".
Here what exactly LOCK means?

Hi,
The lock means that some program is updating the master data (a table) and at the same time other program can not update that same master data. When the first program completes the updation it will release the lock so that the other program can update this.
In your case you and schedule the DTP one after another.

I have this requierement: the text (description long) of InfoObject should be filled defends on the content of one attribute of this InfoObject.

1st) activate your object as data target and do the assignment in the transfer or update rules.
--- How can I active my InfoObject (Text if the InofoObject)as data target?
Right Click your info area and choose " Insert characteristics as a Datatarget" and give your info object Id.
2) create a generic datasource on the p-table of your object and assign that datasource as text datasource to your object.
--- How can I create a generic datasource on the p-table of your object ?
For Eg: your info object name is like this
ZIO_CID
For this P table will be like this
/BIC/PZIO_CID
In RSO2 tcode Generic datasources create datasource based on this table .

Hierarchy for Master Data Load from BW

Hi All
I'm loading Master data from BW infoobject 0Customer. There is no Hierarchy maintained for it in BW.
Rather than creating hierarchy manually in BPC, I want to include mapping in transformation/conversion file which should roll master data records coming from BW to ALL_CUSTOMERS (member manually maintained in BPC). ALL_CUSTOMERS will be parent node for the hierarchy in BPC. No other levels of hierarchy is required. All the data should have one parent.
Something like PARENT=*STR(ALL_CUSTOMERS)
Please share your ideas? Help is very much appreciated.

If you are laoding master data from BW infoobject, you will not be able to load /specify any value for ParentH1/hierarchy node as BW /BPC does not allow that.
An option would be to
1) load hierarchy from a flat file or
2) to maintain hierarchy in BW amd load into BPC the normal way
