Hierarchy node text shows short text instead of medium text in WebI report

Hi,
We have created a simple Hierarchy suing Tx RSH1.
US -> North Carolina
South Carolinakey
Rest of America
Please note "North Carolina" is the medium text for the node while the short text which can contain max of 10 chars is "North Caro"
We have used and activated the hierarchy within the BEx query. Text display with "Medium Text" has been enabled for the InfoObject. The display on the BW report is as expected showing the medium text for all levels and all modes.
When a universe is built on the query and a WebI report is created based on the universe everything works fine other than than the Hierarchy text for different levels and nodes. Instead of showing the Medium text, the short text is getting display.
We took out the text object from the Universe in the Universe designer and went ahead with the key and medium text, but that did not help.
Is this a known bug? Is there a workaround for this issue?
We are on XI 3.1 SP3.

I am working on BO XI 3.1 SP2.
I have displayed the medium text for the hierarchy nodes as:
In my universe three detail objects(key, medium name and long name) gets generated for each hierarchy node.
I have copied the definition of L01 Medium name (detail object) in the L01 dimension object. similarly for other hierarchy nodes.
i.e. L02, L03.. etc.
Now the master data which have been loaded for the medium name will be displayed.

ITunes opens but without any text showing. Drop down menus have text but not the app itself. I have a Mac Powerbook Pro running Windows XP under Boot Camp.

Running under Windows XP, a few upgrades ago iTunes started opening without any text showing in the application. Clicking on PLAY will play music but no text shows to indicate what's playing and no text to show music library. Drop down windows show text but not the app itself.
Subsequent upgrades and reinstalls have not corrected the problem, When I run under iOS (Snow Leopard), iTunes opens with text and runs correctly.

Because I created FAT32 partition using Boot Camp tool few days ago I installed my custom copy of Windows XP with SP3, IE7 and WMP10 integrated using nLite (for WMP10 integration use RVM Integrator). I did not use Boot Camp tool this time - I just booted CD using Option key. Then I installed Boot Camp 2.0 drivers you can find on Mac Disk 1. After this I installed Boot Camp drivers 2.1 update. In Add or remove Programs I checked drivers - I uninstalled old drivers which call identical, but you can skip this. Everything works fine BTW it is better to format your partition to NTFS - you have much less disk errors, you do not waste time for disk errors scans during Windows startup, your data are much more safe. If you need NTFS write permissions use great tool Paragon NTFS for Mac OSX or open source NTFS driver.

Removed variable still shows up in the variable screen of a Web report

Hello,
I am using a variable screen in a web report. I changed the variable on 0CALMONTH, but I still can see the old one. Two variables now show up. In Bex, only the new one can be seen.
Does anyone knows the reason for that? I'm using BW 7.0 with the 3.5 reporting functionalities.

i'm sorry, it's not datasource... it's dataprovider
 delete the dataprovider from the the HTML Code...you could see the DataProvider in <Object>... </Object>
suppose let us assume that you have DataProvider and DataProvider. you are not using DataProvider3, delete from the HTML code.
delete this block from HTML.

Showing all Characteristic values from Master Data in WebI report

I want to show master data when there is no data in Cube, I have created constant variable with 1 value in Bex and I am using that in the crystal report but it's still not showing master data. Can anybody help me on this.

Run Time Error when trying to select hierarchy node

Hy all,
the situation is the following:
i attempt to create a variable of type "hierarchy node" (for cost center cha) in my planning area, i used the replacement type "user defined value", check on "input allowed by user" and then i create the user entry, in selection condition i run match code and when i try to select a single cost center (not a hierarchy node) expanding the hierarchy tree the system goes dump with the following message:
Runtime Errors MESSAGE_TYPE_X
Error analysis
Short text of error message:
Program is inconsistent -> see long text
Technical information about the message:
Diagnosis:
An inconsistent program status has occurred. The program cannot be continued.
System response:
The system crashes.
Procedure
 1. Look in OSS for a note under the error message UPC099.
 2. When you open a problem message, send the first pages of the
 system crash message including the section 'Source code excerpt
 ' with the message.
 Procedure for System Administration
 Message classe...... "UPC"
 Number.............. 099
Selecting a hierarchy node (not a single cost center but a text node grouping more cost conter) this problem does not occur.
I appreciate (and reward) any hints.

Display medium text in value selection screen.

Hello Experts,
i have an infoObject called Customer in an ODS.Its master data contains the short text, medium length text and long text.i want to display its medium text(which contains First name n last name) in the value selection screen (F4) while executing the web report.

Master data medium texts not loaded in table

Hi,
I have this Info Object which had only short texts enabled earlier.
I changed this to enable the medium texts and I am loading the medium texts via a flat file.
This worked fine in the development system and the medium texts were populated in the text table.
However once I moved this object to quality; the medium texts are not getting loaded
I debugged the transfer and update rules and I see that in the Development system, the generated program fills both the short and medium texts. However in Quality, the generated program only fills the short texts and no code exists for medium texts.
Can you please let me know how to resolve this issue?

As our experts said may be ur loading data from othe source also for that object
If it is sure that u are loading data from flat file , u know that that object where it is used , either it is a standard object or custom object(Z object)
if it is standard object then it will be used in different places at that time deleting the data also it is to difficult.
u try once again first select the medium text check box and do the activation of that master data object and move the same to quality and check that medium text check box selection option is appering or not then it is appering
then move the data sorce and Transformation and DTP and load the data and try to see the data.

Change the colour of a cell text depending on the value Web Reports (NW04s)

Hi all,
does anyone know how to change the color of the text of a cell depending on its value on Web Reports? For example red text for values smaller than zero and blue for values bigger than zero?
I know you can create exceptions, but that changes the background color of the cell and not the text color
I have tried modifying the theme but the property "negative text" doesn't related to cell values.

Hierarchy Node Variables in Selection Screen

Hi Experts!
I have a hierarchy Node variables of InfoObject in BEx. When I execute the report, I choose Hierarchy variables in Selection screen of BEx Web. I see all of attributes of infoObject, I want to reject all of those.
Suppose that: In infoObject 0COSTCENTER has attributes (Controlling Area, BusinessArea, CompanyCode, ProfitCenter u2026.), I donu2019t need to see those attributes of Costcenter when I choose node in Hierarchy variables. I only want to get the CostCenter. Please some advise to solve that issue or how can I do that?

Try This:
Double click on the info object
then go to the Hierarchy Tab
here u find a button of External Char in hierarchies
Click on this
On right hand side u find some of the attributes of the info object
place them on left hand side
Execute it & activate the Info object.

Display of Hierarchy Nodes as Medium Text in Web Report

Hello everyone,
Does anybody know how to display the hierarchy nodes as medium text instead of short text (default) in web report?
I know it is possible to change the display setting directly (by right clicking on hierarchy node > properties) from the web report.
However, I would love to know if there is any other way to change the settings such as through Query designer or Hierarchy maintenance in SAP GUI so that users do not need to change the display settings every time they view the web report.

What if a Hierarchy is created under an InfoObject? How can I change the Text view of each name of the Hierarchy nodes?
In Query Designer, I tried to change the Text View to Long but it only affects the text of the InfoObject but not the Hierarchy nodes.
I tried the 2nd suggestion too. I only can find the BEx description for the InfoObject but not the Hierarchy nodes.
It would be great if anyone could tell me how to do so.

Lack of texts in hierarchy nodes and leafs for 0ORGUNIT

Hello experts!
We have the BCT hierarchy 0ORGUNIT in BW exporting his time-dependent structure from R/3. Now, for some leafes and some nodes above the leaf we have no texts just see the key.
Has someone an idea what the problem could be? In R/3 we have the text and in master data of 0ORGUNIT we also have the text within the right time period...

I'm not sure I understand what you are suggesting. Here is the data we have:
Hierarchy             Key Figure
- CC 0001 (node)      30.56

       CC 0003 (leaf)     5.72
       CC 0004 (leaf)     7.47
       CC 0005 (leaf)     4.47
We want the value 6.45 to show up next to the CC 0002 hierarchy node, since that is the value for that cc. And we want the 6.45 to show up against the cc 0001 node rather than adding everything beneath it. What you suggested below - is that a display option in the query, or where do I do it?

Bex Analyzer 7.0, Filter on Hierarchy Node (Text Group)

I would be glad if anyone of you could help me with this issue.
I made an application with Bex Analyzer 7.0 which does following -> create certain combinations and copy it directly into PowerPoint as a picture. This works great, I can send you the code if you want to. I could even create a blog or wiki ...
My issue appears when I try to copy a value for hierarchy node into Filter in Bex. It is possible to write into Filter some value and the system sets a filter with this value, there is no doubt about it. But I wanted to filter on a whole hierarchy node. I'm not able to do this by copying the value into the line. With the context menu no problem.
Example 1:(works fine)
Characteristics Filter:
0comp_code 1000
Example 2:(doesn't work)
Characteristics Filter:
0comp_code +Group1(Text Node)
I will appreciate any kind of help.

I just upgraded my iPhone4s to iOS7 and now I am unable to make phone calls and send/receive text messages. Network signal indicator on the upper left side of the display shows hollow circles instead of full circles. Any idea how to fix the problem?

I checked with my colleagues in the office who use the same network and theirs work just fine on iOS7. Any idea how to fix the problem?

I have also called my service provider and my service remains active in the network. I tried removing and reinserting my SIM but to no avail.

0GLACCEXT hierarchy nodes description ( text ) not displaying

Hi Gurus,
I have uploaded 0GLACCEXT hierarchy from ECC system in to BI 7.0. I can only see the hierarchy nodes in the RSH1 and in the reports as well for 0GLACCEXT.But I am not able to see the hierarchy nodes description like under Expenses > salaries , wages , housing etc .....only its GL accounts is displaying like 700100 , 700200
I also uploaded Text datasource ( 0GL_ACCOUNT_TEXT ) for 0GLACCEXT , the text is loading without any problem but the changes are not being reflected in the RSH1 and the reports.

Thanks for your reply , the text for 0GL_ACCOUNT is displaying fine , I don't have any issues with 0GL_ACCOUNT , my main concern is I'm using Financial Statement item 0GLACCEXT for Balance Sheet and P&L Statement (for period accounting) by using Virtual Cube 0FIGL_VC1 the Text is not displaying in the reports as well as in RSH1 , where as for 0GL_ACCOUNT the hierarchies and text are working and displaying fine.
I'm closing this thread , the problem has been solved
it was related to mappings in Transfer rules.

Show text in dropdown box instead of value....

Hello,
I'm having this annoying problem. In a dropdown box, I can only see the value, not the text associated to the value. I think this is strange since I've worked with this before and don't remember having to select the "Text".
Do I have to do anything?
By the way, If I swap the value with the text I can see the text, so I know the problem is that I'm seeing the value instead of the texts. They are available just not being shown.
