Hierarchy questions

I have 2 questions related to hierarchy :
1. How do I assign a record say individual product record to an hirarchy e.g.
All Product ->Electrical Products->Fan->4 blade fan , 230 V AC
                                                ->Motors-> 3 phase induction motor , 415 V AC
                 ->Mechanical Products->Compressor-> 1000 cc air compressor
2. Also how can i assign attribute to specific node of an hierarchy say Fan in this case .
Guess above can be achieved using taxonomy  but how to do it in the hierarchy
Can some one provide the steps , thanks

Hi Amit,
Replying to ur first query:
This u can do in the hierarchy mode of the data manager.
Note:Although you can view, add, edit and delete the records of a hierarchy table in <u>Record mode</u>, you should usually edit a hierarchy table in <u>Hierarchy mode</u> so that you can view and edit the hierarchical relationships in addition to the other fields of each record.
MDM supports inner node assignments indirectly , while preserving the rule that a hierarchy lookup field be assigned only to a leaf node in the hierarchy – using an internal leaf node .
You can then make inner node assignments to the parent by assigning records to the internal leaf – which acts as a proxy for the parent for assignment purposes – just as you would assign records to any other leaf node .
When you use the Create Internal Leaf command to create an internal
leaf for a parent node, MDM creates a duplicate of the parent node as
its first child
Steps:
To create an internal leaf node for a hierarchy tree item:
1. In the hierarchy tree, select the parent node for which you want to
create an internal leaf.
2. Right-click on the node and choose Create Internal Leaf from the
context menu, or choose Tree > Create Internal Leaf from the main
menu.
3. MDM adds an internal leaf node named “[parent]” as the first child of
the selected node.
NOTE &#9658;&#9658; The name of the internal leaf node is the name of the
parent node in square brackets ([]).
NOTE &#9658;&#9658; You cannot edit the node name nor any of the fields of the
internal leaf, which are auto-populated with the values of the parent
when the internal leaf record is first created. This means that if the
name of the parent changes, the internal leaf will continue to display
the old parent name in square brackets.
NOTE &#9658;&#9658; A normal leaf node cannot be converted into an internal
leaf node nor can an internal leaf node be converted into a normal leaf
node. Instead, you must create a second node, reassign records from
the first node to the second node, and then delete the first node.
Create Internal Leaf Constraints
Operation Constraints
Add
Internal Leaf
&#56256;&#56451; Must be in Hierarchy or Taxonomy mode
&#56256;&#56451; Tree must have focus
&#56256;&#56451; Exactly one node must be selected
&#56256;&#56451; Root node cannot have internal leaf node child
&#56256;&#56451; Node cannot be an alias
&#56256;&#56451; Node cannot have an alias
&#56256;&#56451; Node cannot have a matching set
&#56256;&#56451; Node already has internal leaf
&#56256;&#56451; Node is an internal leaf
Please reward me with points if u find this information useful.

  • 2 issues - Invalid Serial Number issue & Lightroom 5 Trial vs full version folder hierarchy question

    Hello
    not sure if I should split these two questions...
    1 - Invalid Serial Number issue
    I'm helping out a friend with their large photo collection and they bought Lightroom 5 and received the serial number but when we add this to Lightroom it states that it's invalid - I tried leaving it until the following week (I visit them weekly) and it still refusing the number - when I went into their Adobe account and took a look at downloads the option to download the full version is greyed out (or an x - I'm not sat on their computer right now so can't double check) but it wouldn't allow me to do anything so we just had the trial version.
    anyone know what the issue is - shall I get them to contact Adobe to get them to take a look - I also had issues trying to find a customer support email address lol. (I seem to faffing with lots of websites/software/companies this week so getting a little frazzled!)
    2 - Lightroom 5 Trial vs full version folder hierarchy question
    This question is linked to the above i- I am wondering if the folders in Lightroom are different in the trial version vs the fully paid version.
    I had set up some greeting card templates and contact sheet layouts for my friend and tried to transfer them to her computer but whilst, LR 'sees' the folders it just doesn't acknowledge the templates - I tried it several ways but I've not had that issue before so will that sort itself when I get the serial number fixed?
    Thank you for any help or suggestions - hope you all have a good weekend :-)
    Lenny

    Hi Lenny, the two questions may be related but the trial is actually the same as the full version. I would suggest getting the serial number issue sorted out first. There have been known issues where a paid for product still shows up as a trial.There is not a lot the community can do. You need to contact Adobe directly using the link below. Use the dropdown menu for boxes (1) & (2) to scroll down the list and choose:
    1. Adobe Photoshop Lightroom
    2. Serial number issues or activating my product
    3. Click on the blue button: Still need help? Contact us – then click the button marked “chat now”
    It’s usually possible to start a live chat, if an Adobe agent is free, and often to get the problem fixed right away.

  • Hierarchy Question

    Hello, I have a question regarding hierarchy. I want to download my hierarchy to an excel file. I found this one link that shows how to do that (http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/0403a990-0201-0010-38b3-e1fc442848cb?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true&5003637719024) but it puts it in a flat file which does not make sense. is it possible t odownload it in Excel file in different cells that one can understand? Thanks.

    hi,
      Please see the below link that might be useful
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BI/HierarchyDownloadto+Flatfile
    Also  you try t-code RSH1 and click on "print hierarchy", then will it show in excel, you cant download but you can print or take snapshot similar to excel view

  • Query Design - Hierarchy Question

    Hi guys,
    I am making a query with Cost and Profitaccounts. All the accounts are listed up in a hierarchy.
    6>61>610, 6>61>611,6>62>621 etc
    Under each 3digit account we have vendor information.
    Now one users wants me to create a query that only shows the 1digit accounts with directly the vendor information underneath it.
    How do you do this?
    Thank you,
    Filip

    Hi Filip,
    if you want to display the 1 digit accounts then give the restriction by selecting it in the filter and give the range of fixed values.and if you want to display the heirarchial values then select the particualr dimension and right click and go to properties and select the hierarchy level and give for the display which node you want to display and hide the other fields by hiding them and you can gieve the selction also on hierarchy nodes by creating the hierarchy node variables.if this is not you are looking for exactly then post your question more clear way then we will help in resolving your issue.
    assign points if it helps.

  • Hierarchy question -- Can I insert more than one in a query?

    I have query where Iu2019m measuring sales across 5 divisions.  Sales are in the columns and the divisions are in the rows.  In the rows, I created a structure with 5 selections for each division.  Within each division, I need to insert a different hierarchy based on 0material.  Has anyone been successful with putting multiple hierarchies in a query?   Iu2019ve tried restricting each selection to their hierarchies but they arenu2019t displaying properly.

    statement.executeBatch() maybe?

  • Oracle Business Intelligence Dimension hierarchy question

    Hi,
    I am prasanna.I have a problem while display the data from dimension hierarchy.I have created a time dimension hierarchy.I can drill down upto week number but i m unable to display the time_id(this is the last level of the hierarchy).When i check the properties of the time_id,the HIDE check is checked.Even if i uncheck the checkbox also i m unable to display that column.How to change properties of the column manually.I can find the column at the criteria but not at results tab.How can i display the column.
    Thanks ,
    prasanna

    HI Prasanna,
    what is the least granularity for your time dimension? is at week level or day level. verify the dim hier configuration in rpd. if you define time_id as level key you dont get that column in answers results while drilldown. you may create another logical column and drag it to week level as an attribute then you will get it. and why do you need time id in answers. generally we dont use id's for reporting.
    try again after above configuration and you will be all set.
    Thanks
    Jay.

  • Hierarchy questions continue

    dear all
    I posted the following sample data below
    create table t1
      parent_id varchar2(200),
      child_id varchar2(200)
    insert into t1
      (parent_id, child_id)
    values
      ('P1', 'C1');
    insert into t1
      (parent_id, child_id)
    values
      ('P2', 'C2');
    insert into t1
      (parent_id, child_id)
    values
      ('C1', 'D1');
    insert into t1
      (parent_id, child_id)
    values
      ('D1', 'D2');
      insert into t1
      (parent_id, child_id)
    values
      ('D1', 'D3');
      insert into t1
      (parent_id, child_id)
    values
      ('D3', 'D4');
        insert into t1
      (parent_id, child_id)
    values
      ('D3', 'D5');and I was given the following sample query below to determine a childs associated parent in a tree instance
    WITH  got_paths      AS
      SELECT  SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH (parent_id, ' -> ')  AS parent_path
      ,  SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH (child_id,  ' -> ')  AS child_path
      FROM  t1
      START WITH  child_id  = 'D4'
      CONNECT BY  child_id  = PRIOR parent_id
    SELECT  MAX (SUBSTR (child_path, 5, INSTR (child_path, ' -> ', 1, 2) - 4))      AS child
    ,  MAX ( SUBSTR ( child_path, 5, INSTR (child_path, ' -> ', 1, 2) - 4)|| parent_path)      AS path
    FROM    got_paths
    ;the query works fine for the sample cases, but I need to modify the query once again, so that this time around I get only this as output instead
    child Parent
    D4 D3
    furthermore, the query also makes use of several assumptions associated with the sample data. Take for example if the sample data was changed to the following below
    insert into t1
      (parent_id, child_id)
    values
      ('P111', 'C111');
    insert into t1
      (parent_id, child_id)
    values
      ('P222', 'C222');
    insert into t1
      (parent_id, child_id)
    values
      ('C111', 'D111');
    insert into t1
      (parent_id, child_id)
    values
      ('D111', 'D222');
      insert into t1
      (parent_id, child_id)
    values
      ('D111', 'D333');
      insert into t1
      (parent_id, child_id)
    values
      ('D333', 'D444');
        insert into t1
      (parent_id, child_id)
    values
      ('D333', 'D555');it wouldnt work. I need help in modifying it.. The modification should work for both cases and any future case I might not think of

    Hi,
    Thanks for posting the CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements.
    Whenever you post a question, please say what version of Oracle you're using. That's especially important if you're using CONNECT BY, and even more important if your version is over 7 years old, as Oracle 9 is. Even if you've given your version in some other thread, and even if that thread was only a few hours ago, always say what version of Oracle you're using. Not everyone who wants to help you has read all of your earlier posts, and not everyone who has read all your earlier posts recognizes that you are the same poster, and not everyone who has read all of your earlier posts and recognizes you as the same poster remembers everything from the earlier messages. Is it really that hard to say something like: "I'm using Oracle 9.2.0.1.0"?
    It always helps if you explain why you want the given results from the given data.
    In this case:
    SELECT     child_id
    ,     parent_id
    FROM     t1
    WHERE     child_id     = 'D4'
    ;produces the correct results, but it may be for the wrong reasons, and therefore it might not work on your full table.
    Is there anything about your data that you're not saying? For example, is child_id unique?
    What results do you want from the second set of data that you posted (the data with 4-character ids, such as 'P111')?
    If you want to pass a parameter (say a child_id) to the query, give a few examples of different inputs and the output you want from each one.

  • Query hierarchy question (NW04s)

    I assigned a hierarchy to 0GL_ACCOUNT and restrict on certain nodes just below the root.
    How do I prevent these nodes from being expanded in query?

    You can set Hiearchy Properties either in Query Level or Hierarchy Maintenance Screen.
    You need to enable check box for Expand Level to '1'.

  • Planning - Attribute Hierarchy question

    I currently have an attribute defined for one of my dimensions and would like to re-arrange the defined attribute members into a simple hierarchy. That does not appear to be possible. I can create Siblings and Children, but cannot move an existing member to be a child of Parent. Has anyone found a way around this? Thanks -
    Tom

    Dianne,
    The whole purpose of 52 is to build the lower levels of the BOMs to the forecast, and to ignore any extraneous factors (such as sales orders and FGs stock).  SAP specifically excludes netting against FGs stock for this strategy.  In an ideal world, such stock does not exist.  When it does exist, it must be handled manually.
    Some companies add a step to their forecasting process, by reducing the forecast by the amount of stock contained in FGs, before converting the forecast to Planned independent requirements, as a partial workaround.
    Generally, your ATPs will not consider FGs stock.  As soon as you issue FGs to the order, then the FGs buildable planned orders disappear during the next MRP run, and everything falls back into synch.
    If you wish to net against FGs stock, use a strategy like 40 or 10, and use a regular ATP.  Or, consider using enhancements.

  • Keyword Hierarchy Question

    Sorry if this has been answered. I looked thru a bunch of responses but could not find this. So here is my problem with keywords. I use a hierarchical system. I have a top level Keyword tag and keyword tags created inside the top level. For example: Thingsballoon
    cannon
    kayak
    wagon wheel
    wheel
    For an image I will have "wagon wheel" and "wagon" checked in the keyword list. However in the Keyword Tag Panel I get "wagon wheel" then "wheel>Things". I have the "include on export" box unchecked for "Things". I really don't want "Things" to get included and can't see why it does it for one but not the other. What am I missing? Thanks
    Ken

    I would suggest you have two instances of wheel in your keyword list, one inside Things and one not.

  • 0CRM_MKTELM Hierarchy Question

    Hello Experts,
    Please share your experience or expertise with handling 0CRM_MKTELM hierarchies. We have a workbook performance issue caused to to the multiple hierarchies being generated for 0CRM_MKTELM. Also, we use BIA for handling the indexes. Is there any additional BIA handling for master data (hierarchies)?
    Please suggest.

  • Audit Management: Question List (questionnaire)

    Hello,
    There is a scenario where a questionnaire is required to be created at the time of 'Opportunity Creation' in order to perform some checks. This is required to be incorporated within the opportunity flow. example: <i>based on the asnwer in question the status of the opportunity would change.</i>
    In this context:
    <b>1.</b> In configuration <b>IMG --> CRM --> Audit Management --> Question List</b>, there is a option "Question List". Could that be used for this purpose ?. If 'Yes'  than Is it possible to use these questionnaire for other application then Audit Management ?
    <b>2.</b> Is there a option to create a questionnaire in SAP-CRM (sales) and assign it to the opportunity flow ? how this can be achieved?
    <b>3.</b> What can be the other approach options to achieve this functionality ?
    Thanks in advance

  • [JS] [CS3] Text Path to Layer?

    A Hierarchy question.
    How can I navigate from a Text Path object to find its Layer? (ie the Layer it resides on)
    Thanks,
    PJB

    Ok, what you need is:
    myTextPath.parent.itemLayer;
    The parent of the text path is the polygon (or other page item) that "owns" the path on which the textPath item sits.
    Not an oversight; just a slightly more complex object model branch than meets the eye.

  • How to ERPi Automation To planning application

    Dear All ,
    we are on critical issue , We are on EPM 3 tiers servers .
    We are having planning and budgeting application . and we did successfully all erpi setup dataload and drill through .
    Question 1 : How to automate ERPi data load ?
    We are using ERPi to load data and metadata from EBS to our target Hyperion Planning Application .
    during metadata load , members set to be at the root of the dimension .
    Question 2 , How to choose where the extracted members to be placed at certain position at EPMA Hierarchy
    Question 3 , Does Drill through doesn't work If we didn't metadata load ?

    Depending on version you can use batch scripts to automate the meta data rules and data load rules from a command line, this functionality was introduced from 11.1.2.1.501

  • Value based hierarchy 11g question

    Hi,
    in my BMM i've created a level based hierarchy composed of two levels: TOTAL and Audiologist
    Total level is setted as Grand Total level and doesn't have logical columns.
    At audiologist level insted i drag and drop two logical columns: Audiologist Code and Audiologist Name
    Then i created two keys.
    First Key: Audiologist Code - Use to display: None
    Second Key: Audiologist Code and Audiologist Name - Use to display : YES
    Graphically my hierarchy is as follow:
    Total-----
    Audiologist
    Audiologist Code
    Audiologist Name
    Now i would like that if i drill down Total appear simultaneously two columns: Audiologist Code and Audiologist Name.
    Is it possible? I remember that in 10 it was.
    It's quite urgent.
    Thanks

    Based on my experience of OWB10gR2 the option to create a "Value Based" hierarchy is only enabled if you create an AW based OLAP model. If you want to create a ROLAP model then I do not think this is possible.
    Question is why create a ROLAP model when you could get better performance and more powerful analytical features by using a multidimensional model within an analytic workspace.
